Very chill place to have breakfast. Similar cost to Wetherspoons but much less crowded.

Sorry but this place it's not what the reviews are showing. Cakes always covered with plastic, the owner is really weird and opens when he wants. Very disorganised and decoration is pink and cheap. Several times we asked for things and he sold out, but the place is empty. It has potential.. but. Never again

Tried the breakfast. Menu was limited but covered the basic breakfast dishes. I had the "3 fried eggs on toast" Unfortunately the eggs were hard and burnt on the bottom.

This is a great café, I have been here a few times. This time, due to illness they were short of some staff. Even so, they pulled out all the stops and were still able to give the customers one hundred percent.

Lovely platters, all locally sourced. Great local beer from Mr Bees. Well worth a visit.

Went for the all day breakfast and it was lovely and so reasonably priced. Homemade bread and baked beans 👌🏻 service was also so attentive and friendly. 100% would recommend!

I’ve been coming here for some time. They sell the best breakfast. The toast is amazing and the staff are so nice and polite. They accommodate alterations.

Relaxed and welcoming cafe in St Peter's St, offering delicious home cooked meals and a range of drinks (including beer, wine and alcoholic smoothies). Definitely recommend the mac n cheese (absolutely smothered in 3 yummy cheeses); also the famous Sunday roasts (leave room for pudding. They are HUGE); and Richard's signature huffin (A light scone base covered in melted cheese, bacon and a perfect runny egg). Listen out for the eclectic music choices and enjoy the friendly and genuine service.

Wonderful Sunday roast . Beef, pork loin or chicken and vegetarian options with yorkshire, roasties, lots of vegetables and gravy. They do a small portion or large! And good choice of puds too. Scrummy.

A lovely friendly team and chef and the food from the breakfasts to the roasts and desserts are just delicious and all homemade, including the bread. I especially recommend the Sunday roasts.

First time visit, we really enjoyed our lunch, good quality ingredients, bread is made fresh on site which made the toasties taste as good as they did. Staff are very friendly, The tables and chairs we of a high standard of clealiness. We will be back at the first opportunity. Noticed they do a Sunday Roast which is very reasonable, definitely will be back for a try.

Went for a coffee but have been tempted with vegetarian Sunday roast. It was delicious. Nice simple place, outstanding food and drinks, competitive prices. Paid parking near by. Good service. It was about 8 of us and we have carried away with talking. Places should have close an hour ago and no one said anything. Haven’t rushed us at all.

Went in for a light lunch today. There was a little wait, which I understood as I had the halloumi and sweet chilli jam, and the staff were so apologetic and gave me a few free items to make up for the inconvenience. Lovely lemon drizzle cake, rich tangy smoothie and a nice unusual strawberry and rhubarb drink as well :) thanks on the huh

Absolute hidden gem of a place (my friend and I suspect this is one of Ipswich’s best kept secrets). The food is always gorgeously prepared and always amazingly fresh - truly have never had anything less than a 5* meal, and always for a v reasonable price. The owner and staff are absolutely lovely as well, which always makes the entire experience super enjoyable. We had plenty more food, but forgot to take pictures before we had started on it 😅

Food is always fabulous, as is the service. Always a joy to visit. Editing to add photos - we had tapas, with plenty of sangria. Delicious tomato salad, olives, a selection of charcuterie, patatas bravas and some halloumi fries that were so delicious we ate them before we managed to photograph them.

Extremely friendly staff - they added an egg/sausage because the food took a bit longer.

I only had coffee , so I can't really comment on the food. Only that the cakes looked delicious . My wife did have a sausage roll though, and she liked it. Gave it a four as it was cold and not warm. None the less it's a lovely place to watch the world go by

We both had mac cheese. Not quick, so avoid if you're in a hurry, but good food takes a while - this is not fast food - definitely worth the wait. Beautifully cooked, nicely seasoned with mustard. Couldn't resist a cake after. I had a flapjack, he had a brownie. Both very, very good.

I absolutely love love love this place!! I have been back multiple times and will continue to do so. Their roast dinners are just incredible, their sandwiches are delicious and their Mac and cheese is the best I have ever had. On top of serving delicious food, and drinks, the customer service is brilliant too. Really lush little place with indoor and outdoor seating. Without a doubt our favourite place to go for lunch in Ipswich.

