I have used this store for years the same lads work in there and the food is always fantastic. Please don’t close this store down it is the heart of Barnsley town centre and I’ve never had a bad meal from their top fellas top pizza top place. 👍

I made a genuine mistake and accidently clicked for collection and not delivery so i quickly rung up to cancle my order and now i have to wait days for my money back what they have still took out of my bank !

Food arrived 45 minutes late after 3 phone calls and was absolutely disgusting. The worst pizza ever . The shop is 5 minutes away by car , delivery service is rubbish with no explanation why was so late. Then the food away as could not eat any of it.

I live 3 mile away and it arrived luke warm & by the third slice being eaten it was too cold where we had to microwave every piece there on in. Polite delivery driver. I will not be back & it was a let down to our first order @ this pizza place.

Food was made with what tasted like basic ingredients and for £35 on a relatively small order it's not good. Food was delivered and arrived barely warm, making the food not the most enjoyable which is a shame as was looking forward to it but was let down. Papa Johns competitors offer more affordable and tastier options than what in my opinion is available at Papa Johns. Even then a store bought pizza tastes better, won't be ordering again.

Food was late, but still warm and thankfully everything j paid for was there. However, the customer service is shocking as they don’t answer the phone. I was worried that I had waisted £40 on a delivery. So in other words, unless you can personal collect your order, don’t bother.

Haven't had pizza in years due to there being not many pizza places that offer vegan cheese on a pizza, without the whole pizza having to be vegan too. Decided to try papa John's and I'm blown away. The pizza is the freshest pizza I've ever tasted in my life, the base is so soft and the cheese is the best vegan cheese Ive ever had. Didn't have any of that nasty coconut foot taste that other vegan cheeses have, and the optional extra toppings I chose were plentiful and we're super fresh. The only downside is the cost but as a rare treat, there is no better option in my opinion.

Disgusting service can't speak English and put phone down for no reason I was a regular customer but you've lost me now poor customer service it's not first time they done it last time took my order and cash never showed up

2nd of two terrible take aways from crappa/papa Johns on both occasions the food arrived late and cold the cheese had semi- reset the base was soggy and stodgy as was the garlic bread, they also all stank of fat. The poppin chicken unpleasant to eat as they were cold. The order was not removed from the “hot bag” at the door as the food used to be, instead it was carried from the car to my door as said without any insulation to keep it warm? A total waste of hard earned money, needless to say we will definitely not be ordering from Crappa’s ever again 👍 Thanks!

Ordered at 23.15 and try to get in touch with the store for about 30 mins and noone answer. In this style you will lose all your customers

Food is always good from Papa Johns however the delivery service really spoils the who experience. 90 mins after ordering and 30 mins after the companies own tracking service said our pizza had been delivered we get a call from the driver, saying he was in a car park and asked where we were. I told the driver I could direct him to us if I knew where he was but all he kept saying was he was at the postcode we had provided in a car park. Not very helpful. I told the driver what to Google to find us, he couldn’t work out how to Google things even though he was using Google maps for his sat nav. He just kept saying he was at the post code WE PROVIDED (Caps as he kept shouting it). Interestingly, as I presume with most addresses in the UK we don’t have a post code allocated to just our property. Also interestingly if you enter into Google our property name and postcode we provided on the order Google pin points us exactly. So maybe if your drivers were able to use Google and type the information provided they would find more addresses. Also you have delivered to us over 20 times in the last few years. Maybe if you pin pointed the delivery location after your first delivery and saved this next to our customer profile on your app you wouldn’t have this trouble. It works well for DPD who do this in their app. Will think again before ordering from here. Oh and when you try to call the store nobody can be bothered to answer. Tried 5 times just rang out. Not sure how you are meant to tell them of a problem. You order your pizza you takes your chances. Think again. Annoying as this is very easy to fix for a big company.

Absolute joke of a place! Placed my order online all went fine. Get email confirmation that my order has been placed. 5 minutes later I get an email saying something is wrong with my order please call the store. Phone just rings and rings, then someone picks up and puts it straight down again! Took my money but from what I can tell cancelled the order and then ignored. Will never order from this place again and I hope it goes busy very soon. Save your money and go else where. Deserves 0 stars!

