The welcome was warm and friendly, the menu well explained, and the pasta was the best ever. They are clearly most passionate about food and drink but also about the restaurant experience. We look forward to returning.

The absolute best Pasta you will eat! I’ve eaten all over Italy and a good Italian is normally like our Olio in Chelmsford. However Pastasciutta that used to be down Chelmsford Market until Covid, has opened in Ingatestone in a beautiful little restaurant. Whether it’s a coffee and cake or breakfast, lunch or evening meal, this little independent restaurant run my Laura and her husband needs a visit. The pasta is another world. In the words of my Italian friend said if this was in Italy, Italians would travel for a couple of hours to get to it, the quality and taste is so good. . Simply perfection, use it or lose it, support this amazing independent local business

Just had the most delicious lunch at Pastasciutta with my sister-in-law. I only booked earlier in the morning so was pleased they could accommodate us. At the time of booking Laura explained clearly that a full menu was not available at lunch time. Not a problem for us, I asked if the carbonara was on the menu and she said of course, we are Italian! I said as long as the carbonara is on the menu that’s good enough as I’ve had it twice there before and it’s the most amazing dish. When we arrived, we were not rushed to order our food or drinks which suited us, as we were catching up with each other chatting. We ordered 2 glasses of Prosecco and were given a choice of white or pink, we had the pink which was lovely. When we placed our food order, Laura explained clearly about the menu choices, in particular the carbonara as it is an authentic carbonara which is not the same taste or consistency as a chain restaurant. Personally, I love it! The pancetta has a strong flavour. Despite being full, I was tempted by the dessert Laura described, which I can’t remember the name of but was a sponge filled with tirimisu cream and chocolate. Tbh, sounded a bit rich for me but decided to give it a whirl anyway! Omg, it was to die for! But be warned, it’s not a small dessert! Great coffee to finish it all off. Fantastic relaxed lunch, excellent service, and food top notch. Highly recommend!

First time at Pastaciutta and wow! Fantastic authentic style pasta dishes and a great place to eat. Top marks to Laura for managing to serve food and drinks on her own to a lot of covers. Most certainly going to be a regular eating spot for us.

A lovely evening for a birthday meal. Genuine Italian couple who live and breathe their restaurant makes for a lovely atmosphere and lifts this place above most others. Sardines on flat bread with a sweet and sour garnish were very tasty. The Grigliata di carne was excellent especially the rib-eye streak component of the three meats. Very pleasant wines and desserts as well and al at a realistic price. Being local I shall go more often if I can get a booking which can sometimes be difficult.

I meet up with a group of friends every week for morning coffee, that turns into a light lunch. We are always made to feel so welcomed by Laura, who by now, knows all our names & often, what coffee we drink. Working our way through the pizzas & pasta on offer has been a delight. The unhurried atmosphere & friendly welcome keeps me coming back for more.

Amazingly Great Food, wonderful service and such thought put into the dishes. Highly recommend this place, and have already booked to come again and will bring business friends here at lunch.

OMG authentic Italian cuisine at an affordable price. Our hostess knew everything about the meals and their provenance. What a find in Essex the county they like to joke about!

A friend and I popped in to this restaurant in this delightful village for a light supper so only sampled one course. I had decided on a dish when the friendly owner arrived at our table and explained , in detail, the ‘specials’ for that day. I like to see this as it shows that the chef is interested in fresh, seasonal products and getting creative with them so I opted for a dumpling dish with Dover Sole and prawns which was sublime. My companion had an aubergine dish from the main menu and was delighted with it. Hearty, beautiful food, well explained and cooked to order by a creative, Italian chef. The best Italian food I’ve had in the UK, ever! Highly, highly recommended. Parking is available in either of two nearby car parks if required.
