Nefs in Stevenage

It was awful delivering we asked fir separately sauce and salad and they mixed everything together. Taste was awful and it was cold it was really bad food

Can I score zero ? Had food delivered by Uber but the food was inedible - way too much salt on everything to the extent that no one could eat it. Phoned them and was told They didn’t salt their food and that I was making it up. I asked for a refund and was hung up on. I drove to them and showed them the food at which point they told me I had to raise it with Uber and they walked away. My advice - don’t use this place because if the food is bad, you will only get insults.

I ordered a delivery from Nefs lastnight. We ordered our food with great difficulty due to the man on the phone not being able to speak very good English. He cuts the phone off twice which meant we had to ring back! An hour past and our food didn’t arrive so we rang the restaurant and they told us the money didn’t go through. When checking my bank the money went through. They didn’t ring us back to even let us know. We have them our order again, when the order arrived to the house we had to show proof we paid and the food was the worst we have ever experienced! The food was extremely oily and tasted life it has been left around for ages. I’m a regular customers and I’m so disgusted my this. NEVER AGAIN! Don’t recommend

Tonight I ordered from NEFS in Stevenage when I got my Order I realised it has green mould all over it ! My chips were Brown and so stale and old they wasn’t even edible! I also ordered fish fingers again they were stale and not edible ! I am so disgusted I have been sent mould on my bread ! Disgusting!

I work in stevenage and don't usually finish until late, so I just want something quick and easy when I get home. On the off chance I browsed on just eat and nefs was open, me and the lady thought why not a little treat as its been a terrible week for us both. The pizza we received was so good and so fresh! For this time of night on a Tuesday to produce the quality you have very very good!

Used to be my go-to takeaway but I went there in person a couple of times and the restaurant isn’t very tidy or appealing. I proceeded to look at their official food hygiene rating online and they are only 2/5. Sadly won’t be ordering from here until that is sorted

I usually don’t leave bad reviews but had to this time. Not familiar with the area so chose this restaurant for a takeaway, ordered a chicken doner wrap and my friend a 3 meat mixed. After the first bite it was incredibly salty. I only managed to eat half of it, did not taste good. Now we both have stomach issues, likely acute food poisoning. Wish I had read the other reviews before ordering!

Very disappointed. Hot chicken wings ? Very dry and luke warm . Lamb Donner wrap with salad, onions and garlic Mayo ? Were was the salad as stated ? Plenty of onions in one end of the wrap - no garlic Mayo at all . Ate some cause I was hungry and threw the rest away . Won’t ever order from them again - use to be lovely food from them but has gone completely downhill now .

Unfortunately we have not been able to finish our delivered food. The chicken was fairly dry but had a funny taste. Not sure if it's because it was fried in old oil and taking on the taste of anything that has been cooked in it or maybe something more sinister. Time will tell. Obviously we are very disappointed.

I ordered my food and was told it would take 10 minutes to prepare and was told I would be informed when it was ready. I waited outside the front of the place and was in view of the staff on duty but no one let me know. I went back inside after 15 minutes and had to try and convince the guy that served me that I had actually ordered some food. In the end one of his colleagues remembered me and pointed to my order which was waiting for me. My meal was OK but based on the service I received I would not go back there. Disappointing.

Never in my life have I thrown a takeaway in the bin after one bite. This was hands down the worst food I have ever eaten. Everything was swimming in grease. The chips were microwaved. Chicken wings were dry and the size of a baby’s toenail. Salad was brown and wilted. Asked for no onions - only had onions. Hot wings? Cold wings. They couldn’t even spell wings on their menu. ‘Wigns’. This place needs to be shut down. I implore that no one puts themselves through this. This wouldn’t even be satisfactory as a drunken kebab. You couldn’t pay me enough money to even attempt to digest this food again.

absoutely vile . Ordered quite a bit and well nothing good to say 1hr 40mins to arrive and undercooked pink chicken however the nuggets was cooked a bit way to much and rock solid.. The chips came as if still frozen hard and cold .they only nice thing to say is the trays came in grey lol .

