Ocean Blue Fish Bar in Melton

Ordered for my husbands birthday and arrived 50 minutes late! I can understand it’s a Friday and they are busy but when you order at 5.50pm for a 7.00 delivery it’s very disappointing!!!

Just had takeaway and fish overcooked, or cooked more than once. Battered sausage with no crisp to It, and curry came in a solid form. Wasn’t able to complain via Uber due to not accepting the photo provided. Very expensive and will not be returning.

It was hot so that was a start, the halloumi burger wasn’t great at all, salad was brown, bun it’s self was hard, chips and cheese was an okay standard but I’ve had better, the halloumi fritter was the only decent thing. Don’t think I’ll order again.

Last few times have been here chips are always undercooked.

Have been trying to order for the last hour being told it will send me an authorisation code but doesn't what's the point of having a Web site when you can't get an order though have given up will go and fetch from somewhere else

Worst chip shop ever was over 30 mins over the delivery time. When rang the shop said was a mix up with orders and didn’t know what to do and would send our order straight away we was still waiting 30 mins after that phone call and still no delivery. Recommend avoiding this chippy

Chicken not fresh at all, smelling really bad

My favourite chip shop in Melton Mowbray however they never put salt & vinegar on the chips, I've asked the past 3 times I've ordered and not once has my food had it on unfortunately. Fab other than that! Delivery is always speedy too

Sadly last delivery, meal was missing the burger, emailed and text but no response. Shame..normally v.good Redeemed themselves!! Delivery tonight was fast. Food hot and delicious with a complete order this time. Happy customer again ! Now 5 star !

This place is getting worse today had a delivery and everything was cold fish cake was sour and sloppy the batter was like rubber the mushy peas had too much bicarbonate of soda in them chicken meat was horrible the taste of the chicken meat was sour as well I have no idea why I get a delivery from this place but I won’t be doing so in the future don’t deserve any stars but had to give one as it’s expected

Food took 90 minutes to arrive and was cold - needed heating up before eating. The delivery lady was lovely and apologised for being so busy, which is fine. The vegan samosas were packaged loose with the meat sausage which was disappointing for the vegan who decided against eating them in the end.

Really really disappointed. Haven’t had ocean blue for ages, sons birthday he wanted it. They must of changed the kebab meat as it was spicy! Not nice at all. Can’t fault anything else though

You were doing too well with our past orders, we thought our luck would run out. Tonight it did run out. Food was cold, dry and only fit for the bin! £17 for dry overcooked chicken, soggy battered sausage and cold dry chips plus watery mushy peas. We won’t be back.

the fish was dryer than a nuns axe wound. and the batter was soggy on sausages and fish. shame as use to be best chippy in town

Order was warm but was missing the sauces on my kebab meat which was mint mayo and on the doner kebab which came separated a box of salad a box of kebab meat and chips which was suppose to be sweet chilli sauce this is the second time it's been missing items

spectacular chippy! cant rate all of the staff here enough. i've been here many times and ive never been disappointed. sturdy boxes too, compliments to whoever folds those!!!! keeps my kebabs warm for ages!!

I had an issue with the kebab that was delivered.....it was quite cold, but on reflection it could have been that I did not ask them to separate the salad from the kebab....I contacted them and delivered a new kebab within 20 min....no hassle....the food from here is excellent and the attitude towards the customer is excellent. OMG! Great food, probably the best takeaway food I've eaten in a long time. The portion sizes are unbelievable. The only down size with my Chicken Kebab was not enough salad 🙈

You work through just eat to get your custom, then you don’t give the discount which is apparently awarded to us , I feel done and if you don’t like giving discount through just eat then you shouldn’t do it 🤬

Food this time was average, curry sauce seems to always be different it was stodgy & very think and didn’t taste good at all. Fish was quite dry & chips a bit dense. Not as good as previous orders unfortunately. portion sizes are great tho.

The food arrived half hour early and was piping hot. However, the half pound cheese burger was supposed to come with salad and all that it had was a tiny amount of onion, half slice cucumber, half slice of tomato and some scabby wilted lettuce….hardly a salad with your burger. My vegetable samosas had been either reheated or refried making the pastry very hard and dry. The chips were lovely though! I don’t normally have any issues from ordering from Ocean Blue but today I was let down unfortunately

Slightly late, but not an issue (it was a Friday night) All food that we ordered arrived hot and was delicious, as usual.

We said asap and it said delivery at 8.35… it came at 7.35! Super speedy and great quality!

Have you changed your Donner Meat? Order from you a lot and Donner Meat is usually good. However today it tasted vile. Had 3 - 4 bites and went in the bin. Not sure if you’ve changed the meat or it was off but was truly disgusting. Tasted like those tinned sausages.

Missing curry sauce and Cod was overcooked and like rubber but rest of order was good

It was hot, well wrapped, tasty and well presented. The delivery drive was courteous, clean and obliging.

I like going there as get more smiles than Nicko's! Bought 2 fish and chip dinners for £12 only upset because I remember 6 pennyworth of chips and hot dogs for 1/6d

I only went here as the hotel doesn't serve food on Sundays. I regret it. Ordered a Cod and Chips. The fish was overcooked, chewy and dry. Awful. Chips were pretty good. But doesn't make up for the fish.

Fish and chips fantastic, delivered to eyekettleby lakes no problem. Will use again on our next vist.

I have just had cod and my son had battered sausage, both were very much over cooked. My fish on the inside was also dry. I only ate half of it. Delivery was quick but i would rather have waited longer for something more decent.

Don't bother ordering ahead online as when you get there you'll have to wait in a long queue for your order anyway. People who were ordering their food on the spot were served way before me even though I recieved a message saying my food would be ready in 50 minutes. 50 minutes of waiting and when I got there I had to wait a further 20 minutes to actually get my order. A guy who ordered on the spot just before me got his big order in under 10 minutes. I mentioned this to the young man behind the counter and all he said was "I don't know what to say" and shrugged. Dont advertise ordering online/collection if you are going to make customers wait in the normal queue anyway. Food was great though.

They accepted the order for delivery. Then got a phone call saying they can't delivery to hose as the delivery driver couldn't be bothered and asked me to come and collect instead. Shocking customer service. Definitely wouldn't recommend

Partner ordered Cod & Chips and Pie, got home to find a box of chips only and a pie separately. How do you forget to put the cod in a cod and chips in a Fish and Chip shop.

Delivery time always good. Ordered 2x cone chips & haddock , cod with curry sauce. All was good as expected except curry sauce . Was very sweet and lacked flavour , it has definitely changed from previous ordered but not for the better :(

Unable to get in with my wheelchair 🦼 staff continued to serve others able bodied customers ahead of me, until I shouted to be served even though they knew I was waiting at the door! Once the did serve me. They were helpful and brought the card machine to me. The fish and chip special was hot, tasty and delicious 😋. Don’t overlook your disabled customers who can not get onto the shop due to the step.

Ended up having to wait just over 2 hours, I think they were waiting to see how many other orders they got for the campsite which was naughty as you are each charged a £5 delivery charge. Luckily the food was actually surprisingly good, but wouldn’t order again if we ever went back that way.
