Wonderful night, Monikas service was exceptional. Also, thanks to Joel for the mini tour of the dry ageing fridge etc. Decided on a number of small plates with a few cocktails and beers. Recommend the roasted carrots and char sui pork. Will be back to try the steaks soon!

My husband and I booked a lunchtime reservation on the off chance and I’m so glad we did. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The servers were helpful and friendly - staff like this are rare to come by these days and they made the whole experience feel really special. The quality of the food and the cooking itself was top notch and the bill very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Well, what can I say? We were greeting at the door very promptly by a lovely host and taken to our table, but the whole attention drew to our server Gio. She was one of the BEST servers I have ever had in my life. She attended to our needs quick, gave us amazing recommendations and treated us with amazing service. I would 100% come back just to be served by her again. Genuinely made our night.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate son’s 21st. Food was of the highest quality and the meat was cooked to perfection. Very attentive service especially as one of our party had a GF allergy and staff selected alternate dishes. Amazing value which would be near double in London. We’ll be back!!

We had the best time. First I’d like to mention Joel! He was on his A game. He was so attentive, informative, funny and welcoming. What a lovely chap. The other staff were super lovely too. The food was superior. You certainly get what you pay for… such quality and tasty meat. The best steak, cooked to perfection- we have ever had! My family would highly recommend. We will go again, for sure. They even surprised us, coming out at the end with Happy Birthday plates, brownie squares & candles for our birthdays. We really enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing from the drinks to the food I was not disappointed. Took my friend as a treat and she said this is her new favourite place. Can not praise the staff enough they were so helpful and when I said I had a mussel allergy. The chef came out personally to talk to me. Have been trying to book a table for 2 for months and failed so dropped in and got a bar table. The food was superb, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was excellent. The only reason I haven't given a 5 was that the Cariad wine should have a better description on the menu, it wasn't a cheap bottle of fizz and it was definitely an acquired taste. The other minor blip was the benches we were sat at were not comfortable, this could be intentional to keep a quick turnover but little hooks to hang coats under the table and bars to rest feet would help us older folk enjoy the experience without engaging our core throughout 😊

We went for dinner two days ago after a friend recommended us, and had one of the best steak experiences. Our server Lin was amazing, very welcoming and went out of her way to introduce the menu to us. For starters, we had the Smoked Beef Carpaccio. It arrived with smoke on top, which added to the beautiful presentation and flavour, tasting like a burst of umami. We also had the Kohlrabi Som Tam as a side, which was refreshing, contrasting the rich meaty flavours of the steak and porkchop. For meats, we had a 200g Sirloin and a Porkchop. Both meats were dry-aged, the sirloin being beautifully seared with a nice crust, the inside being perfectly pink. Every bite was tender and juicy, and I was able to feel the charcoal flavour. We didn't use the garlic butter (one of the few sauces provided on the menu) as our steak philosophy is that a good steak doesn't need sauce to bring out flavour. The porkchop was brilliant alongside the steak, with a sweet brown sauce that was rich in flavour. The cherry on top was the pork rinds, perfectly accompanying the bold flavours of the porkchop. Alongside the delightful meal was a cozy atmosphere, and I think the window in the dry aging rack was an interesting feature, the customers being able to view meats being dry-aged in real life. Overall, the meal was delicious and the service from Lin was amazing, one of the best restaurants in Cardiff!

Exceptional staff. Really attentive and friendly

I made a reservation to this place from the great reviews I saw online. It held up to the reviews! I was warmly greeted and asked if I had any food allergies. When I told them I did the manager came over to me with a special menu that shows which dishes had my allergy and that they could alter or substitute things for me. Monica my waitress did a great job. Overall the experience and food was awesome would definitely come back and recommend to everyone. I really appreciated about the allergy awareness as it's not seen in my country. Thank you for a great experience!!