My food was so over cooked the chicken strips were hard so disgusting The staff on the phone were rude as hell and wouldn't even send me q new meal after telling him that I was type 1 diabetic and had taken insulin before it turned up he was so rude over the phone fumning 🤬

We haven't ordered from Nefs before but as last local kebab was not very nice at all we thought we'd try.Glad we did as best donner kebab I've had in ages. We also ordered the mixed kebab roll and cheesy chips, all very enjoyable. Definately be ordering again.

On time, piping hot and delicious. 10/10. Amazing and now I am trying to use my 100 characters and am running out of the superlatives.

My wife had a burger and I had the fried chicken, I have had the chicken before and it was ok. Today it was a mess .. very greasy and not freshly cooked. My wife rang the restaurant to leave feedback not to get replacement (lost my appetite) or refund. Whoever she spoke to needs to go on customer relations course, we were offering genuine feedback and he was not having it. I said I would email photos to show how I received the chicken. He said do it on whatsapp and gave a number. I added the number to whatsapp and invited him. No response so far that’s why I am doing it here.

Very poor, staff don’t listen to you, how could you run out of kebab, utter rubbish. Never had such poor service, they didn’t care, just wanted to get you out of there.

Ordered for first time last week chicken donor wrap it was lovely not many places do chicken doner only chicken shish so was nice change , partner got peri chicken he loved his too ... ordered again tonight chicken donor wrap again just as lovely and fried chicken chips , chips weren’t soggy like most times from other delivery places and quick delivery good value for money deffo recommend

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered chicken kabab. It was mild to like warm and that’s being polite. Salad was browning lettuce onion a slither of cucumber and slither of tomato. Rude staff. Chicken thin tiny pieces wouldn’t be enough for a 4 year old. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Placed an online order, received a call shortly afterwards by the staff and was told to “go **** yourself!” which was quite a shock. I called the store back to question the phone call, apparently someone had called in and had an argument with the staff and somehow my phone number was brought into the equation after the online order. When the food arrived the portion size was tiny, I would have been more filled if I ate a mosquito compared to the kebab that cost £8 in front of me. Usually if a company tells you to go **** yourself by mistake after taking your money they may throw something in free, not this place. Will never order from here again, and I hope whoever called from here to threaten my family for no reason will get their comeuppance. Avoid this place like the plague!

Me an the wife visited nefs kebabs shop ad a lovely meal yea food was top notch great chicken sish kebab an rice the chef a gandoo was polite etc the owner munchy was welcoming etc . So ordered from here for lunch 2/3 days ago they mess up my order so I ring up to speak to manager and he was disrespectful and didn’t bring me a new order or anything just said he done what the order asked which was absolute b.s managers name munchy I went without lunch coz I spent my last bit getting a takeaway as a treat and this is how people get treated how ducking skummy asked for a bit of sauce and that’s how it come through shop needs inspectors going on there and shutting it down (munchy karma will be coming your way comet news papers being informed of all your poor ways)

Been craving some friend chicken so badly so came in and just got two pieces of chicken to take home, got home and the chicken was disgusting the skin was the most pathetic fried chicken skin I have ever seen and chicken inside was all brown and soggy

Ordered for the first and last time last night. The fries were soggy, and the chicken wasn't much better. In fact, it was only when I was halfway through one piece of chicken and the breaded coating was no longer there, that I realised the piece I was eating still had pink parts. None of it tasted fresh at all. It arrived way too quickly which tells you either undercooked or already prepared and kept warm. Never again.

It was my 2. try as everyone needs a second chance but I wont do it again. Old and dried out chicken with a sauce that has nothing to do with peri peri. I wont try this place a third time and it would surprise me if they are still trading in 2019

Initially loved Nefs, however each order has slowly deteriorated and we are no longer going to order from them. Today's delight was a small chicken shish kebab which I think may have been dropped on the floor prior to sending it out for delivery. Meat overcooked, presentation very unappealing. Shame used to be so good but standards have drastically slipped.

Food was undercooked, tasteless, staff was rude. They argued over undercooked food. Took long time(longer than it was cooked on first place) to cook it again. No ventilation.

