Parkside in Barnsley

Started using this farm shop during lockdown. It’s got a great choice of produce. Had some excellent joints of meat, quiches and cakes. Staff very friendly and always helpful to advise when unsure what cut of meat to buy or quantity. It’s certainly on my Christmas shopping list this year.

This was my first visit here today. There's ample free parking. Walking from the car park to the shop, I was amazed at how beautifully kept the grounds are. There's a florist, a fruit and veg cabin, but I went to the butchers. They had a one way system in place and everyone was 'Covid aware'. They have a large selection of fresh and cooked meats, savoury and sweet pies, cakes, cheeses etc. The place is spotlessly clean and their prices are very reasonable. After smapling the quality of what they have on offer here, I definitely won't be a stranger.

Very disappointed just been to Parkside and queued for 40 minutes only to be given some sandwich meat that wasn’t edible. Don’t ever let them give you prepackaged meats. If there wasn’t a que I’d go back throw it at them greedy people

Just started visiting and shopping here and I’m very impressed with the meat and Produce on offer . You pay for Quality but that’s the point it is quality . They are also practical about the current situation with social distancing with limited numbers inside then a policy of 1 in 1 out , People queue orderly outside and safely . If you are local it’s definitely worth a visit as what you are buying is of a higher standard than what you can get at a supermarket

Me and my family go there to buy essentials, such as meat, eggs, bread and milk. They have some of the best meat I've ever tasted, especially the lamb kebabs!

Very clean nice staff and brilliant meat and pastries nothing too much trouble it's worth a visit to anyone

Lovely shop, fantastic service, friendly, helpful staff, great food and the meat is amazing, and reasonably priced too. The dogs enjoy the free bones too!

Excellent meat, pies and vegetables served by friendly and helpful staff in a spotlessly clean shop. A bonus is the easy, convenient parking.

The standards here are first class. The staff really have good knowledge of everything. Everything is delicious and fresh. The selection of cakes pies and cooked meats is exceptional as well as top class meat and poultry.

Very very nice farm shop clean and plenty to choose from, inviting and very scrumpy food. Just how its set out very quirky a pleasure to visit.

We Order from the Farmshop as well as visiting it. The delivery service is first class. The produce is so good. The shop is immaculately clean and the staff look great in their uniforms. The pork pies are amazing. Go and visit because you won't be disappointed.

Mi work here. Biaste is my middle name. However this very good shop is one to return to, and the staff are second to none. One shines through in particular.... that's me. Kiddin... (not) but please call in..Well look after you. I recommend the Wentworth wild venison... coz it's not deer. Please be a customer.... we don't deal I disappointment cheeers.

This farm shop has more or less everything you expect and more, from meat to pies, pastries, buns, cooked meats, cooking sauces, veg, eggs, all set out beautifully and I always buy more than what I go in for. Would recommend a visit, take a large bag!!

Love this shop,excellent food and very clean.Great choice.Can highly recommend the pork pie with a cheese and pickle topping!!

Just called in for a look and was really taken aback by the quality of the local produce and the price compared to other farm shops.The home made cakes and pastries are to die for.Lovely atmosphere,welcoming staff and value for money will make this our number one shop from now on.The home made bread cakes are delicious.

We dropped in as we saw the barnsley chops advertised at the roadside, and I am really glad we did. We ended up buying 6 barnsley chops (2 were ready prepared, but the butcher prepared and cut 4 more for us in a most professional manner, it was a pleasure to see a proper butcher at work), 3 pieces of pork belly, and a rabbit and red onion pie. So far we have had the pie and the belly pork, and they were both fantastic. The pie was crammed with meat and the belly pork had very little in the way of fat.Incredibly tasty food from a very welcoming place.

Good food good service. The shop dose a grate range of ready to eat food as well as fresh produce and meat.

Lovely little farm shop, perfect stop to pick up local treats. We stopped by on a walk to pick up lunch supplies and were amazed by the selection of sandwiches, pastries, pies, and homemade cakes. We had the warm pork sandwiches with stuffing & apple sauce...they were delicious! We also picked up some cakes and nougat for an afternoon treat. Really friendly service as well. Make sure you stop in!

We are now regulars here at Parkside, the free range meat is delicious and the eggs and veg selection are a wonderful find. All of the fresh raw and cooked meat is of the highest quality, the pies and cakes are amazing, try the Hogback its divine. We ordered our Christmas meat here and we can say that it was the best Turkey we have ever had. The Hot Pork Butties are incredible, make sure you ask for crackling!The staff are fantastic, thank you for exceeding all of our expectations, Superb. Wishing you all the very best for 2016.

I live in Pontefract and whenever I visit Hoyland I make a beeline to this great farmshop!the meat is always of excellent quality,pies are delicious,all baked on the premises and the selection of pastries and confectionary are mouth watering!!!all at really reasonable prices.also great friendly service,it's a real pleasure to shop here!!

Lovely little farm shop the cakes are all home made and are excellent, so far have tried the lemon bakewell, treacle tart , Victoria sponge and trifle very reasonably priced and tasty good selection of pies, quiches fresh fruit and vegetables , eggs, bread and of course the butchers excellent quality . Its a proper little high street all in one place . Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed .

Visited for the first time last week,and was impressed with the selection and quality of produce for sale.Everything is either from the premises or local, and prices are very reasonable. Staff are very friendly-family run,and know their meats! Their pork sandwiches are also very tasty! You will not be disappointed!

We live only a couple of miles away and have often passed by before calling in out of curiosity.Since that first visit we go almost every weekend.Parkside sells a wide range of top quality produce at reasonable prices - you wont pay through the nose for average quality here. Everything you would expect from a high street pork butcher and more such as cheese, veg and cakes.The staff are brilliant and all this in a setting that turns routine shopping into a trip out.Give it a try - you will go back !
