VERY DISAPPOINTED I have eaten here many times over many years and it has always been good. Today was a different world !! On the day it wasn’t busy at all, once seated had to stand up to ask for everything it was 15 mins just to get a menu. Received shocking service from the waitress ( no welcome, please, thank you, “how was your meal”, etc. Ignored requests and the drinks took 15 mins to arrived.... than food was ordered and 30 mins later the starter came out at this point my boyfriend came out wrong what he ordered. the food was cold and no taste very bland nothing special !! The one star is for the poppadom because that’s all I can actually say was nice. Sorry for being negative but me and my family didn’t even get a thank you for our custom and will not be coming again

We were expecting it to be busier on a Friday evening, but we were only 1 of 2 tables. We’ve been coming to Nirvana on and off for a number of years, but this was really poor. The waitress couldn’t look less interested if she tried. The food was just about ok, but the two main courses looked suspiciously similar.

We have visited this restaurant on many occasions. We have always had a good meal and have no complaints in that regard. However, there have been occasions when we have felt that we have outstayed our welcome. On the last visit, we had finished our meals and were sitting at the table waiting for our lifts to arrive. It was not too late, however the background music was abruptly turned off, five minutes later we were told that they wanted to close. We had no alternative other to stand outside the restaurant in the cold and the rain whilst waiting for our lifts. Would it have been any hardship for the restaurant to allow six ladies to stand in the porch until our lifts arrived? Will seriously think twice before visiting again. The site would not allow me to put a rating, but it would have been 3 for service, 4 for food and value.

We went along with a large group of friends which included a couple of Nirvana regulars. The reception, on arrival, was friendly enough although drinks ordering seemed to be an unnecessarily confusing process. The food itself was decent was good levels of spicing which avoided the blandness that can sometime beset Indian restaurants. The service, whilst reasonably prompt, was a little surly. This did detract from the whole experience sadly. Still, a decent Indian restaurant.

We have been visiting this restaurant for a number of years and have always found the food and service to be exceptional, however on Saturday 24th March 2018 we visited and whilst the food was up to the usual high standards, the service was terrible. The waiter appeared to be nervous, he was clumsy leaning over people with food and to collect dishes, the service was slow and after 15 minutes of waiting we had to ask if we could have a drink! Overall we had a good evening but the service needs to be improved

We decided to visit Nirvana again, after a very long absence, due to previous less than encouraging food and service. So we were hoping for improvements and expecting better things this time around? Well we were NOT pleasantly surprised!! The table was probably the worst in the restaurant, despite booking more than a week in advance and despite requesting another table were told that the ones we could see free were reserved. However I think the "Manager" could see we were about to leave and decided to EVENTUALLY to move us....to the smallest squashed table up a corner...hmmm. Yes they were about 60% full but I think an advanced booking deserves better. ( We decided to stay and were rewarded by the sight of the further 3 tables in the room remain EMPTY for our entire meal....not impressed! So to the food and beverages: Why oh Why can't someone in the Curry Fraternity stock some actual Beer/Ale as opposed to the staple Lagers of Cobra/Mongoose or Carling...yak!! There is only ever Newcastle Brown wherever you go and we had just had some excellent Beer at The Artisan Tap Bar virtually next door!! Note to all Curry Establishments ...proper beer goes much better with the meal and is less gassy so your customers will drink more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Crusade over, jumping off my Orange Box...) Now the Grub. Well it was amusing watching the Manager and staff try to serve us stuck up the corner with all the other free tables idly empty, they really struggled...silly so and so's!! The crocks were fine and a new pot for the Rice was unusual and attractive as thing go. The curries were less impressive and not even the quality of a "Monday Night B team effort" let alone a prime time Saturday offering!! BLAND probably best describes them and certainly nothing to write home about, but more than enough to persuade me to write here. I wouldn't usually have looked on Trip Advisor before booking a local restaurant, but shall in the future in case someone has preceded me and shared their "enjoyment"!?!?.... So would I recommend..NO. Why... as above poor service/attitude and disappointing Meals. It is a Curry Restaurant, but you wouldn't really think so taste wise!!

