I am sorry to write this review as I really do like to support local business but the food was very bland and tasteless. I ordered a number of dishes and all of them had no flavour.

Moved to the area and I’d say this one of the best here ! Quite cheap too !

These are my opinions and you should always make you own choices. The meals are always hot, delicious and very tasty. Second time here for supper, we have to be careful as my wife has allergies. Great value, excellent portions. If you like Chinese, I definitely recommend New Hong Kong.

Quite frankly the worst take away I have ever had. The crispy chilli beef had a chemical flavour and was inedible. Everything else we had (Singapore noodles, beef in black bean, prawn toast, Kung po chicken) was greasy and disgusting, we couldn't eat it, please avoid this place like the plague

Food: very dry and bland. Small portions, unless you ask for large. Not the worst, but not the best Chinese. Very dated. Thank you

Best Chinese, won’t go anywhere else, been coming her for over 30 years. Friendly staff, amazing food. Fridays and Saturday can take a while to get through on the phone because they are so busy, that speaks volumes.

Little gem of a take away. Note can only pay cash so come prepared! Cash machine at Sainsburys on opp side of road. Downside can be very busy Friday and Saturday because they are well lived so sometimes have trouble getting through to place order and be prepared to wait a little for food. But well worth the wait :D Chow Mein and their ribs are particularly nice

Carer who work in the area. Good food also. I had been a loyal customer for over 2years ordering every single day literally 6days every week minimum of £80 every single week . Had incident I had to go home early during work after pre ordering my food a day before but couldn’t collet the lady always on front desk asked that I have to pay for the food I didn’t collect otherwise she wouldn’t serve me again. Poor customer service I think

I've been using this takeaway for 25 years it has to be the best for price quality and service just a shame no delivery service or card payments available but saying that wouldn't go elsewhere.

The food is always tasty, all my kids love the food and the staff are amazing. My family have been eating here for over 20 years. I started going here as a kid and now my kids ask for it all the time.

Best Chinese takeaway in loughton by far.

This is the best Chinese in the area, & is so reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, super efficient & every single time I go here I am never let down by the great quality. Highly recommend.

Something very odd about this place. Does not take card payment, only cash. Tax fiddle? Doesn't deliver or want to be on any of the regular apps it would appear. Is almost impossible to get through on the phone and takes an age to make it if you go in. They need to get with the modern ages.

I havent been living in Loughton long this is the best Chinese I have had the lady Kirsty who takes the order is such a lovely friendly and very good at her job I will defo recommend to everyone it’s so quick and the food is amazing you have to try the Singapore noodles the best I have ever had

Its a shambles...you can never get through on phone n so you can't pre order for a pick up....and when you order in shop you have to wait an hour....avoid is my recommendation

Avoid at all costs worst Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had. It was disgusting especially for a Saturday night takeaway all the food was dry and tasteless A waste of £35.00. I do not recommend this Chinese takeaway.

We only had the chance to eat from here twice, unfortunately, before we had to leave Loughton, but it was enough to absolutely recommend it! Good flavour, great Chao Fan and Prawns, super affordable prices and good portions. Really nice people, too! The walk there was always worth it!

If you are looking for a great place to get a Chinese takeout, then look no further. I have just eaten they best Chinese food and believe me I have had a few. You can call ahead and order your meal you are told how long it will be and the food is ready exactly on time. When you get there to collect your food I found them extremely helpful and very friendly. I have to drive to get there passing another Chinese take away but it’s well worth it.

I was recommended by a friend to get a take away I travelled from Enfield never had such a bad Chinese in all my life £38.50 Down the drain it’s was absolutely disgusting noodles all dry rice hard and cold crispy duck was chewy and stale it literally went in the bin never will I eat there again

Pretty good, was a touch slow but the conversation is good so I didn't mind the wait. Great price, chilli beef could have been a touch spicier and/or with more sauce. But otherwise was very good

I was very much unhappy with the food I ordered the pancake rolls were absolutely disgusting had one bite through away I asked for chicken balls and got chicken in batter, same thing through away will not be going back again.

We are not great fans of Chinese takeaways but this is definitely one of the better ones. The menu is extensive and the order was taken with care and efficiency. The meal arrived within the time frame and it was hot and the order was as described. The meal tasted ok and everyone was generally satisfied.

I love this place. Food is always good, service is always quick and friendly. The price represents good value. Bespoke orders never seem to be a chore. Have been a regular here for over 7 years. It's cash only and they don't deliver. How busy they are speaks for itself!

My favourite Chinese takeaway. They do the best pancake rolls.

