Olive Tree Restaurant Buxton in High Peak

We came to Olive tree for our daughters 22 birthday, it’s such a warm and welcoming place truly one of Buxton’s hidden jems , service was smooth and seamless with our group of 9 everyone ate at the same time and the food is outstanding the flavours 👌🏼 presented beautifully and they made my daughters day playing happy birthday and bringing a cake and candle . I’m already planning another visit and can nor recommend this place enough. Book a table you won’t be sorry !!

I booked this little restaurant for my husband's birthday. We were a group of seven people and a mixture of ages. The owner was lovely very friendly and helpful looked after us very well making sure that we were happy with the food. I rang up a couple of days before the booking with our starters order and when we arrived they were straight on it. The young girls that were waiting tables were also very friendly and hard working. The food was excellent, extremely tasty, beautiful lamb , chicken , sucuk, fish. No one was disappointed. The owner sorted a little candle baklava and we all sang " Happy Birthday" it was a wonderful very special evening and we now have some excellent memories. If you are in Buxton you would be crazy not to give it a go!

We came to the Olive tree on an impromptu decision, and so glad we did! Food was excellent (so much that I ordered another starter whilst I was eating it!) Baklava was immense. Staff were so lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be returning 🤩

Exceptional food here at The Olive Tree, we had the grilled seabass on a bed of Mediterranean vegetables and mashed potato and a vegetarian pizza. Customer service also excellent, so friendly. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Lovely cosy small restaurant. Everyone smiling and polite. Food fresh and well presented, very tasty. Would recommend for a relaxed evening.

Just lovely. Attentive, friendly, but not obtrusive service. The food is delicious. We recommend the falafels, hummus, vegetarian platter and Baclava to finish with. Bread is homemade. The Baclava was so light....unlike anything we've ever had before. That's because it's homemade on the premises. Highly recommended.

First time at the Olive Tree and cannot fault it. We had three courses and all were really lovely, staff and owner were attentive and good service. Good atmosphere. Complimentary baklava was a nice touch. Great evening overall and will be going again.

This was our 2nd meal at The Olive Tree when visiting Buxton and well worth the repeat visit. Friendly staff, delicious food and great value for money. It’s not far from the centre of Buxton and definitely worth the short walk.

We visited the olive tree for our first wedding anniversary so wanted somewhere special and it was definitely that. The food was lovely and serves was excellent.

Beautiful food, outstanding service. Friendly and attentive staff that catered for a family of 10. Would defo recommend if you want tasty Mediterranean food in a lovely restaurant with amazing staff. Would highly recommend the lamb chops!

We got a table here for a NYE meal while visiting Buxton. Not an overly large menu which I find is a plus as it usually means that more care is taken over each individual dish. We ordered starters and mains which were all piping hot, well presented and flavoursome. We would highly recommend the home made bread to go with whatever you order as it was perfect. Prices were average I would say. Could have used a little more meat in the main but we were satisfied by the end of the meal. An authentic meal with no complaints from either of us. Well done Olive Tree.

My Wife took me to see Russell Kane. Before we went we went to try this little restaurant. Pls I can say is - what an absolute Gem of a place. Fantastic ambience and great smiling family run staff. The food was home cooked and nothing short of lovely. We will definitely return Merry Christmas and thanks

Dropped by hoping for space and told was full but will check with manager who thought about it for a bit then said we are full but I will make room for you. the food i would describe as average and a bit on the pricey side for what you did get. needed desert as we were still hungry. Not first choice for restaurants in Buxton but ok for when others are full

Evening visit whilst away with family in Buxton. Had a lovely experience. Food was all wonderful, perfect sized portions. Very tasty and really well cooked. We all got a complimentary dessert too, baklava. It was delicious. The staff were all lovely too and you could tell they were really passionate about the food and service.

Really enjoyed the whole experience at this restaurant. Made very welcome, spoilt for choice on the menu. The dishes we ordered tasted delicious and were beautifully presented. I definitely recommend eating here to others if you're looking for fresh, authentic food.

Another fantastic family meal. My father-in-law requested this restaurant for his 85th Birthday having had a family meal for our daughter in February. 13 people catered for superbly, communication was brilliant, we pre-ordered our starters and mains through WhatsApp, and all the starters and mains came out together, fresh, hot and delicious. My favourite restaurant for the quality of food, service, value, and atmosphere. I hope the reviews regarding tips aren't true as that would be such a shame...

We dined on Friday and we have been before which was lovely but unfortunately our experience of the place now is disappointing. A man came over to take our order and leaned on our table to do it extremely rude .. we noticed that he did everything and the lovely Lorena who was being shouted at was not allowed to do anything at all this man was very controlling and rude the vibe has gone rotten .. we had also just read the review on here about staff not getting tips well we noticed that first hand when we wanted to leave a cash tip Disgraceful

We was really disappointed in the restaurant last night after we witnessed a staff member being bullied when she asked about her wages and tips she was entitled to .. two restaurant owners stood either side of her and said if she takes minimum wages she gets no tips … if she takes less wage she gets £5 or £10 tips a week and that the owners were keeping all the tips to themselves … we would never of left a tip on card if we had know she wouldn’t receive it …. thank goodness for the new tipping law coming out 1st October they will have a shock but all the hard work the staff do and don’t receive a single tip is disgraceful to say the least …. We really enjoyed the place but now it’s left a disgusting taste in our mouths and won’t be back

We were staying at a guest house nearby and came here for a meal on a Friday evening. It turned out to be a very good choice. We were eating early and when we arrived, we were the only customers but the place soon started filling up and by the time we left was nearly full. It clearly has a good, well-deserved reputation locally. The style is Greek, although other Mediterranean dishes are also on the menu. I had the Stuffed Aubergine starter, followed by the Lamb Casserole main and the Baklava dessert. All were perfectly cooked and delicious. To accompany we had a good red Rioja. Three of us were eating. The total came to a very reasonable £112. Service was excellent. The atmosphere enjoyable. We will be coming here again.

If you like Greek and or Turkish food then this is the place to dine. We were met by charming polite respectful mature staff who clearly all have a lifetime of experience in the restaurant trade. Lovely clean place with tasteful decor. Food was fantastic and the house Merlot was divine.

Stayed in Buxton for 7 nights & dined here x3. Food lovely & piping hot. Mediterranean Chicken for me & Salmon Fillet for my girlfriend was our favourite. Baklava for sweet, which arrived 3x cubes plus ice cream scoop & 3x Turkish Delights (?). Lovely friendly staff & chef.

We have been in Buxton for 7 nights and visited Olive Tree Restaurant three times. It is a stunning restaurant, small and perfect. The food is piping hot and so tasty. If you visit Buxton, I would definitely recommend you go. The staff and chef very friendly. 5 stars! The Mediterranean Chicken and Salmon Fillet were delicious. Also the Baklava was so yum.

The food at The Olive Tree is consistently good. There is a wide range of choices of small and large plates to suit all tastes. The service is friendly, efficient and welcoming. We have sometimes been given free baklava which is delicious. Would highly recommend.

What a gem of a restaurant! We were greeted warmly and the service was fabulous. They graciously accommodated a couple of dietary needs for me. We ordered a few starters for our meal, and the food was outstanding. So freshly made and bsolutely packed with flavour! The chunks of bread were perfect for mopping up the rich sauce of the baked aubergines and king prawns. Baklava and ice cream for dessert drizzled with honey ... the perfect round out to a brilliant experience. This restaurant will be at the top of our list to visit again next time we're in Buxton!

Excellent small intimate restaurant. Good choice of food, chef very pleasant. Will definitely find here again when in Buxton, a hidden gem!
