Paya Cuisine in Hammersmith and Fulham

We have used Paya for a long time - as the food and portion size has always been good. However our last few orders have been extremely late arriving - this last time it was 2 hours late and I had to call to chase it 3 times! Not good at all - hence the poor review - when you call the staff always seem to be too busy to speak and do not seem to want to take orders. I think that - if the restaurant is busy - they should stop taking orders and wait for it to calm down - rather than leaving people who have ordered to be delivered 2+ hours. We have made the decision that we will not be using Paya again.

This was a terrible experience- me and my friend got foodvery sick about 2 hours after eating and were vomiting all night- when i called to complain, stating i am a regular customer and was disappointed and wanted a refund on this occasion, it toom a week for someone to call me back then they refused any refund and said i could have 40% credit for next time. I said after being violently ill and having to take time off work as i work in a hospital, i would like a full refund as i wouldnt be eating there again so credit was kind but pointless They refused to acknowlege

Used to be great value and good food from a large menu. Last few months have seen the quality decline, all of the interesting dishes removed from menu, the prices hiked by 40% ( yes I do mean almost half), and toddy the food was 1/2 hour late and cold. Never again.

We have never had an issue with Paya - always quick delivery, very tasty and it's worth the price as the portion sizes are huge. We love the egg fried rice and the duck dishes, and highly recommend the Peking Grilled Chicken. The packaging is nicer than the normal plastic too.

Ordered from just eat and it was horrible, I didn’t finish it all, the chicken was really over cooked seemed like it had already been warmed up numerous times before and it was super dry, hard and tasteless. I wouldn’t order from here again, very disappointed.

After reading the reviews I was quite unsure whether to order from this establishment. My experience was excellent. I ordered through Just eat which was a breeze. A set meal for two with an extra order of duck, dad likes that. In summary, the rice was light and fluffy, the spring rolls were tasty, the prawn toast was a delight. The meals, duck, chicken and beef were all fresh. I loved the beef. The duck was very tasty and had a succulent sauce. I was visiting dad from my home in Liverpool which is one of the oldest Chinese communities and have eaten a lot of meals up there. This meal was second to none. My dad talks a lot but hardly said anything during the meal. The portions were great and he's looking forward to his leftovers tomorrow. Well done Paya, a great end to my trip to London. See you on my return.

I must admit that it is Chinese New Year, so local takeaways are extremely busy. Having tried Good Friend (my go to) and being told the wait for delivery/collection was 2 1/4 hrs, I looked to Uber Eats (first time). Paya came up as the most popular. I can only assume that this is for one time visitors only. I suppose it is maybe unfair if I compare to a place that is as busy as GF, but it was my next choice. Never again. The only complements I can give is that the food came quickly and was hot. My first frustration was the the increased prices on Uber compared to their website. Tried ordering this way but their card facility wasn’t working. I then has to re-order everything through the Uber app. The prawn crackers were nice. So was the seaweed. Other than that everything was bland and relatively tasteless. The beef just tasted of chilli and the egg rice was very salty. The other dishes were all similar (despite being different sauces and meats!). The duck, wow! Maybe they tried to beat the rush and pre cooked them earlier in the week. Or maybe they accidentally served me the wooden duck they use to whack the others over the head to kill them! In short. We had plenty left over, and none was saved for tomorrow. To add insult to injury, a pal called Good Friend an hour after me and had a delivery within 90 mins. They were very happy and smug!

Ordered from Paya online, first they forgot our bbq ribs. We called the restaurant and the lady tried everything under the sun to not send the missing item. My husband explained to her that this was the only dish he had ordered as the rest of us didn't eat meat, so they agreed to send the missing ribs. Then we swiftly discovered we had been sent chicken soup instead of crab. Being a pescatarian for 18 years, you can imagine how upset I was. When we called the restaurant we were told that they had already sent the driver with the ribs and had no way of contacting the driver to come back to collect the correct soup. The lady quite bluntly advised me there was nothing they could do. Absolutely appalling customer service and the food that we did receive was overpriced and just average tasting. Avoid at all costs.