This was my first time there and it will most likely be the last. Put in a fairly large order and when received the food was barely lukewarm. The beef was very chewy and actually lead to jaw ache. Goodness knows what type of meat that was. The prawn balls were mainly batter. This was the same for the Kung Po king prawn, all the prawns seemed mushy, small and overcooked. The staff didn't seem to be that friendly, no, 'good evening', or 'thank you' for your custom. Not even a free bag of prawn crackers was given for the amount I ordered. Usually with other Chinese takeaways this is the norm rather than the exception. I thought I'd have a change and try a different Chinese takeaway in my local area and I really wish I hadn't. Now I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth, a hit to my pocket and a half empty bottle of antacid.

Best chinese in town, only downside is you have to go to collect it yourself. You can preorder your food half hour before it opens by phone, they will give you a rough estimation on how long your order will be, and it is ready by the time you go get it, still hot in those little containers which are reusable.

Good honest tasty Chinese food and great value. Never disappointed and the staff are always friendly. Here's a tip - if you want to avoid the queues, you can phone through your order and arrange to collect it.

This was our first takeaway from here. It was very busy and we had to wait over half hour once we ordered. You have to collect don’t think they do delivery. Food was hot and ok. I’m not a massive fan of Chinese but my family all enjoyed it.

This Chinese is what I would call a New York style Chinese. Superb noodles, great tastes and flavours and good value for money. Been going here for years and always very busy! Shame they don’t deliver!

They do a wicked salt and pepper chicken here and they are fair on price aswell I recommend trying it out Yum yum

We’ve just waited 35 minutes for X2 soups Singapore noodles Curry sauce Prawn roast To then get home and everything was cold other than the soups, called to tell them and the lady reply’s “ we are just busy tonight”no sorry or offers to replace the cold items, NOTHING!! So terrible.....

Always the food is delicious and hot and order correct which is a bonus when u get home! Prices are very competitive but only downside they don’t deliver.

This is my local Chinese and I have it 3times a week. It is perfect and the Bbq sauce special fried rice and king prawn balls is just so tasty.

Tried this place for first time as a change from Wo Fat..but now i know why Wo Fat are so popular. The food here was very fatty. I had sweet and sour pork....pretty much pure fat and threw it away. Rice was so very tasteless and threw it away. I also. Had a pancake roll and it was just a greasy mess full of bean shoots. The sauce was like water and not enough to even cover the pork / fat. Never again...and i paid nearly £10 for that!! They saw me coming..never again. Wo fat are cheaper and better but i just don't like going there.

We always use New Hong Kong as the food is good and it's very very reasonably priced. The downside is they are not open everyday but hey that's gym day ha ha.

Stopped off for a new year's treat. Hadn't been for a while as the food had been getting bland. But was in for a pleasant surprise. The flavours are now back to their all time best. Descent portions and good prices. Well worth the wait even if it is freezing in the shop. Down side, they don't take checks or cards, cash only and no delivery.

We have been using this Chinese takeaway for decades. I love it! It's shut on a Tuesday and I so hate it if we have to go somewhere else. In fact I would rather go without.

The best Chinese shop in Loughton there beef curry is gorgeous.

Nothing special but not bad. Crispy shredded chilli beef is bland. There is no sweet and sour chicken balls but Hong Kong does offer battered chicken strips. Slightly greasy. Sauce are only half pots. Portions not generous. Prawn crackers are not offered with each meal but are an extra £1.20 You must buy these as the prawn crackers are excellent. Chicken curry is very good. Chowmein is very good. Rice good. Chicken and cashewnuts have lots of sliced pepper. Very good. Bbq sauce poor. The price for the area is cheaper than most.

I have been using this takeaway for over 40 years (OMG I feel old). The menu is standard for Chinese takeout but the quality is consistently good and you can tell this from the queues on a Saturday night.

I have been a customer here for 18 years. It's a good inexpensive takeaway. Ignore the haters.

Last time I went to the NHK was 2yrs ago, which was a mediocre experience. Made a bad mistake of ordering a takeaway last night after going to the theatre. Cucumber in crispy duck soggy and off, mixed starters were deep fried frozen rubbish. Ribs were cold . Duck was not on the bone and pre-chopped. Should have walked out as soon as we saw it was empty Avoid....

Had king prawn in vegetables . Overdone prawns and loads of bean shoots as Veg 2 carrots very poor plate was full of water . Pancake roll only bean shoots basically all there was was bean shoots.

Used to always use Wo-fat, however although tasty the prices were not reflective of the amount of food you were given.. New Hong Kong offers tasty food at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit, they always accommodate any special requests when you order....

All of my food was plain! I ordered the bbq ribs that had no flavour, Satay chicken that had no hint of peanut butter. Then the rest of the food was bland.The portion sizes for the price I paid were discusting and the woman who answered the phone sounds like you have just woke her up.This is not a place I would recommend l.
