Just ordered from here without ever trying it before. I can see a few negative reviews on here but please ignore! I live in the city centre and have access to so many restaurants and this is by far the best takeaway we’ve found so far! Everything arrived really fresh even though it had travelled a distance and the food was all delicious! Great portion sizes, value for money and flavour! Will definitely be back. Salt and pepper ribs are so hard to find and they’re my absolute favourite!

Used to be our go to place. Food is great but now orders through uber eats get cancelled. And orders through the website never show up. Had to chase after an hour and ahalf of waiting and the phone line is unavailable.

Ordered on Uber eats - as food was due to arrive 45 minutes later my order got cancelled with no explanation and my card was still charged £50+ with no information on refunds, so can’t even reorder from elsewhere. Shocking

I am never ordering from the again. I placed my first order with them on UberEats, over 1h later they showed up and clearly lie on the estimated delivery time. I had to cancel the order with Ubereats customer service. Again tonight, I thought id give them Another shot because the food was decent and 1h15 later still no food, again had to cancel. They live over the phone if and when they pick up, even Ubereats could get through to them. Avoid if you can.

My favourite chinese restaurant. I used to order from here via Uber Eats at least once a week. But sadly on Uber Eats the restaurant had set their own delivery driver and since then I can't place an order as the app shows "Too far too deliver" ☹️ Distance is only 2.5miles (Deansgate). Increase the miles of your deliveries or go back to Uber Eats riders please 🙏

Ordered through Uber Eats. Food plentiful and tasty Driver took a while to get to me BUT this was due to roadworks. He kept me informed all the way and did his best to get the delivery to me as soon as he could!

Tasty food, I've had the salt and pepper chicken many times and it's delicious. Recently tried the beef in black bean sauce and satay chicken skewers - really good.

Ordered through their website, had no issues. Was apprehensive due to other reviews but took a risk and would definitely reorder from this restaurant. The house special in satay sauce was especially nice. :)

absolutely terrible place to spend your money, the soup literally taste like dogwater, and delivery took almost 2 hours.

I used to order all the time, the crispy beef was thin, tasty and crispy. The past two times I ordered they’d swapped the thin pieces for big chunky chewy bits of fatty beef. The first time i though it was just a bad order and bad luck as the 10000 times I ordered before that were perfect each time. But when it happened the second time…you’ve lost my loyalty. Very expensive too!

Ordered via Uber Eats, waited for delivery, was notified that food was on the way, they waited until closing time and then cancelled my order. Now almost half ten at night without my meal. Avoid these guys if you enjoy actually receiving your meal.

Unbelievably disappointing. I genuinely don't understand the 5 stars. Of the four dishes I ordered, 3 of them were inedible. The salt and pepper crispy squid was tasteless and revolting - the squid tasted of cardboard and freezer; the chicken chow mein was too salty and the texture was wrong; and the chicken gyoza was undercooked and cold in the middle. The only dish I ate and enjoyed was their home made chicken spring rolls, which were tasty and piping hot. Absolute waste of money.

Avoid ordering from here, thought I’d give it a go since my usual Chinese was closed and it was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had! Save yourself order somewhere else

Food never turned up. Waited over 2.5hours. Called numerous times for updates. Eventually answered and said “oh it’s on the way” after asking for loads of details to find the order. Clearly forgot. Then lied and said it was on the way. 40 mins passes by and I have to chase up where order is as it’s a 5 minute drive. They then claim to have delivered it to someone using my name which is impossible and a lie. The delivery driver also never once rang me or text to say he was there? Then they claim it has been delivered to me and I’m lying😂. What they don’t realize is I have CCTV at my apartment block and I have ZERO reason to lie. The woman on the phone (owner) was disgustingly rude and tried screaming at me and my girlfriend. Not sure who she thinks she is. Extremely unprofessional and her attitude won’t get her very far in life. I will be taking legal action for my refund as I have the cctv footage to prove the order was not delivered to me, I’m out of pocket and never received my order. Never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional and disgusting company in my life. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Absolute JOKE of a takeaway and even more of a joke was the way they spoke to us regarding an order that THEIR driver gave to the wrong person. Never mind the fact we had been waiting 2 hours for the food. It then got delivered to someone who wasn't us which led to the rude incompetent staff putting the phone down on us when we were trying to find out where it was.

