Lovely fresh food good variety of great flavours and excellent value

I've eaten in house before great food ambience and service I was trying to order online what a disappointment. 1. Delivery charge and a charge for a bag...forget it !!! 2.Tried to order the meat feast kebab which says a choice of which chicken one you want. I went all the way through to checkout with no choice of this . All in all very disappointing . Your prices aren't cheap so to hit order on line with additional costs is totally out of order. I'll get my takeaways somewhere else thanks !!!

outstanding evetime food is 10/10 its a small restaurant so you will need to book in advance but it doesn't disappoint the deserts are even better than the mains if you have room its well worth the money and good quality.

Really great find. Iranian / Persian food served with grace and flavour. Really amazing rice dishes with kebabs that taste like you are in the middle east. Lovely staff and an amazing little resturant. Will go again. Thoroughly recommend.

It is a nice and cozy restaurant that offers mainly Persian(AKA Iranian) Kababs. The service is fine and the quality of kababs was really good. However, don't expect a spacious restaurant with big tables if you're heading there with a big group so make sure you book the tables beforehand. Long story short, I suggest the place for experiencing their Kabab dishes.

Stopped here today on our way out of the city centre. Family of 5 with 3 children under 12. We were treated amazingly, I had read the negative review below and we all know things sometimes can go wrong but there is certainly no negative vibes from Paprika or the staff that would give anyone bad service on purpose so feel confident this may have been an isolated incident sadly for the customers. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the environment was excellent. The meal and the pudding I chose had both temporarily ran out, so they insisted on my 2nd choice pudding being free of charge without any complaints by myself only some good manners and friendly banter. I think we were served by Sol (if I caught his name correctly) 10/10 what a great host.. and we will certainly be visiting him and Paprika again

I have eaten at the restaurant, and also had my wife and her friends order 20+ take away order few weeks ago for a birthday party. This time around, the take away order service was appalling. This was now my 3rd time visit. I ordered another takeaway for my 2 business contractors. All I got was poor customer service from the teenage manager who did not want to be there. Question asked to the manager with poor response. 1. Can I order the chicken Koobideh Skewer as it is an option on your website. response was take a look at our menu, it is not there. I advised that it would be a good idea to remove it from your website where people can still order online. It is misleading. I was advised the owner is aware, and he does not care to remove it. 2. I requested for ketchup for my Koobideh, and it did not exist even though I requested it during my order. response was there is 70 pence charge. I asked the manager, I am paying the same take away cost as eating at the restaurant which means that ketchup are not chargeable at the restaurant so why should it be chargeable when I am doing a takeaway. the response was this is the owner policy. pathetic response. I was finally provided ketchup without paying for it. 3. No cutlery was provided till I asked for it. I didn't see any tissue in my order. This all translates to a penny pincher restaurant which charges the same as eating in house but wants to avoid providing cutlery and ketchup for takeaway orders. cheap takeaways around Birmingham do a better job than this restaurant.

What a lovely find. Lovely coffee and it was great that we could get the right milk for one of our party. We would have loved to stay for lunch as everything looked and smelled delicious. Friendly staff, highly recommend you try it.

Ordered food, received notification food was delivered..but no food, waited for almost 1hr...eventually we had to ask for a refund as the driver was lost....we're only located on the next street which is 2 mins away on car ....such a letdown. Will not be using this place to order food.

If I could give zero stars I would. Came here on a weekday and the place was relatively full (not large capacity, talking a max of 30 people). Took a while for the waiter to come over and take our order and then the wait began, a 45 minute wait, no water or bread was served to us in this time and everyone in the restaurant was either on mains or dessert. When asking after 40 minutes the lady (may be a manager) was quite rude and said they would check. It appeared as though they had forgot about our order as we could see the kitchen and a waiter went and spoke to the chef and was holding up our receipt, they did not come over to use or say anything and at this point we decided to walk out. Bear in mind the place is so small as a manager/ member of staff you are able to see a table has not got their food. Rude service, would not return.

