Stopped for lunch which was lovely. Choice of two home made soups and I had a prawn salad. Everything was perfect and it was stepping back in time. Exceptional grounds to explore too.

From the minute we arrived we were greeted by a smiling face..we sat at the bar waiting on our table and a lovely man called Finton introduced himself. A very affable guy. Such a lovely quiet demure tone to his voice but so friendly and chatty…our food was fantastic…prawn and crab claws to start…fabulous flavours….farm reared steak and a veggie curry for main..a feast ..so much so we didn’t have room for dessert but they looked lovely as we saw them coming in..we came from Belfast for our meal and finton said he would leave us back to the train station …that was above and beyond for service…what a lovely experience and would recommend highly 😃

Stayed here for 3 nights, and we loved the attention to detail that that is often so lacking in today's modern world. We had dinner the first night and we loved the relaxed ambiance created by Gerard, Fiona and their team, who wanted to ensure that everything was to their guests satisfaction. The menu had something for everyone, and the food was beautifully presented and each meal was delicious, and plentiful. There was also a good selection of wines, within a reasonable price range and all were served at the correct temperature including all the food. I love hot food on a hot plate and that is what you get. The breakfasts were all terrific, with a good selection of choices that were individually cooked to order. We had originally book elsewhere to stay elsewhere in Ballymena, but friends told us no you have to stay at the Oranmore Guest House. We are so glad we changed our booking and stayed at the Oranmore. I will be recommending this place to others, and will stay here again, when nest in this area.

Frugality and owner apathy beats the charm the place has. Very expensive drinks and dinner. Liked · Charming place Disliked · Owner's frugality. My fiance ran out of hot water in the middle of the shower - AT 6PM - Took 40 minutes for hot water to come back AFTER they turned water heating back on. All the while she was left with wet hair full of shampoo waiting to finish the shower. She is sick now. Also had a leaking pipe in the room while waiting for hot water to come back. They did nothing to solve it, just said it must be someone upstairs showering. Terrible attitude.

Great place to stay and eat We stayed here three nights and enjoyed our stay and the delicious breakfasts. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Bottled water provided as well as complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. We had an early evening meal and can recommend eating there too. Well were can I start. As a gay couple we were quite worried about staying in an area which is very "DUP" but the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. The manager Gerard could not do enough for us. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel it's self was unbelievably beautiful, with its cute rooms, vintage furniture and open fires. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who looking for a cozy weekend. Thanx again to everyone working here

Our first trip to Oranmore for afternoon tea was literally delicious. The food was beautifully presented, tasted as good as it looked and was promptly served by attentive staff. The venue was also very pleasing, the dining room having a real fire and very festive with the tasteful Christmas decor. We were lucky enough to have a sneaky peek at one of the en suite bedrooms where I would have been happy to unpack a suitcase there and then. Again, beautifully decorated and luxurious. I look forward to a return visit.

The restaurant/guest house is in a previous private residence (probably Victorian) and has been tastefully refurbished, retaining most of the original features. I had lunch there with three lady friends and we received a warm welcome when we arrived. We were shown into a comfortable lounge/bar with a log fire adding warmth which was a welcoming feature on a cold December afternoon. We enjoyed our pre-lunch drinks before being escorted to one of two dining rooms. We enjoyed the food which was freshly cooked and nicely presented. Two of us had curried chicken and the other two had salmon and prawn salad respectively. The service was good and great attention was given to detail to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience.

My wife and I had a weekend in Galgorm attending a wedding at the Galgorm Resort and Spa. My wife was having her hair done prior to the wedding we were attending and the hairdresser recommended the Oranmore for a traditional Sunday Dinner. What a result that was!! When we arrived we were greeted by a waiter who was a gentleman he took us straight into the bar where there was a lovely open fire and we were seated while he prepared our table. We ordered our food in the bar and then taken into the main dining room. We were only sat down for several minutes and the first course arrived. My wife had the soup and I had the Prawn and Crab Cocktail which we both agreed were excellent. For our main course I plumped for the Lanb and my wife had the Beef again the quality of the food was excellent. Dessert well I thought I had eaten some very good Cheese cakes in my time but I have to say nothing can come close to the Raspberry and White Chocolate cheese cake I had here amazing!!! I can honestly say if you are looking for some excellent home cooked food with quality produce you really need to try this place it's fantastic. We will be returning to Northern Ireland and we will make sure we will back to have another great meal and also try the rooms they offer.Thank you for a lovely dinner we will 100% be returning. 10 out of 10

I joined five friends in Oranmore for afternoon tea during the second week in November. We had booked in advance, but the table at which we were seated was a bit on the small side for six settings. We had a very tasty soup with sandwiches to start. Then the tea arrived - just one small pot of tea between six of us. We knew that we would need more. The two cake stands arrived, each one to be shared between three. These held delicious scones, cake and traybakes. All truly excellent. This was a very enjoyable experience and one I would very much like to repeat.