This place is so consistently great that it genuinely was a contributing factor in extending my rent for another 6 months. Such good value that I usually get something for the next day too!

Offers oriental Chinese food, used to serve as a restaurant but due to COVID they only offer take aways. They are very serious when it comes to COVID as you can see the reception lay out is covered all over. Good food

Best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Fresh, taste delicious and had good flavour.

Just waiting to place my order, decided to read reviews, don't listen to the negative posts. I never order via apps or delivery services I go on their own website, never had a late delivery, in fact usually early, drivers are always nice and food hot when it arrives. I have tried many different Chinese takeaways in Manchester and this is the one I return to, the food is great, really tasty and any comments about what dietary requirements I have are always taken care of, portions are also really good. If you have problems with a delivery like just eat complain to them not Gi Foo.

The only Chinese in the area I go to, No idea what the complaints are about. I used to order every week for 3 years straight and never had 1 single problem. Maybe try ordering direct with the restaurant rather than use Apps that rip us all off, consumer and business alike. Wish I could give the place more stars.

Placed an order with Uber eats at 6:40PM Sunday. Uber Eats showed estimated delivery as 7:40PM - 8:00PM. A long wait, but I understand that Sunday evenings are busy. At 8PM (nearly 1,5hr after placing my order) my order status is still showing as 'being prepared' so I called New Gi Foo directly. They found my order and said 'will take another twenty minutes before ready'. Then add onto that the extra time to deliver it and we are talking two hours. I said this is not good enough, i've waited over an hour already and it was an estimate that the restaurant provided. Her reply 'I can cancel it'. I did cancel the order. What a JOKE. They give you false information on how long your order will take then when you ask where your order is they tell you wait TWO HOURS for a simple meal or cancel it. Shocking. AVOID.

GiFoo? More likely to call it GiPooo! Crispy noodles arrived in a raw state, lemon chicken dish was cut chicken pieces with a slice of lemon on the side. Besides that, the food arrived late. Pathetic! Just wait until Gordon Ramsey finds out about this.

I give it 5 stars because. Its clean. The owners are very anti covid. Its blocked off by thick clear plastic and payment is made through the plastic. Santising station is available which I made use of and it has deep comfy chairs. It's my first time in. I ordered the food and I waited about 10 minutes. If that much. The food was quick hot and fresh. Plus I was given a free prawn cracker. Something i hadn't eaten in about 3 years. That was a little treat. I always buy the same thing as am a picky eater. I dont eat certain meat. Especially pork. So am always careful where I buy food because I often buy chinese take away and find bits of pork in it which always makes me feel disgruntled. The meal was for 2 people and i ordered 2 portion of egg fried rice 2 portion of vegetable spring rolls 2 portion of salt and pepper chips and 1 portion of salt and pepper wings. The chips were large and clean done in fresh oil and was golden colour it had fresh peppers and onions and carrots. It was not pepper. If you are afraid of chillies this is a must have. You get 4 spring rolls in each portion. The spring rolls are cooked well and packed with much tasty filling and cooked to a lightly crisp colour and not burnt. You get 7 pieces of large chicken wings in each portion. Withbrhe same topping as on the chips except you get more of it. There is no fiery peppers to make your eyes water. If you want that you may have to add your own or ask for it. The egg fried rice was egg fried rice and free from any meat trace. Yeah!!!! Now I realise that this chippy New Gi Foo Chinese take away. Gives you a large portion size. So for the future I can order 1 portion of large egg fried rice 1 portion of spring rolls because there is alot it definitely serves 2 people. The spring rolls are well made. They accept credit card payments. And this is the reason I stopped because my husband showed me the place at 1730 and I said I wanted to go my favourite place. My husband said our place dont take credit cards. So I stopped and am well impressed and I will be going again. The Young chinese lady speaks good english with a Chinese accent. She is clear and repeats to make sure she gets the order right. The New Gi Foo is right by the junction of stretford road/Seymour grove/by the traffic lights 1 minute walk from the tram stop. It has a few parking spaces outside. The traffic light coming out is always on red and does not change. So make sure you check the road is clear of traffic b4 you emerge and dont wait for the light to change. Or you will be a sitting duck.

