Always enjoy visiting this little gem at foot of the Mourne mountains. Food always great and you always have warm welcome.

In our experience, this is a nice place to enjoy lunch. We found the food tasty and reasonably priced whilst the staff were pleasant.

This is a great place for breakfast you can get just about anything you want from healthy delicious to full ulster you can adjust as you wish great coffee and cakes/traybakes croissants etc

Lovely fresh fisherman's pie. My carrot cake tasted more like treacle cake though. It looked good but the icing was an odd taste too. I'll have a rhubarb scone next time!

My wife and I attended the retro wine tasting yesterday evening. I can honestly say it was alot better than i anticipated as our knowledge of wine is minimal. The info given by the kind lady was very interesting and the wine served with each course complimented the food perfectly. The food was sublime from start to finish as were all the staff. We have already recommended it to family and friends and urge everybody near and far to contact or call in and get booked in for the next night. The people you'll meet on the night are brilliant. It was a great laugh from start to finish. Well done.

Stopped by for the tea for two. Mediocre pastries and sandwiches, not much distance between the tables, we felt squashed in a corner, the staff were wonderful.

This restaurant is not only a feast for the hungry ” great portions “ but also for the eyes lots of quirky fitting in restaurant but you have to check out the washroom what a laugh we got. Not going to do a spoiler check out the restaurant for great food along with the washroom for a good Lol . Thanks Olives Bazaar.👍

Lovely little cafe. Food excellent and the service was great

It's certainly very different from your normal Coffee shop but they have a great menu and great for people who are Vegans and Vegetarians. They also do Gluten Free Foods and have a good children's menu. Very quick service and some of their products are available to purchase. Each table is cleaned and disinfected before customers are allowed to sit down. They also have a great Range of Scones Traybakes Cakes and Buns. Our only disappointment was that they don't serve Decaffeinated Earl Grey Tea. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Newcastle.

I go here everyday when Im home, literally! Most times take away as Ive to keep going, but also enjoy eating in when I can. Love the food...esp fishcakes, soups and quiches. Really delicious :-) And very friendly staff

Awesome coffee shop, never disappoints (except when it's packed and can't get in? There are a lot of fantastic coffee shops around the Mournes, this is my favourite.👍

Quirky and unique. Visited this fabulous place around 15 times over last 3 years. Always welcoming and efficient. Great array of home made snacks, traybakes and yummy meals. Breakfasts and lunch particularly wholesome and healthy. The coffee is so good and great range of other drinks. Staff are always so helpful. Good value for money and an example of excellent for others to follow.

Sorry to say this Didn't meet our expectations, The Place was busy but not enough care or attention was levelled at us were we were seated ,Kitchen porter passing threw the main restaurant with Rubbish didn't help, Dainty tea cups and TeaCosy Wrapped Teapots aren't much use when the tea is lukewarm , my partner had the smoked salmon breakfast which tasted off and the presentation was Bleak looking, cherry tomatos are ok in a salad not for Breakfast ,Filling hot water bottles from the service tap is very unhygienic considering we are still watchfull of COVID, We won't be Back

Food very bland had to ask for ballymaloe to give some flavour. Was also look warm. Cappacino was not hot either. Sorry but won't be back

Olive Bizarre is a fantastic place to visit. It is clean, a great view and the food is exceptional. However today I asked for a dressing on my salad with no pines in it, and instead it came with a pine dressing but drenched in salad and the tartlet. Very dissapointing. I was given an appology and offered a refund which was good of them.

Prices for the same items each time go from £7 to £10.

Called in on Saturday 11th February 2023 for their afternoon tea. Service was quick and the staff friendly and helpful. The food arrived and it was terrific. Sandwiches were delicious and fantastic scones, still warm when brought to us. The tray bakes again were delicious coupled with lovely tea it was a great day out. Would recommend here to anyone

My wife and I called for afternoon tea. Polite, friendly service. We had to wait a few minutes before our table was ready. When the food came, wow. Great selection of desserts with our meal. Sandwiches were delicious and the scones were still warm arriving. The tray bake selection was great. Service quick and cheerful and price unbelievable. £29 between us, fantastic value

We've been here recently with my partner for brunch and we've been served super quick with delicious soup of day and fresh sandwiches in a busy period. Not much else to say as it looks like they're good at what what they're doing. We'll go again sure if we're in the area.

Lovely little and very busy Cafe, the food is good and home made. Have eaten there a few times and always comes up trump's. On a good day the view over the sea is beautiful. Ideal for a coffee and tray bake or a good full blown lunch at reasonable prices. 👌

Quirky springs to mind especially the loo! Menu good, food delicious apart from our last visit when the tray bakes were very dry and unappetising.

Went along for lunch with high expectations and came away delighted. Food was amazing, menu was very expansive and the staff were extremely professional and organised. Cannot highly recommend this hidden gem enough.

Tasty food with a pretty setting. Had the breakfast which was reasonably priced and flavoursome. Got a coconut Cappuccino which was one of the best coffees I have ever had.

I was introduced to this wee gem a few months ago. Love the food, very relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Ohhh and remember to visit the WC when you go. Definitely recommend when in Newcastle.

Had a great lunch here at a good price - lovely homemade roasted butterbean, garlic and potato soup and toasted cheese and relish sandwich. Very friendly staff and an unusually interesting (and v clean) customer loo! Highly recommended.

We had a lovely lunch here sitting outside on the benches (had dogs with us). Brilliant menu catering for all the usual dietary requirements. Friendly and efficient staff. Worth a visit en route to Bloody Bridge and Annalong!