I arrived and was immediately impressed with the setting the house is beautiful.Jim the waiter greeted me warmly directing me to the lounge where my friend was waiting. The old world ambiance of Oranmore is most impressive. Having selected our choice of food we were escorted to a lovely table at the window in the beautiful dining room. Warm bread rolls and an amuse bouche of thick broth kicked off a delicious dinner. My friends steak was cooked to perfection as was my chicken and both served with an excellent selection of fresh vegetables. Dessert was scrumptious. I had the rhubarb and apple crumble served with custard and strawberry ice cream my friend the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. We were both very impressed and needless to say left nothing on our plates. I will most certainly be back to try their afternoon tea and the lunch menus. had afternoon tea this afternoon was so disaapointed. It was probably one of the worst afternoon teas we have had. we didnt receive what other tables received and the selection was tasteless. The sandwiches were uneventful served with half crusts on and half off. The fillings were nothing out of ordinary. Tined chopped ham with lettuce tomato mixed mayo, egg and plain chicken. The coffee was the worst i ever tasted it was served in a mix matched coffee pot with the lid not fitting. It was cold and left the most awful after taste. It was so poor i could only manage one small cup. Other tables received fruit bread on their tea stands this was ommitted from ours. The traybakes were tasteless. The scones small and not to my liking one with chocolate inside and one with cocnut not really tasting well with lumpy jam and fresh cream. The chocolate mouse was tasteless and over powered by the fresh cream. Such a disappointment. When said i was disappointed when paying the girl ignored me while payment went through then said you can speak to the manager and pointed to a man beside her serving another customer and walked off. I waited to speak to him and he argued he had checked my plate and it had been fine when i mentioned the missing items. Felt he was making me out be lying. Handled my complaint views poorly. disappointed. The whole experience lacked atmosphere it was like dining in a school canteen. It was rushed as we left after 25 minutes. It was the worst experience of afternoon tea i have ever had and we have dined in 5 star hotels to small cafes. Wont return and wont recommend. Very disaapointed

We went for scones and coffee - I swear i thought my mum in law was going to pass out when she got the bill because there was only 3 of us, 3 scones, 3 coffees and 3 biscuits (shortbread) and it was over £20. Having said that the owners are a husband and wife team - the husband serves, a very nice man and the wife cooks and bakes - the scones were fresh and warm but small. We did see some other people come in after us and they ordered afternoon tea, which had lashings of everything and I can't remember the exact price but we would have been far better ordering one of those with extra tea and coffee and it would have been much cheaper. We would go back, but next time for afternoon tea!

Our table for 4 was adjacent to a sideboard used for cutlery storage. Two of our guests were constantly plagued by waiting staff rooting about in the drawers behind them. It's all very chintzy - not only the décor but the ornate plates too. Our table was set with side plates and butter on the table, but no bread or rolls were offered. I didn't much like my duck breast. The meat was barely cooked, and the skin was flaccid and still firmly attached by membrane. Not crisp. We saw the puddings arrive on a neighbouring table, and decided we could not cope with such large portions. It all reminded me of the TV series Waiting for God, which was set in a home for the elderly.

