The Hackney Wick / Fish Island area has a vibe and it's a great place to discover street art. If you're walking the canals here, Preeti Patty is worth looking up for its range of interesting (juicy and delicious) made-to-order burgers with an Indian-twist. It's a hole-in-the-wall takeout with no seating, but it is located opposite a park or you could grab some table-space at Two More Years, which is right next door. They also do chicken wings and dhal patties. Street food at its finest.

This little kiosk will offer you a fried ice cream scoop with a number of personalisation options. While serving us, the girl behind the counter who I think may have been the creator, was testing out changes to their Christmas recipe. The staff were super polite and chatty and I would love to see them expand their menu with more limited edition flavours. Banana would suit the concept particularly well.
