Palominos Restaurant in Renfrewshire

Went for a meal with the family, amazing atmosphere, great food!!

I was probably seated too close to the kitchen, and I didn't like the smell of fish emitting from it..

We went for afternoon tea, a present for mother's day. Food and service were first class. So nice to be able to see horse riders practicing going over the jumps, from where we were seated inside restaurant. Would certainly recommend.

I was treating my family, who live in Langbank, to dinner - there were six of us, including two children. I ordered Caesar salad and an order of truffle chips. I checked that the salad contained anchovies - it turned out it did not. When asked, the waitress said the fish were in the dressing. I paid £11.95 for a plate of lettuce, a few tomatoes and some croutons, with a small bowl of dressing! (The chips were amazing!) . The whole meal was not exactly as expected - the Eaton mess sundae had no raspberries (I expect they too were in the sauce) and my glass of wine was £12.00! Won’t be returning in a hurry!

Lovely dining experience, we loved sitting watching the horses. The food was lovely, my wife and I had pizzas. Very tasty! If I lived closer I would make this my regular choice for dining.

Lovely food and nice service in a wonderful setting

Visited here on the way home from a weekend break, came here as my friend raved about it & says his work colleague loves it too, so I was excited to try. We were seated with the view of the horses which was really nice, all staff were very friendly & helpful. What did let the place down was the food, it wasn't what I'd expect for the price. I started off with nachos which wasn't very good, guacamole wasn't even fresh & looked like one from a sauce bottle so that was really disappointing! My friends got the soup which I wish I'd have gotten as the Minestrone soup was beautiful. I then got half pizza & pasta which was good but from what iv heard & the price point it wasn't spectacular & I wouldn't rush to visit again.

A very friendly warm atmosphere created by all staff. Young children welcome.

Unfortunately it's a no from us, overpriced tastless food, garlic bread is just toast no taste of garlic. Our takeaway order was missing most of the garlic bread we asked for it to be delivered, it was stone cold. We had a lovely meal in Lorimers in Bishopton yesterday at nearly half the price. We would suggest if staying at the Touring park don't waste your money with Palominos.

I took my two grandchildren here a few times. They love the food and it's cozy and the service is brilliant. We always nip round to see the horses afterwards. It's an amazing place for lunch, dinner and family nights.

The staff here is so friendly, food was very good and so were the cocktails!

I'd give this place a 4.5* but happy to round up for this place. The food is absolutely excellent with a diverse range of menu options. Would like to see a few more dedicated Vegan dishes but there are a few available. Had a couple of meals here whilst staying at Ingliston. Generally recommended to book ahead as it is a very popular place (for good reason!) The prices are reasonable and the dishes I had were excellent. Wholetail Scampi is a classic dish I enjoy and I find useful for comparison. Here they were cooked perfectly and in plentiful portion. Skinny fries served with them were ideal as well. The peas fell a little flat, maybe a tad overdone but didn't deduct from the overall dish. Another evening I had the 'Balmoral' pizza. Palominos is a Scottish/Italian resteraunt so I felt pizza with haggis would be a good choice. Ooh it was lovely. Proper thrown sourdough pizza base with creamy mozzarella. I could have done with a little more Haggis on it but that may be a personal taste thing. To drink I chose the "Pina Nolada" mocktail which was a deliciously creamy combination of pineapple and coconut. Deserts are also worth saving some space for. A range of locally made patisserie choices (the large strawberry tart is a popular choice) and the display case does often see the widening eyes of young children with treats galore! Personally after my latter meal I chose the chocolate dome dessert. If, like me, you enjoy chocolate then this is a wonderfully rich option. The depths of chocolate in combination of the shell and surrounding brownies balanced well with the ice-cream and fresh raspberries. All of the staff are wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. Service can be a little slow at times. During lunch it felt they were a little understaffed and the food took a while to arrive but a couple of days later when we were having dinner there was no particular wait. The decor is...equine...very very horsey! They like horses and boy do they like horses. Not surprising given some of the tables look out on the indoor equestrian arena. Done very nicely but make sure noone in your part has equinophobia haha! Would definitely dine here again, after all there are so many delicious options to choose from, one can't try everything on a single visit!

