Went in to get an ice cream, man who works in the shop standing smoking a cigarette. Place was stinking. Looks closed from outside.

Do not pass through Tarbolton without stopping ere for ice cream. Known locally for being the best ice cream in the area. Try various add ins like flakes, choc eggs etc. It won't disappoint.

Tucked in a non descriptive shop that looks closed, on the Main Street in Tarbolton is the Princes Cafe. It serves traditional milk ice cream and is one of a dying breed. The Ice cream is like nothing else and best enjoyed with raspberry sauce. This is one of the best kept secrets of Ayrshire. £1 / for a cone and raspberry amazing value. Go and seek it out.

Had lunch here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Sits on a busy corner of the main street but once inside it opens into a bar area and good restaurant area and garden overlooking the river( and boatyard). Menu has a good selection of classic pub food. Took a little time for our meal to arrive but as is was freshly made this was not a problem. The boatyard burger was one of the best burgers I have had in years and my wife was delighted with the chicken pie with mash and fresh veg. The chef knows how to cook!! If you are in Girvan this place is worth a visit for the food and the view.

This is the last Brewers Fayre in Scotland i hadn't visited (now that they have closed the Glasgow ones) So i needed an excuse to tick it off. I was staying next door. The staff were very friendly , there weren't that many but they still seemed to be everywhere and on hand when needed. It wasn't that busy that evening but more did come in throughout the visit. The food service was quick and the meal was tasty. Just disappointed you have now got new kitchen doors which don't match the other ones with pentagon shaped windows! The area we sat in had clearly been freshened up recently with newpaint and carpets.

The only consistent Chinese in area. Foods always nice delivery times are bit lengthy but to be expected at certain times. Always do special request exactly the way asked. Never had to return anything or complain once or twice called for an ETA.

Absolutely disgusting food couldn't eat anything just got salt and chilli ribs which were the worst I've ever tasted 🤮 and chicken fried rice! The rice was dark brown with all the rancid grease it was cooked in ! I just hope I haven't got food poisoning from what I tasted 🤮