This evening we went as a group 12 in total I think. The servers were very attentive and friendly and the surrounding we not too bad. It was a little cramped but that didn't stop us all having fun and a good chat. The food although not the greatest I've ever had was certainly acceptable. I was a little disappointed at the portion size of the curry but the flavour was there. Also the beer was cold and tasty so all in all it was a good night and I would go back again next time I'm in the country.

Not able to eat main course. Too salty and the amount of oil in the dish made if look like oil soup! Starter was very bland. The best thing was the tamarind pickle served on the side of the starters. This is because it came from a jar. To get the best from this fine indian dining experience, I suggest asking if they have any tinned or frozen ready meals. They are considerably better than what the kitchen gave me. Shameful. It was a waste of money. Chipati £2.30 each, £7 for starter, £15 for special main course. So getting on for £25 for starter main and sundries. A tin of curry from Saibsburys would have been more authentic and flavoursome. It comes as no surprise then, that some of the reviews mention the poor attitude of the staff. They must be so upset having to serve this slop! Spare a thought for these poor individuals if you do visit this establishment. Also perhaps take a tin of curry with you and ask them to open it and warm it up for you. It certainly was a special experience!

Once again, fantastic food in a lovely environment. A perfect place to celebrate a birthday and catch up with friends. Unfortunately tonight the service bordered on rude and very unwelcoming. The final straw was having not realised the bill had been placed on the table without being asked for, the waiter just arrived with a card machine and stood at the table. When the waiter picked up the bill he stood and counted out the notes at the table inferring that we might not be paying the correct amount! Very embarrassing and rude, my suggestion is that a customer service course is long overdue!!

Really disappointed. Decided to ring for takeaway at 8 on a Thursday evening. Ordered popadoms and dips. Ordered seekh kebab and mint and yoghurt dip and salad. Ordered chicken tikka sagwala and garlic pilau rice. I asked for one extra mint and yoghurt so 3 mint and yoghurt dips. Got home and only one mint and yoghurt dip which ruined the meal as I like it with the seekh kebab. The seekh kebab looked authentic and homemade and had good spices in and wasn't bright red which is a bonus but was too chewy and not tender (frozen reheated?). Very disappointed. Popadoms were quite good and dips were spot on especially the pickle which is always good and the onion dip and the mango chutney was nice unlike many places that taste weird. The worse let down was the chicken tikka sagwala. Oh dear. The chicken was either over heated or something weird. I don't know how it can be so bad. It was tough and bits wouldn't cut and were stuck together. Horrible. One of the worst I've had and didn't seem fresh. And the spinach sauce was bad. Rice was stuffed full of burnt garlic slices. A shame indeed. I won't be going back. There are definitely better restaurants. There were only 2 tables full - the restaurant was dead. Anyway, a waste of £11.

Dined here on a Tuesday evening. It had been recommended to us by several people. We loved the atmosphere. It was clean and tables laid out nicely (including cotton serviettes). The waiters were very attentive and helpful. My partner ordered chicken chat on puri which was tasty, though he would have preferred it to have been a little spicier. It came with 3 dips. My lamb and aubergine curry was delicious, though it was a little oily.No complaints from my partner on the chicken dopiazza. He asked for it to be madras in strength. Perfect. I ordered a tarka dhal side dish and pilau rice. Both were lovely. The cheese and garlic naan was one of the best we have had. It is a little pricey but well worth it. We had 1 soft drink and half a lager. The whole bill came to approx £40. It would have been nice to have ordered a bottle of wine with our meal but they were expensive. Excellent menu. We will be returning again in the future.