We ate at Pasture a couple of days ago as a birthday treat, having previously enjoyed its sister restaurant, Parallel, next door. Food quality was top notch and the service was excellent. It's not somewhere for a quick meal, as lunch lasted 2.5 hours, but if you're going for the experience then it's well worth it.

We were a party of eight. Everyone really enjoyed the evening. Great food, brilliant service, atmosphere, and the table in the vault was like our own private dining area - amazing!

Just spent the nicest couple of hours in a fab restaurant with the loveliest staff ever 😍. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them, what a team. The food was outstanding, padron peppers were the best I’ve tasted and don’t get me started on the main course, the Chateaubriand just melted, truffle chips, cabbage in the coals Omg 😋 beef fat bearnaise sauce, chimichurri, whiskey teriyaki sauce’s and topped off with an Old Cuban cocktail 🍸 even a nice little touch for hubby idea birthday some chocolate cake with a candle (it’s the little things 🥰) Will definitely be returning Thank you 🤩

The food was delicious and lived up to what we remembered from our previous visit. We felt, however, that it wasn’t hot. Joel and Tosin really looked after us. The fact that Joel took the time to come over and go through the gluten free menu and reassured my fiancé, was really appreciated and showed excellent customer service. Fantastic!"

A very lively atmosphere and music background the same. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable on menu and food choices to your preferences. Must say the 300g ribeye was one of the best and cooked to perfection. Our server made our night, was funny polite and caring. Needs a best server award.

Lovely food (chicken wings for starters, very tasty; ribe eye for main with whisky teriyaki sauce, didn't really need any sauce as it was so tasty without), great drinks, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. Pricey but highly recommended!

I had an amazing meal here on Thursday lunch time. Very welcoming and we had a very polite, friendly and helpful waitress called Veronica. We had the burnt ends as a pre starter along with some cocktails. I had a banana colada which was sensational. Then I had the carpaccio which was light and packed full of a citrus flavour. It was flawless. For my main I had the fillet steak with béarnaise sauce. It was medium rare. It melted like butter when I sliced through it. Also had the carrots with it which were both plentiful and tasty. A nice twist on just honey roasted. For pudding had the deconstructed cheesecake. The icecream was so smooth. Loved it. Was the perfect meal. Would highly recommend it.

Everything about this restaurant is superb, obviously not cheap but you get what you pay for.

As a group of 6 inc 2 youngsters we were very well looked after, the service was great, food was good, albeit a bit over seasoned for my liking, but overall an enjoyable lunch.

The food was superb everything was so delicious. We had the chateaubriand sunday dinner and everything was cooked to perfection. However the stand out for us was our incredible service from Lyn. On what was clearly a very busy mothers day her attention to detail was second to none. She noticed our 1 year old daughter trying to steal peas off our plate and unprompted brought her a little bowl over. It can often be daunting taking a young child out for food but Lyn made us feel so comfortable and this little gesture really did make us smile.

Despite several pleasant visits to Pasture, I’m bewildered by the lack of care and attention to our most recent, and only, complaint. Two out of a table of six fell ill for nearly a week after our visit to the restaurant on September the 30th. The management team have denied our illnesses were a result of eating at Pasture. We’ve been told there’s no correlation because ‘no other guests’ were ill. This review shouldn’t put you off attending as the staff are attentive, the service is good and the food has been good on a number of occasions. But If you do fall ill or have a negative experience, prepare for Pasture to go through an external H&S safety provider with the main goal of not taking accountability. Will not be in any rush to visit Pasture again after a lack of empathy for a once regular client.

The food was good and the service was great. We found the music a little loud, but that’s just us. We had the porterhouse sharing steak. Don’t park in the ncp car park if you don’t want to add £20 to your bill….we ran out of time and had to park or we’d miss our reservation. It is nearby though if you don’t mind.

Was served by Matteo, who was so friendly, informative, and kind.He asked us questions and gave insightful commentary on not only the food but also regular talk! A big highlight was Marius(apologies if spelt wrong) He was brilliant with my allergy, and made me feel at ease and comfortable.(uppa swansea) Lastly, the food? 10/10, the tomahawk was brilliant; the mushrooms divine, and the Malbec to go was perfect!

