Ocean diner clacton pier in Tendring

The food at the Ocean diner is filling, large and tasteful. In a whole it complimented for Clacton Piers poor experience. It is basic food but at least it is fresh and filling!

Nice portion of fish and chips, very friendly staff and good service. Keep up the good work and see you soon.

Very old fashioned cafe with overwhelming prices not a place to go if you don’t have to or are on a budget

It is a cafe on the Pier..and that is it..we stopped for a drink and snack..whilst little ones playing on pier..from comments we heard..were glad did not have a meal..staff could do with smiling lessons

Ocean diner has good food. Staff friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable. We wanted bacon egg and sausage hot tea. All good.

We came here on the Air Show Thursday evening before the twilight flights and were pleasantly surprised not only to get a table but also at the friendliness of the staff and more importantly the quality and quantity of the food. The women had scampi and chips while I had the hot burger and my mate had the monterey jack burger. Both burgers were nice and juicy and full of filling, plenty of scampi for the women and loads of chips for all of us. We weren't expecting this for a Pier cafe.

Our orders got mixed up so we politely asked for the meal to be rectified as I don’t like bacon so asked for sausage and egg, and got sausage and bacon. The chef then came out and flat out called us liers saying we asked for sausage and bacon. Then when my food came back out it was cold where it had just been left to sit there and there was still a chunk of bacon in the baguette. I work in customer service and understand that sometimes there are mix ups but whether this chef knew he was wrong or genuinely believed we asked for bacon he certainly shouldn’t have came out to call us liars and be rude. Completely disgusted.

Great breakfast, Asked for the bacon to be well done and it came out perfect (all crispy) chips were nicely cooked to. Staff friendly and the service was quick. 10/10

We popped in here for a spot of lunch whilst on a large group family day out. It's a lovely large, clean and bright space, with pleasant staff and a huge an varied menu, serving snacks, full dinners, cakes, drinks etc. Would definitely recommend it. Our only complaint would be that the menu claims to serve home-made coleslaw - it isn't homemade!

We were in a family group on Clacton Pier and us oldies wanted a cup of tea. So we entered the Ocean Diner. It was a lovely little cafe with pretty seaside ornaments around the walls. There were lovely seaside pictures adorning the walls too. The tablecloths had nice shell pictures on them. It was a bit draughty sitting in the cafe as the door was open and it gets quite windy on the pier. We were given nice large mugs of piping hot tea which warmed us up. I just wish I had taken some photos while we were inside the cafe.We will return here in the near future.

Only came in for a coffee and had to stay for one more they were that nice and the Byron bay cookies are to die for 😍

A nice family place to go and the pier is nicely layed out and lots of things to do. Nice surroundings and also got a dog beach close by

Brilliant little seaside cafe with very polite staff would definitely come back here it's lovely and try the coffeee!!!!! It's beautiful

Tomamos un almuerzo fabuloso con mi familia, con 3 hijos comer fuera es siempre difícil de complacer a todo el mundo. Gran elección de menús, servicio amable y servicial y la comida era fabuloso! Mi pescado y patatas fritas fue una enorme porción he luchado hasta el final! Una gran relación calidad-precio, esperamos volver, ah y dar el helado intentarlo, ¡es increíble! Tenemos que volver, así que puede probar otros sabores!

Nuestra familia de 4 llegamos al muelle y clacton estaba buscando algo para comer antes de mis hijos fueron en los paseos. Llegamos al otro lado del océano diner que estaba situado directamente enfrente del salto de techno. El restaurante ofrecía muchas comidas apetecibles y una gran variedad de postres. Mis dos hijos y nuggets eligió spag bol y patatas del menú para niños y estaban muy contentos. Tanto mi marido y yo pedimos bacalao, patatas fritas y guisantes blandos y una vez más, estuvimos muy contentos! Después de que habíamos terminado nuestras comidas disfrutamos de una taza de café mientras los niños precioso fuimos en los paseos. Gran tamaño de la porción de la comida, la comida llegó rápidamente, aunque el lugar estaba relativamente lleno y el personal era atento y amable. Sin duda visitar durante vacaciones de medio a largo plazo:)

We were expecting nothing..so we're pleased..food was of a good standard..very reasonably priced..we only came in because kids were busy at the funfair..glad we did ..it was a lot better than expected.

Really enjoyed our lunch here today. Was surprised how cheap it is considering it's location. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.

Sólo nos detuvimos aquí para un bocado rápido mientras los niños estaban jugando en el recinto ferial y no te gustan las hamburguesas en oferta.

Last minute visit as no fish & chip restaurant open on the seafront.Open till 9pm. Welcoming service, good value. Kids made welcome. Generous portions. Excellent cod & chips.

Had a meal here. Simple, ham, egg and chips with a coffee. I thought it was rather expensive as I have had the same at other cafes on the seafront for about 30% less. Meals was ok apart from the eggs which were a bit overdone and hard. Service was very friendly. Order at the counter and then they bring to your table.

Having been to the pier a number times and this was the first time eating in this cafe. I wasn't disappointed the food was good value for money.

It was a busy day and still the service was lovely, was nice to sit in and have a decent cup of coffee! Was even better when one of the staff said that she would bring it over for me! Brilliant staff and service with a smile. We didn't eat there but we see food come out which looked delicious defiantly will be going there again when me and my husband visit Clacton pier again very soon!

We popped in here on a wet Bank Holiday Monday after venturing on the pier. I imagine that this would be busy on a sunny day, but given the weather, it was just our party and a scattering of others brave enough to walk there. The tea and the coffee were well made - the tea even coming in a pot which managed 2 cups, so even better value. Such a shame as it would have been pleasant sitting there enjoying lunch and the view from the end of the pier.

Outstanding, pleasant staff all very cheerful and very respectful! Lovely, hot, fresh food and was lovely to sit in for a decent cuppa! Kids enjoyed the icecream after their lunches (defiantly recommend the knickerbocker glory) Beautiful place to go when visiting the pier at clacton! Will defiantly be one of my places to go again with the family this summer!

On a very busy Clacton festival day I was glad to of received such good service all round, I visited with my family and all 7 of us were very pleased with all meals which were all good value for money. Especially enjoyed the ocean diner burger and cod chips and mushy peas. All finished off with a fresh slice of Victoria sponge, would defiantly recommend!

Don't order the fish it's the same as you get in Iceland 5 pieces for £2. Frozen chips, tin peas. Very Poor. Don't order the kids hot dog. It's a sausage in a bun. Very very expensive for very very poor food. Rude staff.

Spotlessly clean typical seaside cafe right on the end of the pier. All food freshly prepared, and piping hot! (lovely crisp chips) Daily specials looked very appetising. Staff very pleasant and helpful re. allergies, and my mobility scooter. I unfortunately lost my balance and fell, and they were all very helpful and kind.

This a a lovely place to stop and eat, before or after your visit to the Pier. Nice staff and good menu, outside seating too, fresh and bracing right next to the beach,

Service was very good and the food was ok too. We did find it very pricey for what it was though, probably why the place was almost empty

The food was beyond brilliant and it was great to eat alongside all the lovely scenery, the staff were very polite and welcoming would defiantly recommend to anyone on a day trip to Clacton Pier, was all finished off with a perfect coffee and Knickerbocker Glory!