I visited the Nirvana with my brother following a family bereavement. We went early (5.30pm) and as soon as we entered the atmosphere was warm and friendly. There was an excellent choice of food on the menu and very reasonably priced.. We made our choice, Biryani for me & Balti for my brother with the usual poppadum & pickle starters. Everything was very tasty. The mains were hot and very enjoyable if there was to be a compliant at all it was that the 'sizes were too big'. The staff very attentive without being intrusive and the restaurant soon began to fill up. When I am in Newcastle under Lyme again I will certainly re-visit the ' Nirvana '

Visited last Saturday night. Used to live in Hartshill and go fairly often several years ago. Was a personal favourite, was really disappointed in how standards had dropped though.I had the lamb shank. Not cheap, but really tough, like the meat had been frozen. Sauce with it was passable, but unremarkable. Partner had the tandoori prawns which were expensive, tough and dry. Shared starter we had was boring.Beer was warm, which is just lack of care frankly. Staff do a lot, but don't seem to be managed well. Running around like headless chickens seemingly, rather than having 'their' tables that they look after. Took ages to get drink orders and there was no continuity in service. No offence to the lads working there, but it isn't a warm welcome.Compare this to Thalii and the difference is marked. Both in terms of food and service. If I wanted a standard Indian meal though (rather than Thalii) I would go to Jalsa now. This used to be the best, but much like the Bombay Club up the road, standards have dropped considerably.

We had some visitors over from the US and wanted to give them a taste of a good curry house. We have been here before, some while back, and the food was quite good so we decided to take them here. This was a huge mistake as we got poor service and below average food. We booked for 6.30 pm, our orders were taken fairly quickly. Our poppadums were soft and slightly stale, but the worst was having to wait for more than one hour between our starter and the main meal. When all our drinks were finished and we still did not have our meal, we asked for a jug of water and they were reluctant to give it to us, we had to ask for it 3 (!) times. We were ready to give up and leave when the food arrived. Having sat down at 6.30, we got our meak at 8.10 pm. My husband and I chose lamb dishes. The lamb was so tough and dry, it was like chewing bark. It was such a disappointment that we were apologising to our guests for making such a poor choice. We will not go there again.

Very disappointing experience at Nirvana last night. Several staff attended our table, no-one smiled and they all seemed disinterested throughout. The beer was warm, the chutney tray was basically thrown onto the table. The evening only got worse with the food. All three curries and a side dish were bland and lacking in any flavour or spicing. The breads and rice were passable but nothing special. On top of all of this the restaurant is comparatively expensive (£70 for 3 main meals and a couple of extras, no starters and two drinks each) when compared to many much better Indian restaurants in the area. We weren't asked at any point if we were enjoying the food so we just paid an left. Sadly won't be returning, there are way better restaurants close by.

Firstly, the food was absolutely lovely, portions were of great value and had a lovely choice on the menu. We booked in on a Saturday night about a week before our visit and although we were pleased with the food, we had been booked in during a massive party of about 25- 30 were also in.This meant as a party of 5 we were sat on a table for 4 with an extra seat plonked on the end and space was really really sparse! We all had ordered a curry and a side and also had some sundries and there was literally no room on our table for all the food and our drinks!! Would of appreciated being informed before hand that our table was not big enough table and that a massive party was also booked as may have decided to go another night. With so many being in the dinning room it was really loud and children were quite annoying bursting balloons and running around when we were trying to eat.Would book again and hope next time we get a properly sized table so we can enjoy the lovely food without worrying about space.

Went last Saturday to pick up a takeaway that I had been looking forward to all week. Know it's a cliche but had Chicken Tikka Masala, pilau rice and garlic nan. Where do I start!!! The Masala was processed sliced chicken that had not been marinated in what I can only describe as a tasteless tomato soup type sauce. The rice was over cooked and dry and finally the nan bread was burnt to a crisp had hardly any garlic taste and was the size of a mouses ear rather than an elephants ear!! Sticking to Aldi sauces and making my own in future!!!