We ordered a takeaway and it was so awful we could not eat it. My wife and I called the the ‘self proclaimed" manager who agreed a 50% refund I said he could put it on the card we ordered with but he said he would rather send someone with £20.00 cash. No one turned up . Spoke to someone else who was extremely rude and he said the other chap was not the manager. So not only was the food awful what was then told about the refund was completely dishonest and rude!!

I had ordered our dinner from a different Chinese restaurant, but they estimated 1 1/2 hours for delivery. I noticed PATA were offering 15-30 minute delivery, so ordered a mixed starter platter to snack on, while I waited for the other place to deliver. (any guesses why I'm a fatty?) I have to say that the food in the starting platter was absolutely AMAZING. The smell, the flavours, the texture. Oh my golly gosh, its the best Chinese food I've had anywhere in the UK. There have obviously been some changes since the bad reviews in 2018. I can't wait to make a selection from the full menu to see if all their dishes are as tasty.

I usually order my takeaway here most Sunday evenings and I must say I’ve found it’s one of the best in the area. If anyone can recommend a better one in the Park Royal/Acton area then please let me know. I’ve found that if I try anywhere else I’m disappointed and always come back to Paya. I’ve always enjoyed the food here and have never had to wait too long, and the orders have always been correct. I love the black bean sauce dishes (beef and prawn are both amazing) and of course you can’t go wrong with a chicken curry and chow mien! Will continue to order here for my Sunday Chinese fix.

Instead of potatoes in the massaman curry there were chips? Sauce was nice though and it was quick service

Waited 2 hours for for food and when chased the buffoon at restaurant said it was our fault for ordering on a Saturday . Who ever answered the phone and said this is an idiot. Don’t waste your time ordering here, if I had known what was going to transpire I would have had a cheese sandwich. Diabolical service, suggest you avoid.

Ordered once via Just-Eat and got food 2.5h later. No offer made until i called to ask them about it, they said ring back next time and they’ll give me a discount. 20% off one order (there’s a 10% offer on Just Eat at the time anyway!). Food is ok but service at your own risk!

The website allowed me to get in and add stuff to my order only for me then to realise I had paid for 2 orders instead of adding the items for the first order. Can I get this refunded please. The food was delicious but it was way too much so we ended up wasting most of it.

I have no problem with food being late on a Saturday night, I get that it’s busy. Somehow the driver thought I had called to complain about the delay (which I hadn’t) and had a right go at me. I called Paya to find out why the driver thought I had complained. The guy who answered said he never told the driver anything, sorry and the driver has only just started. I have been a customer for many years at Paya, I expect better customer service than this. btw, probably because it is so busy and they had to rush, the crispy chicken balls aren’t cooked through.

Delivery time was 5 mins but food arrived piping hot 15 mins earlier than expected. Dishes were all very tasty, the noodles were the only dish we found to be average but they tasted great with the curry

My family and I always have food from here and it never fails to impress. The food is tasty, fresh and portion sizes are generous too. I would recommend anyone who enjoys this cuisine to give this place a go. It is reasonably priced too.

food quality has gone really poor with this restaurant. food was bland no flavour whatsoever. spring rolls have been fried several times not fresh at all. and they were burnt! more veg in the food than anything else just to fill the box. spoke to someone from Paya who promised to refund me half the amount I paid but so far no contact at all! I ordered from here every week, never again. don’t waste your money.

Great food as always and on time, only issue that the coke was not cold and as I'm at work i had no ice and it wasn't much fun to drink warm coke with such a delicious food.. otherwise no issues.

Everything was really good. My partner doesnt like duck but said my roast duck was The best has ever had tender and tasty. All our starters came with a dipping sauce which is great. Definitely be ordering again. Couldn't see spring rolls (pancake rolls) on the menu tho.

