New World Chinese in South Derbyshire

Had a curry the first night ov them opening from a 1 month holiday. The curry was shocking The curry sauce was so thick it was uneatable. The beef in it was terrible. And the spare ribs was full of pure fat. Will never eat from there again. The fried rice was half a tub.

We have had takeaways from New World for the last 9 years and without tempting fate we have never ever had anything wrong with our food. It has been tasty, plentiful and always deliver quicker than they say on phone even at busy times. Faultless food and best around. Wouldn't go anywhere else and defo recommend

Chicken curry onions not cooked chicken died of old age chips soggy and under cooked. Sweet and sour chicken batter overcooked chicken died if old age. Inedible

Had another fantastic takeaway, had about 15 in total now and never had a bad meal. Due to current issues wait times are long but it's worth the wait, and we always collect. Would definitely recommend over other Chinese takeaways in Newhall / Swadlincote

Ordered chow main it was cold and the chips where disgusting you could throw them at a dart board and they would stick in i won't be recommending to my friends and family 😢 😞 😕 😑

Last night I waited outside for over half an hour for a vegetarian mushroom curry, noodles and spring rolls, only to be questioned whether I’d paid, when people who had arrived after me were collecting there food, after waiting another 10 minutes, I was assured my orders was ready and had been checked, only to find when dishing up - Prawn curry and rice. I’ve used them many times, but last night was the final straw. I heard other people ringing as their orders were also wrong. In the current situation, local businesses say they need our custom, obviously they don’t. Totally ruined a well earned treat, and ended up straight in the bin.

The reason I say brilliant because it is. I use it most weeks and the food is always the same as before whatever dish you have

Tried a few different dishs tonight and not disappointed by any of them, all hot and very tasty. Especially like the salt & pepper chips with onion and green pepper. Definately recommended!

We rang a tried to order a delivery to Overseal. First question: Have you rang the right place..Obviously Yes...Its a £4 delivery charge. Wow what a awful attitude towards a new customer. We spent £43 at Fortune Garden Instead. And it was spot on.

Used this place many many times and always had great service and great food.Tonight however, took them an hour and 20 minutes to deliver 2 curries which were cold when we opened them accompanied by cold rice and cold chips.When I rang to complain, the horrid woman on the phone said it was my fault that i lived too far away and i should order from somewhere more local in future.I live literally 7-8 minutes max.Very disappointed. This woman should be sacked.

Food was mediocre, in fact the chow mein was tasteless. I don’t think I would return here. Please also note that it is cash only, something I didn’t realise so then had to hunt down a cash point machine!

Okay,so brutally honest review.The woman on the phone is incredibly rude and rushes through your telephone order. She is neither the owner or manager, she just likes to think she is as she speaks the most English. She lies and says orders are with the driver when they aren't. Feel your food when it arrives - red hot.!! No way has it sat in the drivers car over an hour. Week day deliveries are always quicker. Friday's and Saturday's are exceptionally busy which goes a long way to suggest the food is nice. 1 - 1.5 hours is usual waiting time for your food to be delivered on these days, regardless of what she tells you over the phone. I've known orders to take 2 hours to arrive.The chefs are very polite and smiley, their food is amazing, best I've tasted from a local takeaway in a while. They do sometimes make mistakes on orders but are usually fair in sorting it out quickly.This should be a five star review but the woman on the phone/counter is what knocks it down for me. Not a pleasant person at all.!!All in all I would recommend the food, just depends on if you can get past the rudeness when ordering I guess.

Me and my family always go to this Chinese, our order is always wrong and the staff are very rude over the phone, the manager wasnt pleasant to speak to, and she is losing customers, the manager argued with us, saying she was right, but yet she wanted us to pay for food that we’d already paid for. Our food was cold, and not very nice at all, not one apology for any inconvenience that she cause. Not going there again. Rude staff, cold food, not what you want for a Saturday night takeaway. Disgusting!!

A friend sent me the name of restaurant, so I called to make a booking and was shocked by the way the lady spoke to me over the phone. She was so much in a hurry to drop the phone on me and eventually did. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! NEVER USE!!

Best Chinese around, food is always cooked fresh to order and is very good quality, not greasy like alot we have had, and the ribs are amazing! always busy and fast delivery service!

We rang up to make an order and the women on the phone was very rude and the communication was poor. They then sent the wrong order and when we rang up to explain this they simply refused to believe they sent the wrong order and wouldn’t do anything about it. Absolutely disgusting and the food we did get was cold and tasteless. I will not be using this take away again and advise people to go else where for there take away in future.

Very rude woman on the phone. Our order had a delay aswell. We had a huge order and they messed up one of our orders, when we called back they didn t apologise and kept assuming they sent the right one.

Service top class and food the best in the region. They are authentic and really know their stuff! As with most places, the busier they get the longer you wait - but the wait is more than worthwhile. As a surprise - try the "salt & pepper" chips - simply divine!

As a connoisseur of chicken chow mien. I feel inclined to inform you of the BRILLIANT noodle to chicken ratio. Last night I endulged myself in one of the finest chicken chow mains I’d ever eaten. Service was quick and we nipped over to the pub before hand. I must say it was a joy, I finished the whole thing and it was A M A Z I N G.

So been ordering from new world for a while which previously has been nice food and had no problems. Husband rang up tonight to for a delivery and the managers attitude was shocking. Now I get that you have bad days but when I rang back to discuss the matter all I got was yeah well you going to put a order in. my reply was no I think your attitude is disgusting. Her reply was ok thank you bye. Whatever happen to customer care I don't know.

Order and when I gave my address they commented oh my god that's 2-3 miles away then said so what do you want. We have ordered from here loads as wife likes it although I prefer somewhere else but after this rudeness we will never go again. they always know who you are as they store your number and address but as I have a new phone they didn't have my number. We've ordered loads in the past but now am done.

Delicious food and servings are plentiful. Cannot wait to sample some more of the menu!Kitchen and waiting area both clean and welcoming staff. Would definitely recommend!

We have been travelling back to Burton-on-Trent for our chinese takeaways after a few bad ones in the Swadlincote area, then someone recommended New World. We took the risk and are glad we did. Lovely chinese and delivery is always really quick. would recommend.
