Next Door - Llandudno in Conwy

What a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I went with some friends and I was totally disappointed with the night. The front of house service was totally inadequate and the time it took to get food from the kitchen was unbelievably long. The food when it eventually came was good but the whole night was ruined by the hours we waited for service and food. This is not an exaggeration it literally took over an hour to get served. Totally understaffed and the front of house management either didn’t care or were oblivious to the diners who were waiting to be served. I Cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone and k would urge people to think again before booking a table. There are excellent restaurants in Llandudno but this is NOT ONE OF THEM. AVOID IT

Great place for couples. Quiet welcoming with the most amazing small plates menu. Food was delicious pricing very reasonable would definitely recommend

Sorely disappointed in the quality of the food for the Mother’s Day menu .. lamb fatty and you were not able to select how it was cooked. It was cooked through but not nice and far too much gristle and fat / Vegetarian option was dry and tasteless and no other choice - need a sauce and some flavour adding. Desserts were okay and service was efficient. One of the more expensive Sunday lunches and very under whelmed

Un grupo de 14 de nosotros en Llandudno para una reunión tuvimos el placer de cenar en este restaurante el 19 de marzo El servicio fue excelente y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que la comida estaba muy bien preparada y deliciosa. Sin duda lo haría Recomienda una visita.

El “de al lado” es el Dunoon Hotel, cuyos propietarios también son dueños del restaurante. Ahora, una confesión. Simplemente no nos gusta la moda moderna de los restaurantes de “platos pequeños”, donde los platos vienen cuando están listos, en lugar de en el orden que pensabas que sería bueno cuando lees el menú. Así que, usted puede preguntar, ¿por qué estábamos cenando en un lugar que le insta a pedir varios platos pequeños para compartir. Y, de hecho, ¿por qué estábamos tan decididos a comer aquí (dos visitas anteriores previstas, a lo largo de los meses, tuvieron que ser canceladas) . Bueno, es porque cada elemento en el menú se puede pedir como un plato pequeño o grande. Es un golpe de genialidad. Significa que puedes pedir, digamos, un plato pequeño y luego un plato grande – o, como preferimos llamarlos, un entrante y un plato principal. De hecho, no fuimos por la ruta del plato pequeño ni siquiera para empezar porque también tenían un tablero para compartir que realmente atraía. Había queso y croquetas de mostaza (la mostaza domina) , brócoli de tallo tierno en masa de tempura (crujiente y absolutamente encantador) , un par de dips directamente del libro de cocina libanés - berenjena (moutabal) y pimiento rojo y nuez (muhammarra) . También hay pequeños platos de aceitunas, frutos secos, rábano encurtido y pepinillos. Y panes planos muy bonitos y suaves. Ambos fuimos por platos principales que tenían influencias asiáticas. Falafel estaban muy bien crujientes, el interior del garbanzo aromatizado con tahini y ajo, servido con un puré de pimiento rojo y yogur. El otro plato incluía dos sabrosos kebabs kofta picados de cordero con una salsa que tenía toques de sabores a curry y un dulzor afrutado. Ciertamente funcionó bien. Y estos platos grandes vienen con su elección de dos lados - ambos estábamos contentos con una ensalada verde y patatas nuevas. Fue muy tranquilo, con solo otras dos mesas ocupadas durante el tiempo que estuvimos allí. Eso significaba que había atmósfera nula. Nuestro servidor, que estaba muy en la pelota, dijo que retoma a partir de mayo con los turistas. Tal vez no está apretando los botones para los locales, lo que es una pena. Por lo tanto, una buena cena y una adición bienvenida a la zona tanto en su concepto como en su ejecución. Estoy seguro de que volveremos en algún momento para disfrutar de platos arraigados en la cocina local – sí, mejillas de cerdo con puré de apio, te estoy mirando.

