Olive House in Sheffield

I absolutely love this restaurant. I’ve been many times and I’ve never had a bad meal or experience there. I have a gluten intolerance and the staff are so helpful with food and alternatives. The food is honestly some of the best I’ve eaten and the portions are so generous. As soon as we need a restaurant to go to whether that’s a meal with friends or a special occasion as a couple this is the first place I go to. Each time I go I try and have something different as there’s so much choice… although the lamb chops do draw me in!

Visited with friends for the first time. Fabulous food, friendly staff and lovely decor. Highly recommend for nice, tasty healthy food. We will be back!

Visited Olive House last night for a birthday dinner and could not recommend more. The food was gorgeous - the feta rolls were the best we have ever had! Will certainly be returning.

Recientemente hice una visita a este restaurante y tuvimos una velada muy agradable. Es recomendable reservar ya que no es el restaurante más grande. Hay un pequeño aparcamiento en la parte trasera, ya que el aparcamiento es escaso alrededor. No hay una selección masiva de cervezas, pero la carta de vinos probablemente lo compense. El servicio fue excelente en todo. El menú es muy extenso, con un montón de opciones, especialmente en los entrantes y la red. Realmente disfrutamos de la noche y sin duda volveremos. Sigue con el buen trabajo.

Comida muy sabrosa en un entorno recién renovado y espacioso. Gran servicio amable. Sin duda volveremos y traeremos familiares y amigos.

I really enjoy the flavours of Mediterranean food and the Olive House did not disappoint! Everything we had was cooked to perfection beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful. I don't think I've eaten lamb so tender before. The babaganoosh and spicy sausage starters set the palate up for main meal of excellent quality. The olive house is not the cheapest, but it's excellent value for the quality of food. Fete greeted us like long lost friends coped with our ridiculous indecision over wines and gave helpful suggestions about menu choices. We felt like family by the time we left The Olive house is a wonderful restaurant, it has seating in the basement for quiet romantic times. Light and airy feel on the ground floor ,toilets are downstairs so not sure how accessible it would be for disabled people. But I believe staff would go out of their way to make things work. We enjoyed our stay and hope we can get back to eat again.

We have visited this restaurant many times before and always loved it. We were in the area and so obviously wanted to re-visit. Wow! This place only gets better. Food fabulous, staff amazing. Definitely give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Great food. Lovely staff and service. Wide range of choice meant everyone had something they enjoyed. Ordered the hummus and bread for starters. Felt like there was a very small amount of bread for the hummus provided. Otherwise excellent.

Popped in on the off chance at 6pm. Staff were very accommodating. Beautiful food and wine, everything was just perfect.

Went to this restaurant with the full family after getting a good review, however…firstly the wine; manager/owner was reluctant to offer us the house wine. Stating that the house wine available was priced at £30 a bottle…when pressed, they offered a separate menu with more options! (Felt this was a little cheeky as the other options were cheaper) The food…for the quality and size of portions this restaurant is extremely expensive…seafood linguine was massively overcooked and the lamb shank dish looked like it had been thought up by somebody who had never cooked a restaurant quality dish in there life. At a near £20 the amount of fat on the shank was enough to grease several baking tins… This dish was served in a type of Tomato soup which would have been fine but the chef had decided to have the addition of puréed Potatoes which when added to the soup turned into a sort of mush that could only be described as having the same consistency as baby food… Very disappointing…to top this off when the meal was finished and the owner/manager came to take our plates the site of the near untouched dishes did not prompt him to make any comment on our satisfaction…would not recommend.

First time visit for us, we were out for a family meal to celebrate my daughters 13th. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and great with my daughters. The food was delicious and there were so many nice choices on the menu we were spoilt for choice. The evening was topped off with a complementary slice of cake with a candle and a round of happy birthday, which was a lovely surprise. My 9 year old has declared its her new favourite restaurant so expect we’ll be back soon!

Visited for the first time for my son’s 16th birthday and it won’t be the last. Fantastic welcome from all the staff who were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was delicious we all had different starters, prawns, calamari spicy sausage and garlic bread, all fabulous and beautifully presented. The mains did not disappoint either we all had different kebabs and the meat was all great quality, the rice cooked just right and the salad very fresh. The staff brought my son a little dessert with candles in without being asked which was a really lovely gesture.

