North Taproom: Sovereign Street in Leeds

Nice venue, but would have been nice to see a few of the more unusual beers available.

Just a few beers at the end of a light night out. Good selection but didn't see many 'home' beers on!

Good beers, good location for when you're going back to the station, but not quite ready to go home yet... Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely terrible service, the women serving behind the food counter had an attitude with no customer service skills, let half our table order then stopped taking the order for the rest of our table, the proceeded to give us attitude, when the food came for half our table, it was average at best

Came in relatively early (between 4-5pm) with a friend on Friday, there was plenty of seating free. The plan was to have a pint or two and wait for another person to join us before ordering some of the Bao there. Unfortunately the plans changed into a swift exit. I'd barely drank half a pint before the bar person came over to our seats and asked us to order another drink. I replied politely that we will get another at the bar, making sure my glass was visible to help them understand I wasn't keen on being double parked. Upon that interaction we had bar staff cleaning around us passive aggressively immedietely. We were barely in the place half an hour. As someone that runs a business in Leeds and constantly scouting for places to take staff and clients for drinks I felt embarrassed for my friend, extremely self concious and unwelcome when this happened. So we decided to change plans and not have another drink or buy food there, and tell our third person to meet us somewhere else. We grabbed food at one of the independants in Trinity Kitchen instead and went to some of the more accomodating bars in the city centre. I'll probably give this place one more shot, people have bad days. Be prepared to drop a lot of money here though, the beer is expensive but they have a good range.

Some cracking craft beers + sours + stouts. Food looked really good (didn't have).

Order a beer to wait for a friend. A few choices of stout.

Great venue. I only found it last Monday, enjoyed it so much was back on the Friday. Great selection of beers and the Bao is to die for. Highly recommended.

Typical after work place, or near home place. However worth going for really good snacks: Bao. Personally, I'll back there.😋 🥃🫓 Remember to leave some tips for staff 😊

Food was really good, great choice of drinks. Portion of fries was huge for the price. Good atmosphere. Only dropped a star as the seats were really uncomfortable which was a shame as we would have stayed for another drink.

I didn't try the food, but the beers were excellent and the service was quick and attentive.

What goes better than craft beer, tasty bao, and a friendly staff. The draft menu had excellent options, and everything I had was excellent. If you like a sour, try the Double TFG or TFG. The Neoth IPAs are both great also. Bao mini sandwiches, noodles and more.from Little Bao Boy located inside.

Nice little craft brewery tap. Wide choice of beers. Friendly service. Modern vibe. Tables quite close together so can get quite crowded.

Nice little spot, tasty beer options. Aperol spritz was a bit weak tasting with too much ice. Stick to the beers and try a few of them. Little boa bun delivered once again. This place is duplication of brew york & yuzu combo and if works a treat.

Loved this place!! Loved the bao buns and noodles a great lunchtime deal of 2 bao and fries for £10. Big portion sizes and very yummy!

The North Tap room is just opposite the Travelodge we stay at whilst we are in Leeds. It's usually our last stop of the day. It's well worth a visit.

We heard about this bar from our daughter, who works nearby. The bartender was very helpful and knowledgeable and there is an extensive selection of craft beers, both on tap and in cans. We didn't eat on this occasion, but the food looks and smells amazing and we will be going back to try it. The seating inside is a little hard and uncomfortable and if it had been warmer, we would have sat outside on the benches. We did enjoy our experience and our dog was welcome too, thanks

Awesome beer and table service! Would definitely come again if I were in Leeds, especially as part of a larger group. Apparently the Bao buns are legendary but I didn't get chance to try one.

Lovely place with a great selection of drinks. If you don't like sitting on stools, you may not enjoy it much. Food is served out of a hatch, and is really tasty and quick. When we finished our drinks, one of the staff actually offered to bring drinks to our table which was a nice touch. Great vibe in there, friendly staff.

A brilliant combination of North beers and Little Bao Boy made for a superb lunch stop. To be honest we've been looking forward to this since we did much the same in the Circle Square bar in Manchester.

Good addition to the drinking front. Light and airy space with lots of outside space for warmer weather. UPDATE January 2023 - still going well, a great bar with huge range of decent beers ( mostly the excellent North Brewery own) Very pleasant staff p. Bao Boys food is good. Recommended. Updated August 2023 - Busy craft beer bar, still going well. Attentive and helpful staff. Great range of beers, although sadly no cask beer. Still highly recommended as a city centre bar.

Being right outside the hotel in Swinegate was such a dream, and, especially for a quick drink and a quick bite to eat.

Staff really friendly and polite, got blue light discount in there too. Great atmosphere and my friends mocktail was so tasty.

North Taproom is one of the best restaurant I have visited ever! The ambience is very welcoming and phenomenal, service was exceptionally great way beyond my expectations. Staffs accomodated us one we entered and suggested us a lot of good drinks and food. I would definitely come again.

Big fat five star review for my visit yesterday! I had asked if I could use the bar to film a piece of social media content and I wish I caught the name of the lady working at the time (morning of 25th April) but she was SO lovely, helpful and friendly!!! Nice service but beer prices are a bit steep....if people won't drink at a Wetherspoons...they won't drink here long term...shame!

North Brewery's city centre tap room is a great bar with a wide selection of North Brew and guest beers. Food by Little Bao Boy is great too (2 Bao buns for a tenner) - with about 8 to choose from (half are veggie).