Love nefs the charcoal taste is exsplosive very clean and great tasting food 10 out of 10 for me i have had salmon wraps from here b4 aswell and they r to die for not sure if they still do the slmon but my mouth waters just thinking about it

I have specifically signed up to TripAdvisor to write this comment. This is the third time I've been here, and each time it's the same thing: decent food, but absolutely awful customer service. Food does take a while to be serve, but it's tasty (albeit, lukewarm).

Most kebabs in Stevenage the meat is dry but this was moist and tender never been here before will be back

If you like your food fresh, this is the place for you. I had a chicken fillet burger, and the chicken was fresh and beautifully seasoned. Fresh salad and lovely fries to accompany it. Table service, which is a nice addition to a town eatery. Good value for the quality of food. I will definitely eat there again.

Use Nefs alot for take outs, very authentic and food has always been fantastic, and I always ask for something from the main menu for takeaway and they always do it for me. Great service, fantastic portion and great fresh food.

We have been ordering from here every time we have a take away since it pretty much opened. We have been so disappointed with our last 3-4 orders. One was even completely forgotten about and don't turn up. He did keep saying sorry on the phone, but not really good enough. We thought we would give them just one more try and it was just awful. We won't be returning any more. That's for certain. We are sure the ownership must be different? The man who used to always be there isn't any more. He was fantastic. Shame it's changed so much. Looking for a new kebab house if anyone has a recommendation ☝️not going nefs again!!!!

Ordered from Neffs last night had spicy wings and 8 portion bucket to have as dinner with my boyfriend and brother. Bit into a spicy wing and it was red in the middle. You could see the raw chicken. In the 8 piece bucket 5 of them were the same red or pink inside. Needless to say we threw all of it in the bin and hoped we were safe. Had a lucky escape. Wouldn't even feed the chicken to my cats. Just hoping we haven't contracted ecoli or anything nasty. I would include a picture but I'm not going through the bin.

First time ordering a take away from here. Will never order again. The food was disgusting. The chips were soggy, tasteless onion rings, popcorn chicken was like cardboard, the fillets tasted like flour. Most of it was inedible made us feel sick. Over priced disgusting food. Avoid at all cost!

Found out that Nefs have changed owner. That would explain our last meal not being as good. Everything came separate previously but not anymore. Food came in foam boxes so the bread was very soggy, so no difference from any other takeaway kebab

Unfriendly service but some good food (lamb was OK, chicken was great). They currently don't have Turkish tea or any kind of coffee...

Ate here a little while back one evening & the front doors which cover the whole frontage were open which made the restaurant very cold & uncomfortable.

Freshly prepared and lovely food. I was happy to try an halumi omlette, which I've never seen on a menu before. This came with a delicious fresh side salad.

Love this place. Not your average kebab joint at all. Lots of TLC in each dish and really higher quality marinated meat. The mixed kebab is a real favourite. The sauces don't taste mass produced and it's amazingly consistent.

Ive eaten here twice now. Had halloumi wrap with salad. Cheap and tasty. Served very quickly. Staff were very friendly.

I wasn't told how long it would take for my order to be served to me. I sat down waiting. The cook cooks infront of you. I thought he was cooking my meal but turned out to be someone else's. The next meal he cooked was for the next customer, and so was the next. I only popped in because I thought he was already cooking what I ordered. Because I had no idea when my meal would be finished (and I was on my own that lunch time) I should have been given an estimate. I could of had a 20 min stroll through the near by shops and come back to collect my meal.

Another great visit. This time we tried the wraps. One of us had halloumi and salad and the other had kofte. What great value - filled to the brim and both tasted delicious. Service is beyond good, really friendly staff who just can't do enough to help. Seriously cheap (two meals under a tenner!) but seriously good quality. Nice décor, with fully opening bi-fold doors at the front so nice and airy in warm weather. We've eaten here in the evening before but this is the first time we stopped for lunch whilst shopping and it was just a perfect choice!

