Called in for some lunch while visiting Arbroath, and was very glad I did. The food could not be faulted, and they do very nice coffee too. Well worth a visit.

The place looked clean and well presented, staff were friendly and keen to help , the cafe side looked just as good albeit I used the shop , the chilli sausage rolls are spot on , being a larger gentleman lol I had to show some restraint lol but yes I would recommend this place and I will return the next time I'm in the area !

Stopped by for lunch on way back from a funeral nearby. Wasn’t disappointed, the food was first class and and good value for Money . The cafe was spotless and the staff were lovely- polite, welcoming and very helpful. Really wish we lived closer to visit again . Thank you to you all 👏👏👏

The modern-day declaration of Arbroath: Pie Bob's does great food and fantastic cakes! The menu is inventive, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. And don't even get me started on the cakes. Very highly recommended.

Coronation chicken panini was delicious! Server with pink hair was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return!

Popped in with family on the way home after a weekend in Arbroath. This place is a gem. Delicious pies, an assortment of savouries and sweet patisseries. The service was warm and friendly. We wished we lived closer. I understand why this place has been open for 100 years.

Popped in when passing on route to Montrose. We had our 2 year old with us so soft play was a great surprise. Atmosphere was nice, lovely clean toilets. Service very good, food was tasty, good portions, what you would expect from a bakery cafe.

Brilliant place and open on a Sunday.

What a waste of time. The one thing Pie Bobs had going for it was 24 hour service. Clarkie’s wins on all food hands down. To be closed before midnight on a Friday is bad business. Didn’t go to uni either -.-

Tremendous! Had my 1st visit to Pie Bobs today during my break at work, heard about it for years & I was not disappointed, wish this was closer to home in Airdrie but I’ll hopefully be back soon

Visited Pie Bob’s many times for food from their takeaway. Today myself and my wife decided to try out their cafe. Surely I would have thought, to most people anyway, one would expect to find the same food as in the takeaway section. This is clearly not the case. After browsing the menu and not fancying any of the “upmarket” food, we opted just for a latte each. Got a takeaway on the way out. Certainly won’t be back in the cafe. Hope the management have made the correct decisions here. Seemed totally bizarre to us.

I've been here before albeit six years ago and I only called in for pies and sausage rolls ( it's a long way from home) Called in today and as well as buying many pies we went to the cafe. Opted for items from the festive menu and we were very happy we did. My Christmas Yorkshire pudding wrap was stunning with a pot of real gravy and garlic butter fries. My better half had a festive ciabatta with gravy and garlic butter fries. Service was great and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable when asked about menu items. All in all brilliant pies and cakes from the bakery and stunning food and drinks from the cafe. Well done Pie Bob's it's no wonder it's your centenary year 👏👏👏

Great bakers that have recently leveled up their game even more! Had takeaway soup with rolls and an empire biscuit today and it was all lovely. Hard to choose because everything looks so good!

I enjoyed my Sunday visit to Pie Bobs cafe in Arbroath and scoffed a southern fried chicken wrap, and washed down with pot of tea. Nice festive decorations aswell during my Nov 2024 visit.

Soup of the Day was Good But Not Hot , And Could of Done With More Tea in The Pot for Two . Otherwise We Have No Other Complaint.

I'm not exaggerating or anything here, I'm mentioning exactly how it was for me. You can make your own mind up about it. This review is about Arbroath Pie Bobs Cafe and Takeaway. Its the first time I tried out the Cafe bit. I went into the Arbroath Pie Bobs cafe on a Sunday afternoon for my dinner. The place has a cafe bit and a takeaway bit, all under the same roof, right beside each other. Both cafe and takeaway bits serve hot food. I drove about 20 miles from Dundee ( no Pie Bobs in Dundee). I was desperately needing the toilet. So I went in to the cafe bit, and says I'm needing to go to the toilet first, before I order up food. I was told " sorry the toilet is for customers only ". I said I need to go first ,then I'll order up. ( I was bursting for the toilet) I was told " sorry our kitchen for hot food is closed now , we only serve up coffee and cakes". ( at 3:30pm in the middle of the afternoon) I had to go to toilet ,so i went to the toilet ,as I couldn't hold it in any longer. After that I said ,I need hot food, from the takeaway bit. I got an unfriendly look from the staff member that I spoke to earlier, as I walked to the takeaway bit for food for my dinner. ( I was hungry). After purchasing hot food from Pie Bobs takeaway bit, I then went to the Pie Bobs cafe bit , right next to the takeaway bit ,and said can I have a coffee and cake to go with this hot food please. I was told swiftly and immediately ,that I cannot eat that in here , as they pointed directly at the hot food I just purchased from Pie Bob takeaway bit, right next to the Pie Bob cafe bit. I just walked out after that. I eat my hot food in my car instead . The hot food was fine. 2 star rating from me Star 1 :- the hot food I got was fine Star 2 :- the price for it, was what I kinda of expected to pay, in this day and age, for it. I left this exact wording review, and 2 star , of my experience on the google review, of the Arbroath Pie Bobs Cafe and Takeaway. That's what happened anyway You can make your own mind up about it.

