This branch of Pizza Express can be surprise you with their food portions on the delivery orders. I ordered a Pollo Pesto pasta via uber eats and since it was on offer, the restaurant has chosen to send half the portion. Smart move but highly unethical. Absolutely unacceptable. Please beware before getting mugged.

Extremely Disappointed – Discriminatory Treatment at Stratford Broadway Branch I’m truly disheartened to be writing this, but my experience at Pizza Express Stratford Broadway during the recent 1965 Menu Pricing promotion was absolutely appalling—and unfortunately, reflective of a deeper issue. Despite having a confirmed booking, my family and I were treated with outright hostility from the moment we arrived. We were left waiting for over an hour before our order was even taken, while other diners who arrived much later were served promptly. Multiple attempts to get a server’s attention were blatantly ignored, and we were made to feel completely unwelcome. What made this even more distressing was that I was fasting, and due to the inexcusable delays, I wasn’t able to break my fast on time. To make matters worse, when we asked for a takeaway box for my daughter’s unfinished pizza, we were denied—despite other tables being given them without issue. We were told that “management had specifically decided we couldn’t have one.” It was degrading and clearly targeted. The manager’s behavior was aggressive, dismissive, and deeply unprofessional. When we tried to use a legitimate starter code from a previous complaint, he shouted at us in front of other diners and only relented after we showed him the offer’s terms ourselves. Even then, he waved around WhatsApp messages in an attempt to justify denying us. As we left, he mocked us and said, “carry on making your complaints,” claiming nothing would be done. A staff member also told us to “get out” and made further disrespectful comments. Pizza Express’s official response admitted they had “fallen short” and offered an apology, yet shockingly claimed that waiting over an hour to place an order is “within acceptable service times.” CCTV “conveniently” didn’t cover the area where we were seated, and they denied any wrongdoing despite overwhelming evidence. See the images I’ve included showing screenshots from their incompetent customer service team and images of the staff involved in this appalling treatment. Please also refer to the video now circulating on social media, which clearly shows how we were treated. Let me be clear: this was not just bad service. This felt like targeted, discriminatory treatment—whether due to a previous complaint or because of who we are. As a Muslim family simply trying to enjoy a meal, the experience was humiliating and painful. Pizza Express needs to take accountability. A vague apology isn’t enough. They need to properly investigate, retrain staff, and prove they take discrimination seriously. I hope this review raises awareness and encourages others to speak up. No one should be treated like this in any public space—let alone by a national restaurant chain claiming to be inclusive.

Had dinner this evening at Pizza Express after seeing a show at the Theatre and had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The manager Nicholas was knowledgable, attentive and had great customer service. Overall really happy with my experience at Pizza Express Theatre Royal.

Tastefull pizza and great service!

We booked a family meal online to celebrate (it co-incideded with the anniversary pizza promo) — we had confirmation, email in hand, everything set. We arrived on time, excited, only to be met by a staff member who bluntly declared: “Your booking is cancelled. You can’t come in. Everything is booked + sold out” Why? The PE IT system crashed after the pizza promo went live. Instead of honoring existing reservations, they rebooted, wiped all bookings, and re-sold the booking slots—leaving us stranded. Staff response? A shrug and “Tough luck, nothing we can do.” No apology, no effort to accommodate us—just indifference and a underlying “Get lost” attitude. Insulting part? The restaurant was completely empty!!?? Not a single diner. Tables sat unused while we were turned away for an imaginary “overbooking” caused by their own incompetence. WOW! When challenged, staff offered no solutions, no goodwill gestures — just robotic dismissal & repetition. This wasn’t just a technical error; it was contempt for customers. A brand that confirms bookings but refuses to honor them, then blames IT while leaving tables vacant, doesn’t deserve a single penny of my or your money! Result? Our lifetime value to PizzaExpress is now £0. We’ll never return to ANY of the chains restaurants. I see zero reason to consider any of them, given the plethora of options in the marketplace + choices of great food to enjoy.

Absolutely Horrendous Experience – Avoid at All Costs! If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked a table for 5 PM at Pizza Express Theatre Square Stratford, expecting a decent meal. Instead, I was met with chaos, incompetence, and some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. When I arrived, they denied my booking because their systems had crashed—as if that’s MY problem? Rather than apologizing or making an effort to accommodate me, the staff shrugged it off and treated me like I had just wandered in off the street. No sympathy, no attempt to fix their mistake, just an attitude of “too bad, not our fault.” I asked if they could find a table since it was THEIR error, and I was met with blank stares and poor excuses. Apparently, they had zero backup plan for technical issues—which, considering this is a big chain restaurant, is absolutely laughable. The staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. No manager in sight, no one taking responsibility. Just a bunch of employees standing around looking clueless. If you want to experience what it feels like to be ignored, disrespected, and left standing around like an idiot, then by all means, book a table here (though who knows if they’ll even honor it). I left feeling frustrated, hungry, and utterly disappointed. Pizza Express Theatre Square Stratford is a joke of a restaurant—avoid it like the plague unless you enjoy being treated like garbage. Never again.