Recently opened opposite Nat West - used to be a dowdy chippy, now a Turkish takeaway and cafe. Food is freshly cooked, and benefits from this - we ate for £12 between us. Friendly staff, hope they do well !

We have been looking for a quality kebab shop for a little while now and we stumbled across Nefs so decided to give it a go and we are really glad we did. 45 minute delivery on a Saturday night at 8pm so not to bad at all. The food arrived hot and was extremely flavoursome and perfectly cooked. Will be ordering from here again very soon.

Well we were recommended to Tey this place. Well I'm glad we did. We went in tor get a take away and it is all cooked fresh for you. Nice salads. When we got home well I've never tasted meat like it. I got the sish, It was so tasty. Chicken not dry. I will try the other things on the menu next time. They also do platters if there are a few of you. Didn't realise they delivered definitely ordering a take away. When we were in there he stopped taking orders for take away as they were so busy. So if your want a.take away order early.

Waited 1.5 hours for cold food. Jacket potatoe was microwaved and hard and kebab was do it yourself style with next to no filling. Chips were plentiful but cold and revolting. No extra like peppers or onions include. Total disappointment after such a long wait for delivery.

Five stars for the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Chicken shish was very nice indeed, good flavour, meat was not dry. Home made bread brought to start was delicious. We also had a vegetarian option of halloumi kebab, good sized portion at reasonable cost. Portion sizes were huge so we were too full to try the Turkish desserts - will definitely give them a go next time. Hoping they also start serving pide - which we love! Hope they keep to authentic Turkish food and do well.

Well I don't normally like kebabs, but saw some great reviews so decided to give it a go, and we were not disappointed.

If you are looking for a really good quality, authentic kebab in Stevenage, as we were last night - then look no further than Nef's! We ordered a mixed kebab - the meat was tasty, tender and beautifully cooked. The pitta, salad and sauce all come packaged separately so you can assemble it to your liking, and everything stays fresh - no soggy pitta breads from this place! And for me the best bit was the sides, they do halloumi, hummus, and a gorgeous garlic flatbread. This place is not your average kebab house! We will definitely order from here every time we fancy a kebab, and look forward to eating in the restaurant too, as this food really is special enough for a nice meal out. A very happy customer here

Just had a beautiful kebab here. Could honestly not fault it, and I find fault with most places! Big portions, lovely tasting, customer services very good, really not just your average kebab.

Ordered a delivery, not ordered before. Guy on the phone was very helpful, delivery arrived at the estimated time. Ordered Kofte & Lamb Doner. Food was excellent, all came separate so no soggy bread! Would definitely order again from Nefs

The food was so lovely. Fresh tasty and so reasonable in price. I had the halloumi shish it cane with salad of your choice roasted veg rice and a pitta. When it came it was huge so much more than I was expecting for £6 I had paid. The service was quick and the staff very welcoming. The presentation and taste of the food was wonderful. My mum is celiac and when we asked for that option there were no alternatives but the manager is looking into it and was very knowledgeable. Mum was able to eat there regardless. Felt very well looked after. The venue is clean and spacious. Comfortable seating. Would definitely go again.

I ordered a large platter and extra chips and it fed 6 of us no bother. the meat was nicely cooked and the order came earlier that the time given.

Always nice all meat and salads are all freshly made top kebabs in town and I use this place quite a lot a*****+++++++++++

Ordered from nefs earlier as bingol wasn't doing deliveries at that time. Bad decision. The kebab came in 3 different boxes. One for meat, one for salad, one for pitas. Then at the bottom of the meat box there was half a soggy greasy tortilla or something! Had to assemble the whole kebab on the plate! Chips were bit like cardboard, onion rings were good but you can't really mess up frozen onion rings can you. The meat wasn't great and was a bit cold as well, and the fat had settled at the bottom of the tin it came in, not great. Salad was rank and was swimming in some brown liquid (see pic)

Was keep trying to find nice kebab on just eat and once tried nefs... since that keep getting it from them. Prompt delivery. And very tasty. First kebab on Stevenage that i my stomach not strugling after eating it. ;)

I love to eat out with friends, often going to London for good food but now found somewhere closer to home that is just as good!
