Normandy Hotel Glasgow in Renfrewshire

Outside of the hotel is a little bleak. All changed inside lovely and inviting, reception. Guy on desk lovely, check in easy, we were early. Room 205, dated but clean, lovely duvets, plenty of pillows. TV not working for the rugby, tv not working with remote, 2mins later, guy from reception up to fix. So she saw Ireland win. Just getting ready fire alarm goes off, all out. The fire marshalls looked a bit lost, went over gave them our names and room number but really should have been going round everyone to find out, who was out and who wasnt. Also staff were still in hotel, I would suggest that more training is required. So everything started later. 2 course meal was nice, ABBA tribute was good, we had a great night and poss return next year. Thanks again everyone. Especially guy on reception and young guy in bar after ABBA.

Went for a boxing event. Was good experience

Very decently priced for its proximity to Glasgow Airport, and offers free parking to overnight guests unlike other local hotels. The rooms are basic but perfectly nice with a comfy bed and good quality TV. Bathroom slightly less so with its awkward layout, but for the price you can't complain too much. The WiFi did not work but there is a good mobile signal. Only negative was a poor nights' sleep due to antisocial behaviour by other guests.

I have stayed before. No issues. Get what you pay for. Stayed one night for the party night and had a great time.

Staff were incredible and room was nicely revamped, only issue is lack of lighting in the bedroom area , we arrived late afternoon and the room was really dark to put make up on and mirror in bathroom was steamed up as hubby was just out of shower

We had events experience in this place, I had visit some nice and lovely staff. This place close to Airport.

Very reasonable hotel. The room was nothing special, but I couldn't argue with how affordable the stay was. I ended up sleeping like a rock especially with how quiet the place was. I decided to get breakfast included and I've got to say it was PHENOMENAL. It was a buffet with a fairly small selection, but everything tasted incredible. All the cooked food was perfectly warm, tasted exceptional and very filling. At first I was just happy to have a place to sleep since most hotels near the airport wouldn't take a 17 year old at 11pm, but I ended up leaving with a amile on my face!

Christmas party night....waited two hours to get first two courses, really bad organisation regards serving food, didn't wait for dessert as we were fed up and left. Veg was hard, meat chewy. Very cold in bedroom, foyer and hall. Disappointed I'm afraid....

Went to a tribute party night with friends, as had done the same last year. The meal was nice, but the night was totally spoiled by the horrendous lights shining in our faces, whenever the Abba tribute started and flashed in our eyes the whole time the tribute was on. We sat shading our eyes with our hands + it spoiled the whole thing, as we could not watch the tribute act. It has seriously put us off coming next year. I hope this can be rectified, before you get any more negative reviews. (We were sitting at table 1, which was to the left of the stage).

Just back from a christmas night and overnight stay .This is our second year in a row as we enjoyed last year's so much we all booked up again. The night itself was good ,breakfast good and staff very helpful but unfortunately this year's rooms were terrible. We were on a different floor this year and the rooms need refurbishment badly . The rooms this year were more expensive and personally I think they should have been less .unfortunately that's why my review is not as good this year which is disappointing. Next time we wouldn't stay .

Good food, good airport transfer service

The only reason i have given the 4 stars was due to a longer than usual wait for pickup (over 30 mins) from the airport as they were using a taxi service instead of their usual airport transfer mini bus because we used their airport stay and park service. Other than that cannot fault the hotel service, reception staff always friendly and helpful, rooms clean, comfortable bed. Will be using them again if we have an early flight from Glasgow airport.

Needs a complete renovation hotel so outdated now caters for hen and tribute nights stayed here before flying to Croatia won't be staying again

Great service. We used the hotel to park and fly from Glasgow airport and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We parked our car at their car park and they provided a free taxi to and from the airport. We will definitely be returning next time we fly from Glasgow

Near airport. Very convenient if you travel by plane.

Stayed at the Normandy for a overnight and stay and park we had a meal that night which was lovely highly recommend the chicken pie all so the fish and chips staff were lovely rooms very clean also the driver that took us to the airport was very pleasant

Hotel located on the outskirts and far from anywhere. The room we had was very small for two people. The dinner they gave us was like all in Scotland, abundant, too much, good and well cooked. Breakfast like everywhere in the UK, pre-made sweets and salty with plenty of fat. The anecdote of the day was that some funny guy smoked in the bathroom and when he opened the door the fire alarm went off, so they had to evacuate us all until the firefighters checked all the facilities. It's a shame they didn't fine the bird.

Didn't stay overnight, but went to a charity boxing night. Fantastic night with meal, good service and friendly staff!

Not very big rooms, but very modern and clean, I like that. Nice interior in the whole hotel. Friendly staff. -1 star for lackluster breakfast and fire alarm going off in the evening forcing everyone to go out. There was no fire.