Delicious pizzas hands down one of the best restaurants I have order from. The courier was very polite and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The pizza base was split into 2 different sections, the cheese & toppings were connected but the base was separated like it was a sandwich, took pictures of it but i dont know if we can upload it to propertly demostrate what was wrong with the pizza.

Our waiter, Mohammed, was outstanding as always. The new menu is cool, the food was fresh and tasty. He has been a waiter here for almost 17 years! I remember when he first started. He hasn't lost his smile, and he has an impeccable memory! 🌟🌟🌟

Very quiet, Less Busy, Excellent Service, The taste of those magnificent and also can be use romantically, even when it night time (ground floor only via Stratford Picture House) It does have delivery, wheelchair access and also products also selling the in store, also can be used for events (work related outreach/meeting or others, including birthdays) Very Highly recommend Feedback: Everything in the restaurant is perfectly clean, service is not too long (really quick), excellent for romance, birthday and outreach/events, quick payment process, food and drink is very delicious and highly recommended (also not many people go there that why it is mostly quiet), also staff very friendly atmosphere is amazingly excellent

The worse pizza express ever. Avoid visiting this branch at all costs. Visited this branch and waited over an hour on National Pizza Day to be then turned away. The manager who refused to give his name said he had given the pizza cards out during the week when we clearly explained that is not what was written in the terms and conditions. He continued saying he will not honour the offer and turned away everyone. He was extremely unprofessional and said he's the only manager working there and that's the reason why he refused to give his name. Pizza express has the worse customer service and do not visit the Stratford branch!!!

Tried to call the restaurant multiple times over a half hour period about dietary requirements for a delivery order and they never answered the phone.

On Saturday evening, with my family (including a 4 yr old and 18month old baby) we were turned away from the door of this Pizza Express. The restaurant did not look busy at all, but apparently all booked up, according to a rude waiter who met us at the door. We were baffled whilst looking around the empty tables and chairs, and asked whether it was possible to accommodate - a rude 'no' came from the man who met us. It was around 17.30. As anyone with small children will know, our intention was to eat fast and get back in time for bed as quickly as possible (we live opposite end of London, and due to sit on Jubilee line for another hour). As we turned around to leave, something seem to dawn on the man, he asks us to wait for a moment. Perhaps it was the looks he was getting from other punters, realising how bad it looked that he was rudely turning away a young family. We just said we'd move on, as we were clearly not welcome. He just shrugged his shoulders and said 'ok then' - as if this was clearly our fault. Some 90 minutes later, we walked past the restaurant having eaten elsewhere, plenty of tables still free. Disgraceful behaviour really.

I was told the driver was outside he was not. I explained to him multiple times to just come further up the road to the door. He called me and was sure he was outside and was at 15 when it clearly says 55 on my booking and he was not apologetic. My food was freezing. He was rude. Just not good enoufh

The worst salad I ever ate. It wasn't eatable. The chicken breast tasted as one day old, freezing cold, boiled, not grilled, the egg cold and the sald leaves where chopped with an axe.

Recommended to all but definitely for a quieter experience it is ideal, away from the rush of Westfield. The manager is great and the pizza was delicious. Definitely my place to go in Stratford. Great for family, friends or business lunch. Use your deals in here too. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a quick lunch on Thursday whilst having a meeting in the theatre. Was met by incredibly charming manager who managed to persuade me into a dessert I definitely didn’t have room for! Her service was fantastic and I would come back here for her alone. However the food was great and just another reason! Hats off to the venue, was very nice and when back in the area I will definitely be back!

My order was so late and the quality of the pizza is definitely not pizza express standard… I’ve never had a pizza look like this when dining in. So I’m assuming they don’t care about the customers who order online?

Good food with prompt service, and pleased to use the app to find free dough balls too. Pizza was delicious as was dessert. As I was leaving a mouse came in, these things happen, but very disappointed that staff attempted to stamp on it in view of customers instead of removing it discreetly and humanely, and then investigating the problem later.

The base was nice but cold and burnt at the same time. It was not eatable. Pizza express doesn’t have good reviews and I know now why. I’ve called them and they said they will speak to just eat and ask for refund but I won’t hold my breath!

The classic Margarita pizza and the Giardiniera are the best. Make sure you ask for black pepper and chilli oil. For starters, the dough balls are an absolute delight. Especially with the garlic butter. Amazing stuff at pizza express!

Even through the update said the driver was at the restaurant, when i called he wasn’t there. Things didn’t resolve until the restaurant helped by calling just eat. The driver indicated he didn’t speak English when i asked him.

I would rank this a 5 star pizza chain in Stratford area. Quiet for sure compared to the one at Westfield itself, which is what I like about for families with young children to dine in. Been couple of times, service and food have been fantastic! Would come back to this place again for sure.

Good environment and was served by Nilisha she was really friendly and swift. The good was good too had Penne Al Forno with Garlic Prawns it was delicious.
