For a hardcore South Indian food lover, this place is heaven. The quality of food is well above the rest as they were able to capture all the authentic flavours. My kids were simple blown away with the taste, texture and presentation of the benne dosa. Wish they could have a much larger and better location with parking.

We asked for waiting time, the guy pointed to a table that was going to be vacated. We specifically asked for wait time since I was pregnant, the guy said 10 minutes. We waited for 15 mins. Once the table emptied the guy gave it to another family. Such a jerk.

Delicious food, authentic taste, prompt service/delivery and attentive staff. What strikes you first is the simplicity of the restaurant, pictures of a visit from the Infosys founder hang proudly on the walls of this tiny place. The menu features some Bangalore classics and the chefs get the taste spot on! The benne masala dosa is a buttery crisp perfection and with just the right consistency and flavour for the filling. Masala dosa fillings are done easily at most places, but this MTR outlet gets it right. The Bisi Bele Bath would remind you of your Ajji/Paati’s cooking. Prices are decent, service at the restaurant is great and when we tried deliveries that’s come in promptly as well. Give this a try if you’re craving an authentic South Indian meal that would take you right back to your home. No photos taken because the food looks and tastes so good that it’s criminal to let the plate waiting while you get your phone out.

Thanks to LNER I was able to make this trip down South England to get this amazing authentic flavour of South India!! They have 2 branches, we went to the small one very close to Kenton station. This is no fancy eatery but a humble simple one with disposable cutlery, self-service and the food is absolutely authentic, amazing. Bangalore style dosas (not paper thin), rava idli (mtr specialty) and filter coffee (south indian style) is comparable to none. If you are looking for something authentically South Indian, Bangalore/Karnataka style, do visit and enjoy the taste! MTR as a brand has completed a centenary (100 years) in 2024.

We went on Friday evening to have our dinner. We ordered like 10 dishes. All of them have great taste. But I think the taste of Coconut Chutney can be enhanced or may be something is missing. Each and every item was served hot and waiting time was insignificant. Price for each item is less when compared to dishes in other restaurants. This is due to small portion size. So if you are super hungry, then 1 dish will not suffice. The atmosphere is not so vibrant, and there are only seating capacity for 14 to 15 people. Service was amazing. Hence in a nutshell 4 rating.

Without doubt the best dosas in London. As authentic as it can get. The rest of the assortment is also fabulously reminiscent of south Bangalore cuisine from the house of MTR. The outlet is run on a self service basis and is very congested. While I believe MTR have simply got their location strategy horribly wrong for the quality of their offering - both outlets parked in Kenton, Harrow side, lack of parking, put off high street location etc, the congested outlet felt very claustrophobic. MTR has a brilliant positioning and experience if you visit their outlets in Bangalore/Mysore but these ones are off the mark. The toilet in particular is a disaster - a closet the size of an adult and you can barely even move to close the doors behind you. This outlet must have been a take away counter as opposed to sit in. Having said, once again acknowledge the food is fabulous and self service works like magic with highly efficient and friendly staff.

Manager Jay was so rude when we asked them to make onion dosa for our kid. They had onion masala dosa and plain dosa in their menu but not onion dosa.We just requested them not to add masala so that kid can eat.The Manager said he cannot do that and he was so rude...Very unprofessional staffs. Manager stated that they are franchise restaurant and hence cannot do any menu customisation. It was not a customisation at all, we just asked them not to add masala on the dosa...Never again..Worst experience.

My wife and I are both vegan and were really looking forward to getting a taste of our favourite South-Indian delicacies at MTR Kenton. We requested that our dosas be made in oil instead of ghee and at the outset were rudely denied. The only options we were given were idli, Vada and puliogre. The owner kept insisting that the taste would be different if it was not made in ghee, and that they would not compromise on their 'standards' even if we as customers were happy to accept it. It was shocking to see that MTR disregards its customers and prefers to stick to what they call "brand-value." We were told that our preference is not as important as the brand. How pitiful they don't understand that Branding 1-0-1 is "Customer Satisfaction" and don't have the basic courtesy to treat customers with sensitivity. I cannot believe that in 2023, ghee, which remains a product of animal cruelty, can be the standard that makes or breaks a dish. In a place like London, where every single restaurant and supermarket has vegan options, It's appalling that a well known brand like MTR fails to even recognise or acknowledge this. Clearly, this is a franchise that is still living in the 1920s, and doesn't belong in present day society where kindness and inclusivity play a role.

MTR in London is second to none when it comes to Dosa idly and vada. Honestly unbelievable just how close, if not better than some establishments in bangalore, the food served here in MTR is. The vada is super crunchy and Masala Dosa delightful. MTR in London, just as it is in Bangalore, is an exceptional example that justly represents the food of the south Indian city. Any folks from Karnataka or those looking to get a taste of Karnataka/Bangalore should definitely visit MTR. Lastly, the staff here are super kind and more than happy to serve you a slice of Bangalore.

I had a plate of rice idly (2pcs). I am not sure how authentic this was. The idly wasn't steamed properly, it was microwaved and served on a flimsy plastic plate with plastic spoon and fork. The idly was doughy. The chutney was mint which tasted straight out of a powder. The sambhar too was a bright reddish/maroon coloured, sort of from a powder. There were no vegetables in the sambhar. How can they charge £3.50 for this garbage when just down the road you can get authentic idly, coconut chutney and lentil sambhar full of drumsticks and vegetables from Chennai Sangeetha restaurant. I took the tamarind rice thing which was nothing to write home about.

It is a new venue on Kenton Road. A friend from Bangalore recommended this place so I went to check it out. The venue: There is a relatively small seating area with four tables in the front. Much of the space is taken by the front desk and the kitchen. It is my perception that it is geared more towards a takeaway model. The wall on the right has a story board of the MTR story with pictures of their history. It seems the prime minister's in laws are also fans. The service: There being no one for a sit down meal at the time the person at the front desk took his time explaining the various items on the menu. They have a daily special too. It being my first visit I decided on the mini thali. The food: The food arrived in takeaway plate and cutlery. The portion was large. 9 curry or chutney portions with a large bowl of rice , a small masala dosa and poppadom. The curry and chutney were very tasty. I would have them again. Albeit with smaller portion of rice. The masala dosa was thick and not crispy as you get in other south Indian restaurant. All in all a good experience.

Just happened to be there by chance. This is purely a takeaway but has a few tables. We ordered Rava masala Dosa, Bene Dosa, Uddin Vada, Bisi Belle Bath, Badam Milk, and Badam Halwa. The quality of food took us by surprise, reminded me of eating out in a nice Indian veg restaurant in India. The sambar and Chutneys were really tasty. Would definitely recommend Rava Masala Dosa, Benne Dosa and Badam Halwa( slightly on a sweeter side) but we savoured it all. Loved the food so much that we went back the next day to take away food while we travelled back from holidays. The only con about this place is the plastic cutlery and disposable plastic plates if u happened to eat out there.😖 Vishwas who served us was excellent, he recommended food we could choose and it was lovely chatting with him.

Food is amazing, as expected. Only marking this down as it's purely self service for those dining-in and food is only being served in disposable plastic plates with plastic forks. The prices are the same as the branch in Rayners Lane (a full service restaurant) so feels like there is less value for money here. I also get the impression that the portions here are smaller. This all really took away from the joy of the experience and lets the MTR brand down badly. They make the excuse that the place is take-away and, get this, they don't encourage people to eat there - but then why have tables and seats?? How much would it cost to buy a few plates and cutlery? Seriously, sort this out.
