Really can’t say anything negative, great experience made even better by Kacey’s service. Helped me navigate my way through the menu and made sure I got something I would like very commendable as I’m very fussy.

I was served by the lovely Kacey at the bar when I came in for drinks after work. She helped me out and gave me great beer recommendations. Down to earth, like-able and professional, excellent service all round, will be coming back just to speak to Kacey very soon!

First time here, and would recommend for cocktails, served by a lovely young lady called Kacey who took the time to describe the cocktails and was very polite and attentive! Will be returning to try the food!

What a great night! Came for drinks after work before heading out to pride celebrations and had such a nice time. Kacey served us and she was so down to earth, attentive and had a great sense of humor. None of us had the first idea what we wanted - she made recommendations and the drinks were mega. Was only meant to be a one time stop but we'll definitely be back!

Leah’s service was amazing , she explained the whole menu to us , nothing was to much hassle and she really went the full mile to give us the full experience , we was there for our anniversary and couldn’t recommend anybody better for the experience we enjoyed

Nobody bothered to come and serve us, ordered 2 drinks at the bar and had a service charge added on, what service am I paying for??? For me to have to come to you and you make my drinks in a completely dead bar?? £30 for 2 little drinks is beyond a joke. Wish I didn’t bother.

I had my Hen do at Motley on Saturday 03/08/2024, we had the best time and can’t thank the staff enough for being so kind and helpful. We did the bottomless brunch in the private room. Food was lovely and drinks even better! Even from booking the replies was fast and every question I asked was answered promptly. The room was stunning and table set up ready for our arrival. We had the best time and again can’t thank the Motely team enough. We would definitely be returning again!

We went for a late brunch, definitely worth the money and the two girls who were serving us on a saturday night were so good and attentive we would definitely be back

Wow, it was a great experience! What a phenomenally fun place with a DJ set and fantastic decor. Not cheap but definitely recommended to drop in!!!!

No table service so had to order at the bar, my drink was £6.50 on the menu and I was charged £7.15? I can only assume 10% service charge was added however I wasn’t asked if I wanted a receipt. Why did they charge me an extra 10%?

Me and my friend attended today 20/04/24 for a bottomless brunch which was £40 each. We had 4 drinks each which is not many in comparison to many bottomless brunches we have done before. We thought we would try somewhere different to our usual place and was left disappointed. On arrival was rushed for a food order after only being there for 5minutes and after it arrived it was poor quality, we had the burger tacos and these consisted of a dry wrap with a beef patty and a salad, no side with them so it didn’t feel like a substantial brunch meal. We had 3 drinks and to get the fourth I had to collar a member of staff and she seemed confused as to why we was asking for another. The service wasn’t ideal and there was plenty of staff and not many customers so I don’t see what only 4 drinks were given to us. Also staff were just hovering at the bar on occasions so they could have come over to be of assistance. On many brunches I’ve attended previously we have been told when there’s half about hour left and then when it’s time for last drinks and we never got told until I had to physically ask for the bill. I did complain when asking for the bill and the service charge was taken off and then a manager in non uniform looked to have been spoken to as a free glass of Prosecco was given to us which was nice but it still doesn’t take away the experience wasn’t the best. Me and my friend only get to meet up every 6 months or so and this time we was left disappointed and will not be attending again and not recommending in future for a botttomless brunch.

My wife and I dined here on Thursday, 4th of April and I have to say, our experience exceeded our expectations. The food, the service and the atmosphere were top drawer. We will definitely be revisiting.

Rubbish service. Went with the mate waited at bar right in front of the entrance so hard to miss, the bar was empty.. bartender saw us then ignored us and started taking other customer orders. We waited for about 7min. The bartender saw us and gave uncomfortable look and again ignored us and went back to the other side…never going again such a waste.

Nice place for a drink. Atmosphere good, a mixture of ages in and a DJ. Didn't have anything to eat so can't review food here.

Terrible, we went to have two coffees and he treated us extremely badly from the moment we entered. Bad service and €10 for two coffees.

Popped in when passing in a couple. There is parking very close by as well as loads of other nice bars, shops, restaurants. Perfectly positioned really in the centre of Deansgate. Very nice vibe, comfy seats and staff were friendly. All good here 👍

Great vibe and wonderful decor. However, serving a Lancashire Hotpot with cheesy mash on top is simply not a Lancashire Hotpot.

Called her for food. Menu looked nice. Ordered bettys hot pot with sliced potatoes and slow cooked lamb. I was a bit taken aback when a shepherds pie arrived. Mashed potatoes with dry shredded lamb underneath. Very disappointing. My husband ordered a dish with fried rice. Came with boiled rice. Toilets a long way down stairs and corridors so not good with my disabled hip !! When we paid 10% service charge was already added. So annoying as service charge is a reward for a great experience!! Staff were nice but def a no no for the food.