My partner has some allergies and intolerance, and was reluctant to have food here. Our server made sure everything was catered for and even walked through all the options with her, the chef made something not on the menu (which was the best food shes tasted in a long time). Highly recommend the professionalism of the team and will be back soon.

Starter and main were excellent, dessert less so.

Accommodating 8 rowdy lads for a double birthday celebration. We were able to seclude ourselves from other customers with glass sliding doors so we could make as much noise without disturbing other customers. Staff were excellent, and dealt with the one extremely drunken nightmare that joined us. Food sublime as always. Banana old fashioned cocktail is the Daddy. Kudos to Pasture Cardiff!

Was told I was being taken to the best steakhouse in Cardiff. I was not disappointed! Staff were friendly and welcoming, ran through the menu as there were a few of us. Provided recommendations and nothing disappointed us. The food was very tasty and could not fault it. I wasn’t sure with the amount of sides we’d ordered but they all tasted amazing! Forcing myself to eat everything as it was so good & I didn’t want to leave any of it. Can’t fault it and would highly recommend!

What an AMAZING evening! The customer service stood out to me so much! We were greeted by Mariam who was so friendly helping us choose our wines with an amazing personality, smile and knowledge behind the wines! We then were served by James who truly went above and beyond to make our evening special! He was a breath of fresh air! As well as Monica who was also very friendly! The food was so delicious! Best steak we’ve had in a long time as well as all the sides being cooked perfect! Whole evening was just amazing which made our catch up with friends extra special & we’ll definitely be returning! I didn't want to sit inside because... stuffy and terribly noisy. But you cannot eat food from the main menu on the terrace. Only terrace menu, what nonsense. No customer focus. I am ready to pay for the dish and take it out to the terrace, but I was told that these are the rules.

Omg! Wasn't a planned visit and originally looking at the menu, I wasn't fussed. My friend fancied a burger but also wasn't sure if she fancied what was on the menu either (didn't order a burger. anyway) We both odered the Market fish and the truffle fries. Wasn't expecting much, we were just hungry at this point as we had been out most of the day. I was was so wrong. Our fish and chips came out and looked amazing. The market fish was Monk fish. We had never tried before but it was amazing. Came out with salad and garlic butter. Honestly think whoever made this meal was a Michelin star chef and if they are not they should apply to be. I had a sticky toffee pudding for afters and my friend had a lemon dessert (maybe cheesecake) again also amazing. Best we had ever hed and also had some dessert cocktails. So wasn't expecting much going in but so happy we did have a meal here. Highly recommended. Thank you. Compliments to the chef and to our lovely servers.

Fantastic! We are visiting from Austin Texas known for great local restaurants and of course steaks. This place was truly a delight. There was nothing we didn’t love. The croquets were so good! The meats and sauces were devoured by our family. We had to keep reordering sides (salads, macaroni and cheese, fries) bc they were so good. The desserts were all great! One of our favorite vacation meals ever! Thank you!!!

From the very entrance we were met by friendly staff, who escorted us to the table and explained the menu in detail. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really exquisite: stylish interior, pleasant music, creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu turned out to be very diverse - you can find both classic dishes and original author's recipes.

This was our first visit to Pasture although we have visited Nightshade, their secret bar, previously. It was sensational! The food was exceptional, cannot recommend a visit enough. It was our second visit to this establishment and whilst the service was fantastic, the food this time around was not worth the price. Even though we had the largest Tomahawk steak on the board (1.3Kg), it was not worth the £130 price tag that accompanied it and looked very small (all bone). My partner had the 45 day dry aged burger, which again, she was a little disappointed with. She was not too keen on the cheese. The starters were ok, the crispy fried chicken wings were nothing special but the mushroom parfait was very tasty. We regularly visit different steak houses and for the total price we paid for dinner at Pastures (£221), expect to experience premium dining. However, this was not the case. The service was far better than the food, sorry guys.