Nothing special especially when you have to wait for 25+ minutes for a sandwich and at least one other person was served a full English before us but came in after us. Won’t be using again

We visited On The Huh in May 2022 for my fiancès birthday breakfast and we loved it. The restaurant is decorated in a very arty and original way which makes you feel cosy. The chef and owner themself, Richard, came out to check on how we were doing and if we were enjoying the food which we were very much and then explained how the food was all homemade from scratch including the bread which is amazing and we were very impressed. We have to commend the restaurant and Richard for all the effort made and put into the restaurant, it's a great place to go and eat and we will definitly try lunch and dinner there in future too!

Visited for Sunday lunch we hadn't prebooked but did call ahead on the day and were able to get a table for 2.. all other tables were full when we got there so certainly recommend booking. We both had the roast beef which was perfectly cooked (a little pink) and a good couple of thick slices served. The Yorkshire pudding was large and excellent, soft bottom and crispy top the best I've had served in a long time. Plenty of veg with 4 different choices including suede, cauliflower, broccoli and carrot. All excellently cooked and not mushy. The gravy was tasty too and the roast potatoes, crispy on the outside and fluffy like mash inside. We had a bottle of white wine and also 2 desserts, the last portion of apple and Berry crumble with custard and the chocolate brownie both really good. The chocolate brownie was enough to share. Total of £58 without tip. Really enjoyed it. Would definitely go again.

Popped in for coffee & cake with friends. My mocha was one of the best I've had. I was so tempted to have a toasted doorstep sandwich, they looked so delicious, but I knew I wouldn't finish it & no-one wanted to share. We all had lemon drizzle cake, it was fab. Three cakes, a mocha, a latté & an americano for £12? Absolute value for money.

Had a lovely lunch here, pumpkin spice latte, and salt beef, cheese, mustard and gherkin sandwich. Great value and service too 💕

Had lunch and Sunday roast here this last weekend! Both were delicious. The vegan roast is my favourite in the area. Exceptional homemade food, made with good quality local produce.

Short lunch menu, but would recommend the 'Huffin' filled cheese scone. Good value, friendly service, sunny spot.

Came in for lunch and dinner twice in the last few weeks, and both times were wonderful! Staff are extremely friendly, as they were happy to change things around or answer any questions; you can tell there is a lot of passion put into this place. They have a wide array of options - so vegans and vegetarians feel very welcome. Bread was delicious and warm, you could tell it was baked fresh. Tried the meat, cheese and bread selections: all were delicately made and you definitely get a lot more than expected from the asking price. Tried the pizza with olives, mushrooms and caramelised onions; you could tell the pizzas were made fresh, along with the sauce and toppings. The cake selections are also super tasty, as I tried the Vegan Flapjack and Brownie. You could tell the individual ingredients used to make them weren’t cheap (or at least it didn’t taste like it)- Brownie was creamy, soft and didn’t taste overly rich at all. Vegan Flapjack was also very tasty. Honestly is a lovely place that deserves A LOT more attention, which is why I decided to write this review.

The best breakfast in Ipswich but far. Really amazing place.

Possibly the slowest service in a cafe that I have ever had. They took nearly 40 minutes to make two toasties. The woman who seemed to be running it was so apologetic but the rest of the staff unfortunately seemed clueless. Nice toastie when it finally arrived though, but never again.

6 of us had Sunday dinner...very good produce, nicely cooked with good service...second time of eating here would thoroughly recommend

We went sailing with our friends at the weekend and enjoyed the gorgeous cheese scones and chocolate brownies from your restaurant she brought for our snacks, they were lush. Can't wait for our next visit!!

Fabulous place, people and food. Richard has done an awesome job setting up On The Huh. I finally got around to heading back to Suffolk and checking it out last month - and the menu, food, setting and service were all absolutely on point... I'd definitely recommend to anyone finding themselves near Ipswich with a caffeine craving or a hunger pang!

Been here a few times now, the selection of drinks and food is top quality and, although situated in the centre of town, is a pleasant atmosphere to sit outside and eat. The sandwiches are a little on the expensive side and would be good with some crisps to compliment, but taste great. The weekend specials such as the pizzas are fantastic and the staff are friendly and accommodating!

On the huh is a lovely cafe. I sat on the outside tables. I had a pot of tea, a cheese scone and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. Everything was delicious. Staff are really friendly. I highly recommend.
