lways amazing service at Pots. It’s taken me a bit of time to get round to writing this review but feel compelled to do so. I cannot more highly recommend this establishment for a visit. The service is second to none, food is beautiful with large portions and fresh ingredients. But it is the general atmosphere and banter that makes it stand out. I think this comes from the owners. I came in a week after giving birth, everything had taken longer than I expected, leaving the house, getting my daughter and newborn in the car, out of the car, walking to the cafe. By the time I managed to get there it was after 2.30 and lunch had stopped being served. I had a look at the cakes and tea / coffee menu and felt so hungry for a meal. Mark the wonder came to my table, took one look at me (totally exhausted, sleep deprived and hungry) and said “forget the time and order whatever it is you need to and we will sort it out”. As a post partum Mum so sleep deprived and exhausted, emotional and running on empty I can’t tell you how much this meant to me. I felt seen and cared for which is way WAY over and above the call of duty for any restaurant. I ordered a salad which was beautiful, fresh and appetising. My daughter was treated to a gorgeous slice of chocolate cake (which was so big I got some too!) and a hot chocolate. There are not many places left who would treat you with such care and compassion as Rosemary and Mark did on my visit. They even kindly held my baby so I got the privilege of eating a meal with two hands! All in all yhe most caring experience I have had when I was out with a newborn (and I have had three) I really felt understood and looked after which was special and so very much appreciated.

We come to this place often maybe every other week for lunch and the odd Saturday for brekkie, the French toast is divine and pancakes are to die for!!! They have a great kiddies menu which has all the adult things on it for a fraction of the price and smaller portions, I normally go for the toastie and veg soup combo which is bliss!! Perfect for those cold days. The service is always fabulous and is a great spot for a bite of lunch or a Saturday morning breakfast.

We discovered this lovely coffee/gift shop while on a visit to the town a few months ago on a visit home from Scotland. .On our 1st visit we had a beautiful lunch, the presentation was outstanding as was the friendliness and service of the staff. We had our second visit this week and it was as perfect as the first visit, This time we discovered the seating area as the back of the shop which was another pleasant surprise. The gift shop has some lovely items too, hope to be back soon.

My wife and I have been coming to Pots every few weeks now for almost 5 years, always a warm welcome and if it's busy and we have to wait for a few minutes, we're happy to take that as a great sign of a flourishing local business. The menu has plenty to choose from - whether we're in a ravenous mood or just need a sweet treat and americano, we've never been disappointed with anything that has come to our table, always fresh, tasty and well presented.

This came from a recommendation form my lovely wife. As it turned out this a lovely place to eat. the food is fresh and very very tasty. decoration is very friendly and warm with humorous messages on the wall. it is a bit of a cramp when getting to the tables at the far end of the cafe but it is more that made up of the wonderful food. Staff are very friendly and appropriately attentive. we have experienced in other places where staff dive in when it looks like you are pausing even to have a breath. When we were there it was busy but not too loud that we could not have a conversation.

I like Pots but it is very very hit or miss. The service can be extremely slow, the food is nice on some occasions and terrible on others. I had a quick lunch here on Saturday and I was so impressed by both the service and the very high standard of food. The restaurant was just getting busy so I sort of half suspected, being a solo diner that I may be welcomed with less than open arms. This was not the case, quite the opposite, I was shown where the newspapers we're and given a lovely table. All in all the staff were wonderful, young, enthusiastic and extremely well trained. By now the restaurant was bunged but service was fast and efficient. The food was simple and absolutely delicious, my only regret was I didn't have room for some of their cake, as I know from before it is wonderful.

My wife and I called here for lunch on a day out. Her baked potato was well cooked and packed with a tangy pulled pork filling. My sandwich was well filled and used soft, granary bread. Both dishes came with a large side salad including a wedge of melon and orange slices as well as a few tortilla chips. The cafetiere of coffee had a great flavour. The quirky quotes on the walls make interesting reading as well.

My Mum and I had been to an appointment at the Shore Rd and I suggested goin to PoP as I'd heard lots of good reports. We aren't familiar with Ballyclare but found the carpark easy enough and then spotted Pots across the street. Couldn't believe how big it was from entering and also how busy. We waited for 2-3mins for a table and were taken to the area where the stairs are. I like to be able to look outside and yes we were at a window, albeit frosted glass, but it was grand. Our order was taken from the extensive menu and it wasn't long til it arrived despite it being super busy. I ordered a cheese and onion toastie and Mum ordered salad sandwiches. My toastie was delicious but I was almost jealous of the lush looking sandwiches on Mum's plate. The large side salad on our plates was also very tasty. Unusual to see melon and orange slices but a lovely addition. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

This place has had quite the makeover. Gone is the majority of the gift shop and the pots of plants, The makeover is generally good. The front half is great. The area at the rear is a bit harder to do anything with but has benefitted from the makeover. Very extensive menu for such a small coffee shop. Scones were good but cream and jam need a review. Serve clotted or thick double cream not cream that rapidly disappears when put on the scone and jam that is of better quality than the individual packaged variety that is served. Staff are absolutely lovely and very attentive. Prices are very reasonable. When we called in it was very busy so obviously has a loyal fan base! My only downer was the loo. It is minuscule - would not like to be taking a child in. It is an ‘interesting’ space but cluttered with bits and really could do with a rethink and refurb. Maybe the loo is next on the list for an overhaul.