Habíamos oído muchas cosas geniales sobre el restaurante que queríamos ver por nosotros mismos. Bueno, eso fue fácil de ver por qué, un gran menú tanto para la comida como para el vino. Cada uno de nosotros pidió algo diferente del menú y todos calificamos nuestra comida con 10 sobre 10. No es un restaurante grande, así que esto se sumó al ambiente del lugar. Realmente bien decorado durante todo el día... ..sentir que estábamos cenando en un restaurante fresco, mediterráneo. Gran servicio e incluso tuvimos el chef jefe de pop out para preguntarnos sobre nuestra experiencia gastronómica. Perfecto. Ya hemos reservado nuestra próxima visita.

Después de haber estado aquí un par de veces para los platos pequeños que siempre han sido increíbles, la cena del domingo me fue recomendada, así que pensamos en probarlo. Absolutamente precioso tan sabroso que tuvimos la carne de res que se cocinó a la perfección el pudín Yorkshire era enorme. Toda la verdura estaba deliciosa La espera en el equipo era atento y educado. La decoración de este restaurante es impresionante moderno y con estilo. Sin duda volveremos para el asado del domingo de nuevo en un futuro próximo.

Visitamos para el almuerzo del domingo después de encontrar el restaurante en la mesa abierta - estábamos buscando un lugar diferente en Llandudno. No nos decepcionó, la comida era increíble y sin duda volveremos pronto.

Interesante menú pero los platos fueron golpeados y Miss en calidad. Las porciones como se indica son pequeñas y necesitan al menos 6-8 por pareja, lo que lo convierte en una opción de precio. Difícil de establecer si las tapas son de inspiración española o de cocina sabatina. Las descripciones de los postres son magníficas, pero parecían ser promedio en el plato. El queso parecía ser queso comprado en Gales en lugar de queso galés. No es un lugar para volver una vez visitado cuando Llandudno tiene muchos restaurantes de calidad para elegir.

¡Buena comida! Mi pareja siempre es escéptica con los platos pequeños, pero el hecho de que puedas tener unos pocos catadores de cualquiera o elegir uno como principal con dos lados es ingenioso. ¡Mi compañero tenía cordero, gambas y ensalada de pesto de tomate mozerella y escoge un lado de maíz en la mazorca! Vaya que literalmente se ‘comió’ sus palabras. Tenía las vieiras y colas de pez monje y pasteles de cangrejo, absolutamente delicioso. Con un menú realmente fabuloso y variado nos encantó este restaurante - el precio era muy razonable, así como para lo que conseguimos. Felicitaciones por un lugar fabuloso que sin duda volveremos - por favor, inténtalo, estamos tan contentos de haberlo hecho por mi cumpleaños.

The food was delicious, and having mini-plates allowed us to experience a greater variety. We all enjoyed ourselves, the staff were lovely, and all for a very reasonable price considering the very high quality of the food.

Food mediocre , service not great. Older gentleman serving never spoke, dumped plates in front of us , never smiled once. More of a cafe/ bistro rather than a restaurant. Cold and uninviting. Expensive for what you get

Had a very good dinner here once with their small plates but recently had lunch and quite a disappointing menu. Not the best welsh rarebit, actually the worst compared to other places. Service is very good though and a nice venue. Won’t go for lunch again though.

A very good menu of main meals and tapas style dishes to share. We opted for a range of delicious tapas accompanied by a very pleasant Australian Chardonnay. The staff were efficient and attentive and we enjoyed our food in an artistically decorated space. Would definitely return to this restaurant.

The restaurant is very nice and so are the staff. The food is delicious we all had different types that we tasted. I'm going to Llandudno soon I'll definitely go back for lunch the Saturday I'm going.

I came here with my mum as part of a short break, staying in the Dunoon. We had the 3 course Sunday dinner and it was truly exceptional. Monkfish to start, beef Sunday roast for main course, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was the tastiest meal I’ve had in a long time - I live in London and go out for meals often and nothing came close to this meal! Really lovely decor and amazing service too - we were served by Richard who even lit the fire in the Dunoon living room for us to retire to after the meal. Highly recommend!

We visit Llandudno regularly and tried this restaurant for the first time last Saturday after recommendations from friends. We can honestly say this is the best restaurant we've been to in our 15 years of visiting the Conwy area. Do not miss this opportunity. From the attentive and charming service from Raz to the delicious and mourish food and drinks. My wife hasn't stopped talking about the beef rib and wings for 2 days now. So much so we've already planned a visit with 4 friends on our next visit to the area in February. Outstanding and best of luck to all the team at Next Door you've gained 2 big fans and regular returning customers.

