When visiting Norfolk on my own last September ( my wife having died in July) it was so comforting to have such a warm reception at Caley Hall's Pinewood Restaurant. Covid measures were in place without being overwhelming but more especially there was a wide selection food and drink, furthermore reasonably priced. Though staff were all young they had clearly been well-trained and were nreally professional and obliging. I'm due to spend a week back in Norfolk in August this year and will put the Pinewood on my banker list.

The food was very delicious and the service spot on.Very reasonably priced. I ate the beef, cooked perfectly. My partner had fish and chips, there was not a crumb left. We were relived to find such a lovely restaurant and bar after an awful experience across the road at the Lodge,

We ate at the Pinewood restaurant for two evenings, the menu was not very expansive however covered most people's needs. The young staff really do need training, the one who showed us from the bar to our table ran in front of us and was at the table before we got to the dining room. The 'enjoy your meal' and 'is everything alright' was said without feeling and and as the waitress was walking away from the table! The wine we requested when we ordered did not arrive and when we asked for it it did not arrive until after the main course was served. For £80 a couple for the meal service should have been vastly better.

Welcomed into the restaurant and drinks were quickly ordered. Plenty of choice available & wasn't long before we were served. Food nicely presented and cooked to perfection.

This place is a real find. Lovely fresh local food expertly prepared and very helpful staff. Like someone else said, I really cannot speak highly enough about my visit. Five stars plus!

Was taken here, with food cooked as it should be and two spoons provided when sharing dessert. Breakfast was a help your self buffet style arrangement.

This restaurant is located in the Caley House Hotel beside the main coast road. The carpark and overflow carpark were both full - so might be a problem in the summer. The restaurant looks as if it has been recently refurbished with nice chairs and good quality cutlery - however, it was very brightly lit which would be fine for a business lunch, but not for a romantic dinner. It took a long time for our order to be taken despite the restaurant being only half full - this lack of attention was to continue throughout the meal. In general the service was poor - we were not given bread though all other tables got some and ours was the only table without candle (there was a holder but no candle). The food was ok but let down by small details. My wild mushrooms on toast were well cooked but not enough mushrooms for the amount of toast. My wife's hamhock terrine came with no toast or bread. For mains, my wife had the belly of pork which was good but not remarkable. I had the hake which was tasty and well cooked - but the dish as a whole needed some sort of sauce with it - also I would have preferred the roasted vegetables to have been cooked for longer. I ordered a glass of the french blanc de blanc which the waitress referred to as the "house wine". Given that there were three wines by the glass at virtually the same price - I am not entirely sure what I was given. In any event it was nothing memorable. When eventually we got the dessert menus, we were given the wrong ones - at which point we gave up and asked for the bill. After another wait to pay, we were glad to go home. We had come some distance to the restaurant (as part of the North Norfolk restaurant week) and yes we were on the special menu - but we got the feeling we were not really welcome as staying guests. I also noticed that the staff let two children (guests) play on the floor spreading a large number of leaflets/postcards on the floor where the staff were bringing food to tables; these were then left on the floor while the children ate their meal and left. Needless to say, we will not be going back!

The food was fine, lovely pleasant staff. Trying to get a taxi back to where we were staying at 8pm was impossible, the staff tried for over 30mins, then Mike (manager I think) kindly gave us a lift back.

We had a great meal here with family. The food was great and so was the service! At the start it was very loud in the restaurant, but this didn’t last! The menu was great with plenty of choice. Definitely a good place for a meal and the price is not too high either!