Eight of us arranged to go for Lunch today Monday 16/4/2018, we didn't book but i believe you can. After an initial mix up, which was our fault, we were seated very quickly and given our Menus by very attentive staff. There are so many choices of freshly prepared food that its hard to choose. Two of our party opted for the Afternoon tea, it was amazing and quite honestly would have served the eight of us!!!! Very good value at £12.50 per person. The rest of us opted for various sandwiches, pulled pork and beautiful fish platter, with POTS and POTS of tea and coffee. This restaurant is unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems. We went today for lunch and we were very disappointed. Our order was very simple a cup of coffee, a glass of water, a cup of tea, a scone , a chocolate muffin and a toasted beagel. After 5 minutes the beagel arrived. We waited another 5 minutes and then spoke to a member of staff who assured us the rest of the order would be with us shortly. After another 10 minutes we spoke to another member of staff and again told it would be with us shortly. My husband then went to the counter to enquire about how long it would be again he was told it would be with us shortly. After 5 more minutes we gave up and left. I understand they were busy but for such a simply order I feel the service was very poor.

My Daughter and I visited Pots today on the last day of school. We visit Pots most months and the customer service, quality of food and value for money is excellent. Today, our order was overlooked by mistake. The queue was out the door, every table was busy and staff were run off their feet. Mark on realising the mistake immediately came to apologise. We received our order shortly afterwards and the customer service and quality was as always excellent. What I realised today is that this is the first time I have left a review after the hundreds of times we have visited and actually I realise I need to apologise for taking you all for granted. At 12.30pm they had no scones left...nor did they have my second choice of a bagel...nor did they have my third choice of a danish! Told the staff that I'd just have a latte. This caused great confusion with 4 different staff members when they kept asking me what I had ordered! Eventually did get my latte but I was charged for a double shot latte. When I explained this error to the young girl at the till she seemed to be completely lost! Staff were all very young and completely disorganised. However the thing that would bring me back is the service, 10/10. I am a supervisor in a restaurant myself and like to commend good service where it's due, our server was a pleasant young man called Ryan, and he was fantastic, very welcoming, polite and was always smiling. The place was very busy but the staff stayed very calm and professional which can be hard during busy service. I visited on Saturday morning and it was busy! But no problem getting a seat (upstairs has seating too) and the staff are very helpful and attentive. Good coffee and a selection of homemade scones and cake. Entrance (and exit) is through the contained gift shop.

I met a friend here on Monday morning for tea and a catch-up. We ordered a pot of tea for two and two scones. The scones were delicious - a raspberry and white chocolate, and a pear and almond. Our pot of tea was replenished and we were delighted with the service, the ambiance and of course the scones.

I'm a fairly regular visitor to Pots of pleasure. It's a quirky shop anyway with lovely gifts rather than the expected ones. The coffee shop I can't fault. Their meals are fresh, well prepared and brilliant portion sizes for the price. I personally love the platters :) sometimes a wait is required for a table (and when you see how large the seating area is you will be surprised!) but well worth it!

Decor quirky with wooden plaques on walls. Relaxing atmosphere. Homemade food delicious. They do amazing deserts especially apple pie.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions for lunch with friends. it is always very busy at lunch time and there is often a bit of a wait, however staff are very attentive and try to get you seated as quickly as possible (it is worth the wait!). the first time I ate here I was blown away with the portion size, you definitely won't leave here still hungry! it is very good value for money, the food is simple but tasty, perfect for a quick lunch or coffee! there is additional seating areas at the back of the cafe and so it is a lot larger than it originally appears when you walk in. I will definitely continue to stop off for lunch here when I am in ballyclare

First time visit to this cafe. I found the menu awkward and as a vegetarian nothing really jumped out at me as being suitable. I ended up having a scone which was delicious. Decor was a little busy for me but I suppose it does add charm to the place.

This delightful cafe is part of a gift shop in the centre of the town. Provide an excellent selection of cakes and tray bakes. Daily newspapers are available so you can catch up on world events whilst enjoying a coffee. Alternatively you can browse the range of well priced gifts. Good food and excellent service.

I'm in 'pots' regularly and have nothing but praise for both the great food and fabulous service. Customers are made so welcome by friendly and attentive staff. Often the craic is as good as the food ( which is always great!) 10/10 Mark , Rosemary and the team!!!!

Popped in for some sandwiches on lunch break in work. Seems like a nice wee cafe with house giftware at the entrance. Cafe seemed very busy and the sandwiches i got were tasty. Came with a large handful of dorito style crisps

Lovely service from the staff. I had the hogey and kebab&cheese. Chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Baguette was soft and they didn’t skimp on the sauce. I would’ve liked more chicken but for the price and how good the food was I walked away pretty happy :)
