Pret a Manger in Islington

Ive made a review before on staff member Jose, dissapointed to see he still works there - a vile individual with no respect for others and lacks in customer service skills.

I love this place. It's quieter and has more space than the one opposite Angel station. I love how their motto "kindness is never wasted" and the fact that they donate leftover food to charities every night. I hope the area manager puts a bit more love and care for this branch as it needs some repairs.

This café is way too noisy to work remotely. The staff shout across the store and have loud video calls. Definitely not a good spot for focused work.

Poor customer service. Rude man serving at the till giving attitude. Food was good though.

Staff member Jose once again was extremely rude to me, this is the second time. I moved a table close by to a charger port (only a foot to the left) and he came up to me and intimidated me. He got visibly angry and began to grunt and kiss his teeth. He rudely explained to me that I am not allowed to move the table. He then moved half of the table (it was 2 small ones combined), nearly causing my laptop to fall and break. I’m disgusted by this poor service. This is the 2nd time I have had a rude encounter with this staff member.

Some friends and I were in here today working on our laptops quietly when a staff member called Jose acted extremely disrespectful towards us. He told us that we could only sit in if we'd purchased food and said we had to leave unless we bought something. He added that people "pay a lot of money" to eat here, even though the cafe was only half full. He came back again after the first time to, once again, confront us and tell us we needed to leave. We had already purchased a couple of pastries and when we told him this and showed him evidence of this on our bank statements he still didn't seem convinced. He then went over to the till, I assume to check with the staff there whether we were telling the truth, and didn't come back when he found out that we were. Overall I feel that this treatment was extremely rude and just disappointing as someone who comes to this Pret regularly. We saw him treat other customers this way too and I understand there may be store policy but the way he went about enforcing this was confrontational, accusatory and intimidating. I've never received treatment like this from any of the other staff members in this Pret who are always very helpful. I am in here probably at least a few times a week and have never been asked to leave in this way before. I hope something can be done about this to avoid this happening in the future.

Myself and two friends were sitting quietly doing some work. When an employee came up to us, quite hostile and aggressively, and told us that we would have to purchase something or leave. I understand that it may be store policy, however, I have been a regular customer to this particular Pret for quite some time and have never been asked to leave. He then returned once again, rather aggressively and spoke to us in a very unprofessional manner. We felt very uncomfortable and belittled as he told us that ‘people pay a lot of money’, as if he was shaming us. Despite us telling him that we had already purchased some items, even showing him evidence from our bank statements. He then went to ask another member of staff, which confirmed that we infact had purchased some things. Instead of apologising for his rudeness, he proceeded to try to intimidate us out of the cafe by continually watching us and scowling. He waited until we left and followed us out of the cafe whilst being very rude. We witnessed him do similar acts to other customers that were minding their business. I have never experienced something like this from any of the other staff. I hope that this issue could be fixed soon as it was deeply upsetting.

On the way back I made a quick stop at Pret-a-Manger, a café that offers healthy, organic snacks and can be found on every corner in London. There is a wide selection of fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, sandwiches, soups and small warm dishes. Plus freshly squeezed juices, shots and of course coffee and cakes. The concept sounds promising, but a "healthy" sandwich with chicken, bacon, lettuce, cucumber and tomato made me smile. I chose mac & cheese with cauliflower and kale, which was really good - nicely seasoned and tasty. Mr. P chose the laksa soup, which was also impressive. Compared to the youth hostel, the dishes are significantly more vegetable and lighter, but still filling. There was also something with ginger, which perfectly rounded off the healthy touch. Conclusion: Good selection of fresh, healthy snacks, delicious warm dishes, and all in organic quality. 4 out of 5 Mac & Cheese!

A Pret just like so many others. In particular about this one, the toilet, it looks like it was never cleaned. Every surface including walls look disgusting.

I have subscription and use it in different branches, but never met so rud staff as here! plus dirty tables always! where is the management?

Absolute shambles - menacing staff for no reason! This has happened 3 times too! - I work nearby and most times they have overcharged me, then not even given me the order until I went back and asked for it - then was stared down and frowned upon - intimidating sad poor staff behaviour - needs work. If this happened once I understand someone having a bad day - that's why never put a negative review on. But this was horrible happening 3-4 times. I will NEVER go back there. Hope the staff get some kind of training - if you are so miserable with normal customers, it was really horrid. They overcharged me then when I asked they pretended to not understand. Then made me wait for a croissant for 5 minutes when I went back to request what is the hold up - they pretended to not remember and stared at me as if I'm asking for something for free (AFTER I OVERPAID) !!! It was shocking !! Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Im regular customer and coffee is always great, Maria and young lady with long dark hair are so helpful, attentive and funny.