Great venue for a special day out

Food was just a mess on the plate. The dish was pear and prawn cocktail! Looks like shrimp and far too much with a tiny slices of pear with skin

Usually love palominos but on our most recent visit the braised lamb was boiled and served with gravy and not a jus, the tiger prawn and chorizo pasta also had 1 prawn in it, along with the steak pies being very watery Just quite underwhelming for the price.

This is a new money country club for people who drive leased Mercedes-Benzes and whose tastebuds have been dulled by years of smoking cigarettes and drinking supermarket brand spirits. The dining room is loud and the wait staff were deeply embroiled in scenes of hectic incompetence. The service was very, very slow and disorganized. The meal was subpar — bland and poorly presented for the price point, and lacking in any sort of nuance or refinement. Pasta dishes that might well have been served from a tin. Overall an irritating and disappointing experience in what should be a relaxing and tasteful setting in the Renfrewshire countryside.

Amazing quality and value... Steak Pie and Pizza was really good and best Arrabiatta pasta ever!

First time in Palominos for a long time. Big improvement in food and service. I'll be back soon!

The best meal I've had in years! We booked a table for 530pm to take advantage of the family menu. We had a party of 3 adults and two kids. The staff were all immaculately dressed, friendly and attentive. Service was fast, but not rushed. The food was outstanding. Incredible service, food and value.

Ideal family restaurant. Staff very pleasant and friendly perhaps waited abit too long between courses. However a very enjoyable experience

My only complaint is you’re never just served by one waitress it’s usually about 5, so never sure who you’re tipping.

Penne Palominos was disappointing - description itself was dreamy (have tried/loved all ingredients in the past) but had an odd aftertaste. Bruschetta would have been much better kept “disassembled” for room service, arrived very soggy.

Food was lovely and good portion sizes. Waited about 30 mins between starter and main and had to ask the waitress to chase it up.

Close, but no cigarette on the service side. Food was OK, but only OK. Its not a pie if its a stew with a pastry hat. Salad sandwich does not make a club sandwich.

We visited midweek, and had an excellent meal, followed by a walk around the grounds, everyone is very professional in all they do. PS. The selection of cakes are out of this world.

The restaurant is in a lovely setting, everything is very well presented. The only reason it wasn't 5 star is the macaroni I had was quite watery, which didn't really represent its price tag.

Unfortunately on this occasion the food wasn't the usual standard. The seabass was very dry and overcooked and 2 attempts at a caesar salad and still not able to achieve it. Service was faultless as usual.

1st visit and a lovely experience all round

Visited on Monday night for dinner, Pizza was good but the service on the other hand… shocking. Felt very unwelcomed by our tall blonde waitress, we asked for our bill at the end and the waitress said she would get it. 1 whole hour went pass with no bill and no sign of our waitress, we asked another waitress for the bill and she got us it straight away. when we asked were our original waitress went we were told her shift ended a hour ago and she went home… so she left while still serving us. The rest of the staff when we walked by would look u us up and down and were judgy. Never actually experienced bad customer service till now and definitely not return to this restaurant run by rude staff. wouldn’t recommend

Food was excellently tasted but was let down by main ingredient portion size I did not feel that 4 normal prawns which were supposed to be Tiger Prawns was sufficient with a cost of £16 especially after having an excellent meal at Coast last night.

