Love the coffee. Love how they see a social responsibility behind it. Love Obadiah. I hope to see another shop opening soon, since the pop-up in Grassmaret has closed in April. But thankfully, the Obadiah roast is available in other coffee shops in Edinburgh!

Great coffee, nice and chilled atmosphere. Simplistic decor. Such a refreshing change from bland chains such as Costa and Starbucks. Like it! :)

Lovely Australian chap making great coffee: great discovery, and another addition to the already great Edinburgh gourmet coffee scene. To excellent coffee this place adds a relaxed atmosphere of cushions, comfy sofas, tempting croissant. My pockets are not happy, but my tastebuds rule :-)

A coffee shop that really knows their coffee and prices fairly. Great ambience, music was atmospheric enough, server was very polite and knowledgable. Expect to wait for your coffee, but it's well worth it.

Coffee done properly by guys who know what they are doing. Everyone is really friendly and happy to chat. Excellent quality which isn't over priced despite being on the Grassmarket. The latte art was a lovely touch. I will be back.

I stopped into Obadiah on a whim to grab a cup of coffee in a 3pm slump one day and found it to be the most wonderful Latte I've had in the city. The barista took his time, making sure that the coffee was brewing correctly and that it tasted as good as it could before he made my coffee- Quality assurance at it's finest. He then crafted a beautifully rich and smooth coffee and served it to me with a smile. As a local foodie, I will definitely be back.

I'm not actually a coffee drinker - don't like it much at all - but after having coffee at Obadiah I like it VERY much! They also happen to have the greatest hot chocolates known to man. The vibe is very relaxed and the atmosphere is so homely! I wish I could spend all of my time here - I definitely would! Love this place so much!

Perfect place to stop by and relax. One cup wasn't enough so ordered a second one. You won't be disappointed with the coffee served.

We wandered by this recently-opened cafe by chance, and were curious to find out more. The shop is furnished simply and comfortably with a mix of repurposed school desks and stools and some comfortable, mid-century style chairs. The menu is equally simple - just excellent, intelligently-chosen coffee and some pastries. It was interesting that the owners had been involved in sourcing and roasting speciality coffee for some time, and that this is a new venture. It has certainly garnered some fans already with a number of 'locals' calling during our visit.

I would give 4* but the frangipane I had wasn't... It was a soft sponge. Also, a personal gripe is that I like a handle on my mug for coffee.
