We were part of a large christening party for a Sunday carvery today, we we were seated immediately and had our drinks order taken on being seated. The starters were great choices of soups and rolls, a large salad selection chicken wings, and ribs etc. The main was good typical of a carvery with selections being replenished can be hit and miss ham was great for me turkey was bit dry. Dessert was great, there was a large selection for all tastes. The staff are extremely hard working and bent over backwards to accommodate us, hats off and 5 stars for them. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are kept immaculate. I would highly recommend.

I don't normally write bad reviews, but in this instance I feel I have too. I am disabled, in a wheelchair. I booked the carvery for my 60th birthday, I was disappointed in the choice of food that was not meat. I do like some fish but my husband was told that if he wanted the salmon he would have to up to the restaurant to get it. As he was unwilling to leave me I had to make do what else was available. As the result the only thing I enjoyed was the pudding. All this I would have accepted but when I wanted a disabled toilet, not only was it not clear where it was,but after been taken down several corridors I found that it was in a narrow corridor which had several large TVs on stands blocking the access. I managed to get in but I was unable to get out. My husband had to man handle my wheelchair out backwards. I find it surprising that such a large hotel, with several different function rooms would gave so few disabled parking spaces and only one disabled toilet. Totally ruined my 60th birthday. I will not be back.

£50 for two deserts for my two children has left a bad taste in my mouth, was told kids were not allowed to join us without paying the full £25 price despite advising that they had eaten at McD’s before hand (couldn’t force feed them a proper dinner), Rang today to complain but they didn’t offer me anything except for an apology, won’t be coming back! Won’t be getting any more money from me.

Have visited a number of times over the years for their Sunday carvery which is very well priced. Service is great, staff are friendly and the hotel itself is stunning.

I can't say enough good things about the staff at this hotel. You're not a guest, you're a resident. The rooms are fantastic, and the food is amazing! This was our third visit. Highly recommended!

Was a guest at a wedding here it is an absolutely beautiful place, food was fantastic,my jids actually ate the vegetable soup, one usually likes boring food like nuggets, so this was a great surprise that she ate it and loved it,definitely a place to visit.

Excellent service, friendly staff and beautiful food. Outstanding experience. Although the hotel could do with an elevator as my husband had a knee replacement and found the stairs difficult.

At Robinsons Costcutter you can always be sure of delicious dishes especially their Pies which are quite expensive for the size but they are well filled unlike Barrs Pies which are very tasty but the meat content is so scant it's like it was smeared on with a knife, these are well filled with high quality beef or chicken.

So excited to finally go here with my daughter but the experience wasn't what I expected. For the prices there is no table service you have to order at the till. I was not advised correctly when asking about the Spanish hot chocolate. It isn't a drink it comes in a bowl for dipping biscuits in. I specifically asked was it like a normal hot chocolate you could drink and was told yes. I ordered coffee and 2 savoury pancakes. Paying by card I was asked to select what tip I wanted to leave. Feeling like I had no option I left one. Then we waited on our food. I had to go and order tea after the "drinks" arrived as the Spanish hot chocolate is not a drink and leave another tip. We waited again and after 35 minutes of waiting I asked for a refund. To be told that the food order hadn't been sent to the kitchen. We didn't have time to wait any longer. When the refund was being done they didn't ask what of your tip you would like refunded. I don't mind paying for service but we didn't get any. Can't review the food as we didn't get any of that. Won't be back. Sometimes best to stick to the places you know.

Impulse stop for lunch, based on a friend's recommendation. Very friendly, cheerful staff... small but varied choice of lunch dishes; both we had were v.good. Prices seemed to reflect the quality of service, food and settings. I'm sure we'll be back! (I've seen advert saying the business is up for sale (Jun 2022)... is that still the case?

We've visited Rose Cafe many times and haev never been disappointed. They do a tasty fry, really lovely coffee and tea, and an amazing selection of homespun Sunday dinners! Highly recommended. Every time we go, we're stunned at the great value for money. The icing on the cake is the friendly owner, who shows she's glad of the business and always make us glad we dropped in.