We thought that was reasonable given the quality of the food was overall really good. Only downside, my partner's lamb was quite tough and not cooked as well as he has had elsewhere.Nice establishment in terms of ambience and décor and I would certainly recommend it to friends.

This restaurant provides tasty and good value food in a friendly manner. It has a reputation locally of combining good value for money with good food. The staff (all men) are welcoming and helpful. The decor and setup is utilitarian. The menu is arguably too large. I had Lamb Tikka Chops and my colleague ordered Chicken Tikka as a starter. Nicely but conventionally presented. Run of the mill in terms of taste. Main dishes were a prawn biriani and chicken tikka nagga; good amount of prawns and challenging hot tikka nagga. Rice, nans and lots of beer OK. It was noticeable how the waiters talked to their customers - friendly and conversationally. The service was good. Sound.

Nirvana is our local so we go quite a few times and I've never had a bad curry yet. We decided to go for Xmas day (was the only place we could get in) now I know what your thinking, going an Indian for a Xmas meal is rather risky, so I arrived with fairly low expectations anyway with how an Indian restaurant is going to pull off an English Xmas dinner, the dinner however was worst than my expectations. We had two slices of turkey, frozen roast potatoes, frozen carrots and literally 1 or 2 sprouts each, may i just had that the xmas dinner also consisted of salad with gravy, yes very strange indeed! The meal itself was very small, I'm a size size 8 with a small appetite, but it was even too small for me!! There was no extra trimmings on your plate. Now my major issue wasn't the poor food, but the price. On the website it quoted the English 3 course meal at 24.95 and the curry one for 27.95. The website still quotes this price now, and we took a menu and leaflet home which also stated this price.... however on the day itself the price for the English 3 course meal was changed to the more expensive price of 27.95 which isn't what what was quoted before on your website and your promotional leaflets... you can't just change the price to suit yourselfs! You should honour the price stated on your website you con artists ! Never going again for Christmas dinner, I've had better school dinners! My dad had the curry 3 course meal and said it was lovely, but man alive you guys make a crappy English dinner! Get your jamie oliver cook books out please and get your chefs trained!

A great looking place on the website, an enthusiastic recommendation and an expectation of something above and beyond the normal 'run of the mill' Indian restaurant but I have to say, I was extremely disappointed. In all fairness to them, the tandoori starter was not half bad except that the dips were so small, they barely covered the bottom do the small dish, but that's were the relatively good news ends. The poppadum chutneys were very poor in terms of both volume and quality. The main courses were nothing special and I would actually describe them both as below average. The following day we both felt a bit 'out of sorts' with slight stomach upsets which does of course lead you to reflect on the Indian meal the previous evening. We do a lot of Indian cooking at home which includes preparing chutneys and relishes, so we know how easy and cheap it is to prepare mouthwatering relishes for poppadums. So when you go to, what you believe is a good Indian restaurant, you expect something more. Unfortunately it was several levels below our expectations. Yes, we would definitely describe the food as disappointing and would never have driven such a distance when there are much better Indian restaurants closer to home, and that includes home.

We went as a party of 14 for a pre-Xmas meal tonight - we had pre -ordered the food on the fixed price basis for groups - it took them ages to get the dishes right when they came - both starters and mains - the waiter hadn't got a clue - and as a result the food was lukewarm! And then they tried to charge us full price for everything ! They say they were short staffed but there was hardly anyone in there so that's no excuse - oh and there was some sort of leak in the gents toilets that I reported to them but was either still there or had returned an hour later ! Would love to know why our experience was so bad ! Perhaps they will respond to this review - if they don't you can draw your own conclusions ! Not happy as you can tell !

