Popped in for a pint while in the area. Sat and had a chat with Alan and Sarah (the friendly owners) . Great little boozer with good quality ale

We used this pub on a regular basis when we lived in the area. We cannot find a pub to come close to it and will be back there as soon as they are allowed to re-open. Not sure what to expect when we first visited but by the second visit the landlord had asked our names and knew what our order would be. Landlord and Landlady are very friendly and you always get greeted with a cheery hello making you feel part of them and very welcome. Various activities are available including a Bingo night, Darts, Dominoes, Live music and all join in Karaoke. The pub has the traditional bar and lounge and has a great supply of freshly made, fillings cobs, bar snacks and crisps along with a menu of bar type food. Nothing is too much trouble for the couple and their staff. If you don't have a good time there is something wrong with you ! Our only regret of moving to our new home is being so far away from The Portway. The atmosphere is great and the landlord always ensures that not only are people enjoying themselves but they don't cause any problems with other customers. There is a small but nice outdoor seating area. Toilets are kept clean and well stocked. There is a great range of Spirits, Wines, Hot & Cold drinks and also Traditional well kept beer. One of the traditional pubs which we hope will last for many years.

The portway pub is a fab little pub to stop off for a drink Friendly, down to earth staff you can have a laugh with, friendly people who drink in their Serve a variety of drinks and also serve snacks n cobs Prices are reasonable too Some sport is shown on bt sport Ample of seating inside n out and is also a clean environment A great little pub to visit without feeling uneasy Love this place

Lovely atmosphere with delicious cobs and great value for money. Lovely landlord and land lady greeted with a smile.

Nice, friendly local with very nice staff. The beers were second to none and all at great prices. Its also worth checking out the bar snacks. I had a beautiful pork pie with my ale, made to go together. They have a small menu that also includes Scotch Eggs. Lovely. If you like a friendly pub, The Portway is perfect.