The food , decor and atmosphere was 10/10. Would highly recommend. The team were really attentive . Our order was delicious prawns and feta rolls to start and lamb and portobello mushrooms for main . We will definitely be returning. Thank you for your hospitality

Avoid. Food is middle. Customers are treated ok but manager just seems like a know it all and not care about his workers, especially new ones

We celebrated a special birthday at the Olive House with a large family and friends group. The whole experience was fantastic - the food was excellent, the service and atmosphere was perfect and we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Special thanks to the owner Fethi and the waitress who made it such a great day. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Just stopped off while passing for a quick lunch. Very pleasently surprised by the great quality and friendly service that we got. Just had a mix of starters and a beer but the fresh ingredients and quality of presentation really impressed us. The owner said they had not been open long. Well if this standard continue, Im sure it will, then this place will become very popular I think. Decor is smart and 'bistroy' Planning to go back specifically in May for my birthday for a longer meal and to sample the mains. All good... highly recommend :)

Lovely food and lovely staff . Went in a group of 13 for my birthday on Sunday lunch and everything was great. They even served me my birthday cake !! Will defiantly be back

Amazing food, authentic with a modern twist. I had the tuna fillet, was a huge portion and cooked rare as I asked. The nicest Tuna I’ve had in this county and such a good price!! We ordered a mix of hot and cold starters and each one was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Some of us also managed a desert! I had the tiramisu which was delicious, not overpowering with coffee or liqueur. Great value for money, great atmosphere and attentive staff. The timings of the courses was fab, we didn’t feel rushed or that we were waiting too long. Everything was perfect! Can’t wait to come back, thanks for a great night!

First time we’ve been to Olive House Restaurant. All the staff were professional and friendly. We had starters and mains. Everyone’s meals were presented well and very tasty. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

My parents live round the corner so we had been La Scala regulars for years! We really like what the new proprietors have done with the place! The decor is so much cleaner, and brighter, and the layout much improved. Service is efficient and friendly, drinks and food arrived promptly. There are plenty of veggie options, and tasty starters, and we will definitely back to try the breakfast menu.

First time I’ve been here since it changed from an Italian and it’s absolutely fantastic. We had three meals with starters and no room for desert. Top quality food, great sized portions (especially the steaks) and nice to have decent sides included too. The star of the show was my son’s sirloin (it looked like something off master chef) We tried a bottle of the Turkish red too which was exquisite. Definitely be back

21st birthday lunch omg the staff were amazing and couldn’t have have done enough for us the the whole dining experience was lovely food was amazing delicious and portion sizes were perfect. a few fussy eaters in our group and they catered for them perfectly so professional but friendly best place around sheffield in our groups opinion you won’t be disappointed and that’s for sure thank you so much olive house for looking after us on our daughters special day they even helped with the decor going up and coming down what can I say bravo

Very impressed. Made a lunch reservation with the family. Good menu with lots of choices for kids and adults. Had the lamb wrap and kids had Spaghetti and Meatballs. The meal was beautiful. Great atmosphere and exceptionally clean toilets. We will be back.

We booked olive house for 6 of us on a very busy Saturday night and was greeted to a beautiful well decorated restaurant.The ambience is lovely and all staff very attentive.Then there was the food!The lamb Shish main and cheesecake dessert was delicious,portion sizes perfect at very reasonable prices for the quality.We had a wonderful evening and would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant,you will not be disappointed.

After reading so many excellent reviews we decided to book this venue for our wedding anniversary meal... On arrival we were taken to our seats and given menus and asked for our drinks order... We both ordered the 500ml Efes bottled beer at a price of £6.80 per bottle which seemed a bit excessive but it was our treat night so we were anticipating excellent food and service so not a major gripe, the starters arrived, calamari for me and my husband ordered the scallops, not the best I'd ever had but certainly not the worst. I ordered a chicken shish main and my husband ordered the chicken halloumi shish, both came with rice and salad. The waiter brought some flat bread to the table but there was no dipping oil/hummus/olives or anything served with it so it was all a bit pointless really. The mains arrived and there were very disappointing. The chicken was dry and tough with no marinade/seasoning/flavour just discs of dry white grilled meat. The rice was bland with no seasoning, the salad had a drizzle of dressing on it but not enough to enhance the rest of the plate... Very disappointing... Perhaps we just fell unlucky with what we ordered but every dish they offer on the menu should be at it's very best at the prices they charge... Sadly on this occasion I felt underwhelmed and won't be going back or recommending to family or friends. The bill came to £85 and despite our normal generous tipping history my Husband felt the food didn't justify a penny more... We paid and left.

This restaurant is a little gem to the area. We attended with friends for an evening meal, enjoyed the full experience of three courses starter, main and desserts. Even though Fethi and his team were rushed off there feet, as there wasnt an empty table in sight They still delivered exceptional service, and the food was just amazing. Highly recommended you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back in the future.

The quality of the food was good but more Mediterranean than Turkish which was fine. The main course portion was substantial! My main complaint is overpriced wine with no option for house wine as the previous owner did so minimum around £25 for a Pinot Grigio which would tempt me to only go for a special occasion

Went to Olive House for a family meal, four adults and a 1 year old. Started with the honeyed goats cheese. This was lovely. Really tasty and nicely presented. Then had chicken sheish with rice and salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was really tasty. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly and the service first class. We will definitely be returning.