Lovely place to sit and relax. I personally thought it was an expensive place considering all the places on your doorstep. AND as for the extra 10% added to your bill with every transaction. I find it sticks in my throat, considering we're a minimum wage country. We did, however, take advantage of the £5 discount we got from our room and had a 2 4 1 cocktail, which was very tasty.

The restaurant and the atmosphere are very good, the manager is the best.

Wouldn't recommend this place. We popped in for some pre-dinner cocktails and were disappointed with our experience. I ordered a strawberry and lychee martini and it arrived with the glass half empty and with bits of ice in the martini glass (big no, obviously hadn't been strained properly). Pinot grigio wasnt great and they forgot items on the orders. It also seems the servers don't get to keep the tips unless it's cash, dispite our experience we left a small cash tip as it's Christmas. Overall, would avoid this place in the future

My visit to the Motley Hotel in Manchester was made truly special, thanks to Shaz. Celebrating a friend's birthday, Shaz went above and beyond with attentive service during our drinks. Although I rarely write reviews, Shaz's outstanding efforts deserved this mention. Highly recommend for a memorable experience!

First visit and I was very impressed. Love the quirky decor and great atmosphere. The food was stunning. Very good portion sizes too. We were served by Shreyas who was amazing. What a wonderful gentleman he is. So polite and helpful and a real asset to your business. We will definitely be returning and I do highly recommend this venue for any occasion.

£7.50 for a pint of lager!! Absolute joke! They even add a service charge on! Won’t be coming back - rip off!!!

What a find. We were staying at the Yotel due to a cancelled flight back home to USA. Grabbed a meal and cocktail here and it was a highlight!. Staff were super attentive too.

Came in today for my daughters first proper legal cocktail and we weren’t disappointed. Was lovely. Best mojitos I’ve tried in manc! The bar man was fantastic, didn’t catch his name! Thank you for a lovely experience

I ordered a katsu curry, absolutely beautiful. Couldn't rate the food higher. Service was lovely we were a table of 13 so not easy and we all wanted to pay separately. The waitress that served us never batted an eye even when one of our group arrived around 35 minutes late! She was amazing. The music was super loud and it made it difficult to speak between us unless we were sat next to the person, it was also really warm in there and I only finished half my curry due to the heat. I was honestly too warm to eat more and I had a very nice cold beer to try and cool me down.

We ate at Motley on 23rd July 2023 and were very disappointed. The food was dreadful - tasteless, overpriced, and very limited. The flatbreads came with hummus which was barely edible (how do you mess up hummus?) and the bhuna was a watery mess. All of our dishes had no flavour and even the chips (ordered as a safe bet) weren’t cooked through. Service was fine, atmosphere and decor weren’t my thing but weren’t the worst. Between 4, we paid £90 for 2 large plates and 4 small plates + a bottle a wine. Portion sizes were okay. Poor vegetarian options. The overall experience wasn’t terrible (no issues with staff, wait times, etc.) but I wouldn’t go back unless the standard of food improved dramatically - probably the worst meal I’ve had in Manchester.

We had breakfast here, there are lots of choices, fruit, cereal, hot breakfast, toast, crossiants and other pastries, muffins and cheese and ham as well. Very impressed with the selection. I tried the sweet potato, spinach and tofu "scrambled eggs", this was part of the hot breakfast however it was very cold. Such a shame as I think it would have been lovely. My partner had sausage, bacon, mushroom and hash browns and everything was cold. We went down around half 8ish, there wasn't many people so I assume it is the turn over of food but a heated plate or smaller portions out would have really helped as it did spoil it. The toast took a long time to sort out as you have to keep flipping it as it goes round, lots of jam, Nutella and marmalade and marmite is available next to it though. The crossiants and muffins were lovely and the muffins were in packaging that said vegan on. It is great that they do food for lots of different types of dietaries. You can also have evening and lunch meals in the same place which also looked (from the menu) very nice. Coffee machine and tea also available for breakfast. If the hot food had been hot it would have been absolutely fantastic

Real flop. Had this on my radar for a while. Took my gf & friends out for celebrations & right from the go, everything was delayed. Unclear/ slow bar service.. it is what it is. Delay with our table being ready, with the food menus, with confirmation of allergens (despite being given a heads up as I booked ahead) - also be very cautious about eating here if you have a serious allergen. Slow with the food coming out - half the food was actually cold, no clearance with glasses & extra bought over oddly too, clearly untrained staff. Three servers seen clearing one other table during all of this, while we were neglected... Good decor though, had caught my eye before, walking past. Felt embarrassed that I had taken people here tbh.

Went for drinks at a hosted event last week, the canapes and drinks were good, amazing service from the staff, especially Daisy!! (definitely made our night!)