Awful food. The cucumber that comes with the aromatic crispy duck was yellow and not fresh! The bag the food came in, leaked and was covered in sauce. The salt and pepper chips and chicken were bland. Prawn crackers had a weird funny taste. Chicken udon noodles were very chewy and not good. Would not order again!

I've been ordering from here for the past couple of years while I've lived in Salford, and it has consistently been amazing quality in every respect. I have Chinese takeaway a lot as it's my favourite food, and I've lived in various places around GM, and I can say this is easily the best Chinese takeaway out of any I've had. The food arrives hot, and while it's been late delivery a few times during busier times, they also make up for it by being really speedy ahead of estimated delivery at other times, which is more than I can say for other places. The chips are crispy and thick, never soggy, and things like the mains (e.g. sweet and sour chicken) are never just meat pieces in a watery sauce - it's a thick, delicious sauce with nice chunks of mixed veg. You get a lot of variety, and portion sizes are incredible for the price, usually enough to make leftovers (at least for one person like me). I may be moving soon so might be too far away to order from here anymore, but just want to say thanks to the GiFoo people. Ordering from here is always the highlight of my week and genuinely cheers me up, and is probably the thing I'll miss most about living in the area. Thank you so much GiFoo, keep up the amazing food.

A place like this all at once..... It doesn't surprise you with anything

Worst delivery experience of my life. The driver was aggressive and verbally abusive to me and my flat mate, literally screaming at her in the street which i could hear 4 stories up inside the flat, all because he didn't want to 'leave at the door' which were the instructins on uber eats. Poor service doesn't even cut it. If this hates his job so much he should just quit. What an embarssing ordeal. Wish i could get -0 stars. Please save your money and try other takeways with better food and nicer staff. Won't be supporting a business with this kind of work ethic again.

Worst chinese takeaway ever. Food is bland, tasteless hardly any seasoning at all. Salt and pepper crispy beef is so dry and crunchy it seems like there is no beef in there. Salt and pepper chicken is also small, dry and chewy, doesn't taste fresh at all. Salt and pepper chips are an absolute joke!!! Clearly oven chips with some salt and sugar and a few meagre slithers of onion thrown in for fun. Soft noodles with beansprouts are also bland and stodgy. Egg fried rice the same. Devastated isn't even the word. How they can charge such prices for such bland greasy freezer food is beyond me. Definitely do not recommend!!

Really good service and great food, probably the best Chinese food for miles around. The staff are always super friendly and the food is always very fresh and really full of flavours. Excellent choice of drinks too. Overall great value too and a very comfortable place. We have also had orders delivered, always the same high standard and always on time!

I've been looking for a decent Chinese take away in Manchester for months now and finally found it. Everything tasted fresh and had great flavour. This will now be my go to place. The hot and sour soup is as good as any I have had, as was the mixed platter and singapore fried rice. Very friendly and helpful staff as well (including the delivery driver). It took an hour to get from Stretford to the city centre and was well worth the wait.

Never ordered from Gi Foo before. Used just eat and ordered on early evening. Notification that was going to take 2 hours, which was fine as I know it’s busy. Surprisingly was 1/2 hour early which was great ! Food was good. Hot and sour soup very nice. Will be ordering from there again.

I liked the look of their take-away menu, and so when some friends and I had a get together, we took a chance and ordered some dishes. They were all delicious! Really lovely food, well cooked and very tasty. We had the prawn toast, spring rolls, prawn gyoza, salt and pepper tofu, vegetables noodles, mixed meat Szchechan style, rice, etc... And I would happily recommend all the dishes, the tofu was my favourite. Everyone should be getting their Chinese take-aways there! The only difficult feature is the parking - it is on the very busy Stretford Road, and though you can park in the front, it is awkward to get into, and it's not obvious that you can drive through. There is also parking at the back, but it's not signposted. Persevere though! It's worth it!