Pie bobs is great, I love the food. Only disappointment was that you can't get one of their lovely pies in the pie bobs cafe which seems strange when it's called pie bobs!

The best pies cakes etc anywhere

First of all food excellent service very good but then got confused can't order pies in pie bobs cafe or any of pie bobs cakes in shop someone talk me through that one please so ridiculous 😀 it's laughable who made this silly rule 😀 await reply from maybe bob himself many thanks

My son went up to Arbroath on leave, asked him to bring me back 10 Scotch pies, he duly did as he was asked. When he went to order them, he was asked what are Scotch pies 😲...I dont know what he brought back down but I can tell you one thing for certain, they were not Scotch pies....to be fair, the pastry was nice....the meat contents, definitely not so. Not recommended, especially if the staff don't know the difference from a mutton to beef pie.

Great place for breakfast. Lovely staff. Cleanest toilets ever which is a massive plus from me. We bought so pies and sausage rolls to take with us from the bakery. Sadly, the sausage rolls were extremely underwhelming.

Stopped over in Arbroath and came across this place. Shop looks amazing as does the cakes and pastries in the display unfortunately it stopped there. Meringues were over baked on outside and raw inside, cheesecake donut had an awful taste no idea what it was.Sugar donuts were very dry, Chicken pie had a weird texture, large bridies had like mushy dry meat.Asked the girl serving whats in the breakfast pie she said breakfast stuff I don't know. On a plus side apple slice was good and sausage rolls were ok.We spent £30 and most of it went in the bin!! Next time we are in Arbroath we will give this a miss. Monday 23/9/24. Customer service training desperately needed for the young staff serving !!! Very disappointed Bob!! 🙄

Est. 1925, Pie Bobs knows what they're doing when it comes to pies, cakes and great tastes. We bought a chilli nacho pie, a breakfast pie, a Mac n cheese pie, a sausage roll and a cake today. Nice and warm, always delicious, great price and this location now has a cafe inside, which was modern, popular and plenty of staff. They also had seats outside and are dog friendly. This place is legendary, definitely worth a stop if you're in Arbroath.

A lovely Bakery welcome and a good chat with staff. The food was great and at a great price. Better than up the road. Open late which is a dinner bonus. Especially for all you campers.

Absolutely the best pies we've had. Well filled, recommend the steak and gravy, lasagne pies were insane, and the Balmoral was incredible. Not only well filled and big, but absolutely brilliant price. They will heat any of your pies up for you to eat aswel, only takes a few minutes! Staff are lovely and cheery, each one of them, whilst being speedy and professional. I will travel hours back to Arbroath just for this pie shop it's THAT amazing.

Great bakery with delicious assortment of pies and cakes. Last time in, I stopped for a bacon cheeseburger to take away. It was served surprisingly fast and very tasty. They’ve recently opened a new cafe section for people to sit in.

By far the best pies all favourites and just love the Cornish pasties, quality all round and staff so friendly and helpful

I had the special, Falafel & Halloumi Wrap. Very well constructed and good portion size. Very tasty and I'd thoroughly recommend.

First time trying out the new café, very nice place would definitely recommend. Service was abit slow but to be expected on new business, food was great and prices are just right I think but everyone to there own, please try it out for yourselves.

Pie Bob's the Baker has been in Arbroath for nearly a century. They have recently opened a cafe, and it is a lovely place to meet with friends for breakfast or even a simple roll and tea. The service we received was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. The best part of the breakfast was that you can build your own something that is lacking in so many other places, well done, guys, for taking on that challenge. Good freshly cooked grub just the way you like it. Dog and kid friendly.