Very nice, clean hotel. Nice, friendly staff. Great dining room and super great breakfast buffet. Dinner a la carte in the evening. It was extremely tasty. The location is a bit out of the way, but you can take very nice walks in nature

Stayed 28th 29th and left on 30th. fantastic service and great food. easy check in and out. Highly recommend Hotel.

It was an absolutely awful stay and I would NOT recommend. If I could give 0 stars, I would but since I cannot, I will consider what could be worthy of as much of a 1-star rating. Was booked there for 6 days due to conference at the facility so perhaps the relatively good reviews are from people who are coming and going from the airport and aren't staying longer than a few hours overnight. WHAT'S GOOD: 1. Water pressure WHAT'S IRRITATING?: 1. Dingy rooms 2. Paper thin walls (enjoying a lover? We can hear it. Talking on the phone to your family? We can hear it) 3. Very pleasant staff who are agreeable and say they'll send help but don't actually help at all 4. Not enough electric outlets 5. No electric outlets near the bed 6. No mirror near the outlet to style hair when using the hair blower 7. Tub surround is falling off and has sharp edges as evidenced by a deep gash I got on my knee on the first morning. 8. Cleanliness was sub-par 9. 24" climb into the tub/shower only to stand with my head above the curtain rack (didn't want to linger in the bathroom anyway) 10. No hooks in the bathroom 11. One elevator was broken 12. One coffee maker in the breakfast nook was broken WHAT'S DREADFUL?: 1. Restaurant service - it's like they have never had people in the restaurant. Things were not replenished quickly, ran out of cups and glasses frequently. 2. Catering is the absolute worst I've ever had. Our group was ~150 people and consistently they ran out of food. VERY bland food. Served salad without dressing, served chips without ketchup, mayo, vinegar or anything that normal people have with chips 3. Organization and flow for food service.

I'm not one to make a review but I needed to warn people how bad this hotel is. I came into one of the newly "renovated rooms" with a bed that I hadn't sat on which was lob-sided and when asked for it to be fixed all they did was flip the bed and blame it on someone heavy sitting on it which did not fix the situation AT ALL. I went to bed and on the "flesh new sheets" there was a pine needle and hair on the sheets, which I did not get new sheets during my stay. After spending a terrible week here with their cheap food and stained blankets and sheets (not because of me) I had an early morning flight and there was a party happening at the hotel to which I could hear all of the music because of the super paper thin walls that this hotel has. Not to mention I heard people having sex down the hall because of the walls. And when asked if we can be moved or refunded for the inconvenience all I got was excuses. Terrible customer service and a terrible experience. Never come here if you want to enjoy your time.

This is the third time we have used this hotel when flying from Glasgow airport. The staff are always friendly, the location is great for the airport and since our last stay the secure parking has improved. We would definitely use The Normandy Hotel again.

Rooms far too small. Hardly any options to deposit the suitcases. Hardly any space between the wall and the bed. No wardrobe, just four hangers on a rack. However, there is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, as well as a TV. The duvet is far too small, so pulling back and forth during the night is unavoidable. Breakfast and food is OKAY. Staff friendly and helpful. No elevator and not barrier-free.

Just back from my daughters hen night The hotel and the entertainment was superb Bedroom was just what we needed for one night clean and tidy clean bathroom comfortable bed what I can remember of it. Staff were outstanding made us all feel very welcome Breakfast great just what we needed after a heavy night Absolutely brilliant night will definitely stay here again thanks

Can't say much, as went for a party

The room we were initially put in was dirty and small, and the hot water didn’t work. We were moved to a newer room that was much nicer and cleaner, but the hot water still didn’t work. Apparently maintenance had to come fix it but we never got to use it. Overall not the best experience, however Karen at the front desk was absolutely lovely and the rest of the staff were very nice too.

Please employ more staff.as the place is great as well as location....but service is far too slow and chaotic.This will defo boost your income in the long run.Thanks!

This is our second visit to the Normandy hotel. Firstly I'd like to thank the reception manager that sorted out our booking for us and would recommend booking direct with them,not through a third party. as I said this was our second visit as we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. First visit was an 80s night ( absolutely brilliant) and this one was dancing through the decades( absolutely fantastic) the DJ/ compare was absolutely top notch had everyone joining in and dancing even b4 the meal was served. The meal itself was ok ,soup was good potatoes were a bit hard but the chicken as lovely. I'm not a fan of cheesecake so hubby ate that.we are already planning the next time we could visit. Would 100% recommend these tribute nights to anyone who fancies a good night out. thanks again The Normandy Hotel you didn't disappoint.

When you arrive they want to see your credit/debit card, the rooms are terrible tiny no heating the funiture is very dated the breakfast was the only saving grace will never go back