Just ordered a massive pizza, stuffed crust and 50/50 also ordered some chicken poppers. Delivery was mega fast and the food piping hot.... tastes brilliant, stuff crust lovely and fluffy rammed with cheese oh yeah... Chicken pippers are so good I wished they had put twice as much in. Driver was very polite and seemed really happy. Best pizza I've had in a ling time and ......... it was part of a call of duty deal so a bit cheaper too... Thankyou

After reading all negative comments I was really not sure how my food would be. What’s a pleasant surprise. Delivery was very quick, food was fresh and hot. Sadly for this price I was expecting better quality and taste. Food was average. Nothing special and expensive for what I’ve got.

Delicious pizza's and good service. What made it even better was I went to collect my pizza (large) and it got for £9.99.

Super stingy toppings on bacon cheese sticks. ****ing pathetic. Do better! I know we're In cost of living crisis but I'd prefer you to put price up instead of skimping on the toppings. Going to dominoes next time.

Got a deal of the day when kitchen being redone, actually tasked great pizza not as fatty as fast food pizza can. Great guy serving.

Last week Waited an hour & half to phone up and find out they were waiting for another driver and wanted me to wait another 45 mins- hour. Phoned them today they now said they can't deliver to my address as it's too far but apps online say that I can order for delivery!

Where do I start.. so let's go with the price. I used to buy Domino's pizza but two weeks ago their personal pizza was gone up from £3.99 to £5.99 which is quite a jump. Here I got a large pizza for £7.99! Which is a brilliant value for money. Moving on to the taste: the pizza dough was unexpectedly slightly better than Domino's. The cheese was fresh as were the toppings. Requested a half and half pizza and managed to taste enjoy both. The service from the staff was amazing. Staff was polite, friendly and helpful when placing the order. I have found my new favourite pizza place. To my surprise there was parking space. So well done on covering all the aspects. The box is pretty cool!! I finished the pizza hence didn't upload and pictures!! PS: Qamar your staff member is amazing, he caters to the needs of the staff and is very polite, friendly and have always seen him working very hard.

Absolutely amazing pizza! Gorgeous, light, fluffy dough. Onions and tomatoes tasted so fresh, like they had literally been picked, chopped and cooked. Perfect amount of cheese, not overloaded and heavy. Very quick delivery and well worth the price.

Very doughy with no topping, like someone had accidentally dropped a few strands of cheese on, normally pretty good, just think it’s this franchise

Asked for extra cheese 4 times - asked again when paying. Told there was extra cheese on there, checked and barely any at all. Geezer come out of back, 'sorry, can't add extra cheese to sides' disappointing for £5.50 🤬

Waited for 2 hours for order to be delivered. Contacted the store who gave me 3 different excuses before telling me my order has not been made and I would have to wait another 40 minutes. Very poor customer service

While waiting for my large order, I saw a delivery driver come back with food he hadn't managed to get out. Apparently he'd been gone over half an hour because he was told off for taking so long. They took the food out of his bag reheated it nicked a few of the wedges and ate them and sent it back out to another customer. Needless to say I really didn't fancy my food after seeing that.

Awful pizza hardly any topping, chewy like day old reheated pizza, garlic bread close to burnt, tatty tots ok but lacking bacon, even dog wouldn’t eat the pizza crust

Our order took 2 & a half hours to arrive, when it did arrive it was stone cold & missing the dips we ordered. The manager was very rude on the phone as well. First time ordering from Papa John's & it will be the last.

Ordered food at 9pm and it never arrived. Called store few times and all they said everytime is that it will be with me within 15 minutes and then store closed at 11pm and stopped answering phones but food never arrived.

Order arrived more than 2 hours late and was completly cold. Called store about 5 times but get the same answer every time ''10 minutes driver is on the way'. BTW we live 5 mins from the store. Will never order again.