Had to catch up with a mate and decided to link up in Selly Oak and I found this gem of a restaurant. After reading the recents reviews I had to come here so phoned the establishment and was able to get a last minute booking for two. We ordered the Mixed Skewers platter for 2 with a mixture of skewers and wings and I most say I enjoyed the beef Koohideh skewers the most. We both agreed that this place does authentic Persian food. You can’t go wrong; give it a try:)

I was told about this small restaurant in Selly Oak by my friend who visited this week. I did a pick up order. Ordered online through the website. Went to pick up the food 20 minutes later (amazingly fast). As I went in to collect the food the first thing that I saw was the beautiful interior, the place looked 10/10. After looking around I loved that there was an open kitchen that you could look and watch the chefs making your food (the kitchen looked so clean and fresh, it made me even more excited for my food). After being greeted by the friendly waiter, he grabbed my order, then proceeded to hold open the door for me to leave. For a pickup order I felt like the 5 minutes of just picking up the food was perfect service. Once I got home I felt that the food package was still very hot. I opened the food to the best aroma's ever. I had ordered the Koobideh Skewer, with fresh mixed salad and rice. It was amazing the rice was soft and fluffy, the lamb skewer juicy and full of flavour. I was given two amazing sauces alongside the meal. A yellow one which was buttery with hints of coriander and an amazing tomato one. (I would love to find out what these dips are called for next time! ). And the garlic naan was unreal, full of garlic very soft and really complimented the dish. All in all, this order was the best pick up order I've had in a long time. This place is a hidden gem in Selly Oak 10/10. I can't wait to dine in next time!

This is a lovely intimate family run Persian restaurant and a favourite of ours at the moment. We went on a Friday evening 6:30, and it wasn't too busy so it was easy to chat to our friends. The menu isn't huge but the quality is good. Red/ White wine was £20, again only a small choice but perfectly acceptable. Food was £15-25 so not too pricey. It worked out to £25 a head all in all. Well worth the slightly higher prices than we would sometimes pay ..

Very disappointed. We were excited to eat here after reading the reviews. Ordered standard chicken and chips. Food well presented however chips had an excessive amount of salt, it resembled sugar coated doughnuts! Our two children had a couple of chips each and refused to eat anymore. We did explain to the waiter that the food was too salty. The waiter walked away and didn't return to the table until we asked for the bill. As the chips came at an extra cost, I told the waiter we were prepared to pay for the chicken but not the chips. The waiter refused to give any discount. He did however offer replacement chips. By this time the salty chicken was cold, the kids were tired and we needed to head back home. Wouldn't recommend.

First time and we were presently surprised. Amazing authentic food, great service and very affordable price.

After a slight mix up with my online order not going through, the staff at the restaurant were really helpful and apologetic (not necessary as they were not at fault!). We were able to sit in the warm to wait whilst our order was prepared. The food was so tasty, the rice especially is so good! Thankyou!

Best place ever im speechless, very lovely waiters

The lamb shish kebab and jalfreezi chicken peri peri wings with yellow rice was simply delicious. I really enjoyed the Persian Tea. Aside from the food, there were many other diners (mainly 💑 couples) who looked very beautiful. The ceramic designs of the plates that surrounded the perimeter of the interior of the restaurant was outstanding - (there were 24 ceramic plates in a 6×4 configuration, all multicoloured). The head waiter there was very polite and well mannered and served me and my family friends with a lot of respect. They had this mint chocolate 🍫 as an addition to the end of the service. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience, and would recommend other restaurateurs to check out this place 😀 😊 😄 🙂 ☺ 👍

Probably the best Persian food in Midlands. But, definitely the best in Birmingham! Give it a try, n i can guarantee you will go back again, n again n again......

Good portion sizes. Lovely decor inside. Nice and cosy. Very intimate. Food was nicely cooked but wasn't keen on the rice or one of the chicken options. However would recommend as it's a nice hidden restaurant. Rate 7/10 :)

Excellent food . They have adapted by having more variety than just Persian ..which is amazing but very delicately spiced . I have eaten at other authentic Persian restaurants and I think that the food at Paprika gives more choices and is tasty . Well done