The hot and sour soup very sweet and contained a lot of tofu which wasn’t very nice. The chow mein, seaweed, rice and Szechuan stir fry was nice. A bit late but very friendly delivery guy.

food was very disappointing. starter of fried chicken wings was bland. sczechuan chicken main wasnt spicy at all and also bland. chicken. was a tad slimey too. pad Thai was unauthentic. noodles were in overcooked and far too sweet. Chinese chicken curry was ok. after spending £35 overall the meal was incredibly underwhelming

Glad I tried it as I was a bit worried that other users had some difficulty with delivery time. Chicken fried rice was great and prawns in Kung pa were good quality. Was first time ordering kung pa and found it very vinergary and acidic but that is personal taste. Husband had fried squid rings with chili which were excellent. Will order again

This was one of my worst experiences ordering food with a delivery service. Our food arrived close to 11:30pm on Valentine’s evening when we had ordered close to 9pm. My girlfriend and I fought with nothing but hunger to fill our evening. Never ordering with Just Eat again if I can help it.

should have been delivered 21:45. restaurant added 30 mins to delivery time after around five minutes from paying. I tried to ring every five minutes but the line was always busy. restaurant finally delivered at 22:50 over 1 hour beyond the agreed delivery time when I paid. I sent the driver away and will never order from here again.

Could not contact the restaurant when our food was running late. No sort of apology fr the driver. Will not order fr here again.

Shocking service from these guys. Ordered a dish of spring onion and ginger. They just dumped a load of ordinary onion in it . No other veg. When I complained They didn’t care or want to know. I asked for a refund He refused and did not care.

Around the fourth time we’ve ordered from paya and we’ve loved it every single time. A lot of takeaways in this area have been quite disappointing but not this one, definitely a favourite.

Ordered take-away through Hungry House hoping there would be some improvement at this place after a horrific experience a year ago - nope, still rubbish as ever so I can't understand how they're still in business.

The food was substandard for a London restaurant in my opinion for what I paid. The order was 20 minutes late and was cold by the time it got here.

Resaonable delivery service. Arrived earlier than expected...chow mein wasnt too oily and the beef black bean was brilliant. Downside is the delivery man would not come up to my flat and there was no complimentary crackers delivered like other restaurants.

Paid via credit card on website and then sent relative to collect but asked for payment in restaurant too. Thankfully sorted very quickly by staff

Everything was great! It'd be good if they'd make similar things easier to differentiate, you can't really tell chicken rolls and prawn ones apart from the outside!

Food was nice but I have had food better elsewhere. I would not recommend the chop suey as I found this too sweet and mainly was only bean sprouts with a little bit of other vegetables. I also ordered braised tofu with mix vegetables but found little bits of beef or pork that got in accidentally to the cooking. Luckily I am not a vegetarian but I wouldn’t recommend vegetarians eating here as they could mix up

Chicken soup is actually chicken jelly with no flavour, the pad Thai is just rice noodles covered in sweet chilli sauce which overwhelms everything so it’s all you can taste but the black bean was pretty standard

We were celebrating and decided to order a takeaway from Paya Cuisine on Green Lanes Dagenham having had nice food from them in the past, at just under £40 it was double what we pay for similar orders from other local takeaways but as it was a special occasion we went for it. When it arrived the satay chicken was missing it’s sauce and in contrast everything else was swimming in watery sauce which made it very hard to eat. We phoned and told them they’d forgotten the satay sauce only to be asked “are you sure” after convincing the person on the phone that we were sure he agreed to send us some, this took almost as long as the food had and by then the food was cold and chewy, the peanut sauce tasted burnt and it was almost inedible. This totally spoilt what should have been a very nice meal and I will not be ordering from them again.

The food was rather tasteless. The crispy seaweed was particularly awful - tasteless, chewy and very oily.
