New Hong Kong in Clackmannanshire

If this is the best Chinese Alloa can do, not impressed. Lovely reception and friendly service but: Szechuan king prawns was bland, mushy, generic MSG defrosted puree, nothing spicy or authentic about it. Chicken balls were just battered chunks. Dull, tasteless. This ain't Chinatown. Not going back. Sorry.

Waste of money first fork full had a bone in it which in my opinion is a choking hazard, Curry sauce tasted burnt and rice was big hard lumps it's now in the bin where it belongs, The quality of the food these shops churn out needs monitored more closely than they do.

This is by far the best Chinese in Alloa

Decent menu, food delicious but additional extras (chips, fried rice) a bit steep.

Staying at a local campsite and decided to try the Hong Kong and was presently surprised. Good quality food

Had the b menu for 3 . All dishes were very nice. Came to this dish which we found out was supposed to be the "shredded beef in honey chilli sauce it was... inedible, slimy and grisly we could not cut it with a knife. Will not be ordering from this takeaway again...

Really nice. Quite expensive, but really nice.

Pros; chicken was crispy, nothing was soggy, everything was hot, good spring rolls and free prawn crackers. Cons; satay sauce was unbearably sweet and watery, salt and chilli chips were undercooked and bland. Delivery guy came through the back gate saying he tried calling but we had no missed calls. Quite rude!

Only got chips but waited like 25minutes.

Food excellent, service first class, especially as was pretty busy.

Ordered after entering, not long to wait. Food was excellent, best in Alloa. Very clean.

Hong Kong is a well established takeaway, producing great food whatever it is, quick and pleasant service also.

Please note I would never leave a negative review like this unless warranted. Never have I ever experienced food so bad. Looked nothing like anything I’ve experienced before. Beef pale in colour and zero flavour zero sauce. Disgusting and I’m starting to feel My stomach churn. Save your money and go somewhere else. I only went here as it had a number of stars on just eat and a hygiene rating. I wish I checked trip advisor first.

Ordered for 6.30 on just eat. Had a work zoom at 7pm. It turned up at 6.45 I'll let the pictures of the "honey sauce schrispy chilly beef" do the talking Absolutely rank and slimy and horrible. This is by far the worst review and take away I've ever had. Called and complained. Didn't want to know. Ended up in bin.

Sometimes good sometimes not so good 🍜

Ordered at 17:15, was given a 45 minute delivery time and received it at 18:02. Came exactly as ordered and was of excellent quality. Had the chicken wings in honey chilli sauce, Szechwan beef and fried rice. This is the third time I’ve used this restaurant and can’t fault their speed of delivery, quality of food and ease of ordering via the internet.

I have not used this takeaway for a while due to poor quality of food but l thought l would give it another try !!! Bad move !!! The prices are reasonable The quality is far from that !!! Again l was sorely disappointed ! I ordered Special Szechuan but it is beyond me what they sent me !! It looked nothing to what l have enjoyed for years from various different places . It was mostly veg !! Carrots , onion , green pepper you would need a map to find the meat in it plus what was there looked like it came out of a prepack from Tesco !! There was a bonus though !! There was one small king prawn !!! The sauce was like stirred cornflour and the colour of grey , very appetising !! Crap Chinese !!!

We have tried possibly every single Chinese in Alloa, Clackmannan, tilly, Alba etc untill we stumbled across this beauty! Delicious food I can always tell when something’s fresh and here the food is always fresh absolutely love this place! Try it u won’t be disappointed

I have been eating here for ages and they are honestly so friendly and quick at making my food. Best chicken fried rice and beef chow mein ever. Also, the prawn crackers are thin and salty which I love because a lot of takeaways do the thick and sweet prawn crackers.

We normally pick up from here but decided tonight to relax and have it delivered. I phoned at 18.24 to place the order, no mention that they were busy, phoned back at 19.44 to be told it was already on its way, phoned back at 20.13 to be told yes it was out for delivery and it had been out for over half an hour.....I know this makes us sound really lazy but we live less than 5 mins from the takeaway, if they had said they were busy when I called I’d have collected it. Obtw it’s not cool to not care if your customers are happy or not

Best of the Chinese carry-outs in Alloa. Best for portions, quality, speed, price and taste, other than their portion of mushrooms, which I buy elsewhere when I visit there. (Their's seem to be filled out with too many chunky onions and some kind of seeds), although that's only my humble opinion, if you like loads of chunky onions with your mushrooms, I'm sure you'll love them!).

I read some of the poor reviews, don’t believe it! We have enjoyed this restaurant for a number of years and will return! Food is great and always ready when we arrive. Just had dinner this evening, thanks to Hong Kong! Cheers!

Just had the most amazing chips n curry sauce! Best in the county, in my opinion.

Chow mein was nice. Sweet and sour king prawns too battery and the sauce wad a tasteless red gel. Prices as expected.

