Went for pie chips and peas today ordered two pies large chips and pie when I got home only one pie only charged for one but the young lad that served me was definitely not listening to what I was saying no attention span obviously not bothered about his job

the food was just as you would expect but my experience was highlighted by the young ginger lad at the counter serving me. he was so nice and polite and made sure that my order was up to standard!!

Went to this chippy today. I have been going here for the last 7 years but I won't be going know more. The prices have gone up again and the portions have halved in size. The portions use to be generous. I've just paid £2.50 for about 20 chips. £9 for 5 fish bites and chips. I don't mind paying for something if its worth the money. I thought I would now revisit. I ordered a chip butty and a sausage. It was appalling. The chips were mush and so soggy. My food got wrapped up and then she dropped it on the floor and im sure she just wrapped it back up. I'm now definitely not going back.

The food was ready in a flash, it was hot and fresh. The fish was white and perfectly cooked, not soggy and the chips were not too fat and not too thin 😁 And the gravy……….. !

What terrible chips! The main thing they do and they can't cook em right. Chips were rock hard and fish was so so oily.

I tried this chippy as my usual chippy happened to be shut for some unknown reason? I ordered the steak & onion pie and chips to take away. Reasonably priced at £5.50. I only live three minutes away by car. The pie was soggy and luke warm and as for the chips. Tasteless and luke warm. I probably won't try this place again.

Genuinely can't get my head around people saying it's expensive? Everything is expensive now? Other chippies aren't any cheaper. The place is immaculate, staff are always friendly, and the food is good. Will keep using as my preferred chippy

Top fish/chips peas & curry sauce, really enjoyed.

Used to be ok pre COVID .. Fish dry although large I don't think it's even cod or haddock more like Pollack. Which is cheap. Chips ok but for £8.90 don't get many. Sausage in batter again sausage dry Won't ever return.

fancied a fish for lunch called in about 1sh ordered fish .friendly staff got my fish drove 4 mins to work batter was hard and stale around the edges and fish was dried out wont return

Staff excellent Parking easy Price - i wasnt bothered, i was on a trip Food. Chips- ok Fish. The fish had way too much batter on and it just didnt seem right flavour and texture. I Couldn't finish it.

Really friendly staff, they go the extra mile to get to know customers, chips are cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside with a soft fluffy interior, curry sauce is a high standard but probably a prepared mix, fish bits are excellent, prices are good but have taken a hike due to the cost of living crisis

The fish cake was a pre-made frozen thing, the chips were soggy, curry sauce was ok and the girl serving was polite. If you can’t make your own fish cakes, then you’re not a true chippy. Have a word with yourselves 🤦🏻‍♂️

It's good food that's all that matters.

Decent enough place with huge portions. Occasionally chips can be a bit pale and end up like mashed potato by the time you unwrap them. If they addressed this it would be 5 stars as everything else is great. Kebabs are also decent and good sized too.

How many good chippys are there in Barnsley? Quite a few. How many VERY good chippys are there ? I'm not sure but this is one of them. Tasty & great value. Easy parking. Good choices on menu.

Purchased a portion of kebab meat. When I got home I unwrapped it and started eating it,but to my surprise found it horribly salty and having a disgusting taste, infact I through it away, that's the last time I will ever call for something to eat at Park Road Fisheries.

We all 4 of us Just had Fish. chips scraps , scallop fish cake. curry sauce mushy peas onion rings plus scraps from here to day. I have to say, first time for a long time. we have been here . We normally go to a well known one from up near the motorway..But on recvomendation from my sister in law . We thought we would give Park Road Fisheries Barnsley. another try. I'm so pleased we did.. They are absolutely delicious..plus staff very nice. Very clean premises also..

Came inside the fish shop yesterday I ordered a kebab and a special with kebab meat and the meat was cold and was all end bits like it’s been their for ages.. the woman who serving me (blonde) was quite rude and didn’t smile or even make any like kind gestures in her face, felt very uncomfortable and had a very rude attitude in her voice like she didn’t want to be their, I was so happy to leave the shop! They need to improve their staff body language because I don’t think I’ll be returning

Nice fish n chips shame about the short ignorant kid serving the food....he was angry and throwing the food together he looked like he didn't want yo be there and was arguing with another member of staff I nearly walked out but 745pm kick off I couldnt. The prices have shot up keelings on racecommon Road is a much better option food better prices better.

Always a busy place, but that's what you get as the food is great. They also serve kebabs and pies. There are some meal deal options and kids meal options including a drink. Portion size is spot on, the fish bits are a recommendation!

Excellent good quality freshly made traditional fish and chip shop. Fish is meaty and lightly battered (or they will cook to your preference) Large choice of other takeaway foods as well.

Varies wether the fish is nice and flakey or dry.

Large portions and tasty. I usually buy the Fish Bites, Chips and a large Curry Sauce, that feeds four of us! I do have a couple of slices of bread with my meal, the mother-in-law only has the one Fish bite as she doesn't like a large meal for her to then end up having to leaving some. My daughter and I share the Curry sauce with my wife only occasionally having 'a taste'. 5 x Fish Bites, large chips and large curry sauce enough to feed a family of four for roundabout a tenner, can't go wrong!

Just been and had chips and patty .absolutely atrocious .chips were cold and like rubber .one mouthful of fish in patty and potato was yellow.batter soggy .tasted like cooked hours ago won't be going back for sure .in the bin it went !!!

Best fish and chips in Barnsley

I've never been a lover for fish, even though I have a caravan at Whitby. Last weekend my daughter asked me to share fish and chips with her. My utter word. This fish and chips were truly wonderful.. They say that the best fish is by the seaside,but try this fish shop! The value is brilliant too. Very highly recommend.

This place is just a small little place but the fish bites are to die for. You get 5 for £4.00pounds and they are well worth it. No salt and vinegar was needed as the batter was so tasty Come on people give these a try.
