Not recommended, I need to write a 100 words to review this place, we thought a Greek food experience would be worth it but we should of checked the reviews before.

Sat outside on the street as the north road was blocked as it is in the summer, expected it to be a nice meal out but we ordered the gyros wraps and they were terrible quality. I would not be happy with the quality even if I ordered them as a takeaway. One of their apps was named ‘wild traditional boar’, but tasted more like a cheap sausage. Complained and the waiter still added the service charge onto the bill, we had to ask him to take it off. Would definitely not return.

Incredible green food. We had a range of small plates and ordered more as it was so delicious. Would highly recommend the feta in filo pastry and the grilled octopus. Will definitely visit again!

This slightly awkward space with a bar between two rooms connected by a narrow corridor has been home to a large number of different restaurants and cuisines over the years. its previous incarnations have included a Spanish tapas bar, a short-lived home for Caspian cuisines and even a distant outpost of the Scottish Malt Whisky Society. It now works well as a casual Greek cafe. With its tables outside fully occupied on a warm Saturday afternoon one could with one’s eyes close imagine an Aegean beach rather than a pedestrianised Northcote Road. The menu is the standard Greek fayre you find in Greek establishments up and down the country although the prices are more akin to the nouveau Aegean tapas bars and restaurants in Notting Hill. I enjoyed a generous portion of taramasalata with crispy pitta bread. A long skewer of pork came with fries rather than chips but none the worst for that. Another customer came in asking if they had beer on draught and left when he was told they didn’t. Not sure that would have been an issue for me as there was a good selection of bottled one of which I had enjoyed myself. But later I asked about a double espresso specifically advertised on a blackboard above the bar but was told their machine wasn’t working. I then asked about a Greek coffee (presumably not dependant upon an espresso machine) but was told that wasn’t available either.

Had a surprise birthday party here for my husband, the staff were so helpful from start to finish, the set meze was lovely, all of our guests enjoyed the food, nice relaxed atmosphere, plus Greek music! made my husband's 60th birthday a memorable one, we will definitely be back soon!

Came here for dinner at the restaurant on Northcote Road (not Calvert Place as this listing seems to list?) and had the grilled octopus (£14) to start which was really nice. Hubby had the halloumi fries (£8.50). We then had the kleftiko (£19) and the stifado with rice (£14). The stifado was okay but it was bulked out with onions and not much meat, and the rice looked and tasted like those packet rices you microwave which have little peas and carrots mixed through it, so the main meal was really disappointing. It was a shame as we love Greek food and we were speaking to the guy running the place who is working all hours as it's hard to find staff right now, and he's also there 7 days a week. So a lovely guy, but the food let this down.

I’d wanted to come here / was curious to try another one of the dozens of restaurants on Northcote Rd… Unfortunately for them they opened just before Covid and had to close due to restrictions… Anyway this Friday evening in August most restaurants were full so we tried opa opa as appeared to have some tables available ( is that a bad sign )…. There was 3 in our party and the waiter sat us at a table, which happened to be directly under a large tv showing tourism’s video of Greece like a travel agents, roof of restaurant was mirrored like a dodgy hotel.., let’s hope food is better than decorating lol Waiter arrived and took order unfortunately tried to memorise it, didn’t write it down and unsurprisingly forgot one of entree’s… Anyway tzatziki & melitzanosalata was tasty with flatbread… hummus would of been nice if waiter remembered… the 3 of us went for the wraps and enjoyed them 2 lamb 1 chicken, I actually ordered a second.., Some of the prices are questionable on menu… The Greek wine was nice… Anyway another restaurant off list, would I return that’s the big question… The bill for 3 - £75

I ate at this restaurant last year and I was excited to go back. However the overall standard of the food was really bad. I don’t know if the people in the kitchen have changed or Covid has resulted in cut backs. The halloumi was over cooked and hard. The lamb cutlets were thin, dry and really quite hard. It was like everything had been cooked a week ago and then just heated up. The lamb cutlets were so bad and then accompanied by a small handful of fries, all for £18. Just really not great. Unfortunately I definitely would not go back.

I was in the area for business & looking for somewhere outside for lunch, spotted this restaurant with pretty outside eating area. Very friendly member of staff looked after us throughout our stay. We both had the lunchtime special which for £10pp was great value. Well presented & very tasty kebab wrap & chips. Recommend 👌

Came here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was amazing - special shout out to the vegetable moussaka and roasted potatoes. The waiter was so friendly and the desserts were heavenly. Will be returning asap!

This was my first time in this restaurant. My friends enjoyed moussaka and grilled chicken, Spinach and cheese filo pastry was a delicious starter. They had a nice Greek yogurt and tzatziki to accompany our meal! Great restaurant I highly recommend.

Called up with a delivery query - really rude lady answered the phone and wasn’t even prepared to speak to me and didn’t even listen to my question. She just said she hadn’t time to answer questions and to pose my question to Deliveroo (which obvs wouldn’t have been able to answer it given the query I had!) So i obvs didn’t order food but put me off ever wanting to either!! You sound think they would value any customers they had in present times, but instead, they seem disinterested in service

Was looking forward to coming here as love Greek food but unfortunately this was really very poor. The service was very slow and unfriendly even though the restaurant wasn’t full, and the food was below average. We ordered the fava dip which wasn’t bad (but didn’t come with pitta bread...?! We had to order this separately), and the smoked aubergine dip which we only ate a bit of as it was flavourless and seemed to be mixed with some sort of mayonnaise and had a super slimy texture. My partner had a below average moussaka and I ordered the smoked aubergine with tomatoes. The potatoes and the aubergine were swimming in oil, under seasoned and the sauce was tinned tomatoes and peppers - pretty basic for £14. I ended up sending mine back as was not interested in eating it unfortunately. The manager/owner then approached us (without a mask) and proceeded to embarrass me in front of the other customers in the restaurant and argue with me about why his dish was good enough. He believed that this type of heavy oily dish should be eaten at lunch, not in the evening and told me that everyone else likes this plate, and implied that it was my problem. I was thoroughly embarrassed as it was the first time I have ever sent a plate back in a restaurant and In the end left the place almost in tears after the rude manager left our table. PLEASE AVOID.

Friendly staff, amazing quality of food! Fish was amazing!!! All the starters are super tasty and fast service! Can’t wait to be back! See you soon opa opa

We have ordered 2 wraps, halloumi and pork one. The food was delivered via Uber Eats. Halloumi wrap was completely cold and the tissue paper was soaking wet with ketchup! The pork was pink and not cooked. This is really serious safe and healthy issue! We have called up the restaurant within 5 minutes of receiving our food and the lady on the phone was very arrogant and not helpful at all. When asked for manager she advised to call back in 10 mins since they’re really busy and there’s no manager on the shift. Very, very disappointing. Not only food but customer service (lack of it)!
