a wonderful sunny morning, and my 8 yr old granddaughter for company a veryrare opportunity for us to have breakfast together, so at her request we went to the café in the park at Mary Stevens park, we were very early at 8 30 we were the only ones there, l ordered pancakes for my granddaughter plus a drink, and for myself a full English breakfast with coffee, paid the bill then sat outside to wait, within 10 mins our drinks arrived with an additional drink that had not been ordered but charged for, the young lady who served us apologised and immediately gave me a refund my granddaughters breakfast arrived and after 2o mins my breakfast had still not appeared l went inside to enquire why, the young lady who served me looked totally surprised and went into the kitchen to investigate, after a further 5 mins appeared and explained she had made an error in the ordering instead of ordering a full English breakfast had ordered an English tea, as we were the only customers at the time l find this really hard to understand, may l suggest that the menu is amended and the word English removed from the description of menu items or get staff that can take a simple order, l make no apology for my harsh comments but what should have been a wonderful occasion for myself and my granddaughter was ruined by incompetence, thank you for ruining what could have been a lovely morning, l think next time it will be Mc Donald's for us

Sell dog treats and dog ice cream but don't allow dogs inside. Been in previously and seen dogs inside, and there were dogs leaving as we went in. The place needs to make its mind up! Edit following response from the business: and yet, there have been dogs inside every time I've been in, and several reviews mention it's dog friendly. So you're either lying, inconsistent, need to train your staff better, or some combination of all of them. Given that the primary customer base in a park is people with dogs, it seems a strange idea to alienate them. But you do you, clearly you've got enough people willing to pay £9 for a jacket potato that it doesn't matter to you.

Great place to sit and have a coffee and a bite to eat.

April 2025 Dan makes the best Mocha coffees we get anywhere. Thank you Dan. We keep coming back every week because of Dan's coffee, inspite of the high prices. 1 year ago Excellent coffees and cakes still, but very expensive, see photo. 2 years ago Excellent coffees and cakes. We visit every time we come the park. Our favourite coffee is a Moka, mine with a slice of carrot cake.

Good cafe in a nice public park

Way over priced !. If you can help it go to the corner shop nearby if you have too get anything.

Great first visit, good value and plenty to choose from. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. Lovely stop pre or post park walk.

Great food, great service and always nice and clean. We go often and particularly enjoy their breakfasts and cakes! It is very reasonably priced and easily one of the best cafes in the area.

Mostly good coffee. Great for a play in the park and a snack. You can get duck food from here.

Lovely cafe in Mary Stevens park. Lots of outside seating, some of which is undercover. Great coffee and toasties and always a lovely cake selection. Sells duck food for the bird on the pond too.

Short wait to be served as very busy but didn't have to wait long for food and drinks and everything tasted excellent, no wonder there was a queue!

It's a lovely park nice and clean friendly..for walks and kids area ..gardens and greenhouses. Buy something from plants ect ..special coffee mornings on Fridays..

Ordered a American breakfast and a dirty chi both were delicious my wife ordered a grilled halloumi on toast and loved it sat by the grass was great

We only had a drink, there was a large queue but it was a pleasant spot for a break in our walk.

Lovely place to chill with dog after walking round park. Good choice of food and cake!

We visit this cafe alot due to the convenience of being in the park grounds, on week days it's lovely to visit early in the morning and can often find it quieter during this time. At the weekend, it is less enjoyable. Queues are constantly snaking outside and around the seating area. The staff are mostly youngsters and work incredibly hard to keep up with demand. If anything, i would say they could incorporate another coffee stand into the building near the children's play area. There simply isn't enough room for the staff to work any quicker in the current setup and no room to expand without losing seating areas.

A great place to meet and greet, whether for a coffee, brunch lunch or afternoon tea. Staff are excellent and local.

Food delivered to wrong people had to have a refund as didn't have any of our ordered but was given two lovely coffees as compensation.

Nice park beautiful building food very tempting but well overpriced, twice got not fresh cakes person mistaken order : they were bringing tea then cappuccino or late. Another shop where they think customers won't pick up the difference. I don't drink cappuccino cuz don't like it but was given it as late. Discoursing. Every time there the staff was rude: like they make you a favour to be served not that you actually among others keep their business going. Discounting, there are better places to goz won't make that mistake again definitely won't recommend

The drinks are great but often you have to wait a very long time for them to be made, the staff are always friendly enough.

Came in here for a catch up with a friend, I had a dark coconut which is a dark hot choc with coconut milk and a piece of old school cake. We had a good chat. The cafe is warm and friendly. There is seating outside also. The price is reasonable for food and drinks.

Great little cafe tucked away in a largish park. A perfect break from the hustle and bustle if the town centre. Good selection of coffees and hot chocolate with many vegan options available. Friendly staff. Would recommend!

Clean and the staff was very helpful

Used their messenger service on Facebook to ask to see a menu as there was not one that I could find for them. After they had read the message they still didn't respond. Sent again. Read message again and again nothing! Waste of time!!

One of the best in-park coffee shops around. Sat outside and the staff brought our coffee out to us. Lovely drinks in lovely surroundings with good parking and great facilities. Will be visiting again when next in the area

Love coming here to meet friends and have some food, however was not impressed when getting to the till to find out that they are no longer doing the kids meals that we order regularly for our children. I don't think this is right during the holidays.

Atmosphere was lovely, food was nice and very friendly staff, but the prices being charged are a disgrace. £8+ for a sandwich? Do me a favour, will not be returning, they deserve to go out of business at this rate. Met a few people walking round the park who had given up on this cafe

Friendly staff, reasonablypriced & all within beautiful surroundings. Plenty of outdoor seating. Service was a bit on the slow side but this was probably because of the time (around 10am)...Quite crowded inside (even worse when it started raining)....luckily I was purchasing a take-out coffee ☕️

A good place when wanting something light to eat, or a coffee. The food is ok, wouldn't say it is worth the cost though. Service is slow, even when not at their busiest times but there is always a lot of staff. Also noticed when food displays were being restocked the older ones get pushed to the back, instead of the oldest moved towards the front, and the newer, longer dated ones at the back.

Wonderful place with really great staff...

Lovely coffee lounge in the heart of beautiful Victorian park. Great coffee and snacks in a warm atmosphere.

Lovely cafe, however, very busy on weekends! The toasted sandwiches are delicious and the coffee is decent - my only con: they use alpro oat milk which tastes sour when heated and spoils the coffee for me - please change it 🙂 will definitely be visiting again when we’re at the park regardless of!
