Needed a quick bite to eat on route to work. Stopped for a coffe and cake but I was tempted by a bacon roll. Cooked to perfection with an unbelievable flavour. I will take the trip from Aberdeen to pick up a few packs when on the weekend!

This place claims to have the best Bacon Sandwiches in the North East of Scotland, I’d have to disagree. I can’t imagine there is a better bacon sandwich anywhere in the the British Isles, top drawer stuff. The bacon is perfection, just mouth watering, I was told they use their own reared bacon and this seems to make a world of difference compared to the stuff you buy from the shops. If you’re in Alford you HAVE to go here, it’s a must., actually if you’re not in Alford then make it a day out just to go here. The staff also go to great lengths to help with any dietary requirements (my Daughter is Gluten intolerant) nothing was too much trouble. My only complaint is unless I make the 600 mile round trip to Alford, bacon sandwiches will now seem very bland by comparison. If I could give more than five stars I would….

A small cafe in Alford, Aberdeenshire also known as Sooo's Lug which intrigued me. Was not disappointed. Best quality bacon produced by master baconeer to go with great tasting coffee. The owner, Mark, is very enthusiastic about what he is producing. Brought loads of packed bacon home to try.

Regrettably I only had time time to stop for a takeaway coffee, but it was outstanding. So now its a regular stop. And I bought a bag of beans next time - also made great coffee at home. Hope to have time to stop for bacon roll soon. Great friendly service.

Having followed Piggery Smokery for a long time, today we actually made it out to Alford. What an amazing bacon roll and coffee. Definitely five stars. Looking forward to using some of the delicious looking bacon that we bought there also. Thanks again even with “one man down” the service was fantastic.

Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven. Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! 😬 Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.

We visited this Cafe after a long walk in the forest. Dogs are welcome inside the cafe. Inside there is a log burning stove, which was very welcome, the cafe had a nice rustic feel they do there own baking and my wife described the scone as the best she had. The coffee was lovely. We had visited the Cafe at the Cheese makers across the road which was very nice but had to sit outside with the dog. We will certainly be back here, probably for a lunch next time.

Visited here for Sunday "carvery" whilst staying onsite. Service was excellent by all staff members, however we were expecting a carvery where you help yourself to a selection of roast meats and veg. This wasn't the case it was just a regular Sunday roast prepared in the kitchen and served at your table. The roast itself was very average, the only veg being peas and carrots along with cheap tasting pigs in blankets. This was priced at around £21 pp for 2 courses,I think it was done as cheap as possible. Although the food tasted absolutely fine it was by no means anything other than average and definitely not a carvery.
