Oriental Buffet in Merthyr Tydfil

We called in today after shopping blonde haired waitress had a face on her as soon as we walked in like if she didn’t want to be there . To be then told we had to pay for food before we had it which we have never done when we have visited before. Food wasn’t the best must be new owners , we have visited numerous times and this has been the worst . To top it off my partner has had sickness and diarrhoea since eating here . Definitely give it a miss .

Pre-covid, this was our regular Tuesday treat. My mum and I would make it out treat when we would eat here, go to the cinema and be home at a reasonable hour. Fast forward a little and every visit has been worse and worse. Arrived to be told that as we were a large party (5adults, 2 children & 2toddlers) we had to pay in advance, instantly put off that we were being judged on the amount of us in attendance and further promoted our decisions to not buy a further round of drinks. No signs to say you had to pay in advance. My experience, single person with the twin toddlers with family. Was charged £9.95 each for the children despite me saying they would only be eating a couple of chips and prawn crackers - I didn't want for free but £20 was and is an extortionate amount to be charged for a toddler. I've also been with friends just before Xmas and wasn't charged for the toddlers, this was a different person on the till. We were placed to the left of the till which meant it was very hard on occasions for our party to go up and return to the food carts as people were congregated around the till in our way, other customers and staff Im relating this too, customers are not to blame as it's the establishments layout. Table was sticky and hadn't been cleaned tidy. As I say twin toddlers - twice I had to ask for high chairs as they only brought me one! Kitchen staff were coming out to top up the food and placing freshly cooked on top of food that had been out for a while and mixing to stir. Half the cart wasn't in action. As I was waiting in line to get some rice, a staff member came over with a dirty dish cloth and swept the food that had spilled out back into the food container! A man also noticed as he looked at me in disbelief! Went to the toilet before we left. No soap in the toilets. That was the ladies and the baby change. As we checked both.

I've been here several times with my family. Love the food, they cater for vegetarian and have some dishes suitable for vegans and they clearly label everything. I've always found the staff courteous and polite. It's our go-to restaurant when in Merthyr. It's good value for money.

Terrible experience, staff rude, food awful. Never again. We were a family of 7 with 2 x 12 yr olds, when we asked how much for children, I was promptly told that they aren't classed as children as they are too tall & are above the white writing on the door so have to pay adult's price. As they aren't keen on Chinese and would eat very little, they decided to just have drinks so they would still join us at the table. Food choice was ok, but majority of it was cold and the rice dry.....with little flavour unless you had lashings of curry or sweet & sour sauce. My daughter asked if she could try a chip off my plate to see what the sauce was like, ONE chip. Of course I said yes, but we were swooped upon within seconds by staff and TOLD if my daughter eats more chip they will charge me a full adults sitting. I tried to explain she was just tasting it to see if she liked the sauce but instead of understanding that 'fussy' children sometimes need to try things - we were again reminded that I will be charged a full buffet price. Attitude was awful and for the remainder of our meal we were watched and it made us feel so uncomfortable. We will 100% not be returning but think my daughter will never eat a chip with sweet & sour sauce again!

Won't be be visiting again, ordered two meals at the desk which you need to pay for before sitting down then asked for two glasses of tap water, staff then had the cheek to charge service charge for water and food which you help yourself too. It was only after I paid I noticed it on the member of staffs till which the customer can't see. Don't get me wrong I am happy to pay a service charge if I think the service is good. But to get charged a service charge for a help yourself buffet and tap water is not good. On reading other reviews it seems they like to try it on with you, especially letting your child eat the food then come over and charge them an adults price as they are over a certain height.

Food was OK, however, customer service is awful. As a family, we spent over £100 for our meal with drinks. Whilst at the buffet, our table was cleared of empty plates, but they also took my half full glass of lemonade. When I told them this at the counter, they insisted the glass was empty, and refused to replace it. They also charge for tap water, so I finished the rest of my meal sharing a drink with my parter. I won’t be returning.

They decided to not tell us they were closing the buffet within 30 minutes of us paying and sitting down. They didn’t even mention that it would be closing shortly in case we wanted anything else, just turned off the lights and all the staff started taking the food that was left, despite us still eating. We raised this with the staff, who were exceptionally unprofessional, including outright lying about the advertised closing time, and blaming an absent manager when proven wrong. I did eventually speak to the manager via phone (who was supposedly not in the first time I asked, until the phone was handed over), who was just as rude and dismissive, and again lied to me, telling me CCTV showed the staff had asked if we had finished - I would love to see that footage, if it even exists! The food was rubbish too, but not receiving the advertised service then being lied to and hung up on should demonstrate the low calibre of the business - best to take your custom elsewhere.