We have not visited this restaurant for 2 years but nothing was changed. The food was excellent, the staff pleasant, especially the 'new' one who was nervous but did well. The service was quick although the restaurant was busy. The only drawback was that the tables are close together - or at least where we sat - and so it became a bit noisy with chatter from the adjacent tables. However on returning to this restaurant we soon found out it had changed! When my balti arrived it was swimming in grease, so much so that that was all I could taste! I then realised that the waiter had sat us right under a huge cobweb with the biggest spider in which was right above our table! 1/5 for cleanliness! Not to mention a jug of TAP WATER costing us £4.50! The staff were no longer welcoming and never engaged in conversation with the customers but would rather stand round on their mobile phones which I thought was very poor customer service! My advice? This place looks amazing from outside and once inside you get the same feeling. The meal its self was fantastic however there were 8 out for a meal that night and we all felt rushed, rushed in taking our orders...starters and main meals and then once we had finished the meal we had one of the waiters standing over us rushing us to get up and move into the lounge area to finish talking, wouldn't of minded if the place was full... Very disappointed with the attitude of one of the waiters.... Please take note... One person who nearly spoiled our night...send him on a customer services course.... Listen to your customers.. We were regulars........We will not be going back.

We went for a family meal on New Year's Eve and the food was excellent as always. The atmosphere was buzzing but not overcrowded. We had to wait a little longer for our food, however this did not detract from the evening at all. Food was wonderful, not a morsel left. We had a lovely evening.

As a very loyal and long term customer I am very disappointed to leave this negative review! I rang up to order a take away for collection consisting of two garlic naan's, a rice and a portion of chips! The man refused my order as I was not ordering a main meal to go with the order! I totally understand this if the customer is sitting in and taking up a table or if i was asking for delivery.... But to refuse my collection take away order for this reason I am disgusted! I will certainly not be returning as there are plenty of lovely indian restaurants around the area. I would love someone from the restaurant to leave a comment on this review with an explanation as I personally feel you need to explain yourself! From a very disappointed EX customer!

My son and I went for my Birthday and thought this place was OK. Nothing was really bad, nothing was really good. The layout and decor is nice, not packed in with plenty of room between tables. Personally, I can't understand why an Asian restaurant would want to play British Christmas music, but maybe that's an unfair criticism bearing in mind that there were Christmas parties in there (I hate my birthday being so close to Christmas). Staff were in good supply, but do they have to stand chatting to each other in the dining areas? Starters were a shared plate, I can't remember its name but there were two tiny pakoras, a small shish and a chicken chat. It was OK ( the theme re-emerges) but quite small. This was followed by my son having his ' safe' Chicken Tikka Masalla which looked OK but again short changed on chicken content. He said he preferred the one at our local Indian (which I detest as I always have an upset stomach the next day, and has a 1 star food hygiene rating). His comments really do reflect a poor CTM at Nirvana. My lamb shank, for which I chose this restaurant, was guess what? OK. Nice enough, meltingly tender but not wow which I had been expecting. The egg pilau rice portion was huge and lovely, the cheese garlic nan bread plate sized and fresh. Cost with a glass of wine a lemonade and a small bottle of cider - £43. All in all, a little more than justified, but OK. Will I go back? No, much better on offer even if I can't get my beloved lamb shank.

Chicken Bengal nice n spicey, but wife's dhansak was more like lemon chicken in lemon curry sauce and I don't think lemon and curry go together Restaraunt was full of Christmas meals including ours so maybe below average due to this, and our preferred venue was unfortunately full that night Most in group enjoyed the food, no over waiting between courses, portions a little small for my liking and there was 12 chips in the small serving bowls/cup they use

Family 50th and a previous visit bought a big party of us to Nirvana......and was not disappointed..If you like Indian/Asian you will find plenty to enjoy. Even though the English dishes are limited in number they are still very good. All great sizes. Impressed that our big party were 'fed' at a similar time (doesnt always happen with large numbers in some places) and all piping hot. Only reason it didnt score 5 was because one of the staff didnt look happy/or give the impression he was enjoying his job. Smile young man because you work at a great restaurant. ☺☺

The pappadoms were warm and crisp. The starters were very good and beautifully presented. My Lamb Madras was hotter than expected but full of flavour. I really could not fault any of the food served. Although next time I will ask them to go easy on the chilli - if I have a Madras - which I will be tempted to as the flavour is so good. My waiter was attentive without being overly so.Nice place, good staff and excellent food. What more do you want?

