What a great place to have an afternoon tea. We had the pleasure of being seated upstairs by the front window. Such a variety of yummy sandwiches and homemade savouries, cakes and scones. We couldn't finish it all and we're delighted to take our cakes home with us. I would highly recommend Nutshells-by-the-sea. We will be back! .

My friend took me here for my birthday. We had a table upstairs by the window. Our afternoon tea was the country one which was absolutely amazing. Such lovely staff and excellent service. We will come back.

Today my mum and I decided to try this lovely little coffee shop for our mid morning coffee, and we were so glad we did! We were welcomed by lovely, friendly staff. The coffee was delicious, hot and there was a variety of milks and syrups to choose from - bonus! We have booked to return for afternoon tea next week and really looking forward it 😊

This place is a absolute little gem. I highly recommend it. I've been here twice and both times the food and the service were totally brilliant. I have coeliac disease and totally trust the gluten free food and what's more it was actually delicious. If you are gluten free this place is a must! The cakes were amazing and they made me feel so welcome and normal to be GF. I felt totally cared for by these lovely people. The place is beautiful and we all felt very welcome. We hired the upstairs room for our parents 50th anniversary and my mums 70th birthday, which was lovely. Most of us enjoyed the afternoon tea, which was generous and delicious. Nothing was to much trouble and everyone enjoyed everything.

I hadn’t been here before but went with a friend not knowing if we wanted a brunch or a lunch. As it was, the menu had many suitable options: bagels, sandwiches etc. A proper cafe menu. The prices were incredibly reasonable and I suspect that is why is was pleasantly busy and bustling for a weekday lunchtime. A good range on the menu of proper cafe fare, at good value prices. And it was delicious! Will go again!

Sadly I’ve been yet again disappointed. They have the same menu since opening, no specials, no earlier opening hours for us mums after the school drop off (apparently they don’t want to do breakfasts! We’d just like somewhere to meet for a cuppa and slice of cake) talking of which, limited choice, dry chocolate brownies and Luke warm bitter coffee. Did mention the brownie was dry and I was informed that is how brownie should be? What happened to gooey, sticky brownies?? The shop is now open again, I believe it’s 3rd owner since the people took over from Mr Allards. It’s dull as dishwater, no atmosphere at all. The young man who works in there isn’t the most helpful and is lacking in customer services, doesn’t know a great deal about the branded items he sells. They don’t seem to have as much selection since the spring lockdown, I guess the sellers have moved on? Do yourself a favour and go to Stowmarket or Needham. Far nicer food choice and shopping experience

Lovely friendly atmosphere here. Child and dog friendly. Welcoming, attentive and friendly staff. Good selection of basic cafe food which is good quality, prepared fresh and very reasonably priced. Lovely sausage rolls! Only work on would be speed of ordering; once ordered the food comes in good time.

Me and my partner went in for dinner this evening and wow! The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had the nachos sharer with pulled pork and it was amazing!! We then had the cowboy burger and wow! We are stuffed, the burger was cooked perfectly with delicious cheese and bacon and fries. Would definitely recommend.
