Mr LoBo in Islington

Never had Peruvian cuisine, I was totally impressed! The ambiance is great, the food was delicious and we even had a visit from the chef/owner. He and his wife are very friendly! Lorenzo lama was also welcoming!

My friend told me to go to this restaurant ..I was not sure since I had never tried Peruvian food , and 2 of my relatives are picky .. but they loved it! Everything was delicious , lots of flavour , presentation of the dishes was top notch , friendly staff, deco is fun and cozy ..I recommend MrLobo without hesitation !

While exploring restaurants in the area we came across this incredible place… food, ambience, and especially the service were super b. If you like Peruvian food or new to it you should definitely come to visit Mr Lobo, this will leave you satisfied and happy!

We dined at Mr Lobo with a group of 11 and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was inviting, and all the staff efficiently handled our large party. The menu offered a great variety of delicious dishes and wines at an exceptional value - Ceviche, Lomo Saltado and Anticucho Ox heart- making it a fantastic choice for groups. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to our lovely night. I highly recommend it for quality dining and great prices, especially for larger parties.

Booked this based on other peoples excellent reviews. They were justified. Interesting variety of small and some not so small plates. Fish, meat and vegan/vegetarian dishes couldnt be faulted. Never tried ox heart or octopus before, but these were super tender and flavorsome. The vegan saltado was deliciously smokey. Presentation of everything beautiful. Owner and waiting staff provided exemplary service.

Absolutely delighted (and relived) that my besties loved this place as much as I do. It was bit of a gamble for my choice of venue for our regular get together as a few were unfamiliar with Peruvian food. It was a triumph and will become a regular haunt. It’s friendly and fun and the food is superb.

I had the pleasure of trying this place out, on recommendation from a friend, and it was great, tried several dishes on the menu, all of which were fantastic as was the atmosphere and service. GC

Aileen and me, looking for a nice bite before a gig in Islington, saw Mr LoBo was located right opposite the venue and thought "Peru. Something different..." Glad we did - absolute result. If we're honest, most eateries deliver what-it-says-on-the-tin and that's absolutely fine. Mr LoBo, however, over-delivers across the board. The food is seriously delicious, the ambiance in the restaurant is elegant and welcoming at the same time and by the time the bill came around, we were quite sad to be leaving a service team that had us thinking we'd just dined at a good friend's place. Big shout to Katja and her team for being so seriously nice. If you're looking for a special dining experience in Islington, Mr LoBo will see you right.

Such a lovely welcoming place. The lady that served us was so friendly and helpful from start to finish. The food was presented really well and tasted amazing. My boyfriend and I shared 4 plates and when we were still hungry, the lady in charge suggested another dish that we wouldn't have normally gone for. It was the best one we had, the flavours worked so well together. We couldn't fault a single thing. The cocktails were really tasty too. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.

We came across Mr Lobo when walking past by chance. It looked lovely and cosy from the outside and we were lucky enough to get a table. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing, we tried dishes we had never had before but loved it all and are already planning to return next time we are in the area. I would highly recommend for both great drinks and really good quality, tasty food.

From the warm greeting and the exceptional attention from our host, to the delicious cocktail (Incanto) and food, it was an unexpected WOW. We were advised that dishes were to share and to choose 3 or 4. Some we didn't want to share but here's what we ordered for the table. Beef Skewers, Pork Belly, Chicken Pollada, Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Tartare, Sea Bass and Alfajores for dessert. I can't vouch for the Pork as I'm not a fan but everything else was incredible!

We came to Mr Lobo last night for the first time - a table of 9 celebrating two big birthdays. As we sat down the manager let us know immediately that the kitchen was two people down as one of the chefs had had a severe allergic reaction - she was just telling us there might be a slight wait on food, this communication was brilliant. We did not have to wait for food or drinks, the quality of both was just amazing. We left feeling full and delighted having just had a delicious meal. 100000% will be coming back!

Food tasted amazing, especially the fish in the ceviche dish which was super fresh. The pisco cocktails are a must try as well. Owners are incredibly welcoming and decent people. Highly recommended for those looking to try Peruvian food for the first time!

This is a great restaurant to go to in the heart of Highbury & Islington. Really delicious food and a whole range of different Peruvian foods to try that are really tasty. The service was fantastic and very personal, would definitely recommend!

I sampled several fantastic dishes from the menu and it was all brilliant. The services was also great and the cocktails immense. My personal favourite was the grilled Ox heart with chimchurri and I would recommend it to everyone.