I've been a regular visitor to Nirvana ever since its opening and have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. The food is always an outstanding quality and the menu is extensive and varied, offering an array of choices to suit all tastes. Whether you're a cautious "curry newbie" or an adventurous hardened fan, you're sure to find something that you'll enjoy and in my experience, you'll discover that the chilli strength guides are spot on, with no unwelcome surprises. If you're a seasoned pro and know exactly what you want, but don't see a dish that meets your accustomed description, the staff are more than happy to accommodate your requests and all dishes can be adapted to any strength, if required. The menu also offers a very good selection of vegetarian dishes and although there is a limited choice of "English Dishes" the quality remains.I've seen one or two reviews that suggest that the prices are a little high, however this is described as Indian Fine Dining where they concentrate on quality and presentation, so for me pricing is not an issue.Take away orders are catered for and receive a 10% discount, however I believe that this service is collection only.Parties of varying sizes can be catered for and from experience, large groups do not suffer unduly from a deterioration of service, although you have to appreciate that not everyone will receive their food at exactly the same time, it just isn't possible....

I ate in a party of five. No one had any complaints about the food but I wasn't impressed, particularly as it wasn't cheap. The restaurant itself is very pleasant. I'd probably give it another go but it's not as though we are short of other options in the Potteries.

First visit here. Greeted nicely upon entry, lovely decor with comfortable seating. For starters we had the shami kebab which, for me, did taste a bit bland if I'm honest, good job there were some sauces at the side and coriander on my plate. My boyfriend had the nirvana classic starter, was nice but not a lot of it, personally think a little overpriced. For mains we had chicken Malayan, with peshwari nan, pilau rice , chicken tikka passanda with keema nan. Mains were delicious, nan breads were nice size but not the best tasting ones we have had but still ok. All in all a nice dining experience though and we shall return here.

We always use Nirvana for special celebrations and as always the food was fab. Our waiter was friendly but we were really surprised by the attitude of the other staff. They were unhelpful, ignored requests for drinks to the extent that we ended up going up the bar to order our own. This is such a shame as they really seem to have everything else right here - a bit of customer service training wouldn't go a miss at the moment!

This has to be up there with the best Indian restaurants in Staffordshire. The menu is extensive and includes excellent fish dishes. The Dhesi Lamb Shank is to die for and this is the only Indian restaurant I have found so far that does this dish. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere very casual.I always drink the King Cobra beer when eating here, it's well worth a try.

My friend asked on 2 seperate occasions for a glass of tap water with nothing in it, both times it came with ice and lemon. My drink also came with ice which I had said I didn't want.My main course was also wrong as was one of the side orders......'Little' things I know, but so easily rectified!!!Otherwise, food and the evening were, as always, very, very nice!!!

The restaurant looks smart when you first enter but the staff seemed efficient but lacked personality. I had the Tandorri Chicken which was over salty but not too much to send it back. Exactly what I had heard - beautiful food and very good service. The only niggle (and it's tiny!) is that we visited on a rainy night and there were approximately 15 people dining here. That said, we were all sat next to each other which I thought was strange. It was a tiny issue and wouldn't be a problem if the other diners were quiet. Unfortunately, we were between two tables of squealing teenagers. If you are thinking of visiting - do it. I would definitely return!

