All I can say is absolutely terrible customer service won’t be eating there again

So I ordered online and had the food come missing literally everything expect sauce 😂 the rude horrendous woman on the phone was pretending she couldn’t hear us 😂 even tho we called on different phones and she would answer normally till we said about the food 😂 an absolute joke xoxo

Always fresh, tasty and plenty. If we are around, we head straight to this place to have fish and chips (we live 160miles away).

Tried this place for the first time on a Tuesday evening as our usual was closed. Delivery was on time, and everything was delicious (rissole, fishcake, fish bites, chips), not over greasy, cooked just right, carefully packaged, I think we have a new usual.

Food was lovely , staff was very unprofessional, shouting and rude. Won’t be visiting again unfortunately. Maybe 1st Visit was on a bad day but still language wasn’t great. 🫣

Always have a takeaway so really can't comment on atmosphere. The food is excellent

Ordered food via just eat at 7.15pm was told food would be delivered by 7.45pm and we are still waiting at 22.08! The time of delivery just keeps being extended, it is now saying 22.10! and the driver hasn’t moved on the app for the last hour and still we wait! all whilst the shop shut at 9.00pm!! it’s an absolute joke, we have have now ordered and eaten from KFC and oh my cod will blame just eat taking no ownership at all saying they can’t help the delivery service yet they keep using the service and they kept changing our delivery status and are happy to have taken my money You have said you can’t help if they don’t send a driver but according to the app a driver got the order and it was being delivered from 8.30?? It’s now 8.45 Saturday morning and it definitely hasn’t been delivered. Why keep using a service that keeps doing this to you, I know I’m not the first or won’t be the last to have this happen there are loads of the same complaints, sadly due to this I won’t be ordering food again and it’s a shame as when I’ve had food previously it was delicious

I went about a month ago, food was decent but the staff were really polite. Haha joking, we went there at about 6pm roughly when it was heavily raining, no one else inside the store, (they don’t have tables or any seats) we asked if we could sit for a minute and the response was “no it’s a takeaway not an eat in!”. There weren’t any other people inside now apart from me and my girlfriend and they were impatient when I was trying to make my mind up to order. Wouldn’t spend another penny but instead Tino’s is around the corner. Spend your money there, staff are good and food is cheaper.

My sausage wasn’t cooked or the batter and gravy wasn’t nice, normally amazing here 🙃

The food was fantastic, the two pieces of fish ordered were absolutely massive. Staff friendly with my son. Only down side is they didn't put my sons food in the bag and we didn't noticed until back home. Telephone not receiving calls to sort it out

A really fanatic chippy located in Bridgend. We travel from Maesteg to go here as we find it’s the best money for value and extremely tasty. The fish is extremely good and white how I like it. Only downside is they don’t provide plastic forks but that’s not their fault due to the new ban on single plastic use for businesses.

Fish is excellent, cooked fresh and usually huge. Chips are decent, as are the mushy peas and curry sauce. Can't go wrong really

We ordered jumbo sausage chips and 3 fish bites, costing £10.45. It was dismal, the battery on the fish was swimming in oil, I've never seen a small portion of chips and they were soggy and the sausage looked like it had been refried cause it was old and stale. Don't waste your mkney

First time ordering on just eat food turned up wrong order, told driver wasn't mine , rung shop they blamed driver taking wrong order, they spoke to driver and confirmed he would go back and collect original order, after waiting over an hr rung shop to be told driver refused to deliver food and to get refund from just eat no apology contacted just eat said can't refund as no photo to prove what I ordered, not happy £45.00 out of pocket no way to run a business take your money but don't give food

Ordered vegetable cake was a fish cake so couldn’t eat it. Chips cold mushy peas passable. I’ll give it a miss

Very rude member of staff on Saturday night who was making one mistake after another, attitude given, didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing. My food was not good as a result, soggy chips and batter was soft on fish. Was really looking forward to my food after a day at work but was very disappointed in service and food.

As Monty Python said “that piece of Halibut was good enough for Jehovah!” I’ve got to say, the quality of the fish in particular is excellent. The batter is extremely crisp, even by the time you get it home. Most chippies, the batter is soggy when you get it back. The place is spotless!! You can see through to that back and it’s pristine and being constantly wiped down. Looking at the lunch deals they extremely well priced, as is all the other food. Girls serving are welcoming an friendly. All in all it’s an great experience

Called first time yesterday, had fish and chips which were delicious I must say. My husband had a riseole well if you can call it that over cooked brown/black utterly unederble. I have taken photos and next time I go will show them but it hasn't put me off

I live opposite. EPIC CHIPPY!!!! -- Well deserved 2023 JUST EAT award. Best chips I have ever had. I am 47 years old. The whole menu is wicked and awesome price points for students and lunchtime specials. Fish is beyond amazing.