Phoned a order tonight for collection 5.30 was told 25 mins gave them 30mins then had to wait a further 45mins standing in shop I do understand your busy but why take so many orders knowing that the costumer service and quality of food is going to suffer We are giving a very high 3 stars as i felt so sorry for the young guy taking the flack for all the complaints he received in the time I waited VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED 😩😡

totaly disgusting got chicken curry the curry sauce was disgusting dark brown no spice to it tasted like a cheap 99p curry you would get in tesco in fact the ones in tesco were better had gut pains for about 3 days and still not right yet avoid avoid AVOID

Ordered from New Hong Kong tonight, which is the chinese takeaway we would usually order from and was told the delivery would be 40 minutes to an hour, which is to be expected on a saturday night at dinner time. However when i called back to see where my order was I was told that the guy on the phone had told my girlfriend that it would be an hour. Even if this was true, our delivery took an hour and a half to arrive, making us think that the driver had went to singapore to pick up our singapore noodles as opposed to Alloa. When I told the man on the phone that our delivery was well over the hour mark, I was told "oh, ill know what to do next time you call for a delivery". Aye well so will we, and so will my work colleagues as well as family and friends - we'll no be phoning New Hong Kong

Use this place quite regularly and usually find it super quick and of a good quality

Great food. Great receptionist ie girl from Sommerset. But del time. Crazy. Would actually stop me from ordering here.

Recieved the worst customer service i have ever seen from here at the weekend. Phoned up at 6.15pm to place an order for delivery to kincardine, a 10 minute drive away. The young man who took the order didnt tell us how much it was but we paid with card over the phone and he said it would be there as soon as possible. By 6.55pm i phoned back asking if its on its way and he said its in the bag waiting for the delivery driver to pick it up for the next round of delivery's. By 7.50pm - a full hour and half after ordering and a full hour after being told the food was ready and sitting i phoned back to cancel the order as i refused to wait any longer or to eat food that had been sitting for so long. Literally 10 seconds after hanging up the phone the food was delivered and my partner accepted it, not knowing that i had just cancelled it. The shop phoned me back a minute later saying theyve spoken to the delivery driver and was told its been delivered and i was like yeah it was literally 1 minute ago and reminded them that i had already cancelled it and want my money refunded. I was put onto a lady supervisor/manager/owner. I explained the situation and she said that it had been very busy on saturday evening. I acknowledged this and let her know that i worked in catering for the past 6 years and understand its going to be busier at 6pm saturday night but if the boy that took the order let me know it was going to be nearly a 2 hour wait for delivery i wouldnt have ordered. I said that i still wanted something done for the inconvenience and the lengthy wait time, explaing i had already cancelled and would prefer to still have my money refunded to go and get a freshly cooked dinner instead but the lady refused cause it had been delivered so i saod they can phone the delivery driver back (who had only left around 3 minutes before) and he can come and take it back so i can get freshly cooked dinner. She again refused and said that they will take my details and cook a fresh meal for me next time i order. I politely declined and said that i will not be ordering from this takeaway again due to this experience. She was trying to get me off the phone and was saying there was people waiting to order but this is not the priority when you have a dissatisfied customer on the phone. After the 6 years of working in catering i have spent 5 years in customer service and i know what good and bad customer service is. Again i asked for the delivery driver to come and collect the meal and refund my money to which she said again that she will cook the next meal freshly for me which i repeated again i won't be ordering from here again. At this point the lady actually hung up the phone on me. I am completely gobsmacked at this lack of respect, shocking customer service and complete ignorance to what i was saying. I was professional, polite and nice on the phone when i was speaking to her, so for her to hang up on me was completely unacceptable. I tried ringing back multiple times but i was unable to get back through so it seems that this is my only way to try and resolve this issue. Extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this popular takeaway.

Got chips curry sauce. Chips were reheated . Used to very good till it chanced hands. Best save your money and go some were else.

Treated myself to a takeaway. We called ahead for a collection a was told 20 mins , which was perfect,, place looked clean , few people waiting on their order, the young lassie at the counter was pleasant enough. Loads to choice from on the menu. We ordered, salt and pepper chicken, chips , curry sauce 1/2 chicken mushrooms with fried rice, we really enjoyed our meal, was reasonable priced, great portion size too! Will defo be back, and would recommend to family and friends. Very happy customer!!!

Me and my partner both got king snacks and they were fantastic great tasting food for a very good price and very quick service will definetly return

The New Hong Kong in Alloa does and has always served good quality, well priced Chinese food. It has been run by Joy and her family for at least 30 years (as long as I can remember). Always a friendly service and only to happy to adjust items if certain things aren't to your taste. Don't live there any more but always look forward to visiting family and friends and a chance to get some good Chinese food.

After about a year of money being tight we decided to have a Chinese takeaway for a treat. So no question asked we ordered from the new Hong Kong. We used to have such loverly takeaways from u. But tonight it was really bad. My chicken with beansprouts had a red juice with it hardly any beansprouts. Yuk even the dog would not eat it. Very greasy chicken balls. And as for the king prawn balls they were soft and gooey. New Hong Kong what has happend. We used to love ur takeaways but not any more will now have to go elsewhere. What a waste of £29 I've let us down no more suggesting ur shop to anyone.

Bright red, sweet, half cooked chow mein. Cold, wet prawn crackers. So disappointing, would never go back.

I've yet to find a decent Chinese takeaway in Clackmannanshire and the New Hong Kong is no exception. Bog standard menu, not very clean looking, food is nothing special. They've got the order wrong a couple of times as well. Not impressed, wouldn't recommend.