I went here with 3 others on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great. We were seated next to a wall, which had splashes/ stains of food on it, so that could do with a lick of paint. Wasn't very nice to see... However, the staff were very friendly and we were served quickly. Unfortunately my lamb sheik kebab starter was a bit raw in the middle, so I didn't eat half of it. My partner had trout as a main course which could have done with coming with a sauce as it was too dry as a stand alone dish. My curry was tasty as were the rest of the curries on the table, but my friend ordered garlic rice, which was very garlicky indeed. They ended up having to pick out the garlic cloves from the rice as there were just too many. It was funny though, as we could smell garlic every time he burped in the pub later on! Overall, it was a decent meal, but I've had many better curry nights. We might have just been a bit unlucky on this occasion.

We knew to book early and were glad we had as the venue was full on the Saturday night we went for our meals. Our party of five were immediately greeted at the door and taken to our table. Menus were given out and we were asked for our drinks order. The drinks arrived and we gave our choice of meals. In a very reasonable time all our choices arrived and we soon started to enjoy the food.I can only give my own experience and I felt there were no downsides to this venue. The decor was modern but very well put together to keep the atmosphere just about right. The staff came across friendly and helpful and willing to give any advice that was requested. The food was well presented and of a high standard. All the dishes were very tasty and the portions more than adequate. The cost of the meals and drinks were about what you would expect from a good class of restaurant.I would certainly recommend giving Nirvana a try and feel confident it would be acceptable to most peoples tastes. There is no doubt also that I will be back in the future.

We called in to the restaurant,as we wanted to try it out to advice our guests of our hotel of nice places to eat when visiting the area, we did not receive any kind of warm welcome as we were told we could only have the table for a limited time , I tried to engage the older gent in conversation of which he just ignored me , I asked if i could have a pot of tea ,they said it was made in a cup, I then asked for a coffee , he walked off, the staff had no manners at all, our starters came onion barges I ate the first one it was laced with chilly my lips/mouth were on fire , we noticed staff were coming past and grinning, I spoke to the waiter to complain about the starter and said we weren't going to stay as I Had never had a onion barge like them and I did not want to risk the main course being the same he offered no apology no explanation no alternative the waiting on staff were smirking and I felt that the starter was laced with chilly purposely. All in all this was far from a fine dining experience, I will not be Recommending this restaurant to anyone,

My second visit to this restaurant with family and the food was excellent. I am a bit of a curry expert having sampled many of the fine Indian restaurants in and around Birmingham and this one is every bit as good. The restaurant has a modern up market feel about it, but it retains a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the menu is extensive and the food is well presented. Being a Saturday night it was very busy and the service was a little slow, but food compensated for that. If you are in the area I would recommend you try it, but remember to book to avoid a long wait for a table or disappointment.

This place looks lovely, inviting, the staff are very welcoming. We ordered a takeaway, expecting it to be as delicious as we'd heard. Unfortunately, my chicken balti, apart from being very salty, tasted nothing like a Baltic, more like a bland basic curry. My partner had the chicken tikka, he said the same, salty, not at all like any chicken tikka he'd ever tasted( not in a good way either). Even the garlic coriander naan bread tasted strange, and again, salty. Won't be in a hurry to return I'm afraid to say.

Excellent Nihari dish. Perfect blend of spices and flavour. Very well made and excellent texture. The chapati was also of a good size and quality. The nihari was large in portion and had plenty of tender lamb pieces within it. The gentleman who served me was pleasant, helpful and polite. The seating area is adequate for a simple sit down but only as a takeaway style. It isn't for anyone wishing for a restaurant experience with a family, for example. I will definitely try to come back for their Nihari.

Was told this was under new management and I would love the food, by the guy who picked up the phone at Curry City. The previous owners of Curry City did not rate very high on my Indian food list, sorry to say these people are even worseSuch poor quality Indian food around Stoke-on-Trent, it seems to me they have totally inexperienced chefs in most of these places now.My food at Curry City - Both meals contained chicken, both tasted fridgy , both sauces were hard to eat, very unpleasant one had no real flavour just incredibly sweet, sugary coconut thick bland sauce, the other just over spiced and acridNot recommended
