The best chicken burger (Large) I've had in 47 years. What a treat. A huge succulent fillet expertly fried in a fantastic light batter made with the deftness of touches then expertly built using fresh produce and a fantastic choice of floury bap. It was also served up by a lovely and welcoming team both FOH and BOH. The young chef was clearly proud of his work. And so he should be. Highly recommended. Conor

It was a bit of a disappointment when I ordered chicken goujons and chips, the chips were small and had a strange bite to them. The chicken goujojs however were amazing, they had lovely crispy batter and soft chicken, I would order them again. The staff were lovely however our food took longer than expected.

I always go for Fish and Chips when I've taken a trip to the sea and these didn't disappoint. 4.3 on Google, but easily a 4.7 or higher. Cooked fresh to order, clean, crisp and super tasty. Did my usual fish test, broke it in two, checked fat retention (low), batter thickness (lite), batter on bite (crisp), fish consistency (moist). Pretty much perfect.. Yes we had to wait, but all good things are worth waiting for. Certainly, one of the nicest Fish suppers I've had, and a definite if you're in Ballycastle. Incidentally, Ballycastle is my new favourite beach too 😁

Think this for me was a don't meet your heroes scenario. Was here last about 5 years ago and was buzzin to get back today. Value still not bad, fish still good, as was the pastie (if a little squishy), Chips however were really poor, clearly (to me), pre packed. My remembrance of Mortons was as the best chippie I've ever been to, sadly not any more.

One of the best fish and chip shops in the whole of Ireland I have ever been in people come from all around Ireland North and South and even Scotland it's that good a fish and chip shop top TV chiefs call in when they are in the area. Morton's is not just an ordinary chip shop that for sure as they have their own fleet of fishing boats and everything that they catch on the high seas they bring home and prepare it fresh and in their own shop kitchen straight on to your plate. So you can't get better than that can you.

Fish small, batter poor, chips few and old. For a large cod and large chip very poor in quality and far from cheap. Have tried in a few times over the last few years just in case I've been unlucky in what I've got. Conclusion. After 4 times all poor the message has got through. I have no idea why this place has the popularity it has. I must just be hugely unlucky each time I go there. Never again.

A nice place for fish and chips. There's plenty of seating available and the food was decent. The portions are quite large. My sisters split an order of the fish and chips and there was plenty to go around. I enjoyed the chicken goujon special, though it was a bit greasier than I prefer. Overall, a good place to stop for fish and chips along the North Coast.

Possibly the best take away or sit in fish n chips on the North Coast. Phone ahead and place your order or turn up and order, fairly large sit in building beside the chippy, located over looking the harbour and a stones throw away from the ferry terminal. Good menu, quite a few speciality dishes as well.

£4 for the smallest takeaway chips I’ve ever seen. They tasted ok but that’s a total rip off. I’ve put my hand in the photo to show the scale. I know costs have gone up but in Bushmills (Flash in the Pan) chips are £3.60 for 3x the size plus taste better & better service. Will definitely not come here again

No idea where the ‘best fish and chips in the UK’ award comes from, because what I had (Cod supper £12) was extremely poor quality. Fish had huge bones in it which I nearly choked on, and the chips were barely edible - I think they must have been reheated frozen chips because they were so dry and rubbery you wouldn’t imagine you’d waited 30 minutes for them to be cooked freshly. I could name a handful of chippys with excellent quality fish and chips at half the price Morton’s are charging. I felt like I’d been conned and ripped off, and I would never waste my money there again.

Great for a picnic by the sea or sat in the car with a vast range of menu items something for everyone. Including chicken, loaded fries, burgers, prawns, scampi and yes fish. You place your order in a tiny shop and wait outside until your order is ready they shout your name on a tannoy. The average wait every time we go is 15-20 mins. They have a covered dining area across from the shop where you can sit with your takeaway on a bad weather day. Also they have a fresh fish shop which opens a fews hours a couple times a week to buy fish fresh and mussels etc.

Very friendly service. Got a chicken fillet burger. You get a choice of small or large. I got the small which I would say is just slightly smaller than the norm elsewhere. Price wise the burger was too cheap for the quality in my opinion. Could easily charge a £1 more. The chicken fillet burger was very tasty and I would highly recommend it. Great they also do a scoop of chips at a very reasonable price. Parking is okay with a number of public car parks very close by. If you go at lunchtime you also avoid the crowds.

Fish and chips are fresh and at its best. I'd been promised tea from here on previous visits and this last one was to be it, we got there just before it got busy and boy does it get busy. There's no frying up front here you wait for your food and it's hot and bloomin lovely. We ordered a side of onion rings and I expected to get maybe 4 or 6 rings, oh no what you get is pretty much a whole onion. It's not overly expensive either with our order being about £20. This place has won awards for its seafood and I can see why! During the summer there will usually be a long line of people waiting from opening until close, but I found the length of time to wait was pretty standard. Probably waited about 15 minutes from order until I was walking away with a bag full of fish suppers. Staff appeared to be working efficiently and there was a jovial atmosphere; even though they were busy, there was still time for them to greet me like I was their first customer as opposed to maybe being the hundredth that day! The food was delicious, not greasy at all despite being fried. Chips were good; portion sizes were plenty big. Kids enjoyed their meals too, again adequately sized; definitely don't be ordering an adult portion for anyone under 16 😂 Took out meals down to the beach to eat them. Perfect, quiet little place. I'll be ordering again next time I'm in Ballycastle 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Just your average chippy, only difference is they sell a few different items than most chippys, like chowder and monkfish and crab items. My friend and I both had chowder. We were given plastic teaspoons to eat it with and we both ended up slicing our top lips on both sides with the spoons, so had to 'drink' it instead. When my friend went back inside to tell them about this the fellow ( she thinks his name was Luke), was totally disinterested and not even an apology was given. The other items we had, were ok, bit expensive for portion size. We ate in the indoor eating area as it was raining not an enjoyable experience, as children from the ages of 2 to about 10 were running round disrupting the place whilst the parents ignored them. Wouldn't rush back

We ventured here on a recommendation, and while it was decent enough, that's all it was. I've given three stars as by Google maps definition that's "it's ok" and that's exactly what my thoughts were. Nothing to complain about but nothing great either. Portion sizes for fish and chips (or fish supper as sold here) were just ok, every bit polished off by both adults and children in my party. The fish bites portion was pretty decent. Chips were similar to oven chips and the batter was dry and crispy. This might be a matter of taste and some might love it. Personally I have had better and worse in the world of fish and chips. I waited around 5 minutes to order and a further 15-20 to collect. Salt, vinegar, tomato sauce sachets and plastic cutlery were all free which was good.

Ordered the 'pan fried hake supper' and got a 1/3rd of a normal fish supper portion, that had clearly been deep fried and a 1/4 of the chips, all for the same price. Suggestion to the management, please provide good training to your staff on how to treat customers. Not sure it is problem with specific person working at this location but me and my friend were ignored consistently like we does not exist. After waiting for ~20 mins we returned without buying any drinks. Bar tender knew we were next in line but he kept serving others. Is it because we are not locals? Or because of our country of origin? Hope this does not happen to other Asians