Maysoon looked after us so well, she was really friendly, knowledgeable about the menu & interesting. The starters of Short rib Croquettes & Beetroot Tartare were fab. The Rib eye steaks with the Sunday Roast sides were amazing. Love the ambience. Would highly recommend!

Went to Cardiff Pasture for an early dinner (booking was at 1pm but as it’s currently 8.15pm while I’m writing this and I’m still full I doubt we’ll be eating much for the rest of the day 😂) with my partner for our anniversary and we were both blown away by the level of service, the quality of the food, and the general atmosphere of the place! It was our first time in the restaurant, I ordered the teriyaki fillet and my partner ordered the ribeye, both to the chefs recommendation and it was some of the best steak I had ever tasted. The waiter even managed to convince my partner (in the loveliest way possible) to try the caramel sauce with the chocolate dome (he’s not a fan usually) and he absolutely loved it! 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone, we will definitely be back again!

We went for valentines and had the valentines set menu. We had the best night from the minute we arrived till the minute we left. The service was exceptionally good, everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, especially our waitress. The food was all stunning, thoroughly enjoyed every bit. They made a small error with forgetting to replace one of the Rip Croquettes with a vegetarian option for the wife (much to my pleasure as they are amazing and i got 2), so not only did the bri g her her item, they gave us 2 free cocktails, which are also amazing. Highly recommend the Rasberry and Pistachio Expresso Martinis. Didn't know they had a bar downstairs, The Nightshade, which we greatly attended for some more great cocktails. A wonderful experience, defo going again.

Incredible meal at Pasture! This was our first time visiting and it did not disappoint. We had the CHÂTEAUBRIAND 1kg to share between the 2 of us, with beef fat chips and season greens and it was amazing! It was the best steak either of us had ever had 😍 Staff were friendly and we were able to sit at the bar and have a drink as we arrived early! See you again soon!

We come to Cardiff from Shrewsbury normally once a month just to have a meal at Pastures. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

It’s not often that a restaurant lived up to the hype and the lack of reservation slots, but this one does. From the moment I entered to the time I said goodbye to the welcoming people at the host stand, I had a truly great experience. If you don’t know, it is expensive to dine here but it lacks nothing. Best steak I ever tasted; Great Beef Fat chips and a cocktail list for every strength and taste. The wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, intelligent and enthusiastic - no fake smiles or obsequiousness here. If you are celebrating, go here. If you want to impress a date, go here. Me? I just wanted a damn fine steak… PS The mussel starter was very “yummo” too! (as one Rick Stein might say). Basically plan (in advance to be sure) to go here or miss out.

The steak was pretty average but the sides (particularly the tender stem) and desserts (chocolate dome) were to die for! Amazing service, all the team members were incredibly friendly. However music was a little loud so it was hard to hear eachother and the floors were a little slippery so be careful!

Our experience at Pasture was amazing! The food and drinks were tasty and cooked to perfection but the most stand out thing for us was the service we received from Matteo! He was incredible, explained everything to us and showed us the different cuts of meat, made recommendations to us which were great. We enjoyed a delightful meal during our visit to Cardiff. The location was convenient, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The food was quite tasty. However, we did experience a delay of an hour from placing our order to the arrival of our meals, which affected our overall rating.

What a banger of a restaurant this one was. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left the service was outstanding. The place was full and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the staff were brilliant. The food was amazing and absolutely delicious.

Probably the best meal I've ever had in my life, the starter was divine, the short rib croquettes were to die for and my steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned as were my sides. All I can say is wow. This was one of, if not the most, delicious meal I have ever had. The chicken wings, the rib eye, the truffle fries and carrots… outstanding. Amazing food, amazing service, the atmosphere- perfect. And our wonderful server gave us brownie bites with ‘congratulations’ written in a chocolate sauce after we had told her it was our 5 year anniversary. Already booked again to come for my partners birthday in June.