Let me begin by saying that the food here, although overpriced, is just ok. The customer service however is something else. A group of 14 of us visited recently for a birthday meal. We were asked to pay upfront before being seated, which is fair enough but I had my 2 year old son with me and was asked to pay £8.95 for him. I queried the cost and was told by the lady behind the bar (in no uncertain terms) that I had to pay this for him otherwise she would watch him for the whole visit to make sure that we didn't get him any food nor feed him off one of our plates. Now I had no problem paying something towards his meal but felt almost £10 was excessive for his age, especially as most places in the area let under 3s eat for free. Our bill had already come to over £200 with drinks so it wasn't as if she wasn't making any money out of us. Grudgingly I paid the £8.95 as, because it was a family member's birthday meal, I couldn't walk out and then even though I paid it we were still watched. I will not be returning here and it's not even about the money, it's about the way I was spoken to with such a bad attitude. To end on a positive note, my son enjoyed his spoonful of rice and his bowl of ice cream.

I gave one star as there was no way of giving any less. But in all honesty it was a terrible experiance really absolute rubbish. Poor quality to say the least and expensive to boot. I do not mind paying for good quality but it was non eadible.

Very disappointed!! Was looking forward to a nice selection of food. Food very poor quality, some of the meat was inedible abd mostly dry. No temperature controls after food had been placed in ban marines. Poor choice of mains and even worse choice of desserts. Place was drab and dark no atmosphere at all. Covering on windows was peeling off and wood work dusty and dirty with dead insects. Food hygiene sign was put right up on the top of the door and not easily seen. If I had seen it only had a 3 I would never have gone in. Reporting to environmental health !

Visitamos en un tiempo de almuerzo los días laborales a un cumpleaños de colegas. La comida era abundante y repuesto con regularidad. Un montón de opciones, postres donde un poco cutre y el helado máquina estaba fuera de servicio.

Nos metimos en aquí por primera vez haber disfrutado de un montón de excelentes comidas en su restaurante de Cardiff. El personal era amable y rápido al ver a usted. Tienen una gran selección de comida, ambos entrantes, platos principales y postres. La comida era deliciosa y si se hace uso de los "todo lo que pueda comer" precio muy competitivo. Que son muy rápidos para llevar tus platos te cuando has acabado de comer, pero al ver que te dan un plato fresco cada vez que volver por más, que en realidad no nos molestó. Es fácil llegar a los lugares de interés de los alrededores y dado, una gran noche.

Vinimos aquí en un tiempo de almuerzo en unas obras. La decoración necesita freshening up, lo admito, no mucho de un ambiente, bastante frío, no puedo explicar por qué. Un montón de comida para elegir. Era tranquilo en torno a los 12 y pronto empezó a llenarse después de esto.

Visité aquí durante la estancia en el Travelodge en el mismo polígono. Después de leer todas las críticas de Tripadvisor que optamos por comer aquí - con un poco de miedo, tiene que ser dicho - ya que parecía el menos decepcionante de un grupo muy decepcionante, que no es el mejor motivo para elegir en algún sitio. Para ser justos la comida era bastante buena. Estaba caliente y sabroso, y había una amplia selección disponible. El personal era con frecuencia llenaban los platos. Me gustó mucho la comida y han sido ciertamente sirve peor en los establecimientos más caros. £11,95 por todo lo que pueda comer es una buena oferta.

Un restaurante que está bien decorado con buen aparcamiento, con un montón de espacio para sentarse, y un montón de estilos de comida. China, currys, arroz, patatas fritas. Tienes que verlo de acuerdo. una pareja puede comer todo lo que pueda por alrededor de £12. almuerzo tiempo es el mejor, por la noche los precios suben, por unos 3 € por cabeza. Los niños les encantará la unidad de helado es autoservicio, con una buena selección de dulces, etc. buen precio buena comida.

Mi familia y yo probamos aquí para cambiar recientemente un domingo por la tarde. Tan pronto como llegué allí no tenía muchas expectativas para la comida, ya que la decoración era viejo y desgastado, nos enseñaron a nuestra mesa, el que era por la ventana, pero el sillones y ambiente del lugar es más como una sala de cena que un restaurante. Nos dieron las bebidas que fuimos a recoger nuestra comida, empezaremos mal ya que la mayoría de los platos estaban viejas y desconchadas, había una buena cantidad de comida pero no mucho que parecía especialmente apetecible. Acabé con costillas y patatas fritas extras, esperaba por lo menos algunos platos populares chinas como mein la comida o arroz frito especial pero nada como que ofrecían. Lo que yo no era sosa y sin sabor y mi familia lo mismo. Normalmente me dan un lugar pocas posibilidades antes de decidir no volver de nuevo, pero con este restaurante una visita fue más que suficiente.