Stayed at Ingleston Hotel yesterday for 1 night bed breakfast - evening meal . Was told our evening meal was here . Dreadful experience. Partner ordered Brecheta supposed to be warm garlic bread and tomato/ham/cheese . It came cold and soggy . She also had Steak Pie and the trimmings . The pie paste disintegrated on contact and the vegetables were not blanched properly. Hard . I had Mac and cheese . Only got 1 bit of garlic bread and left with a lot of cheese sauce in the end . Desert was tiramisu. No coffee taste and left with heartburn . Not Good . Had a beer and partner had a glass of wine . Really over priced at £13 for 2 drinks . Shocking . Won't be back .

We stayed at the hotel and our family in one of the lodges. Food good ,staff friendly. A little slow if you are in a hurry.

Staying near by for a couple of days, came here for dinner for my 40th birthday with my husband. Lovely meal, lovely friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back.

Another visit to one of my favourite places. Fabulous tiger prawn pasta, nice glass of rosé and a coffee for me. We took advantage of the half price offer b4 5pm on selected pizza/pasta. Great value. Great service as always from Gregor. The ☀️ appeared as if by magic and we sat outside, elevating my enjoyment all the more. Palominos deserves every one of its 5 stars rating. Class act in every way. Have to add, so good I returned a week later. Pasta/pizza followed by Affogato served by the lovely Emily 👍 Quality all the way 👏👏

What a funny wee story I have to share with you all today lol😂 My daughter & her partner have just welcomed their new wee baby girl and daddy thought he would take mummy and Darling wee Princess out for their first outing since baby’s arrival only a week ago….so I thought being a new Grandma again and being laid up in bed not well I would surprise them both with celebration drinks and strawberry tarts with love ❤️ from their old mum….who hasn’t even met baby yet….so Chloe took my payment over the phone and now I left a lovely couple and their new baby a wee bit confused as I only went and got the day wrong 😂 lol….Anyway Congrats to the lovely couple and their Darling new wee baby….They say God works in mysterious ways eh? Lovely decorated restaurant. Staff were very professional & efficient. My meal of pasta was excellent, very tasty. Couldn't fault it. However my husbands fish & chips wasn't quite so good. Chips were not the greatest hence the drop of a star. We would still go back, sometimes chips are a personal like or dislike in the way they are cooked. Otherwise a great experience. Lots of parking, easy disabled entrance, lots of toilets!! Outside dining available too. Need to book restaurant ahead though especially weekend. Would recommend.

My second visit to Palominos Restaurant while staying at the hotel. The food and choice on the menu is excellent, prices are good, staff are very friendly, attentive without being overpowering and the decor is beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit 👌

Just as I remember from 10 years ago, professional service, great atmosphere and brilliant food. The whole establishment has expanded so much but the quality of everything is exactly the same. There is plenty of parking and lots of areas for functions.

Went for lunch with work and they sorted out a table for 8 without fuss The pizza and pasta deal is great and the food is piping hot and tasty Really nice location

Great selection on menu although a bit on the pricey side , buzzing atmosphere, family friendly only downside those attending wedding were trying to use restaurant bar creating a queue we're we were sitting , manager did act quickly when he noticed this

Food and service were great. Only disappointment was that one of the arenas is boarded up with pictures of horses rather than the real thing.

Unfortunately I feel this place is style over substance. Think high-end well illuminated Frankie & bennies environment with very average pub grub on offer. Lovely staff and a cosy atmosphere but food not great. Menus galore as they seem to have 7 to choose from for every different time of day or day of the week. Fish and chips were not great. Claggy old tasting chips that were flabby and impossible to get to as they were underneath the fish and flanked by a ton of salad. Fish was fresh but the batter fell off which was frustrating. We had to ask for tartar sauce which want the end of the world but the chef's couldn't be bothered to chop the caper berries so you got huge bursts of caper and brine every so I'm often. Despite asking for no mushy peas I still got some which is an utter waste. Pickle onions didn't appear either, which isn't a bad thing as there was no room due to excessive salad taking up 40% of the plate. Enough of my petty moans. In summary I wish the food lived up to the vibe, (external appearance) and service, but it just doesn't. It's far from great and unfortunately I could not recommend this place for food.
