The starters : chicken satay - dry and cold. Steam roll, pork and prawn - slimy. Fish cakes: okay but cold. Mains; Green curry - okay. Beef cheeks - meat was dry and tired. Thai minced chicken with chilli and Basil - tasteless and not a hint of basil or chilli. Cocktails : served room temperature. Prosecco served room temperature. £275 not well spent. Disappointing

Had pre theatre lunch this week, the service was excellent, the food was delicious. Most enjoyable and we will certainly return!

It was elegant and refined without being fussy. The food is wonderfully flavored with layers of different spices.

Service was ok. But kitchen was poor. Served salad with nuts even when informed about allergies. Luckily discovered the issue before the person with allergies had some. Returned and replaced without nuts. Lamb chops were rock hard and burnt black on one side. Returned and cancelled from bill. Somewhat disappointed overall. Ambiance ok. Feels run down a little. Not returning.

I have been a regular customer of Patara Soho, London for many years. I had lunch there today and as always informed the manager that I am a strict vegetarian and ordered the vegetarian green curry. The meal was even presented as "vegetarian", however, after trying two bites of the curry, I realised that the curry was not vegetarian and I had been given chicken. I do not eat meat due to religious and moral grounds and I was horrified. I did not want to make a fuss during the lunch as I was with a business client but this is totally unacceptable. Luckily, I was not allergic to the food. I was also charged the full amount for the meal. Upon notifying the restaurant of this, I'm pleased to say that they did rectify the situation by conducting a thorough investigation and have taken corrective measures to ensure that this will never happen again. They have also retrained their staff. This is very much appreciated.

Most of the food we had was excellent, unfortunately the signature Lamb Shank dish was a bit disappointing.

We hadn't eaten here for about a year, but the food was superb as per our previous visit, this time four us and they were generous portions. We were running late due to heavy traffic in our taxi, so I called the restaurant to advise this (as per the booking instructions), and they kindly kept our table even though we were 20 minutes late. Friendly and helpful staff, happy to recommend and will definitely go back again.

Had 2 courses from the lunch menu - the food tasted wonderful and was presented beautifully. And al for a bargain £19.99. We will be back.

I really hate to give a poor review as I know how very hard everyone works in hospitality but London is hugely competitive and we could have gone to any number of Thai Restaurants. Patara is in the heart of the tourist area and so was bound to be busy but there were a few empty tables even on this Saturday night - whereas I could not get a table at four other Thai restaurants I had contacted. The welcome was warm and friendly and the menu varied. But sadly the food was not good. My Pad Tai was dry, sticky and tepid. My starter of mushrooms was soggy and flavourless. The rest of my family said they quite enjoyed their food; the beef cheek in particular. It's expensive for what we had - including £4.95 for a small bottle of water.

Very delicious. However, be prepared to pay. Also the starters are quite small portions for what they charge.

We’ve been regulars at Patara for years. The last two times, I’ve been shocked at the bill. The prices are unjustifiable for a chain restaurant. The servers were out of sight most of the time. Drinks took forever. The food was Patara quality which is decent. But the prices are atrocious. Not at all worth the money. I can get an incredible meal with sommelier service and 6 servers including the manager making sure we’re catered to for about £50 more at Beast. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to Patara.

I had high expectations for this place based on reviews and website photos and descriptions of the food , but I was really disappointed. Service was poor, took ages to get the attention of someone to even take our order and when the food came, one of the dishes was not what I'd asked for. Food was average. Calamari starter was good but the mains were bland, lacking in the Thai flavours I was expecting and the chicken was dry, very over cooked.

Had a quick lunch here and ordered the tom yum soup with prawns and a noodle dish with beef. Service was attentive and food was good. Place is conveniently located off regent St and it's easy to find.

The starters came out very quickly and we're all cold. The sticky rice were not cooked to perfection. Far too sticky. The sea base was coveted up with sweet sauce not marinated. Overall not good value for money. The food seems rushed and quality was below what I'd expect from such a restaurant. I won't be going again.

Food was too salty so we weren't able to eat. Shame.

Great food especially Chilli Sea Bass and Lamb Shank. Service from Napoleon was also fab. Plus they brought out a desert for my 50th. Would definetly visit again.

This is a hidden gem in the centre of the West End. The food is fantastic and the prices very reasonable.

Excellent food, presentation and service. All the staff made our party of 3 feel welcome. A special menu was available for gluten free requirements which was a welcome touch for one of our party. We were not under pressure to leave after lunch and so enjoyed our meal and family catch up even more. This has always been one of my favourite restaurants and it is good to see it continues its commitment to good food and service. Will be returning.

The taste was alright, but I found the chicken in the curry half-raw, which never happened in other Patara ( I have been to the one near Knightsbridge, their food was amazing). Besides, Tom Yum Goong soup is approx 150ml? not worth £12.5, they should at least increase the amount or make it cheaper.

The late lunch was superb especially the lady who served us . I am not good to get her name Jun (maybe/guessed)😓. She did her best to give us extra service, overall the foods was great , ambience was good as we came in afternoon probably not crowded.We came there to celebrate my mom’s birthday and really it’s a memory we can remember in coming many more yrs. We were looking for somewhere we hadn’t been on our last night in London and I’m so glad we booked this! From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well and the food matched the service. I had the dumplings and then the king prawn green curry…wow! Will definitely visit again 🤗

This was always one of my favourite restaurants pre Covid times, so it was lovely to return for the first time and find the food, service and surroundings as good as before, and even better with a new photographic menu. Lots of choice for my friend who is vegetarian. Both meals were beautifully presented and tasty. We were not rushed, when we took time to order. Attentive service but not over the top. We were made to feel welcome from the start. Will definitely be returning.