If you love salt, you'll love this place! Five Star! The chicken is great. And so is the duck pan cakes, they are also great.

Realmente no puedo entender los comentarios positivos sobre este lugar. Yo y mi esposa decidimos visitar este lugar después de ese horario umming y los otros lugares de comida en el parque comercial, decidimos probar este pero nowwe ojalá nos equivocábamos . Fuimos allí el domingo por la tarde para encontrar una selección de 10 diferentes bandejas de comida básica. Cuando me decir que la comida era la típica repetía selección. Los platos estaban desconchados y todavía tenía comida, pasa por alto el sólo conseguimos unas costillas junto a fideos y carne en algún tipo de salsa. Ella no podía terminar como su estómago comenzó a dar vuelta como una lavadora. Llegamos a casa, a pocos minutos de s ella vomito y ambos hemos no dejó de ir a wc .

Segunda vez visitando aquí sólo como estábamos en la zona. Como la primera vez la comida es de muy mala calidad, sosa y lleno de GMS. Las costillas estaban justo eso, costillas! No volveremos aquí nunca y en 15 libras cada uno en un viernes a las 6 de la tarde muy mala relación calidad-precio, mi consejo es conseguir una comida para llevar, más barato y de mejor calidad. También hay un 1,5 m límite de altura para los niños ... si son más de 1,5 m de altura que pagar el precio de adulto independientemente de la edad.

El Oriental Garden en Rhydycar Leisure Park en Merthyr Tydfil, realmente tiene una conveniente colocar, cerca de la A470, y muy cerca de la principal zona comercial de Merthyr. Hay espacio para aparcar aquí también. Las comidas, el personal, los precios y la ubicación de este lugar es perfecto. ¡Tienes que probarlo!

My family have eaten here a few times. Nice clean restaurant. Friendly attentive staff who are constantly clearing your table and making sure you have everything you need. Good tasty buffet with plenty of a selection at a reasonable price.

The kids always happy to visit the Oriental gardens when we are in Merthyr....I think it's best to come here as soon as it's open as I like the freshness and hopefully not to busy....drinks are a bit pricey and with 5 of you eating it can mount up to be quite costly, only down side is that they charge for the little one and he only eats chips so charging him for a child portion to us is a bit of a waste of money.

La visita se sirve un propósito para mí, para matar un poco de tiempo.La comida aquí es bueno, no está mal, es pasable. El espacio es un poco limitado, así que como resultado no una gran variedad como con otros restaurantes de tipo bufé. No sería mi primera opción de restaurantes en Merthyr, pero esta vez no me iré de nuevo.

Regularly visit here. Food is always hot and varied. Plates are cleared quickly staff are brilliant!

Refusing to go to the local Harvester after the previous days WAITING HORROR we returned to the old faithfull....not been here for a while.....so took our Grandson in for a treat.......shown straight to our table...unlike the long waiting at Harvester.....the order for our drinks returned in minutes...unlike Harvester.....we were told to help ourselves to the all you can eat buffet which was all freshly cooked and piping hot, the taste, as last time, was lovely.

First time here last night not gonna complain as we only paid 8 a head instead of the 14 so happy days the food wasn't the best but certainly not the worst I would go again

Went there as every where full but disappointed with chicken/ribs hardly any meat all grisly and bone all other selection ok sweet and sour very sweet and sickly choice of dessert ok overall used to go regular but won't go back for long time

Came here for lunch because everywhere else was packed. As the title says it is what you pay for...It wasn't the worst meal I have had and we left full but I would have rather gone to one of the restaurants next door and endured the hour wait for food.

Este debe ser nuestro décimo o cervecería visita y, esta vez hay una notable mejora en la selección de comida. Nunca he visto patata dulce y crabstick en pasta ligera antes y estaba delicioso. Muy bonito como un dragón roll leek pero sabrosos en miniatura. Más platos principales y otros postres. Llegamos en el clavo apertura a las 5:30, así que la comida era todo recién cocinado. Tal vez es una propina para asistir. En general, buena calidad y muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Es una pena porque la comida en realidad no es tan malo, pero para mi sorpresa debido a pedirnos una línea definida contra la puerta a la entrada si estás bajo 4 pies 5 (si no me falla la memoria) que pagar los precios del niño. Mi hijo recientemente ha pasado 9 años y tuvimos que pagar los precios del adulto debido a que 2 pulgadas, comimos apenas nada (como cualquier niño su edad). Hablé con el personal y transmitió mi pequeña molestia para lo que era simplemente restado importancia. Nosotros no vamos a volver aquí hasta esta política es cambiado y no lo puedo recomendar sobre esta base.
