Impulse stop for lunch, based on a friend's recommendation. Very friendly, cheerful staff... small but varied choice of lunch dishes; both we had were v.good. Prices seemed to reflect the quality of service, food and settings. I'm sure we'll be back! (I've seen advert saying the business is up for sale (Jun 2022)... is that still the case?

Very expensive for breakfast will not be back. Used to have free tea with breakfast but now a 5 piece fry is £6 and then you have to buy your tea. Not worth it! Will not be back

I go here quite regularly for lunch or coffee always enjoy it so decided to try the afternoon tea. It was absolutely beautiful and excellent value for money. Contemporary in that it doesn’t include traditional sandwiches (thank goodness). Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending, pre booking is essential. Staff friendly and professional, quality of food excellent.

We had lunch here on a very busy Saturday. I was very impressed with the range of food available and everything we ordered was very tasty. A fab range of scrumptious tray bakes too! Very reasonably priced.

My wife and I availed of Contemporary Afternoon Tea at Kitchen 16 Ahoghill on Friday 7th February 2020. Served between 2 -4 pm. 4 pm is closing time. Advise booking as busy. Promptly seated and food served promptly by friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Obviously very popular venue. Noted other meals bring served - looked delicious with ample portions- good varied menu to suit all tastes.

Had our Christmas dinner here and despite being really busy everything was really well cooked and presented. All food is cooked from scratch.The staff are very friendly and you're made to feel very welcome. Can't recommend enough.

I come here quite regularly and it never disappoints. The atmosphere and staff are so welcoming and the food is always great. They have a wide variety of choice and a changing menu. At lunchtime it can get very busy and queuing may be necessary, but it's worth the wait.

We had lunch there I had the salmon dish but they happily substituted boiled rice instead of the potato croquettes and my husband had the 3 mini sliders Three small baps containing in turn beef chicken and fish served with a salad coleslaw and a small wire basket of chips Both plates were very attractively presented . Lovely varied menu and helpful friendly staff Lovely bright modern restaurant It was recommended to us and we were not disappointed

Called in for mid morning scone and hot chocolate. Both were delicious great choice of pasties and breakfast items even does aftenoon tea cant wait to go back.

Anytime we come here for lunch it is absolutely lovely. Staff are so helpful and friendly and lyndsay is very helpful explaining the dishes. Interior is so clean and the food is amazing as are the desserts. We actually live 20 miles away but prefer to come here

Not just coffee and a bun - a wickedly delicious gooey chocolate fudge cake, fresh cream, strawberry sauce, fresh strawberry and mini marshmallows, accompanied by a really good latte. Friendly and efficient staff, light spacious surroundings, what more could one ask.

I live 2 minutes from Kitchen 16 and usually visit about once a week for a coffee and scone these scones are to die for Have had cooked meals too from soup paninis to full meals everything is freshly prepared good quality top class food

Hidden gem, food beautiful, spotlessly clean, staff lovely, girl behind counter said the cakes and buns tasted as good as they looked, and she was right....will be back next week.

The food was very good the place very clean, staff nice maybe just a little expensive for what you get, other then that I would recommend it.

We were staying with friends in the Ahoghill across from Newcastle been meaning to go before but didn’t have time we managed to fit it in this time three of us went for lunch. The food was delicious we all had different sweet potato soup, haddock fish cakes, bagels with sweet onion bacon and cheese amazing, and the deserts were to die for. Not cheep but you get what you pay for and no one could fault the food will defiantly be back yummy.

A lovely lunch had today. Really tasty soup and a sandwich, made fresh. Service was great and the staff can't do enough for you and very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely lovely lovely!!! I’m a very plain eater and menu wouldn’t be that plain, but they were able to make me exactly what I wanted!! Brilliant staff and lovely food. I had the burger, and it was lovely! On the down side, it was a bit in the pricey side, but still, lovely!!

If you like mince pies then Kitchen 16 is place to go. Heated with cream- delicious. Lots of different coffees yo choose from. Carol and staff are amazing

As a retired couple travelling around the country (isn't retirement wonderful?) we're always on the lookout for tea shops and places where we can break our journey for a light lunch. Kitchen 16 was recommended to us by a lady we met while sharing a lunch table elsewhere. We've only stopped there twice but we've seen enough to be impressed. The food, including cakes and snacks, is home made and delicious. The restaurant area is bright, modern, clean and uncluttered with plenty of space between tables. And the staff are wonderful. Service is fast, personal and fun.

This a fantastic place to have lunch with a great variety of home made proper food items to choose from. Unpretentious tasty soup and hot meals which taste as good as they look. Value for money is in the quality of the food, I have visited many times.

