Ned Kelly's Food Bar in Newry and Mourne

The food was fresh and flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Would highly recommend. 👍

Lovely food. Staff weren't sure about allergen information for certain food. Didn't know if there was dairy in the gravy and 1 staff told us the chicken doesn't contain milk while another told us it did.

Always considered this place as a good all rounder. Tonight I had cod bites and one battered sausage and one plain one. At £6.50 it is a very fair price and came reasonably quickly. As I said it is a good all round chippy. Bit hard to park but it's in a busy area.

As I say it is good all round. Not brilliant fish or large portions but probably in the top two chippys in Newry. I like cod bites and their sausages plain and battered. Prices are fair. So I will do recommend it.

Staff friendly and efficient. Most grease free fish supper we've had, all cooked when ordered, onion rings the same. We had passed Neds for years, we didn't know what we were missing.

Lively chips, burger party's little small but where delicious, defo will be back to try the fish and chip.

Best takeout in newry. Got a bacon cheeseburger and it was better than any restaurant. Try here and forget the rest

Battered sausages and a gravy chip - it hit the spot!

Long time since I was here. Ordered a fresh sea cod. Took about 10 minutes. Came served in a paper bag. Nice piece of cod. Batter ok but not brilliant. Few chips. At £3.90 good value. Clean,tidy and efficient as always. Recommended.

We've been calling here for years now, it's a great "chippy". Never a complaint. Not as "high fallutin'" as other prentious chippies, proper grub, and friendly staff.

Neds has been a family favourite from as long as I remember! Food is good quality and they cook to order which means it's always fresh! No rubbery chicken that's been overheated and over cooked. The prices are a little higher than other chip shops but I personally think that it's fair as this is a higher level of quality chip shop. Also the level of hygiene is brilliant and the girls who work there are very friendly and do their jobs well!

Fish and chip consisted of 8 chips .we phoned to complain and were informed this was correct!!!!! Very disappointing .

Place has been going for years and never changes good grub served fast and hot always a welcome stop when mum doesn't want to do the tea recommended by gererations

It's one of the local chippys that I tend to use most often.The food is always great you can't go wrong with Neds plus it's spotlessly clean and the staff are always friendly.

Wanted to get fish and chips for a number of us after visiting at the nearby Daisy Hill Hospital. This had been recommended to my sister in law and we were able to find it. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and efficiency. Clearly popular and we thoroughly enjoyed our carry out.

Great service and fabulous food every time. Food is always so crispy, fresh and tasty. Portions are of a good size. Recommend the battered cod and curry chips, the best in town.

Ned's has been around forever and is well used within the town. Good quality fish and chips, very low rate. Friendly staff.

best chicken kebab we ever eat. can eat them even 5 times a week sometimes. very nice staff and good organizations . all nice clean and fresh food. WE LOVE IT !!!

The chips, the sausages, the curry, the burgers - I LOVE this chippy, always good food at a great prices, service very friendly and quick.

Been a few times as it's handy on way home. Found the fish average. Too much batter. Portion average. I get fish goujons now as it's tastier and has six medium pieces of cod. Had chicken breast also. Not even a chip thrown in but it was tasty. Found the staff frosty unless they know you as they spend a lot of time talking to customers they know and ignoring orders even from others. But its handy and consistent. But not rubbish either.

Was expecting this place to have a bit of an Australian feel given the name but since it didn't I will review it as a chippy, which is what it is. It's very clean and the uniforms the staff wear are a nice touch. The good itself was undercooked and to be honest the serving size was too small for the price. I think you are better off trying the local competition to see what else is on offer before settling on this place. On the Ned Kelly thing he was a very famous Australian Bush Ranger so my expectation was some great Aussie food. Perhaps a nice pie or a decent hamburger with beetroot but oh well. Nuff said. Cheers