A visit to Oranmore is a very good experience. Pleasant atmosphere in a nostalgic environment (70's), not fully appreciated by the teenagers in the party perhaps, but the very pleasant and beautifully presented food made up for any issue with the decor and all generations thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Expensive yes but given the quality of the food and its presentation it was not overly expensive and worth every penny, nice touch to have the owner visit your table and make you feel welcome. Booking is essential for an evening meal at this guest house. We visited for a private celebration evening meal. As we arrived we were shown into a small lounge for a pre meal drink and to look at the menu. There was a fire in the grate and it felt as if we were in a private members club. Whilst we looked at the menu we smacked on complimentary bubbles and elaxed. The menu was restricted but that always reassures me as I feel large menus must rely too much on pre prepared meals. We were offered a fish special choice based on fish that had come in that day. The food was lovely and the service was very attentive. Those who had the steak (£5) supplement) said it was very good. The starters were simple but excellent and the puddings good. Three courses and we were stuffed and will go with two courses next time. Coffee was served back in the lounge and we never felt rushed. We had a peek at one of the guest bedrooms and would love to stay over and would suggest it to any friends staying in the area. We went to Oranmore last night for dinner - it was delicious. We were warmly welcome by Gerard and shown into a beautiful lounge which had a beautiful fire burning and it very relaxing whilst we looked and chose from the menu. For dinner I had the carrot & red lentil soup and my husband had the bacon & chicken caesar salad - both starters were very tasty. The caesar salad had a little kick to it and my husband said it was delicious. For main course - we had the duck with orange & five spice and the fillet steak - again both meals were cooked to order and served with a range of vegetable and potatoes ( carrot / mangetout / baby corn/ broccoli / turnip / cauliflower cheese as well as roast and creamed potatoes ) - all in all we were well catered for and nothing was left at the end which was a good sign. For dessert we had warm chocolate fudge cake which was served with a ramekin of ice-cream and I had the blackberry & apple home made crumble with custard and ice-cream - both dessert were really tasty and you would have known they were home made - we finished off with a cappuccino and a tea. There was good space between each course and we had a really relaxing and enjoyable evening. The environment is lovely and relaxing and you could hear yourself talk which was ideal. The service was excellent, the environ relaxing, the food was top notch and reasonably priced and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely night.

We visited the guesthouse to take afternoon tea and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by Gerard, the co-owner, and were promptly seated at a window table. Many of furnishings and fittings were antique and I would personally love to look at them individually at a later date, perhaps when the guesthouse is less busy. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The little cup of homemade soup was just the thing for a cold December day, the sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cake, eclairs were delicious. A very nice touch for Christmas was the miniature trifle, beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the whole experience very much - so much that I purchased a voucher for afternoon tea for 2 for a friend for Christmas.

Possibly the quaintest, most delicious afternoon tea I've ever had. Staff are charming and very attentive, decor is beautiful and just my taste, you would NEVER imagine you are just off the busy Galgorm Road. Grounds are stunning. Feels a bit like afternoon tea with royalty. I just love it and CANNOT wait to return

This was a surprise afternoon tea instead of a baby shower and the staff were most helpful. There were 12 adults and two children so we were given a private room. The food was most enjoyable and the owner went the second mile to provide extra for the children, including extra cups of soup, which they loved. Fresh tea and coffee arrived regularly, along with generous servings of food.A thoroughly enjoyable experience and great value.

We came here with friends for Sunday lunch. This was our first visit. We had a drink in the the lounge where a fire was blazing. It was very comfortable and had a nice atmosphere. Lunch was excellent with desserts being particularly good. Staff was very attentive, courteous and welcoming. Prices were reasonable and we found it very good value

Wow. Where to start? First of all, Oranmore is located in beautiful surroundings, secluded by trees away from the road so that you forget you are in Ballymena. Gorgeous dated vintage decor inside - very plush. Afternoon tea was absolutely delicious. First of all we got soup in a little cup (which isn't common in afternoon teas so we were pleasantly surprised to have soup) followed by a vol au vent and a trio of sandwiches. Of course tea and coffee were served in beautiful china. Then a cake tier of mixed cakes, buns were served including caramel squares, pavlova in a little shot glass with strawberry, fifteens, victoria sponge with lemon, butterfly buns etc. Will definitely be back - staff lovely - highly recommend!

Visited for Sunday lunch. Service excellent with a traditional Sunday lunch served. The furniture and decoration is kitsch and a tad cluttered. Restaurant cosy and you are made to feel you are at your Granny's for Sunday lunch.

Afternoon tea in Oranmore Tea Rooms as a birthday treat from my 4 daughters was a lovely surprise. My daughter had booked in advance and mentioned specific dietary requirements for one of our party. I was so impressed with the trouble taken to accommodate this dietary need and the amount and quality of food was more than sufficient. The house is an eclectic mix of high ceilings, fascinating lighting fixtures, lovely wide doors and comfy furnishings. The service was efficient and the warm friendly welcome was much appreciated as we had travelled quite a distance to have this treat. The presentation was precise and there was copious amounts of tea (we love our tea in our house). Thank you to our hosts we will definitely be back and will tell all our friends. We wish you well in your new venture.