Wine tasting dinners work really well. Felicia’s knowledge of what’s going on is just terrific. Highly recommend this, it ‘a a great meal and you don’t have to chose a thing.

Lovely place with a beautiful view. I sat outside with my dog and the friendly staff took my order and brought it out to me. I had coffee and delicious porridge with stewed rhubarb. Dog bowls filled with water around the seating area were a nice touch.

Visited with my two young children and really enjoyed ourselves, I was looked after by the staff and they made sure we had everything we needed. The food came quickly and was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again!

Decent enough food but takeaway food can tend to be a bit below par on temperature. Either not warm enough for some things or things like sausage rolls heated to the point the ends have gone rock hard. Still lovely tasting but these things could be improved. Best brownies I've had though 👌

We were staying in newcastle for a few days and this cafe came highly recommended. The cafe was busy on our first visit but we were seated relatively quickly and given menus. We ordered an afternoon tea for two, a baked potato, and a Mediterranean vegetable tart, with tea and coffee that was meant to come as part of the afternoon tea. My main issues with this cafe is the attention to detail, and the overall service. We had to wait quite a long time for our food to arrive, but given the fact the cafe was busy when we first arrived, we didn't mind the initial wait. However, the tea and coffee was brought over as soon as our order was placed, and so by the time the food arrived we had already drunk our beverages and the remaining tea in the pot went cold. There were no free top ups as is the norm with afternoon tea in most establisments, and no apology for the delay. Furthermore, the teapot was chipped, but as it was at the top of the pot and not on the spout, I let it pass. When the food eventually came out, the baked potato was missing. We waited another 10 minutes before agreeing that the kitchen had probably forgotten to make it. I brought this to the attention of a member of staff who said she'll check if it had been forgotten, or if it was just taking longer. We were then told that the cook had not read the docket properly and had therefore missed the item. I asked to please just cancel the item and to remove the item from our bill. We were not willing to wait longer for the food, as it's not fun eating on your own when everyone else at the table has finished eating! We were asked if we would like anything else instead, and we said just another coffee - which I had assumed would be complementary considering the situation but it wasn't, we were charged for it. To add insult to injury they also forgot to make the coffee and after 20 minutes waiting I had to walk over to the till and ask where it was. The coffee was still not complementary, and there was still no apology! By this stage the cafe had calmed down, and many tables had left. We chose to give the cafe a second chance, and went the next day for breakfast. Once again I was brought yet another chipped teapot, but this was worse than the day before as it was badly chipped, cracked and blackened at the spout. I had to ask to have it changed. The food took an age to arrive, which was strange as the potato cakes were already pre-made in the fridge counter on display. We therefore had plenty of time to observe our surroundings, during which we noticed that none of the laminated menus were cleaned down after customers placed their orders. They were simply put back onto the stand at the front of the entrance next to the covid tracking sign in sheet, which was quite ironic! Better hygiene should be maintained during a pandemic. And we also noticed a customer complain that the milk she poured into her Americano tasted off, and wanted a fresh coffee. The food itself - afternoon tea quite boring. Squirty cream used which was disappointing, and by the time the food arrived it had "deflated" into a sad mess. The sweet selection was poor considering they had much more exciting options on display on the counter. We were given, 2 cupcakes, 2 slices of fruit cake, a brownie and a fifteen with white chocolate on top. Very basic for £29 The sandwiches were not finger sandwiches, just cut in half like school packed lunches. The breakfast was OK. Poached eggs were lovely, but the pre-prepared and reheated potato cakes were not. The cheesy beans and mushrooms on crusty toast was indecipherable. The mushrooms were so overcooked they were hard to distinguish what type they were, and they were oddly mixed through the beans which left the "crusty" toast as soggy as anything. The bagel with cream cheese and bacon was full of fatty bacon with no flavour. We ate because we were famished! Having worked in tea rooms, cafes, and coffee shops all my life, both serving, and also in the kitchen cooking and baking the food, I can honestly say that this cafe needs improvement. I think it should decide whether it is a cafe that focuses on hot food, and therefore should have more kitchen staff to cook the extensive food menu to order and cut down on customers waiting time, or just be a glorified coffee shop that sells easy to heat deli counter foods, as well as cakes etc. Staff should be trained better on how to handle complaints, or general problems that arise. In my experience, a forgotten coffee would have been apologised for, and either given complementary or a fully stamped loyalty card given to the customer so they can come back and get a free coffee next time. It's a way to get customers to come back and give us another opportunity to get the service right. An entirely forgotten food order would never have happened, and if in the unlikely event it did, me or my colleagues would have apologised profusely and provided the customer with a complementary gesture by way of saying sorry. Chipped, cracked and generally worn crockery and teapots would never be put into use, and a customer should not have to ask for it to be changed. Overall, long waits, multiple forgotten orders, poor health and hygiene, and poor customer service means I would not recommend this place until it has had a complete overhaul, and then I might try it again as it has potential to be good.

Love the healthy breakfast here and the excellent coffee. The porridge is as spectacular as the view of Dundrum bay. I call it #porridge art. Staff are polite, friendly and smiling. Prices very reasonable.

Hidden gem. Have been here twice now and both visits were really very pleasant with tasty food. It’s a place for food or just a coffee and scone. The inside is tastefuly decorated and there is some outside seating. It is normally easy to get parked. Would strongly recommend.

I was there 11th July with my elderly mother staff were gathered in groups chatting and took ages to serve us we w the soup and chicken . Cranberry and stuffing sandwich served with fresh crusty bread , it was described as served with crisps...