What a superb find managed to fit a table of six in, at very short notice on a very busy weekend. The food was fabulous, the service was amazing, i dont drink but my colleagues said the wine selection was excellent & so were the bottles we had. We will definitely be back, Thank you so much for making our evening wonderful.

What can I say I read the reviews before going and those that complain about the decor need to really get a life !! The food is outstanding and the decor is beautiful. The staff are welcoming and pleasant. Overall a lovely experience. Personally we will be coming back again to see Raz and the staff that made our afternoon a memorable one.

Expecting top notch food and service but unfortunately this restaurant delivered averagely on both counts. All the food lacked the “freshly cooked to order”taste - it seemed “ warmed up in the microwave” and was all pretty bland. Friendly enough staff but not the smartest of dress - most wearing trainers. No real atmosphere, rather cold in fact. Shame as the place itself is beautifully decorated. Sorry we won’t be back and don’t rate high enough to recommend.

Staying at the Dunoon hotel for the weekend we decided to have lunch at next door on arrival and was so glad we did. Attentive and friendly staff good menu and wine selection. We choose to try the fish platter and have to say the best one tried to date. All fish cooked to perfection with a range of dips and flatbread. Another tried sandwich which was equally enjoyed. Food was well cooked and extremely tasty, and a bit different to the normal Sunday lunch offering. Great wine selection. Decor is modern but classic and creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Tried the experience of this particular branch of fine dining. Not for us as we found it to be too expensive in the end, with small portions of food, somewhat over rated.

Chipped plates, expensive menu, small portions but worst of all just far below average food and bad service. We’ve been wanting to go here for sometime and after reading other reviews we’re expecting fine dining, good service and excellent food. We got none of this. Table of four, 6pm. Not busy. Asked for a New Zealand Sauvignon blanc and got ‘white wine’. Ordered four different mains- which came quickly. Monkfish was rubbery- I suspect frozen- and was in a very weak sauce. Not as described. Steak came as a salad essentially. New potatoes rock hard. Cured duck was more like a muddy leaf. And the other dish wasn’t memorable or fresh either. Limited sides, limited choices and limited customer service. Your barman argued with me when I suggested quietly and respectfully that the food wasn’t up to standard. 3 waiters all in trainers couldn’t even tuck a shirt in between them. No seasoning. Dishes luke warm or even cold. And chipped! No cruets on the table. No real atmosphere here after a very dry welcome either, despite the beautiful art all around on the walls. Facilities were clean and restaurant was clean but pretentiously overpriced and we all believe bad customer service. In short- a lovely looking restaurant with below average (and I suspect frozen) food sold at a premium price by below average quality staff. We are locals. We live in Llandudno. We expected far better for £100 for 3 and a half meals and 2 beers. I certainly didn’t expect an argument when politely suggesting food wasn’t fantastic. Very disappointed.

Went with my sweetheart Michelle on the occasion of our 26th wedding anniversary. There was a good selection of food on the menu and quite an extensive wine list. The main dishes are also available in tapas style small plates - we went for the this option and enjoyed some delicious dishes. The accompanying wine was very pleasant and the desert ant coffee was very good. We received first class service and the decor in the restaurant made for a very nice space to relax and enjoy a meal. Would definitely go back - highly recommended.

Well, I saw a sign saying go next door for coffee and cake. So I let myself and sat in a comfy lounge area that had family photos? Which I thought was odd but there you go. But not as odd as when Mrs.Marge walked in very surprised but offered me coffee and cake none the less which was delicious may I say. But what's more there wasn't a mandatory service charge applied. All in all lovely trip to next door of next door would definitely recommend had a lovely time with some lovely food.

5 ladies were there to celebrate a 60th birthday. All but 1 found the menu easy to understand (don't ask), but to make things easier, we ordered a meat platter & a fish/vegetarian platter for the 5 of us. Great-Except we got 4 of everything....