Just had afternoon tea at Oranmore with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Sandwiches, soup, scones and "sweets" we're delicious. Copious amounts of tea and coffee and very reasonably priced. Big thanks to Gerard, Jim and his colleague for great service. Very busy so would recommend booking in advance. A really lovely relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Myself and friend visited Oranmore for a catch up treat. We decided on afternoon tea and booked the week before. Due to my friends work commitments I asked if we could possibly have Tea at 11am instead of lunchtime. This was not a problem.I found the whole experience and surroundings fantastic. The host was very welcoming and the afternoon tea itself was to die for. Although we had no dietary requirements I would imagine this would be accommodated as they seem to go that extra mile to please. We are already planning another visit together to treat our mothers!!

Booked here for a treat for a friend's birthday. Right from the friendly welcome from Gerard, then a pre dinner drink in the beautiful lounge to the wonderful food in the dining room. It was first class. The puddings are amazing from the crumble to the white chocolate cheesecake. All in all a super evening.

Went for lunch here today after hearing so many good reports about this place. Originally just bed and breakfast (and the rooms are superb)they now do morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal. Everything is home cooked - try the crumble for dessert! Didn't try the afternoon tea yet but that's my next venture as it looked really good. Great atmosphere - not modern yet not too old fashioned. Young staff who are a delight and very helpful. Friends had an evening meal there recently and are still talking about how good it was. Really worth the try.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch with a friend at Oranmore yesterday. We were made SO welcome (and it was nothing to do with the fact that we are 'old' friends of Gerard and Fiona because everyone was being given the same treatment)The food was delicious - service (by Sarah) was super. They certainly know how to cook and to host and their top class previous experience in the hotel business certainly has stood them to good stead.Recommendation - rhubarb/strawberry crumble - oh my word - best I have ever hadMy friend had the chocolate fudge cake - she said it was heavenly.Thank you all for a wonderful experience. We will be back very soon, God willing.Wishing you every success in your new venture - it sure is a winner!

This place was recommended by a friend who had experienced afternoon tea. Arrived for morning coffee, scones, cream and jam and was very impressed. Two lovely dainty scones, still warm as just out of oven. Large pot of coffee. Well looked after. Excellent.

The drive as you approach the stunning house provides you with the correct initial impression - one of quality! The entrance and furnishing within the beautiful building are just gorgeous. We had booked afternoon tea (good idea to book) and were given a window seat (worth requesting). Plenty of room between each table so you didn't feel your were siting too close to other tables. The afternoon tea is the best I've had in terms of the whole experience and food (have done them at large grand hotels and smaller venues in N Ireland) and would highly recommend it. We started with a dainty serving of carrot soup, three finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, egg & chicken) and two mini mushroom vol-au-vents. Following this we were given a three tiered cake stand with a range of simply delicious home made treats, including sponge cake, caramel squares, fruit cake, panna cota, apple creams, buns and mini fudge cakes. So much to choose from and all with a pot of tea for a very reasonable £10.95! We had a very pleasant and friendly gentleman and young lady looking after us and they were super! Thank you! A really excellent afternoon tea. Highly recommend and the service was just super.

Set up from the main road leading to Ballymena - under a mile to the centre - the mature gardens and large house are very impressive.Gerard and Fiona made us feel so welcome from first meeting and they could not have done more to help us take our ease in their home.Their professional backgrounds are steeped in this business and the experience shows.Although fundamentally set up as a B&B, we ate dinner there each night. The quality was matched perfectly with its value for money. As their first guests we felt privileged to be there and we have no doubt that the business will thrive under the caring expertise the Gerard and Fiona offer.A full Ulster Fry has food which is locally sourced - including the free-range eggs on site!Even if you don't stay overnight in one of the beautifully and lovingly restored bedrooms with their taste and quality, drop in for afternoon tea.And if you need to be reminded of what defines warmth and hospitality, this is it.

Posto molto curato in posizione centrale. Cibo davvero ottimo! Vino non male. Prezzi nella media. Avrei sicuramente dato 5 punti se non avessi sentito la pressione fastidiosa della cameriera che voleva evidentemente chiudere e continuava a correre sù e giù per il piano.
