A nice friendly little cafe for the over 50s. took my mum and dad in there, we felt very welcome, good place to rest and have a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.or coffee and a cake.

We visited last week to see what the cafe was like as it’s nice to have different lunch options. They don’t serve meals as such but the staff were so nice that we called back for dessert after our meal. The place is large inside, plenty of seating and because it’s for over 50’s it is very peaceful! The staff were great fun and it was a relaxing visit. Good value too.

I meet my friend every week for tea and a chat. The staff are very friendly and the drinks and snacks very reasonably priced. Daily newspapers are provided and there is a secondhand book table with books priced at only 50p.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Have passed by this little Cafe a thousand times & have never ventured in, until today - what a lovely experience. Instead of visiting the usual High Street haunts - if you are over 50 years of age pop into this little haven of peace & quiet - people are genuinely please to see & serve you - not like some of the 'Robotic Staff' that are Aproned-Up in the run-of-the-mill coffee houses & whose queues we generally join to receive soulless service! Tea, Coffee, Sandwiches, Biscuits or Soup & a Roll - all at sensible prices - Tea is served in a Pot & piping hot too!! If you are looking for coffee that comes from one of those hideous machines & takes an age to be served - please go elsewhere - but if you are looking to spend your lunch hour or time out whilst shopping, want to read your paper or a book in peace, or waiting for someone in the Leisure Centre next door - please give this little place a visit. I understand it is run by volunteers - but it is accessible for wheelchair users, spotlessly clean & the prices are so good - I had Tea & delicious Toasted Tea Cakes with a friend & still had change from a fiver -that can't be bad can it? Opportunity to buy books, CDs, Jigsaws for Charitable causes too - would be a great place to meet friends (over 50 yrs old of course) warm & friendly. Thank you volunteers & whoever thought of this wonderful idea - I shall be most definitely visiting again & shall be telling everyone I know about it too!!