I telephoned the restaurant on 8 February and booked a table for 6 people for 25 March. They couldn't accommodate 7.30pm but said we could have 6.45pm - all booked no problem. As it had been such a long time since my booking I rang the day before to check all was still ok for the following day. Whoever answered the phone confirmed everything was fine. The next day (day of my booking) I had missed a call from an unknown number (no message left) and I rang the number to discover it was Paprika. The man (different to the one I spoke to the day before) asked if I could now attend the restaurant at 7.30pm - 7.45pm. I said ok that's fine (it was actually what I had originally wanted) and I said we'd be there for 7.30pm. He then repeated 7.30pm to 7.45pm but he put the emphasis on 7.45pm as if that was better for them. I pointed out that I had rang the day before and everything had been ok and asked if they had double booked. He became very vague mumbling that people can book on different sites (sounded like double booking to me) and said they were trying to accommodate everyone. Not once did he apologise and at this point I was starting to get a bad feeling. I ended the call confirming we would be there between 7.30pm- 7.45pm and he said yes 7.45pm would be great but if we wanted to arrive at 7.30pm that was fine. At this point I knew there was no point going in until 7.45pm. Just before 7.45pm I entered the restaurant ahead of my friends to check the table was ready and could see a table of 6 and a table of 4 was free in the restaurant. I walked up to a waiter and announced my arrival. He looked a bit confused, I referred to my call earlier in the day. He told me they were expecting me at 7.15pm! Three men huddled together looking at a scrap of paper pinned to the wall. One of the men (presume the manager) repeated they had asked me to come in at 7.15pm. I told them this was not the case and politely told them of the calls yesterday and today and that I was very clear of the time I had been told as it was referred to several times. They just all looked at me repeating 7.15pm. I asked which one I had spoken to on the phone and one of the men said it had been him. I told him I was very clear of the time and said he had never mentioned 7.15pm. He looked sheepish. As you can imagine I was feeling pretty frustrated at this point but politely stood my ground which was difficult standing amongst the diners in such a small restaurant. The presumed manager with a black eye suddenly said "well where's the rest of the party then" and became quite challenging and defensive. I said they were a couple of minutes behind me as I had come in to check the table was ready due to the call earlier. I didn't like the attitude of the manager and the bad customer service and told them not to worry and that we wouldn't be eating there and proceeded to turn and walk out. The manager was saying we can sort this out but to be honest they just didn't seem to understand why I would be annoyed and they didn't seem to care, I felt like I was the one in the wrong! The manager was calling after me but I continued walking out, the last thing I wanted was to impact on diners enjoying their food. The manager followed me out in quite a challenging manner and continued to call after me in the street and prolong the conversation and twice I turned to tell him we wouldn't be eating there and to leave it and he eventually gave up. In the end we all ate in the Country Girl next door. Many of our family and friends have eaten there before (including the ones we were with) but said they won't eat there again. Shame as the food is supposed to be nice and there are some good reviews but the fiasco with the booking makes them look like they don't know what they're doing and they came across as incompetent and rude. Strange way to run a business especially in these times.

Really nice food, lovely small quiet restaurant. Reasonably priced. Beautifully decorated inside. Unassuming from outside. Could do with extremal refurbishment so it's enticing, but inside is beautiful. Good service. A real gem. I'll be back!

Food is delicious as always. Service was not bad except delivering the wrong mains to our table at first but it's fine. Atmosphere is really nice as well and I absolutely love it. Will come back for proper grill chicken n rice again :)) PS, the lime ginger and honey is sooooo good that literally reminded me of our Chinese traditional fruit tea!! It's even better cuz the taste of ginger added a unique warm and spicy element even tho it's cold drink

Stunning persian food perfect service

Absolutely fantastic experience!! The food was unbelievably tasty and so so delicious! The restaurant is so authentic and the service was is very attentive. I would 100% recommend to any one looking to visit this restaurant. We will definitely be returning!

WOW!! What a beautiful place. The outside doesn't do the place justice. The inside is gorgeous and quaint. Persian Sausage to start followed by chicken ( Japanese and Mexican) and lamb kebabs which were all delicious. The Saffron rice was to die for, thought nothing could top it, until we shared the warm Baklava and Persian Ice cream ( created by Boss), simple but mouth watering. Staff were fantastic, friendly and welcoming. A perfect example of a small business that you have to support. Thank you for your hospitality.

WOW is all I can ever say when me and my wife visit this place, its small but cosy with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are all lovely and chiefs really know there stuff, lovely tasting food every time cooked before your very eyes. Went yesterday and can't wait for our next visit.

absolutely disgusting behaviour from the owner. snatched the vase of flowers off us when we were just taking pictures, happy and friendly with customers of his choosing, refused to seat us in an empty restaurant and then when we were seated the restaurant was actually empty the whole time. absolutely shocking behaviour. never been treated so poorly at a restaurant

Been meaning to come here for a while.. always looks busy and popular Went very early evening on a rainy evening.. lovely warm restaurant and welcome The offer is a series of skewers (lamb, chicken etc) song woth sides etc We had lovely meze platter to start with aubergine dip, tzatziki and a lovely chicken and potato salad (Olivieh salad) Then onto a mixed platter with chicken wings, lamb fillet, lamb and chicken which was absolutely gorgeous. Lovely steaming saffron rice and great garlic naan Wonderful meal and restaurant - definitely recommend
