Lovely place, lovely view. Superb food with personable service. All the main courses we had were perfectly cooked and presented. The liquorice cherry pavlova devine. Would highly recommend this place.

Heerlijk gegeten in dit hotel. De sfeer is met recht Old English. De gastheer was voortreffelijk. Niets gehaast. Het eten smaakte voortreffelijk tegen een zeer schappelijke prijs en dat voor voor- hoofd- en nagerecht. Heerlijk bier gehad van lokale brouwerij Snowdon.

Stayed for 3 night break in this interesting, peaceful old hotel. It may be old and in the country but you will find there is not a speck of dust, spider or cobweb. Bedrooms large and bed comfortable, linen and towels spotless white. Everything you could wish for a luxurious shower in bathroom cabinet. Menu choices for all meals were varied, of excelllent quality. and generous portions. All served by the ever attentive but tactful host and staff. Wherever you sit, eat or sleep you will have a beautiful, tranquil view of the river. The pretty village of Trefriw is just a few minutes walk and you will find places to explore, eat or drink there. Travel on to explore castles, beaches or lakes, the choice is yours. Someone who has stayed here many times told us Trefriw has its own micro climate. True, we left the rain in Yorkshire and had two days of sushine. Only drawback, our stay was too short! At these prices I think we will be back soon.

The owners Lindsey and Ann are always around and extremely welcoming. This country house hotel is in a perfect setting, spotlessly clean and all food is home cooked by Ann. Can't recommend it enough, great place to stay.

We had dinner at this lovely restaurant over the Easter holidays. The dining room had an open fire with lovely views across the valley. The food was excellent and very tasty. Of particular note was the outstanding homemade chips, without doubt the best we've had in years. The ice cream was also top notch. My only regret is that we only dined here on our last night, otherwise we would have certainly visited more than once during our stay.

We have been staying at this hotel every September for the last 26 years with a group of friends. The owners are the perfect hosts and the cuisine is excellent. The venue is peaceful and the rooms are comfortable and classic. If you like shiny modern decor this is not for you. The owner is the excellent host. Sunday lunches are very popular. We had our 50th Wedding Anniversary evening there last year which was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend the Princes Arms for a peaceful stay with excellent dining.

We had a family dinner at the Princes arms a few weeks ago. Everything about it was excellent from the welcome by one of the owners, the table by the window overlooking the Conwy Valley and the food, which was freshly cooked. Full of flavour and good portions. This is old fashioned hospitality at its best.

Ate dinner here whilst at the hotel for an overnight stay. There was only one veggie main course option, but I was able to swap it around with the accompaniment from another dish to create a truly awesome meal. Amazingly tasty, generous portions & top service. Much much better than the hotel food I'm used to. Highly recommended.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms coul have done with some redecoration but the everything was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The wifi worked well which for a hotel is quite unusual. There was ample parkingat the hotel. There was plenty of choice on the menu and all the food was well cooked and beautifully presented.

Helpful when booking a table in these difficult times (staff shortages etc.). Initial impression was of a slightly old-fashioned hotel, but quickly noticed it's smart not 'tired', and the welcome was friendly. But the main thing was the quality of the food, everything I had on two evenings was beautifully cooked with great flavours and very generous portions. I was also very impressed with the way an elderly couple near me were helped by adjusting their dinner to avoid their dietary constraints.

This well established hotel on the banks of the River Conwy is an ideal location for exploring the Conwy Valley and Snowdonia area. It has an excellent reputation for the quality of its food and accommodation.

My review of 3 stars reflects that this is average..to get 4 stars it needs to be very good and 5 is perfect sadly it wasnt these for us. The hotel/restaurant is very traditional in decor and clearly has its regular visitors which is cute. The food which ie specially what we went for was not great if I'm honest and I feel bad writing that as the bar and waiting staff were so lovely. Very kind and attentive. I had a curry and there was LOADS my partner had lamb shank. The fact there was so much made the presentation a little non existent. Taste wise my curry was ok but as a big curry fan I like a well spiced and really tasty curry. The naan bread was a bit tough. Sadly I only ate about 1/3. My partner ate all the lamb shank and said it was nice. Probably wouldn't return but again as the service was so lovely it makes me sad writing that.

Had dinner here during a recent stay in the area. As soon as we entered the hotel, it smelt musty, looked very tired and we felt we were back in the 1970s. I’m not sure which room we were taken to for our dinner but it didn’t resemble any if those in the photos on the website. Our food was nothing special, just ‘fine’, although a pavlova is a little more than a meringue nest piled high with scoops of ice cream! Very, very underwhelming.

We had dinner twice at the brasserie of the hotel. The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious and served on big plates. The daily specials are really nice! You can ask for them when ordering. As a vegetarian I loved the broccoli and blue cheese quiche.

We recently visited here for Sunday lunch, encouraged by the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, so we looked forward with anticipation to our meal. To be fair, for the most part, the food was good, although the menu choices are a little dated. The Sunday Roast was fine, but the veg choice a bit strange. Maybe they were using up what they had in the larder. I was a little disconcerted to have my parfait dessert served in a crereal dish, filled to the brim, but with no garnish or embellishments. I think a little more finesse is expected these days. The staff were friendly enough, but obviously the Sunday lunch at this establishment caters mainly for the local clientele as, other than us, all were greeted personally by name. It has to be said, that the vast majority were in an older age bracket too! The “time warp” theme continued in the toilets, with 1970’s sanitary ware in brown. A refurbishment is long overdue here. It’s unlikely that we’ll visit this restaurant again, it was just a little dated for us. There is a difference between traditional and old fashioned!

We all enjoyed our get together for Sunday Lunch. The food was very good as well as good value. The dining room looked lovely as it was decorated for Christmas. We then had teas and coffees in the lounge where there was a lovely log fire. Altogether a very enjoyable afternoon.

We called in at the Princes to book a table for dinner for 6 of us. I asked if we could have a drink, and was told they don't serve drinks unless you are eating. We explained that we were looking to book a table but were waiting for others to catch up. We found out that they didn't have a childrens menu so we decided not to stay.

Whenever we have visited Trefriw we have come to the Princes for dinner. This time we actually stayed here, so were able to take even greater advantage of their wonderful food. Breakfast was really comprehensive, with lots of choices, such as kippers and smoked haddock. There is always plenty of choices on each course for dinner. This time, main courses included duck with peppercorn sauce, plaice with oranges and scallops, steak and kidney pie and lamb shoulder with all the trimmings. Puddings included raspberry crème brulee with a sugar cage, and sticky toffee pudding. Prices are very reasonable, with two courses (we can never manage three) and wine coming to about £45. We'll be back very soon!!

The ice cream was awesome and very tasty! 😊 The only let down was that the staff could have been friendlier and more welcoming (it's my first time visiting Llandudno!).

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.