It hasn’t been our first visit to Patara and each time the food is fantastic and service faultless.

The food was ok , the soup was cold and didn’t have that distinctive taste . The seabass was almost perfect. The scallops wins the award , highly recommended . The ambiance and location is very good. Each time I visit London I visit the place.

The service was absolutely brilliant, and it was only natural that the food would be exquisite as well. We were welcomed warmly by everyone and looked after throughout the night. The food was delicious and served at the right temperature. It is one of my favourite Thai restaurants and I will be coming back again.

Main dish came out wrong. Friends dish came correct so he had finished before my correct dish came out, so ate seperately, nothing done to correct the service, apart from service charge removed which is at discretion anyway, therefore is insignificant. Disappointed after being a repeat customer.

I’ve been to Patara before but never to the Oxford Circus branch. Delicious food, varied menu and great service. I ate there with my friend, who is vegetarian and it had a wide choice of veggie options. Definitely recommend.

Was easy to find off reagent street, close to Oxford Circus. Easy to book and communication was good. Please surroundings, a little Packed in. Service was quick and pleasant. The food was lovely, the only thing I did not get were the Thai Prawn Crackers, but problem would have been too much.

While food is very good, it is very expensive for what is provided. Plus just too long waiting between starters and main courses. It seemed other customers were being served way before us.

This is my 5th visit to Patara and I usually love the food here, yellow crab curry is my favourite. However, on this occasion the food was average at best. The chicken satay was well below par, the restaurant didn’t have any crab and served the yellow curry with prawns, again well below par. I hope this is a one off, as I usually love the food here.

As usual the loveliest lunch beautifully served and delicious. Great value in a wonderful Thai ambiance.

The lime and chilli was delicious but was cold. We asked if it is served cold but it’s the cold sauce they throw on top that makes it cold. I would recommend this dish if it’s served hot. The ginger curry a bit chewy and not very flavourful but the morning glory was nice. Rice pots were very small and needed 3 for 2 of us. The papaya salad was ok Iv had much better. When I made the booking I made a note that it was my husband’s birthday and our anniversary celebration but there was no acknowledgement of this.

It was my first time eating Thai, and I have to say it was outstanding! Dishes rich in color and flavour, impeccable presentation, reasonable prices for a restaurant in the center of London. Rich portions and first courses full of fish! Friendly, attentive and fast service. If you want to taste this particular cuisine, I recommend you to come here!

The poor waitress was overworked as not enough staff. The service was very slow but waitress was very good. Shame the main dish I wanted was out of stock

One of the best Thai authentic resturant to visit in heart of London. The food was delicious and whole experience was awesome. I would recommand to definitely visit this restuarant. Truely amazing expience and value for a money. I would definitely visit again and again.

The food was great and the service was good. I did feel it was a bit over priced though.

The staff were ok but some need further training for expanse the opens bottle of White wine was left on the table with ice bucket in full view, after about 10 minutes I had to ask for an ice bucket. The food was ok but everything was lukewarm. I also thought for the price the portions were small. It was incredibly overpriced. The restaurant is really tired and the toilets were a disgrace. The men’s toilet didn’t even have a toilet seat. The tiles on the wall in restaurant were dirty and covered in dust. We are recently at the soho branch and it was really good, the food was hot, the portion sizes Good and the service good.

The service was really really bad . We had to keep asking for stuff . For example I literally had to ask for rice 3 times ! When the rice came the curry was almost cold ! But when the bill came they had charged for 4 cups of rice while they only gave one . The appetizer came after the main dish !

The staff were very attentive and food the food came on time and our wine glasses were topped up regularly. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price we paid.

We had to wait 35 minutes for starters to be served due to a problem in kitchen, we were charged for prawn crackers which we thought were complimentary due to the delays and then told they have run out prawn crackers, we were charged for the prawn crackers that never arrived, and we were charged 12.5 percent service charge even after a long wait for food to come , when I asked for that extra amount to be refunded I was told to write an email, so even though the food was good I was disappointed with the unexpected charge for prawn crackers, lengthy wait for food to be served and then have the audacity to charge 12.5 percent service charge, there was no diversity in the staff, they don't want to train the staff to avoid such billing mistakes and delays and then want to charge for service....how can they justify this...on top of the extremely over priced food and drinks.

Food and service was nice however staff should pay more attention to the bill and careful not overcharge customers. We were overcharged for something we didn’t have. After we paid we realized that there was something on the bill we haven’t received.

Service staff was amateur at best. Mixed up the order and served us Chicken curry instead of the Vegetable curry that was ordered. On being called, insisted that the chicken was mushrooms! Thankfully on raising a fuss, another staff member intervened and had it changed.

Food was mediocre at best. Tried to order a Cosmopolitan which is specified on the menu under cocktails. They just said they could not make it. Next ordered a vodka tonic and was told they couldn't do this either so another waiter came over to take the drink order. They did in fact get this drink made. Slow and chaotic service. Puzzled by the great reviews this place had. Very bland food and absolutely would not go back.

A very handy restaurant for post Oxford and Regent Street shopping. Lovely ambience and very courteous and efficient staff. The food was well presented but erred on the bland side - although this could have been due to our choices of Pad Thai and stir fried vegetables. We also found it quite expensive for comparatively small portions. Very tasty dessert, though.

Patara is a must visit each time we come to London We shared several starters and had different main courses for dinner. Each was very special and tasty. I enjoyed Beef Cheeks which was as tender as possible. Highly recommended