Got to love pie bobs. They keep reinventing themselves. But most importantly their food remains the same exact quality as when I was a child. Brilliant.

Popped in to the new cafe for a quick morning roll and coffee. Nicve atmosphere and design. Service was quick and friendly. Bacon and egg roll was excellent. Lovely soft roll and tasty ingredients. The Late was a bit small and too frothy (It was more a cappucino), but that was the only thing worthy of criticism. Prices were good too. Nice job Bob!

Lovely food, attentive service. Busy today so a little slow in getting the food to the table. Great tasty food though. Would come again and thoroughly recommend! Daughter very happy with ham and cheese toastie. Drinks order came at the speed of light, well almost!

An absolute gem of a place, on a holiday from Australia and was looking for breakfast when we discovered Pie Bobs cafe, we had a couple of square sausage rolls, cappucino, and 2 empire biscuits! Excellent food, and presentation, the young lady who served us was exceptionally pleasant, refreshing to get some old school quality food and service, thank you very much.

Everything looks delicious, loads of choice

Oh my God how good are these pies! Bought two this morning which stayed in my work bag all day. got them home and after an hour in the fridge I warmed them in the airfryer for six minutes. The result was two magnificent pies full of delicious meat and nachos ........ 10/10 and I am cursing the fact that I live 278 miles away!!!!

You MUST visit Pie Bob's! This place is 2nd to none! The food...ALL the food is excellent. I so wished I stayed closer as I would be here all the time. Anyone I know going near here I tell them they MUST buy something. Too much to list BUT EVERYTHING I've had is value fir money and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. Some construction at my last visit fir fhe addition of a cafe on site which will be good. There is a car park at the pack and side of the shop. With it being right on the main road it is ideal. Go on treat yourself get along to Pie Bob's.

The food is lovely. The cakes are nice especially the truffles. Its a shame when you walk in and get a feeling the staff dont want you there. I left feeling more like a burdon than a wanted customer.

Has to have the best morning rolls I’ve tasted in years! The pastries are not to shabby either - I just wish I lived closer so I could go every day for lunch. Has the best tasting pies and bridies I have ever tasted - you can’t beat the steak and onion bridie! The chillie sausage roll is unbeatable too. And their cakes and buns are to die for - the best fudge donuts possibly in Scotland! And now they have opened a cafe you you don't need to move all day!

My fellow pie loving friend raved about Pie bobs to me. We live just over 2 hrs away and while being thru in Abroath she grabbed me a couple of pies! Iv ate a lot of pies over my life and these were up there with the best of them! I will make a point of going back to Pie Bobs😋

Always loved going from Forfar to Arbroath for pies and cakes at Pie Bobs, but seems to have lost that part that made it so fantastic. Like many once up the ladder of success the drive to please falls by the wayside. I have no doubt for those with no interest in anything other than simply stuffing a pie in their mouths that the service and attitudes are good enough to this day. Bad service from staff who clearly see most as an interruption to their evening. Food was given heat, on eating from the 4 pies, one was warm, two were warm outer with inner and base cold to the chill, one complete cold. Clearly an effort to warm pies, time gone by this was never an issue, cold food, service just as cold ... atmosphere only for those in to play with the two younger girls hanging around in background looking like they ran the show. Was always my favourite ... I will try once more but if this is the way of a business as it rises to success then im afraid im done with it. I am sure Pie Bobs couldnt care less as a few customers move away from them, but I think it should be a clear sign this drop in standard eventually leads to high quality shop such as Pie Bobs going down hill to becoming a towns "Grease stained bus stop cafe". Hope these awful dropped standards seen tonight 9th March 2024 dont become the new white van and truck driver style standard of Pie Bobs.

We were visiting family in Scotland, and always love getting food from here. Delicious food and a fantastic range to choose from. Very good value, especially with the mystery 'Too Good to Waste' boxes. We always go in when we're nearby.

Your version of the Aberdeen Butteir (Rowie) is more like a pancake and a crumpet combined. Lacks the ingredients to pull off a Rowie.

A good, honest and down-to-earth bakery. Great selection of tasty pies - to eat warm or take home for later. The filled rolls are actually ‘filled’…unlike what you get in those supermarket meal deals. Always enjoy popping here to grab a pie when heading off for a day on the hills.