Terrible! Ordered at 6:30pm got the order. Freezing cold, ordered again still not received 10pm can’t even give me a refund because manager not in! Called 4/5 times went to wrong address with first order why it was freezing cold, had all this issue with them over the phone and they’ve sent the replacement pizza to the same wrong address! Laughable

Lied to for 3 hours saying it was with driver, manager even came on phone to say it was 1 minute away. Then I was told when I phoned back 20 mins later that it had been brought back to shop and I had to wait another 30-45mins. It was now after 9pm no way was I waiting for 10pm for a pizza! Worse service I’ve ever received. Even the girl on the phone kept lying to me saying she was someone else and I had spoken to her colleague...after 5 phone calls you know who you have spoken to. I then got hung up on. Pizza never arrived.

Ordered the food through Papa John's app and paid via PayPal. After 1hr waiting tried calling. Nobody answer the phone, even though I rang 5 times and let it ring for 2 mims per call. Still no pizza after 2hrs now. And guess what. Still don't answer the telephone. Going to have to go to the shop now to try and get my money back. Rubbish, will never use the company again.

Shocking both large pizzas had moved on the box there were no filling left on the majority of either pizza. After calling the store I was met by a comment that there is nothing they can do.£46 for something not fit to give to a dog. Never again!

Ordered from here tonight and I have to say I was VERY impressed with the customer service. I intended to order via JustEat but could not make the modifications to pizza which I needed to make, so then I tried to order online. According to the website, they wouldn’t deliver to my address but just eat would... so how do I order pizza? I phoned the store and spoke to Akash. I explained the predicament I was in due to having a dairy allergy and Akash was extremely helpful. He took my order over the phone, found a deal to match what I had attempted to order online and found a way to deliver my pizza to me. 20minutes later, the pizza arrived on my doorstep! Piping hot and with all the modifications! One very happy customer!

Quality food and friendly staff. Not to mention, Cosmin as best store manager this fast food EVER had! He knows what he's doing and will give you the best deal in a friendly yet professional way. 5 stars just because I can't give 6 or more, otherwise I definitely would. Will definitely order again now that Cosmin works there. Cheers!

5 star simply because of service, been a few times and the pizza is nice but we made a large order and some of it was blown away by a gust of wind and staff was kind enough to replace for free.

Not somewhere we normally eat from but the assistant was so helpful and patient. Amazing fresh pizza with 2 different halves of toppings. Reasonably cheap too. Really tasty excellent.

Ordered two pizzas & a portion of chips, I was waiting for 40 minutes in the shop while the order was apparently cooking. Challenged them several times about where they were to be told “3 minutes” about half a dozen times - long 3 minutes!! Finally got the pizzas home, clap cold, chips weren’t cooked & the base on one of the pizzas was made with hot sauce instead of tomato. During the wait, I was told that the next time we ordered we could get the same order for free - you couldn’t pay me the value plus the free fodder to entertain that carry on again!

Pizzas I have no complaints but the stuff they call garlic sauce is horrible. It may as well be a block of butter.

1 hour 15 minutes delivery, stone cold , burnt, missing side order , sent wrong Pepsi as they were out of normal Pepsi. Went to the store to complain and get money back, only gave money for missed side and Pepsi(Was Pepsi in store) food on floor, kitchen diety no manager. Won't go again .

This particular store exceeds many others & papa johns should praise this store ! The Food & service is First class. I visit most Sundays after swimming with my son. Danny is Awesome for his service Everytime .. Store is clean & food is Served perfect Everytime. Well done team

Great service, tasty'n hot pizza, recommended!

The pizzas were the worst I’ve ever tasted, I think it was dough but not too sure. The sauce was insipid and “cheese” (what there was of it) was tasteless. The garlic bread lacked something, of yes it was it garlic. It tasted like dough and butter. Please don’t get me started on the cheese and marmite rolls. The smell of burnt marmite was enough to unblock your sinuses. You couldn’t actually eat them because of the burnt marmite taste and I couldn’t even start to describe how they looked. I thoroughly recommend you go to another takeaway and avoid Papa Johns at all cost. I only gave it a one star as that was the lowest I could give.

Really good pizza and really quick delivery. The delivery team really does its job. Not sold on the new pizzas though.

Quick delivery well over priced for the lack of topping, this time less was less. Some awful after taste even found the thin base very under cooked.