Really sad to see one of your favourite chains gradually losing the plot. Prices going up, quality of ingredients and service going down. Got a Tuna salad, leaves at the bottom were soggy, floppy and old. Absolutely no way it was freshly made today. Staff are OK - just OK. Pret used to have motivated, happy people working there. Sadly this is no longer the case. Maybe the pay is pants now? Won't be going back again. The level of service and price just doesn't justify it any more.

Most uncomfortable Pret I’ve ever been to. Tables dirty, small and wobbly, freezing cold and miserable staff.

I have been a regular customer here for over a year now and I have always been impressed with the level of customer service I receive. The staff are very friendly and sympathetic and they can work extremely hard especially with the queue being out the door due to the Pret Batista Subscription (absolute bargain at £20 a month) There is a wide selection of sandwiches, baguettes and other products available for lunch and this Pret A Manger branch is always well stocked! I only wish this branch stocked the Vegan Christmas Lunch Baguette. Pret's Posh Cheddar and Pickle Baguette at £3.75 is absolutely delicious and it's fit for the Queen! Best baguette they do by a country mile! However, Pret A Manger on a daily basis and for the long term is very expensive and I truly believe Pret A Manger need to reduce their prices in order to build back from setbacks due to the coronavirus Pandemic as Pret A Manger was very badly hit. Overall, I would strongly recommend that you buy breakfast, lunch and dinner from this branch it's amazing!

I always grab a quick bite here on my way to Sadlers Wells for a dance performance. Good soups, great salads, broad choice, perfect when in a hurry or when you need to work or have time to kill.

A chain of coffee shops very popular in London...walk in any time for coffee and sandwiches..open from early morning till late night

Much as most Pret branches. This particular one was clean and well stocked. The servers brisk and friendly. Usual stock of sarnies, baguettes, wraps etc, teas, coffee, drinks.

Decent food at reasonable prices. Warm, and attentive and friendly staff, good atmosphere. Close to the Angel but less crowded than the shops on Upper Street, so it's nice for a quiet moment of rest away from the hustle and bustle. Clean and inviting.

Probably the rudest Pret staff I've encountered. All look like they don't want to be there and want to rush you off. Expert at rolling their eyes. Politely asked a staff to heat up my croissant (most outlets do without asking), she rolled her eyes, waved her hands over it and said: "It's already warm". Of course it wasn't because she had just picked it up from the display!

Hay muchas franquicias de este tipo por todo Londres, incluido en el aeropuerto. Están bien de precio, hay fruta, smoothies, bollería, sandwiches, zumos, café, infusiones...., vamos, de todo, y la verdad que bien de calidad y bien precio, para lo que es Londres. Recomendado para desayunar, o cargar pilas un momento antes de seguir.

Counter service varies from rude, insincere (robotic), lacking and rushed to rarely very good. A good place for a quick bite to eat but gets very busy, so can't always guarantee a seat. Good to take away from but ensure they give you a napkin or else you'll feel short changed. Eating here everyday will reduce your savings for sure, so it's definitely not good for people on a budget. Loyalty is definitely not rewarded here for regulars! I use it because it is the closest place to my workplace for something to eat. Try abokado next door if you fancy a change!

Colazione, pranzo, merenda, cena. Ottimo per qualsiasi occasione in cui si vuole fare veloci (ma anche per sostare più a lungo). Molta varietà e molto buona la qualità.

This is the usual Pret. The food is good, the coffee is terrible as all the other Prets I’ve been in. I have one problem with this specific one: it’s so crowded during lunchtime. Trying to maximise space by providing seating that is so close to one another that there is only about 5cm space between tables. Squeezing through this gap to sit makes your next table “neighbours” needing to hold their sandwiches for dear life.

The staff were courteous & helpful and the location was very spacious. Located just outside the busier Upper Street area. Clientele on the busy Saturday I visited were 90% OK: a mixture of families, elderly 👵 people mainly women, the occasional couple 👫 & single women.

Staff here are brilliant, even at busy times they keep their cool, the are very polite and very helpful 😊 will definitely recommend a visit

It's a Pret so you should know what you're getting - decent coffee and, for a chain, decent food served in a nice atmosphere. The lady behind the counter gave me a free coffee.

I like this branch, good for meeting people or working in, spacious seating area and nice staff.