Disgusting food and terrible service. I could taste the rest of the food in the freezer on my cheescake. The coffee was undrinkable. There was no service, we had to get up any time we wanted something.

Nice place staff not really intrested not much atmosphere

The Prawns with salt and pepper quite good, chilli's and soy sauce overpower the prawns too much however. The mushroom tagliatelle was not seasoned properly, and felt like it was missing something. Good quality pasta though. And the brownie sundae was one of the best parts with good quality ingredients. However I was expecting more than just 2 small pieces of brownie inside. I had to wait a while for service since my waitress was doing several jobs at once, she had a nice smile and listened carefully. Nice decor inside, however the chairs were too far away from the tables and they were un movable.

The service was VERY slow. I ordered fresh orange juice and it wasn't fresh and the food wasn't what i ordered. I am not satisfy at all.

Motley has stunning interior, great drinks and lovely staff. One particular staff member (didnt get his name) who worked behind the bar, short brown hair, dark shirt and stubble offered fantastic service! Due to the bar being rowdy, he offered us to sit and he would bring the drinks for us and went above and beyond for us. Overall great experience and the customer service was amazing, will be coming back next time i’m in Manchester!

Food is average. Not many good veg options. Chicken and fish were good. Onion rings were underprepared and bland. Atmosphere and staff are nice.

Sooo slow. 45 mins and it wasn't busy. I had the pork rib eye. The meat was so overdone I had trouble cutting through it with the knife they provided. Then the hassle back potatoes were raw in the middle. I was so hungry and tired so I went and got a Sainsburys meal deal. I won't be eating an evening meal there again. They didn't even care. I returned nearly the whole thing and no apologies, offer for anything else or money off my bill. I litterally paid and left as no one was interested. Not good at all

Popped in for a quick drink,Really poor service waited over 10 minutes at the bar while the barman served one person who arrived after us and on the second occasion raised it to say we were here first started arguing with us. Ended up walking out. Really was a shambles considering how quiet it was.

Super tasty food, gorgeous seating areas and friendly staff. Menu has some nice options on it which were cooked quickly and tasted great. Nice cocktails 🍷.

The location is fantastic and there is plenty of outdoor seating which on Deansgate is a rare commodity, the food though was a bit below par. The chicken burger was probably the best thing we had, the steak wasn't great and neither was the Korean fried chicken. The beef croquettes were lovely. The service was excellent and the staff were amazing.

Poor service, we were given our bill before our meals had arrived, after waiting 30 minutes we enquired and realised they put the order through wrong and what we wanted had since sold out. Was offered a refund and went somewhere else. Servers had attitude.

Absolutely Brilliant Venue!! Highly highly recommend. I rented out one of the function rooms for my 30th and it was perfect! The room itself was absolutely beautiful it didn’t require much decorating at all. We were able to play our own music all night. My friends and I had the best time The staff were extremely friendly and very welcoming. - Ollie Beaumont was very helpful in arranging the room. Thank you to the whole staff. I will 100% be returning and will recommend to everyone

Food was alright, the foccacia was lovely, but the service was painfully slow for us (quiet Friday early lunch). It took ages to get our drinks ordered (table behind us came in after but got all the attention). No salt on table, had to wander round to find it, obvs no one noticed and offered to help, and no plates for a shared small plate meal.

Staff are beyond rude. Racist to Irish. Plenty of other places don't bother

Staff are very disrespectful no attention to the fact your sat there asked to sit in a particular area and waitress huffing and tutting and saying oh you have changed your mind again. We were sat there for half an Hour and had to physically say can someone get plz get Us a drink and £15 for one GnT And a sparkling water no wonder it’s quiet it will be closed soon with any luck Never going back didn’t stay for food if it takes that long to get a drink I’d still be there the day after waiting for a crumb of food pathetic!!! Don’t bother going here if you want to be served. Sat here for 15 mins with all staff avoiding us at all costs (wasn’t even remotely busy) despite it being table service. Avoided eye contact and anytime we called them they ignored us. Went to the bar to be reminded it’s table service by a really rude bar lady. What seemed to be the bar manager was too busy looking at herself in the mirror. Far nicer places to spend your money that actually want to serve you.

Not surprised the latest 3 reviews are 1 stars. Staff don't want to serve anyone. Disgrace, we waited so long to be served that we walked out. Started to think it was because we were Irish but seems to be the common trend.

Waited for ages at the door to be seated, even though we had booked. Waitress told us to wait in an abrupt manner to wait. Then when we was eventually seated the waitress just left and didn’t accommodate us. What made it worse was the bar was not even busy. Happily walked out when service was absent. A couple who had walked out informed me the food was distasteful. The Aussie waitress also made us feel uncomfortable when she arrogantly claimed “you are in Manchester Now” as if she has had something to prove. If you are served by this Waitress who’s skill level is evidently low I wish you well. Would I return ? Short answer No and neither should you.