In terms of service if I could put one star I would. We ordered a pizza in time for our lunch break, we called ahead of time to confirm the timings were okay and they confirmed. The pizza was a half hour late and each time I called I got "it'll be 2-3 minutes they just left". We waisted our entire lunch break waiting for a pizza that's now cold with no form of compensation, the drive apologized but still it's poor practice to lie to customers. I'm from the states and I LOVE papa johns, never had a problem either, but seriously won't be ordering again from here.

We first tried Papa John's in the USA and was really excited when it finally opened in Barnsley! It was just as amazing as we remembered...we had the meats pizza, with a garlic cheesy bread and hot wings then a brownie (traybake) for dessert. The garlic butter sauce is the perfect accompanying sauce to dip the pizza and it was super tasty. The delivery was less than 30 minutes from ordering and lovely delivery man. 5 very happy customers - would recomme d!

Tasty, super large family pizza

Very reasonably priced when certain deals are available, one of the best being any sized pizza and any topping for £10. It's great compared to dominoes' two for Tuesday's as two pizzas is often too much food for two people. One large papa John's pizza can feed a couple with left overs.

Absolutely shocking. I'm fairly sure Pizza was frozen as it was just like a frozen lidl one, wedges (of which there were 11!) were raw in the middle and soggy. Cost a fortune too which I don't mind if the food is good but this was abysmal. Could have spent a fiver at a supermarket instead of nearly £40 from these fleecing gets.

Absolutely atrocious. Ordered a pizza online and when I went to collect it, they said that they've not got the pizza and that they don't have the order on our system (even though I had an email paid confirmation for it). After 5 mins of asking where my pizza is or at least a way to fix the problem (i.e. Just make another one), the member of staff just said there isn't anything else that she can do and suggested I ring the telephone number provided to enquire it (I had to point it out to her that it's their number so there's no point in phoning). Following another 5 mins of demanding what they can do to fix it because I had already paid for it, I was just met with a blank face. It was only after another member intervened that they got to the bottom of it (accidentally got sent out with the delivery man). It was only then that they offered to make a fresh pizza and no apology was given whatsoever. I just felt like this situation could've been handled a lot better. Absolutely terrible customer service.

This place makes domino's cheap and tasty! Pizza tasted weird and a little like plastic. seems that ingreadiants are not fresh and using lots of things that have been frozen for a long time the worst take away experiance I have had in 15 years...

They don't leave the deep crust in long enough so it's still doughy. Other than that it's good

Disgusting. Employees never wash their hands when handling cooked and frozen food is no sanitiser in tubs are squirty bottles anywhere around the actual shop followed by unclean utensils as well as work surfaces. They employ people that cant understand nor speak English. Trays are stacked on and off pallets at the side of the shop with bits of food stuck to the trays which can only can attract vermin. Top tip do not buy food from this shop and most of the 5 star rating are from employees made to give a good reviews to increase sales. Fake reviews on this profile

Best pizza I've ever had me sen, better than owt else in tarn

Just tried for first time from here,cheese and tomato x2,ham and pineapple,garden party (veggie) all the pizzas were the best we’ve ever had,staff nice and friendly the large size pizza is the same or half inch bigger I think than dominoes large size,it just tasted better than dominoes and was cheaper with similar offers for four pizzas. we collected as we live too far away for delivery.

Ordered online waited over 3 hours not good service

Ordered today first time of trying since opening in Barnsley and was very very disappointed over an hour for delivery and not advised of this when the food came the pizza’s were only just Luke warm and the wedges cold and not even cooked raw in middle and not many of them for price, had to warm everything up in the microwave to eat at a reasonable temperature even came in a hot delivery bag so not sure how many deliveries were made before us , the pizza’s didn’t taste too bad 2 we customised but would definitely not have ordered if it hadn’t been for 50% off pizzas don’t think we would order again more value for money from our local pizza shop and delivered red hot every time and about same distance away came to £24 something for 3 pizzas and 2 portions of wedges and this was 50% off so u can imagine full price really not worth it at all ☹️

First of all the customer service is very poorthe guy on the phonne didnt understand us and was mubling when talking to us. When it did arrive the delivery driver didnt have any change?! So he gave us the pizza and went back to the papa jaohn to get the change prolonging our dinner. We will stick with dominos.
