New 8 in Clackmannanshire

Ordered a takeaway from here first time ordering from here and it’s was very poor! Hubby had chicken Maryland and was dry and banana fritter etc was in same bag as the chips! Chips were awful! My meal was king prawn curry / fried rice and curry tasted like was full of sugar! Never order again from here!

Wanted a Chinese meal having moved into the area and googled alloa Chinese. Trip advisor listed as #1 so I read some reviews and although there were a couple of poor scores I went with the general consensus. How I wish I hadn't. Simple beef curry was tasteless and goodness knows what kind of beef they use but it was thin sliced like kebab meat. As for the chicken balls and curry sauce we ordered the curry sauce was 1st opened and tasted really nice so I was optimistic for the whole meal however the chicken balls were burnt and dry. Looked as though they had been pre cooked and refried. Why someone would send these out I dont understand as you could tell as soon as you looked at them. All I can say is I wont ever buy from here again.

Excellent Chinese takeaway. Not much more I can say than that. Been a few times recently as in the area regular and it's as good a Chinese as I've encountered.

This is our usual Chinese Takeaway, we were so happy that after an extended ( 4 week) break the New 8 is open again. The meal deal is still worth the value but a must is the Chicken Chow Mein with Satay sauce with extra chillies. The portion size is huge and tasty is not the word. Try it out.....the building doesn't look much but the food produced is a cut above anything in this area.

First time trying New8 a read some reviews before trying it. A got a chicken curry and the Mrs got a special curry and we both loved it. The sauce for the curry was sweet normally a canny stand that but this was good a would Defo recommended. Well done New8

Ok so who really knows any restaurant that can deliver perfection. Singapore Rice very fresh good content and variation of meat, prawns and veg, clean but as per past comments could have done with more seasoning but not a deal breaker for now. Beef Szechuan plenty of beef helped to add taste to the rice, just lacked that pizzazz you were looking for As per past comments staff very helpful and friendly delivered in good time. Hope the restaurant reads this and just makes some small changes to the seasoning as the ingredients are clearly fresh.

I ordered from new8 for the first time last night. I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received. I ordered the salt and pepper chicken with rice and chips and curry sauce. Food was really nice and delivered still very hot. The delivery driver was very pleasent to.

Last night we decided to try new 8 for a change, never again, my partner had Prawn Chow Mein and she said it had very little taste, i had the vegetable Szechuan style with chilli, really, this has to be the most tasteless food i have ever had, my partner tried it and said it has NO flavour at all, i phoned the place to tell then about the food having no taste to be told that this is one of the more popular dishes, really!!!!!! my recommendation is to give this place a miss BIG time. Tasteless, tasteless, tasteless.

When my usual chinese wouldnt answer the phone i tried new 8 instead. So disappointed, the beef with green pepper and black bean sauce was tasteless with very little sauce. I'll stick to the asian cottage in clackmannan in future its amazing!

Friend ordered food from here before as he recommended it. Was really good and very tasty. Worth the money. Staff were very friendly and helpfull

Great menu, good food, salt and pepper chips are the best in the wee county. Delivery can be a bit long as it's so popular but worth it

Having had delicious, freshly prepared take always in the past, this meal was disgusting. What should have been crispy shredded beef was chewy with a slime covered film. The fried rice was awful. Will not be going back. AWFUL

Not impressed soup was ok but the main meal chicken with cashew nuts very few nuts more veg will have to think about when I phone again

Ordered here for the first time today after waiting for almost two hours before cancelling from another place. I phoned and asked how long the delivery would take and was told 45 mins to 1 hour. I placed my order and within half an hour it was at my door, roasting hot & order was perfect. I'll know for next time to ask for no veg though as it is thick and chunky! The lady I spoke to on the phone is a total credit to the team. She understood that I'd never ordered from here before and wasn't sure what I was asking for but she did listen to what I said and eventually we got it all sorted! Thanks so much. I'll definitely be ordering from here again!

Got two chicken curries,spare ribs and prawn crackers ,was delicious, highly recommend this .This in my opinion is the best Chinese in Alloa

Picked a meal up from here after hearing it was good was slow service then food was good enough,but ordered delivery waited hour & half, then only half the meal arrived. Phoned them was told sorry they would send driver back out & would get free meal next time (fair enough) waited another 1hr half then called . Oh they said thought u weren't wanting it and if they had to send out weren't getting free meal next time absolute joke . Now hearing this is what it's regularly like so if u want to waste ure time & money order away .

just received a delivery from this place. was meant to be chicken but what can only be described as jelly. chips are ok but food is greasy bland with no taste. waste of money a would avoid this place totally

The best Chinese food in Alloa. Freshly cooked with real ingredients. Tasty and not greasy at all! Highly recommended.

Nice chinese food in general but dont like their lemon chicken.sauce was not lemon - it was sweet and sour! urgh

After trying most of the Chinese takeaways in Alloa and surrounding area this is by far the best. The salt and pepper chicken is brilliant., the curry sauce is amazing

Great variety on menu to suit everyone. The salt and pepper squid are to die for! and something different. Everyone in the family loved the meal. It was ready quickly, hot and delicious. Will always be my first choice!

Would not use again. Customer service shocking 2 and 1/2 hours for a delivery not good enuff. Delivery due 8pm phoned at 7.51pm and asked if we could pick it up!!! "Manager" a joke sounded like a 12 year old. First and last time using this service and take away!

Like other places, Alloa has more than its fair share of takeaways but the New 8 in Hill Street has become our first choice for Chinese food. Service is good, food is great, and is handed over the counter piping hot.

Have ordered a few times now and the food has always been fantastic tasting, good sized portions and always arrived hot. I love how at New 8 Chinese they use a wider variety of vegetables in the dishes and it's nice to be able to order Malaysian style dishes and I personally recommend trying the Malaysian satay - best satay sauce you will ever try.This is now my main takeaway and I would never dream of ordering from another Chinese again.

Dropped by on Thursday evening after work and again had a wonderful meal, my wife and I share a single meal and it always is enough to share. We have had a meal from the New8 on a few occasions now and this little takeaway never fails to hit the spot.Will be back again in the future.

i only live around the coner of this and its amazing the chips are so good the fried rice and curry sauce and bbq amazing people start coming here mmmm

Hi there, this is our local take away and the food is amazing. Husband even has them on speed dial on his phone. The range of western and Asian foods on the menu is great and their salt and pepper prawns are legendary.