I had a large fish and chips with lemon tartare and salt here today my first in a long time and overall.... which means the price,amount of food ( the fish was enormous ) the way it was cooked and looked,the price ( fantastic ).... I could not fault it. Add to this the staff , the young lady who served me was happy, helpful and attentive and the shop was lovely and clean. They definitely deserve the major award they just received. CONGRATULATIONS 😃🌟

Bit of a record. Back again and yet again no attempt at a greeting when walking in. Had my order checked twice (how difficult is it to remember no salt and vinegar) while the person I came with was ignored for about 5 mins before he was served. We were at the head of the queue. Three online people served while we were ignored. Such a shame as the food is great Update - the order when I got it home was incorrect.

Good fish, good chips. BUT, the slowness in serving is the worst I've ever experienced in my 73 years. Only about 7 or 8 in front of us in the queue, and we were there 25 minutes. Looks to me like they cook only what's been ordered, so you wait to order, then wait for it to be cooked. Three staff, all rushing about like mad - there's a huge need there for someone to sort out their system. I'm not going back. Then I get this reply, below. NOT SO, PEOPLE. Even if we'd read signs on the walls and gone to the front to order, we'd still have been an age, same as everyone else there. Nobody got out in less than 15 mins, and that's slow slow slow.

Didn’t deliver my food still been charged and having trouble getting a refund. On top of that on the just eat website it’s telling me it’s been delivered. Which is a lie. Will not order from there again. 👎

Firstly, no pies available. What good is a chip shop without pies? The order arrived fairly quickly, probably the only good point. Two items were missing from our order so we called the restaurant to see if they could send these out. They said we would have to request a refund of the missing items and place another order - we refused as this would mean paying their large delivery fee again. The large chips were a small at best and were quite soggy. The fish batter and sausage batter were also quite soggy. The food overall was lukewarm and not piping hot like you would expect. We asked for a refund and will not be ordering from here again due to poor food quality and lack of customer service.

Quick service, great amount of food. So much it’s hard to eat it all typical chippy with typical chippy food, fish and chips to sausage in batter, curry sauces and canned drinks available. On the bad side I’ve had chips that have been cooked and left in the heater too long, I’ve had a sausage that wasn’t cooked and then battered so it was disgusting to eat. But I’m putting that down as teething problems for when it opened first. Other than that it has been great and will be my main place to go get chips from

Delicious. No matter what I have its always first class. Not sure why people are having a go about the delivery drivers as they are ubereats or delivered! Staff friendly and will always go the extra mile to get your order right. Fantastic value for money too. Lots of deals from OAPs to students to family meal deals. By far the best fish shop in Bridgend and has won many awards, which are very well deserved in my opinion. I would recommend the fish and chips & the Irish curry is very nice too, especially as chicken curry. Also offer gluten free options & vegetarian options. 5 star

Probably the best chippy in South Wales. Everything cooked from fresh, big portions and amazing quality. What more could you want?

Diabolical service. Lazy, uninterested staff looking at you while you queue while clearly prioritising and packing delivery orders at quarter pace. First time i nearly left, second time i did leave. Pity, cos the fish is halfway good. Ended up at Tino's around the corner as usual

Wrong order delivered, told to take up with uber eats, correct order delivered 75 minutes later inedible and cold. Unprofessional attitude to complaint

They need to find more delivery drivers with a better attitude. Also in the shop they need to learn how to approach customers better. Awful manners.

So tonight ( by chance ) I came across O’ My Cod on Nolton Street, and I just have to say how impressed I was with the service that I received and also the cleanliness of the shop. Freshly cooked food at a very reasonable price, served by very friendly staff in a very clean environment !. What else could you ask for :)

Staff are not welcoming at all, i ordered a collection, when i went in the shop they made eye contact so knew i was there and was left standing there for 5 minutes before they spoke to me. Got home and the batter on the 2 large cod wasnt cooked on the inside, same with the cod bites. Probably won't return here.

Delivery driver was rude. Ordered large bag of chips got a small, the sausage in batter was soggy, the batter smelt and tasted of fish. Took the batter off the and the sausage looked raw didn’t bother. Ordered a bottle of drink a tiny bottle arrived (something you’d give your kids). In notes asked if they could give a pot of ketchup for a pound or two extra didn’t bother. Phoned the shop with no answer and/or rude staff. I ate the chips they nice I suppose

Wrong item delivered, when I phoned I was told sorry their fault they misread the order. All I was offered was a refund or come and get the right item myself!! I paid for delivery of my order and do not drive !! Disgusted and disappointed!