Kitchen 16 is a definite family favourite and never disappoints whether it's breakfast, lunch or a hearty meal. This is good, welcoming home cooking and their standards are exceptional. The desserts and treats are beautiful

Stopped here for a quick lunch. This is a modern restaurant without any special ambiance. Appears to be a typical local restaurant. If you want an experience this is not it. But if you want to eat, the food is good and the prices reasonable. I would eat here again.

This has to be the best eating place in ahoghill way Better than the so called tea room. The staff here are so welcoming and inviting and helpful you know what you’ll want the second you walk in the food is perfect and cooked as such the cleanliness here is perfect you could eat your dinner off the floor you have to stop here as you’ll taste hearty food at its best

Found this lovely cafe down a side street in Ahoghill. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Had a lovely breakfast but also noticed some delicious cakes. Will definitely revisit for some morning coffee or afternoon tea. The decor is clean bright and fresh and the cafe extends back further then I first thought when I first entered. A very good experience.

I have eaten in Kitchen 16 many times since it opened and I would describe both the food and the staff as excellent. I've eaten there on my own, with friends and with family (including children) and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food is fresh and tasty and served with a smile. I would recommend Kitchen 16 to anyone looking for good food, good service and good prices. Don't wait too long before visiting!

What a friendly busy cafe. Excellent choice of food from scones to full lunches Almost too many to choose from! A lovely atmosphere.... modern and very clean . And the desserts!!!!!We will be back

Friendly staff, good value food and I intend returning in near future as I consider it to be first class.

Was in the town at the health trust with my daughter & granddaughter attending an appointment, we had 90 minutes to wait so I went off to get coffee. Kitchen 16 was recommended to me so I drove down parked in a church car park ( apparently used during the day). I have some disabilities & I use a walker which when I got to the door proved problematic, I had 2 steps to negotiate but help was at hand. One of the staff saw me & helped me in. I went on to place my order from I have to say a wide range & when it was ready & paid for another member of staff carried it out to the car for me in pouring rain. It is tastefully decorated & as there will be further appointments I am going in to sit down & have lunch.

I have done breakfast early lunch and coffee here. It never disappoints. The food is good the staff are really friendly and it is spacious enough to have a conversation without other people being to close. Breakfast again in it soon

Had a lovely lunch. Kids welcomed warmly. The kids lunch meal deal was excellent both in quality and quantity. A Main course then ice cream with sweets and a drink . The drink was decanted in to small old style milk bottle and straw with names then written on bottles. Kids adored it , staff friendly to children . I had soup and wheaten which was delicious. Will be back. Can recommend food service and the staff.

The service is excellent and friendly and the Cafe is spotless. The food for us was average. It is more a cafe than a Restaurant. I had chicken and broccoli bake it was a fairly small portion of chicken not all breast meat in white sauce with onion and a little bit of mashed potato on top. I had expected nice big chunks of chicken and broccoli in a pasta and cheese sauce so this was a disappointment. There are plenty of sweet muffins and traybakes so it would be a nice place for a coffee.

we have been a few times to Kitchen 16 and I would recommend it to anyone the staff are excellent and the food is first class also our Christmas Lunch was beautiful and served with a smile we will be back

Approaching the back entrance I tripped and headbutted the glass door. Fortunately no harm done to me or the door. The decor is calming, the staff very welcoming, the seating comfortable and not crushed together (one of my pet gripes with many places). There is an excellent range of food and drink choice, from snack to full meal. Our first visit was for coffee and cake, our second for a small meal. We were totally satisfied each time. And we offered refills of our drinks on each visit. We'll be back.

Went here on our lunch break and couldn’t believe how busy it was . Lots of things on the menu, but NOT for plain eaters. Very disappointed in the mains choices, but they excel in their desserts.

The premises are airy and appropriately presented as is the display of foods that you observe on entry. Attention to presentation is obvious and appreciated. The quality is very good indeed as is the attention to customer service. Will return again as our first impressions were very favourable!

My husband and I visited Kitchen 16 on the 21st Oct 2017. The restaurant is spacious, very clean and the décor is really nice.The food is of great quality and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and all very attentive to the customers. This is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We will definitely be back again very soon.

Visited this fairly new watering hole in Ahoghill yesterday with a friend.We felt at first it was quite pricey but changed our minds when the food arrived.Taste and obvious quality makes it more than worth while you get what you pay for as they say.A spacious modern restaurant with attentive and friendly staff give it a try you will enjoy.We will be back

My wife and I were invited by a dear friend for lunch in this newly opened restaurant. We were in for a real treat in this friendly, spacious and welcoming family enterprise. The food was visually mouth watering and didn't fail to satisfy. Served by hard working and sociable staff who paid great attention to customers. Do not miss this oasis in Co. Antrim