Thoroughly enjoyable. We had starters and mains - scallops, glazed goats cheese followed by the chicken and halloumi shish & mixed grill. The starters were delicious and the meat on the mains were incredibly tender. Portion sizes were just right and not overbearing. The staff were friendly and attentive and the restaurant had a buzz to it. Would recommend :)

Having a lunch time catch up with a friend, so decided to walk down to the newly opened Olive House, as I’d always enjoyed the food when it was La Scala, so thought it would be nice to support the new owners. It didn’t disappoint. The service was friendly, and not fussy. We were presented with menus & taken to a table straight away, and not rushed with orders for drinks or food. The food arrived reasonably fast. 2 wraps, chicken mayonnaise and sweet chilli chicken. They were served with chips, and a simple rocket salad. The food tasted fresh and tasty. Good value for money, we both had drinks and coffee with the food, and it came to about £30. Hope to visit again soon to sample the evening menu.

New Year’s Eve dinner with family. We all enjoyed our food and the service. First time for all of us. A wide range of choice, suitable for all palates. I ate the tastiest calamari I have had in UK and the lamb sish was incredible, the flavour of the meat and the tenderness were superb. The fixed price menu that is current is fantastic value and drinks were very reasonable. Next time we visit my son an family I will ask to return.

Visited this newly opened restaurant just before Christmas. Impressed with new fixtures and fittings and the extensive menu. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was very well presented on attractive crockery and very enjoyable. will definitely return to try different selections. Minor personal criticism is like most modern places it was a little too bright and noisy.

Visited the Olive house for the first time tonight and it was fabulous. The decor is minimalist and stunning and the food was well presented and full of flavour. We had the festive menu which was 3 courses for £30. We will definitely be returning. Thanks to the lovely staff.

What a beautiful experience. From the plating to the flavours I cannot fault a thing. I went to The Olive House with my brother to try it out. I wasn’t expecting to be blown away in the manner that I was. There was a set menu; we tried the Sausage, Calamari, Burger, Steak and for pudding we got Tiramisu and Baklava. Just wow. Ambience - set in Millhouses. A cute little restaurant with refreshing Mediterranean colours. Very welcoming. I loved the large lighting and the fact it felt so open. Staff were lovely. We had a drinks server and a food server and both were exceptionally polite and well informed. Starters- the calamari was fresh, like no other in Sheffield. We are calamari fans and it tens to be frozen but it wasn’t here. Cooked to perfection. The detail was so spectacular that to stop the calamari from moving it lay on a strip of kale which had absorbed the flavours from the kale, it was beautiful. It’s the best I’ve tasted in Sheffield no doubt! The sausage/sucuk was the best I had in Sheffield. Not just fried but fried and cooked in a pepper/tomato sauce I loved it. My burger patty was mean and big served with beef tomato and crisp lettuce. The steak was also cooked to temperature and tasted delicious. Served with a choice of sauce, mushrooms, slow roasted tomatoes and a side salad. I’ve told my family and friends how much I enjoyed this meal. I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it. Perfect for a couple/a special occasion. I can’t wait to go again with my husband. Thank you The Olive House! What a fantastic addition to Sheffield!

We tried out this new local restaurant and were pleased to enjoy such a lovely meal in relaxed surroundings. It was a birthday celebration and we had the three course menu. Excellent value. Good sized starters of hummus and calamari.Steak superb with lovely sides including mushroom, cherry tomatoes and asparagus. Chicken shish was lovely, tender and flavorsome with rice and salad. We just found room for baklava , great taste and lovely presentation with piped birthday message on plate. Nice to know that we have somewhere so nice that we can walk to with friendly service.

This is a lovely restaurant, food, service and ambience so good. I would gladly recommend , and will most certainly visit again.

Went with my mum, dad and wife for mums 81st birtday lunch. The place is newly open and the service was welcoming and food very good for the lunch menu. Cant wait to go back for dinner and the evening Turkish menu. Highly recommended.

Visited on a cold Tuesday evening, and received a warm welcome. The service was excellent and the food superb. The lamb shish was particularly good, and all at a reasonable price as part of the ‘Festive menu’. It only opened last week and the decor is fresh and clean. Do go now as it will become very popular as word gets around about the quality of the food.

Three of us went for lunch on the restaurant’s second day of opening. Interior decor is very nice and the staff friendly. The food was excellent, I had a chicken peri peri wrap with chips and salad and it was perfect. My friends had a lamb wrap and a pasta dish, both of them praised their choice. Overall, good quality food at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

Myself my husband and friends visited Olive House on their second day of opening for dinner. Nice fresh decor, friendly staff and great food. We shared 4 starters, Garlic mushrooms, Spicy sausage, Meatballs and Honey glazed goats cheese. All very tasty 😋 Followed by Lamb Shish (stunning lamb), Chicken shish and Sea bass. Again all tasty and nicely prepared. If I had one small complaint the salad was a little boring with the mains. I had lemon tart for dessert, my husband had baklava and our friends had the chocolate cake. The cake was a huge slice! During December they are only offering the 3 course festive menu from 4.30pm at £30.00pp. Totally worth it and lots to choose from. We’ll definitely be visiting again.
